Flashback Scene from SOKP Episode 31

Ok, even though I haven't recovered, I am still going back and rewatching Episodes 31-32.

I love this flashback scene immensely. Not only is it hotter than hell, but it also shows both fierce adversaries come together because they are the SAME.

Both are like two dragons or tigers circling eachother and sizing eachother up. Regardless of the fact that Ning'er is coming to Xie Wei for help as a last ditch effort to protect herself, the both of them don't give an inch to one another.

Both have the potential to be a ruling power couple of epic proportions. But, both are too damaged at this point to fully make it work. Still, the tension is there. Xie Wei is very tempted to act on his desire. And Ning'er is willing.

You can tell that Xie Wei really thinks about it, and in return he almost seduces HER, when she is the one trying to seduce HIM. They really are like minded individuals trying to survive and failing.

And then he rejects her. But, the act still sticks in Ning'er's mind in her second life. It's one of the reasons why she gets so confused about Xie Wei's attentions. She can't figure him out. So she floats in the sea of denial.

something something, rich son soap getting kidnapped by a group who want money, ghost is part of that group and got tricked by an old acquaintance into helping, didn’t realize who the target was and ends up being subjected to a soap who’s not scared at all and keeps flirting w him despite the danger he’s in

cut to price and gaz, soap’s bodyguards, busting in and saving their boss by killing everyone else in the room. before price gets a chance to fire a shot at ghost, soap yells at him to stop

“not him, he’s coming home with me”

“they didn’t tell him shit, so he’s innocent anyway”

before ghost has a chance to make a quick getaway, gaz knocks him out and ghost wakes up hours later in a room w the tables turned. he’s tied to a chair with soap sitting directly across from him, legs crossed and looking at ghost w a friendly smile despite their positions

Characters/tropes my heart craves to see in litg

Friends to lovers. A classic. A staple. Can’t go wrong here. But I truly want it to start out as just a friendship - nothing less, nothing more. “Him? Nah, he’s not my type” “Her? Nah, we just like spending time together” Ya know? Like, they don’t even consider it a possibility until people kinda look at them funny and it gets a little awkward cuz they shared so much with each other and they notice their partners aren’t giving them what they need to give and then “oh.” “Oh.” Ya feel me?

MC as a returning islander. We lowkey had that with casa in s6 but no. I don’t want it like that. I want MC to be truly dumped from the show - awkward silence, blank stares and all. I want to gasp, I want my hand to fly to my mouth and stare at the screen for five minutes. I want to nervously open litg insta and see people in the comments freak out. I want to see “new episodes… coming soon?” and i want that question mark to punch me in the face like the smug little shit that it is. I want to count days till next Wednesday and then I open the app with my shaking hands to see the Narrator tell me “… the public has given you a second chance…” and BAM we’re back in the game weeks later - take your chance at redemption, assert yourself, or finally finally find your true love!

Bad boy/girl. No, I don’t want some reformed “I pUt mY plAyEr yEarS in ThE paSt” sorta thing. I want them to literally come in and not make fools out of us and be all upfront. Just be honest - say you’re here for a good time not a long time, for nothing serious. Say you’re here to break hearts. Say you have your eye on MC as your next “victim” and then get rejected for once in your goddamn life. Try to move on, but there’s just something different this time. Something that keeps you up at night. Someone that you can’t stop thinking about. Because maybe, just maybe, you don’t wanna play with anyone anymore. And maybe, just maybe, you wanna change - just for a chance, even if all that chance is, is to breathe the same air as MC.
