Oh. my. goodness. Could it be true?! Could another year really have come to a close?! Well, my friends, that appears to be a yes. But, most importantly, another round of voting has also ended!
Let us stop for a second and ponder all of our wins and losses for this past year and for all the previous rounds of this tournament and say our congratulations - or condolences, as always - to both. As the saying goes: New year, new round! So let's keep moving for another week of voting and another year of madness!
As you might have noticed from the return of our Tournament layout to its origin, we're going to be pausing the voting on the Winners Bracket for a little while to let our Losers catch up and get to the Ultimate Final together. That means that starting this week, and for the next three weeks after that, we'll be reuniting with some old flames and eliminating shows yet again.
So let's not waste any more time and not make our Pre-SemiFinals Round for the Losers Bracket wait any longer. If your favourites have already been eliminated then Yay! but if not, it's time now more than ever to keep voting and hoping your darlings don't make it out alive. It's a race to the bottom, baby, and we've got bottoms aplenty.

💥 Interdimensional Smash Brawl 💥
Roster Announcement and MORE!
Tumblr media
"Hi, everyone! Lucoa here again. We've now finalized our roster and so are the guidelines for the first round. Just a reminder: this might be a lot to take in.
First and more importantly, here's the lineup for the first round.
Tumblr media
As you can see, given that we have 12 participating entries, we'll have 6 matches to start. And as for the names, they are arranged by fighter + assist format. If anyone within their team would like to switch roles, you may reply here so that we'll know before we start the tournament.
Tumblr media
On the other hand, we have 5 participating hosts in our list. Lala had to fill the gap to make it 6. With that being said, here is the list of hosts assigned to their respective matches:
Lala (@starredvisions)
Bocchi (@hxroic-wxlls)
Ruby (@ancicntforged)
Violet (@team-vlts)
Navia (@starredvisions)
Kotaro (@musekaiplex)
Now, the guidelines on how the tournament works especially for the 1st round are listed here.
In addition to that, if any of the participants break the rules 3 times within the match, they will be removed from the tournament automatically and will not be able to participate anymore especially in the losers bracket. To our fighters and assists, make sure to remember that. As for our hosts, keep on your watch.
And another important thing: How do we determine the winner in each match? With the use of polls, here's how we will do it:
Each match will run in two days. The first day will be the pre-poll period wherein our participants shall be given a chance to have their fight thread posted before the voting starts.
The next day will be the voting period. During this period, our participants who don't have fight threads yet will still be given the chance to post them.
If a fight thread is not posted within the duration of the match, we will solely base on the poll results.
If, by any chance, the outcome of the fight thread contradicts the poll results, our deciding factor will depend on the difference of the number of votes.
For example, Team A has 3 more votes than Team B but Team B won in the fight thread, we shall declare Team B as the winner.
However, if Team A has 5 (or higher) more votes than Team B, then Team A will be the winner.
Also, if the fight thread hasn't concluded its outcome yet within the duration of the match, we will base the result from the poll as well.
Tumblr media
Now that they're all set, please stay tuned for more announcements as the event will officially start soon. If you still have questions or suggestions, don't be afraid to reach out.

WEEK ONE SUBMISSION REVIEW AND POLL PLANS
SUBMISSION REVIEW
61 characters have been voted!
out of all the submissions, the most voted is yuya sakaki with six votes!
the most voted for gx is YUBEL with three votes, the most voted for 5ds is CROW HOGAN with two votes, the most voted for zexal is BYRON ARCLIGHT with five votes, the most voted for arc v is YUYA SAKAKI with six votes, the most voted for vrains is AI with four votes, the most voted for sevens is ASANA MUTSUBA and TIGER with two votes, and the most voted for go rush is YUNA GOHA with four votes. (ocg only got one vote, for yami kuroda)
POLL PLANS
i don’t have a set date for when i’ll start this, but i’m aiming for JULY 30. I have two different plans, but it depends on the votes. one is to have all characters only voted once have pre-polls against each other, which will have the tournament (AS OF NOW) be even. the other is to run the tournament normally, but that would have to have some polls be with 3 characters instead of two. i’ll have a separate poll to decide which idea up after i write this.
there will be a loser bracket.
as said/asked before, i’ll do series specific gay tournaments after this, but i don’t know when. they’ll go in order from first to last series, and each winner go up against each other.
i believe that is it, but i may add more if i have forgotten or this is unreadable. again, thanks so much for the support, and have a great gay day.

Hello, all! 12 hours to go until Round 2 comes to a close.
Just wanted to say: huge, HUGE thanks for giving Pre-SGW vs. Prime such a widespread audience, I truly appreciate it. Let's show some love for the other polls going on as well; the larger sample size I have, the better!
And in other news, I have been considering conducting a loser's bracket after the tournament finishes. How would you all feel about that?

Schedule for the Disney Villain Vie
Saturday, March 18th @ 10:00 am Central Time: Submissions close. No more votes will be accepted and the form will be taken down. For the next couple days I will be counting up the votes and deciding who goes on the bracket.
Monday, March 20th @ 5:00 pm Central Time: Bracket will be posted and pinned.
Tuesday, March 21st - Friday, March 24th: All Villains competing will have individual “Character Cards” including what they did, the piece of media they are in, most notable things, etc. These will be sent 8 a day with no set time for each.
Saturday, March 25th @ 12 am Central Time: A pre-competition round will be held. Multiple polls will be posted all at once with each character on them and people will vote who they want to win the most. THIS HAS NO EFFECT ON WHO WINS THE GAMES!! These polls will last all week.
Saturday, April 1st @ 8 am Central Time: Round 1 of the Disney Villain Vie begins. This will be broken up into 2 parts over two days. Each poll lasts 1 DAY!
Everything else from here remains unplanned! As each round ends, there will be a short period of time in between (probably a day) for me to see who one and eliminate the losers from the bracket. Have fun!

I feel like I don't know how to step back from writing. Taking breaks are difficult and it's invaded every part of my brain. I can't just have cool ideas that don't go anywhere anymore, I always think "what if that's a new fic" I hate thinking about my favorite characters because I feel like it always leads to a new idea and I can't take a step back no matter how hard I try. Advice?
I don’t know if this will help or not, but it’s what I did back when I had ideas all the time.
I collected all of my ideas for fics, as well as prompts from other people, and created a March Madness style tournament I called a ficathon (before I knew that term was used for other purposes in fandom - oops!).
I put the prompts into 8 “conferences” based on the type of story: pre-canon, alternate universe, angst, crack/comedy, fluff, post-canon, missing moments, and smut. Then I put those stories into a bracket to face off against each other.
Each “match” between fics was a Six Sentence Sunday style snippet of story from somewhere in the fic. I did not write the entire stories. Just that one snippet. I used a free poll service and gave people 24 hours to read the two snippets and vote for their favourite. The winner moved onto another match and got an additional six sentences. The loser was dropped and available for someone else to pick up and write if they wanted it.
I got all of the fun of writing 64 different stories, but I only actually needed to finish 1 of them - whichever one the fandom participants voted for. It got the ideas out of my head enough that I was able to stop thinking about them, and I also got to see other people take up some of the stories and do things with them that were completely unexpected. 11/10 highly recommend.
If you find it hard not to write the stories, sometimes you have to find a way to get enough of the story out that you can let it go. That might mean sending prompts to other people. It might mean writing drabbles or plot summaries. It might mean creating an entire tournament structure to take the writing decision out of your hands.
It can be hard to let go of an idea and even harder to give yourself permission to do so. Find a way to do it that works for you, whatever that way may be. ❤
Writers: can you suggest some other ways to deal with this kind of problem? Or at least offer your sympathies. I think anon would appreciate it.
