So it is finally done after a week. I procrastinated so much but at least a spent a lot of that on sewing lace on other doll clothes, so not all that time was wasted. Anyway, this pattern was made for the other FailFix body but I didn't think how thick the armhole seams would be, so the blouse fits this body better as it has thinner upper arms. For closure I used hook-and-loop fastener so as not to add too much bulk to a garment that might have to go under other clothing. Also, because one of the mistakes I made in my first try at making a blouse for FailFix is that I used very strong snaps that pulled too strongly on the thin fabric but I didn't want to make a blouse from a thicker fabric, again because I didn't want it to be too bulky.

Fail Fix Ultimate Post, final part!

Alright, she's a weird one. The bubblegum/cotton candy rainbow theme is adorbs, for sure, but this doll originally comes with platinum blonde hair as seen here:

The gimmick of this doll is you "dye" the hair yourself. I hated this so much. The end look is alright, but the dye leaves residue on your hands and is super messy. The plus side is that it washes out clean so whenever you want you can go back to platinum blonde, but I wanted to try the fishtail braid look as the box advertises. It looks alright I suppose.

Her eye-con is a heart. One of the more obvious ones to spot!

Body types:

From what I can tell there's three distinct body types. I call them goddess, skinny minis, and tall babes respectively. The variety really helps them look diverse on the shelf, as some dolls are literally taller than others. Add to that that no two skin tones are the same and you get a fun lil cast of representation. I bet you any girl could find one of these dolls relatable to herself. Additionally, their sculpt is such that the torso itself is minimally changed between body types so there's no real issue with clothes fitting the other dolls.

Final thoughts: I'll be honest this is the first doll line I've collected since MLP but I'm pleasantly surprised. As I've said before on my blog the fashion aspect of these dolls is lacking a bit - not sure if they put all their budget to the face and the gimmick and kinda forgot the clothes, or what. In the end I can easily see making my own clothes for them though, so it doesn't bother me too much. Excited to have these on my shelf - and eager to get more shelves so I have room for the new girls.

FailFix Total Makeover Doll Pack - @PrettyArtee

Part of my Japanese May toy haul arrived. The two Banpresto Grandista Nero Sasuke Curse Mark prize figures are it. The other two dolls are stuff I got from Amazon using gift cards, since my birthday was on May, and I still have quite a few left. I was thinking of only getting one of the Sasuke figures, because these are a lot more than the other Grandista, but then I got two. I haven’t even unboxed my other three Sasuke Grandista, but here I am hording nonstop. DX

I loathe getting toys from Amazon, because the boxes arrived heavily damaged most of the time, and I’m a MISB hoarder collector. So, I expect my figures and dolls in pristine condition, when I purchase them new. Sadly the Secret Crush doll arrived with a few signs of damage. A few of the plastic zip ties were broken, the limited packaging is torn as it is obvious, and it was all tapped with clear packing tape. I’m guessing it arrived, or traveled that way, but a lot of other stuff I purchase from them is always in horrible condition. As an actual collector, I try not to purchase stuff I want to keep in box from them. However, having everyone I know gifting me virtual gift cards, and a lot of them from Amazon, makes it a pain in the gut hole, not to purchase from them, when I already have balance there. DX

I also got another Kawaii.QTee to unbox and attempt repainting. My mom got me the PrettyArtee, from Walmart, because she finds the concept and the “failed” masks, cute. I’m probably only getting PreppPosh, and hope I don’t want any more of them. They are super cute, but take too much space, and other than for repainting one, I don’t really need more. (:

Failfix PrettyArtee before and after pics. I spent a few hours today working on her. Failfix was not a popular line, but I enjoy them. Spend an afternoon brushing and washing doll hair, and you'll understand. Extremely satisfying. Since the got a screen name, not a real name, I'm naming her Artemis.

Another job well done! This one took forever for her curls to dry. She's so pretty. she might be the same head sculpt as KawaiiQtee. They have similar facial expressions. She has the same skin tone as PrettyArtee, maybe they're cousins. She has the curvy body. I'm gonna call her Gloria. She's an actress.

The ultimate Fail Fix doll post!! (Part One)

I'mma go through each one individually first, then discuss things like body types and overall impressions.

In no particular order:

PrettyArtee

While I'm not in love with her hat I love how colorful she is!

I think all FailFix dolls (besides one, I'll talk about that when I get to her...) have an icon sneakily hidden in their pupil. Artee's is hard to make out but I believe it's a crescent moon and stars.

PreppiPosh

If I had to pick one doll to relate to most, it's Preppi. She's a thiccer girl which is adorable, plus the glasses and I love her.

Her eye-con (geddit?) looks like a ribbon? Definitely one of the harder ones to make out. I had to take many pictures with flash to even kinda maybe see it.

Loves.Glam

I sense much sass from this one, and she's quickly my favorite. She comes with curlers but doesn't need too much work done on her hair.

Her icon is a diamond because duh, glam.

More Fail Fix dolls!!

PrettyArtee, not sure how to display her without covering her super pretty eyes with sunglasses. Guess they thought her hair was so boring and straight that they'd accessorize more.

KawaiiQtee, I got the sparkle version and I'm very happy with that!! One thing is her poof clips can only handle a sub-satisfactory amount of hair, so no tight styling.

SlayItDJ, she really rounds out the collection well as being both one of the tallest dolls and giving a strong nightclub/mom vibes. I don't know why I get that aura from her. Don't @ me. 💕

LovesGlam, she has to be up there on my personal favorite list. The curlers she comes with are pathetic and do almost nothing - you're better off with the ol' straw-and-bobby-pin trick. I just think she's so pretty and I'm very appreciative of the larger doll bodies.

2Dreami - still working on her! I wanted to stay true to the intention and so I gave the included hair dye a go. Not sure what that crap's made out of but it's very finicky. Even waiting overnight to let it dry it still leaves a tactile coating on the hair, and god forbid you get too much in an area. I'm going to attempt the mermaid braid for her but after that I'm not touching this hair again until I wash out the dye completely.

Here's my whole lineup, I should be receiving SportyStylz in the pail today and then I'll be able to take pictures in earnest! I'm super excited for her you don't even know!! I want to document differences in body type, face sculpt, and actually stage them. Will be so fun!
