Kawaii.Qtee is one of those dolls that fits every type of cute look you put her on. From decora complex to simple casual cute, she fits all types of cuteness 💗💙💜 Therefore, she deserves to also be surrounded by all things cutesy! 💜💙💗

The Fail Fix Kawaii.QTee I ordered from Amazon arrived and I’m pretty dang disappointed.

Just like 2Dreami, she has a slew of QC issues.

Not to mention the stolen artwork on her dress.

I don’t remember the details, but that was originally some Hello Kitty fanart that Moose stole and then changed just a little bit.

Anyway, the QC problems.

Just like my 2Dreami, her right wrist couldn’t go all the way into her forearm. I cut off the nub, again.

Here you can see the wrist sits properly, now.

Her body was dirty, right hip isn’t seated properly, right knee is misaligned (you can see it’s too far to the inside) and right knee also is a struggle to bend.

But the biggest issue she had:

At first I thought here eyes were misaligned, like 2Dreami but...

Her right eye wasn’t installed fully.

This is an unexpected shape! I cut off the sprue on the bottom (the nub on the top is to ensure proper placement and there is a divot for it in the eye well), and then was able to get it fully into her head with a wedge tool and some frustration.

The iris and white is printed directly onto the clear part. It would be pretty easy to alter or customize, with some work to make sure the clear stayed fully transparent. Also would be easy to make casts since the back is totally flat.

I got it in, but wrecked her paint in the process.

Honestly the only reason I ordered Kawaii.Qtee was so I could put a second doll on 2Dreami’s stand. I don’t know why I wanted to do that, but I very much did want to do that.

Since 2Dreami came with a second outfit, I took Kawaii.QTee out of the stolen art dress, and swapped some accessories around between the two.

It’s a little crowded. And my workstation is a mess; I’m working on ponies right now.

Better if I turn their heads.

I’ll likely tidy up her fail face mask so she can wear it now and then, but it does push up on her bangs in a weird way.

They’re cute! But those QC issues are a bummer.

Fail Fix Ultimate Post, final part!

2Dreami

Alright, she's a weird one. The bubblegum/cotton candy rainbow theme is adorbs, for sure, but this doll originally comes with platinum blonde hair as seen here:

The gimmick of this doll is you "dye" the hair yourself. I hated this so much. The end look is alright, but the dye leaves residue on your hands and is super messy. The plus side is that it washes out clean so whenever you want you can go back to platinum blonde, but I wanted to try the fishtail braid look as the box advertises. It looks alright I suppose.

Her eye-con is a heart. One of the more obvious ones to spot!

Body types:

From what I can tell there's three distinct body types. I call them goddess, skinny minis, and tall babes respectively. The variety really helps them look diverse on the shelf, as some dolls are literally taller than others. Add to that that no two skin tones are the same and you get a fun lil cast of representation. I bet you any girl could find one of these dolls relatable to herself. Additionally, their sculpt is such that the torso itself is minimally changed between body types so there's no real issue with clothes fitting the other dolls.

Final thoughts: I'll be honest this is the first doll line I've collected since MLP but I'm pleasantly surprised. As I've said before on my blog the fashion aspect of these dolls is lacking a bit - not sure if they put all their budget to the face and the gimmick and kinda forgot the clothes, or what. In the end I can easily see making my own clothes for them though, so it doesn't bother me too much. Excited to have these on my shelf - and eager to get more shelves so I have room for the new girls.

What's your opinion on Failfix dolls? How hard they are to reroot? Because they are a bit similar to Rainbow High with insert eyes but something about their faces makes them look better? Rainbow High tend to have a bit of dead stare. And they avoided looking as bad as modern Barbies with 3D printed faces, less grainy

Failfix are that unusual hard vinyl that's not quite as thick as MGAe or FR vinyl so it's sort of brittle for rerooting with not much 'grip' on the hair. They're very like Star Darlings in that way. The face paint is gorgeous, the eyes are somewhat grainy but do have the advantage of looking fine from the side unlike rainbow high who have unusual profiles. The eyebrows are cute but can make the doll appear slightly distressed from certain angles. They have a deep neckhole that i've cut out to rebody them. I think they make cute 1/6th dolls that mesh well with bratz, monster high, the hasbro disney doll type size of around 5/6" heads. But I wouldn't pay full price for the gimmick, both of mine were aliexpress factory reject heads.

They photograph quite shiny if you don’t bounce the light because I think they use the new UV printing Mattel has been using.

I lucked into Tasty Tail, True Love Tail, and Tinsel Tail for a good price on eBay. The seller had said they were clean and had been through salon treatment, but I’m not so sure their idea of clean or salon treatment meets my standards.

All three had visible dirt and True Love Tail’s tail was braided.

The hair was also an odd texture. It felt silky and smooth to the touch, but would grab the bristles of my comb, making it impossible to work with. I had washed the hair already, but it wasn’t enough. Conditioning helped relubricate the fibers and I was able to fix them up from there.

While I was working on them, Tasty Tails started to rattle, and then her hair fell out.

Initially I was a little upset, because I didn’t know how to get to the insides of a Fairy Tail. I thought the feet were glued into the body like a MLP head is glued to it’s body.

Nope! I noticed the whole feet mechanism was rotating and not JUST the feet themselves, so I gave Tasty Tail a hot-hot bath and popped her feet out.

Not difficult at all to get to both the head-hair and the tail.

Unsurprisingly, they’re installed just like MLP tails, other than that extra plastic bit in the Fairy Tail tail.

That’s the inside of the feet mechanism.

Great news that they come out so easily, because that means that if your Fairy Tail’s feet break and you can get a hold of a replacement feet mech, you can fix your little birdy friend.

Other problems they had were that True Love Tail’s hair is so thin that it schloops down into her head. I gave her that little FailFix Kawaii.Qtee hair clip to hold it in place, but there’s not enough hair for the hair clip, either. So it still slid down into her head.

And Tinsel Tail’s hair was ragged and cut up. I had to trim a lot of short hairs off to make it look nicer.

I had initially meant to fix up all three and then sell 2, but I’m not sure, now. They’re not in the best shape, hair-wise other than Tasty Tail.

Part of my Japanese May toy haul arrived. The two Banpresto Grandista Nero Sasuke Curse Mark prize figures are it. The other two dolls are stuff I got from Amazon using gift cards, since my birthday was on May, and I still have quite a few left. I was thinking of only getting one of the Sasuke figures, because these are a lot more than the other Grandista, but then I got two. I haven’t even unboxed my other three Sasuke Grandista, but here I am hording nonstop. DX

I loathe getting toys from Amazon, because the boxes arrived heavily damaged most of the time, and I’m a MISB hoarder collector. So, I expect my figures and dolls in pristine condition, when I purchase them new. Sadly the Secret Crush doll arrived with a few signs of damage. A few of the plastic zip ties were broken, the limited packaging is torn as it is obvious, and it was all tapped with clear packing tape. I’m guessing it arrived, or traveled that way, but a lot of other stuff I purchase from them is always in horrible condition. As an actual collector, I try not to purchase stuff I want to keep in box from them. However, having everyone I know gifting me virtual gift cards, and a lot of them from Amazon, makes it a pain in the gut hole, not to purchase from them, when I already have balance there. DX

I also got another Kawaii.QTee to unbox and attempt repainting. My mom got me the PrettyArtee, from Walmart, because she finds the concept and the “failed” masks, cute. I’m probably only getting PreppPosh, and hope I don’t want any more of them. They are super cute, but take too much space, and other than for repainting one, I don’t really need more. (:

DJ is the weird one. From what I can see she doesn't have an icon in her pupil; however, I still think she's super cute and I love that she's tall and shows spunk.

Before I say anything about Dance, yes I changed her clothes. She originally comes with this super oversized jersey thing and while I appreciate the theme she's going for, I just thought it was missing out on potential. So instead, she's wearing 2Dreami's jumper.

Her eye-con is a basketball. What can I say, ball is life.
