My dudes, the answer to that question is over 100 years ago - its called a correspondence school. People have been "embodying learning outside the human brain" for millenial, they are called books. An internet with freely available, specially-crafted-for-kids interactive lesson plans, has been around for at least 20 years.

None of that lets your 5 year old drop out of school because they won't fucking do any of it, since learning isn't that fun and my IPad can't take away my snack time if I don't do my multiplication tables. People endlessly rediscovering "the primary problem of education is not pedagogy or information, but social motivation" because forgetting it is convenient for tech hype is incredibly amusing to me.

Cyberweek 2024 Day Five: Crossover

Pfft, I've been on an AvA kick recently, so I guess it's not too surprising that I chose this. On one hand, this crossover works well in theory. The stick figures are all fast, kinetic learners and really good at demonstrating their earned skills and knowledge.

On the other hand, the sheer tonal dissonance is hilarious.

"C'mon kid, sit up." Jason moved to lean Tim back against the dingy alley wall. It had been a normal patrol night for them both. Nothing out of the ordinary, Tim was taking on some low level goons while Jason was across town busting a human trafficking ring. Unfortunately for Tim, these particular low level goons had gotten their hands on some particularly heavy duty weapons and managed to get the drop on him. Luckily, he had been on comms with Jason when the fight got serious. Jason, however, didn't notice that something was amiss until Tim had stopped responding completely. He did his best to wrap the bust up quickly so he could hightail it to Tim's last known location. By the time Jason got there it was obvious that things had gone south rather rapidly.

He could just barely make out Red Robin's cape in the middle of a circle of goons who were, essentially, curbstomping his little brother into the ground.

Now, Tim had definitely done his best to fight back. There were several goons scattered around the alley in various states of distress. Some were on the ground unconscious, others were greviously injured but too proud to leave. All of them were going to deeply regret their life choices in a few minutes. "First things first," Jason hummed to himself. "Take out the garbage." He made his way methodically through the gang, starting with the ones that were already down and moving his way closer to where Tim was having the crap kicked out of him. It didn't take long for the majority of the goons to get the hint and leave. There were a few stragglers that thought that it was a good idea to try their new gear on the Red Hood. It was not a good idea. In fact, it was an incredibly stupid idea because they forgot that the Hood uses guns and was not afraid to kill a man.

Once everyone but Tim and himself had cleared out, Jason dropped down on his knees by his brother's prone body. The first thing Jason thought to do was poke at him, but as soon as was probably not the best thing to do. A quick precursey glance over his body revealed a visibly broken arm and ribcage, a swollen jaw and a very large, bleeding head wound which was definetly cause for concern. Tim had definitely been through worse, the missing spleen was no joke, but that didn't necessarily mean that Tim was currently doing alright. Jason was very careful as he shifted Tim to an upright position against the wall. He took a moment to brush Tim's hair out of his forehead and adjust the domino mask resting against his face. It wasn't long after that that Tim began to stir. He blinked sluggishly up at Jason, eyes blurry and unseeing.

"Mornin' sleepin' beauty. Have a nice nap?" Tim blinked again, clearly struggling to process the situation.

"Wah ya doin' here? Wah 'append?" Tim sounded very similar to how he did after waking up in the morning before he had his mandatory coffee and Jason had to fight to keep the fond smile off his face at the sleepily slurred question.

"Ya got the crap kicked outta ya, kid." He watched a Tim looked down at himself before flopping his head to lean back against the dirty brick behind him.

'S tha all? 'M tired, Jay. 'Mma take a nap." His eyes started to slide closed and Jason could feel himself panic. It was very likely that Tim had a concussion and head injuries were definitely something to take seriously.

"Hey, no no, hey kid. C'mon, I need ya to stay awake for me. Okay? Open yer eye. That's it. How many fingers am I holdin' up?" He gentily jostled Tim to get his attention before holding up all five fingers on his right hand. Tim took a second to squint at the hand before giving a half-hearted shrug and closing his eyes again, head swinging forward to rest on Jason's shoulder infront of him.

"D'nno, like eight?" Jason let out a soft chuckle at the petulant answer. Yeah, he definitely had a concussion, but that was okay, cause Jason was there to take care of him. "C'mon replacement, I think it's time we got ya home to Alfred."
