You've probably answered a question like that before but what would you say was your favorite episode of each of the rlm "shows" (for lack of a better word) if you had to pick one from each? Interpret "favorite" however you want

I actually haven't gotten an ask of this sort before! The closest I can think of was when I ranked the Halloween BOTW sets. I know you prob meant like HITB, BOTW and Re:View but like I'm gonna go a bit more extensive and include other small series they have. I'm gonna leave out anything Spitballs bc idc and anything Plinkett-related bc in the 100 years I've been watching them I skimmed through like the first part of the phantom menace review and Nothing Else.

Going to start with Re:View bc it's fuckin' easy. It's Obviously the FWWM Re:View. It's what got me into Twin Peaks, and it means a lot to me. In hindsight Jay's kinda off with some of his takes (nothing Bad, just a different perspective as a massive Donnie Darko fan and projecting too much of that dynamic into the movie):

BOTW-wise this might be a super normie pick but like it's a good BOTW for a reason. Best of the Worst: Wheel of the Worst #16. Jackpots guy followed by Surviving Edged Weapons was too great. You can kinda see that They themselves Knew this was going to be a BOTW Classic because when Mike tells Jay to talk about the tape he's Legitimately Nervous over Talking about it. ("Oh man...this is a lot of pressure...I don't know if I can do this..."):

For HITB...I'm sorry but this one's going to be a complete cop-out, (but hey at least I didn't choose the Death Cure HITB...) it's Half in the Bag Episode 138: 2017 Movie Catch-up (part 2 of 2). When I think of what I want from them review-wise it's honestly like... pointed discussions about a movie or show and this delivers exactly that. Whenever they go a little too deep they often dig themselves into a grave of either caring about something too small and inane or something they think is funny but isn't at all (cough Mike's tangents cough) so honestly letting them talk for only a few minutes tops about a movie is the absolute sweet spot. The reviews where the entire discussion is good are rare imo:

Of __ and __ Talk About I wanna say... probably Rich and Jay talk about the Boys? Just because it's the only show/movie I gave a fuck about among this series? I don't get what Rich sees in Garth Ennis' work specifically bc he's kind of a suckass but the show itself was interesting to find out more about regardless through them:

Of Nerd Crew I have to go for The Nerd Crew: Episode 2, the bit with the nerd box+geek crate was fucking hilarious. Not to mention the ending where Rich knocks over the cameras... I imagine Mike prepared the Nerd Box and Jay the Geek Crate? Just because Mike seemed to comment a lot more on the nerd box' contents (Rich said too that the knock-off Rey figure inside it was his doing) and seemed bewildered by the geek crate while Jay laughed nervously at everything Rich took out of it. ig by now they've put together enough Mini Docs to have a playlist for them so I'll pick one out of those too - I have to go for We Finally Watched Nukie: The VHS Grading Video just because the fact that it lead up for years from them collecting all those Nukies to joking about donating to charity in their trivia video, their tape destructions etc...And the entire video is just legitimately well-put together:

Talking about Trivia...of those videos I like the first one (Star Trek Trivia Showdown: Mike vs Jay (Episode 1 of 2,873)) the best just because it tortured Jay specifically. That's it that's the entire reason I shan't pretend otherwise. From the Dudebros I have to go for Dudebros Episode 3 - The Dinner Surprise, ig out of all of them it was on the meatier (no pun intended) side (unlike Too Glose for Comfort) and the choices in this one are the most bizarre out of all I think...I'd like to have been a fly on the wall as they decided that Nate should cum in his pants over watching Tommy and Ronnie eat:

I'm not gonna name a season from the Grabowskis I think it would be too cheap for me to not pick a specific episode so I'll go for the third season episode where Honey gets chosen as the Face of the company Wings and Things and Cliff thinks she's gonna leave him. The whole ep makes me think that they cared a lot about the show at some point, or at least enough to make a cute little pigeon trap prop:

Genuinely, how do you work with the lc 3d models n render them so cool!? Especially the customizations, I see a ton of lc skins but I don't know what ppl work with or how they do it so well!!

SHEER WILL POWER.

But for actual answers, the short answer is a lot of fuckery. And the long answer is

Firstly all the shit I do is in Blender, and it involves a lot with the camera and the posing of whoever I'm playing around with. My rule is that if it's not gonna be seen by the camera angle in the final render, then I really don't have to give a shit about how it looks. It only has to look good for the camera. A small example of this is with Fencer, because his tailcoat is just a little jank, I have to move it around a bunch for it to look good, which results in it clipping through his ass. Yet, you're not gonna see that ever in a render now, will ya ?

Another example is something in my most recent render, in which Doc is slightly clipping through the floor just so I could get him in the right position for the camera, but I didn't have to care about this because it's only his upper half showing ! (Also from here out, I'll probs be using the render as prime example so yay)

Another thing I do (sometimes) is if there's more than 1 element in the piece, I will render them out into separate PNGs with transparency. This will include the characters, the background, foreground, etc or whatever I need.

NOW WE MOVE ONTO PAINTING OVER IT ! This is where I take everything into my main program, FireAlpaca, and touch everything up to look nice. One of the main things I do is fix up shading / texture / clipping mistakes. Here are some examples of that

Painting over everything also allows me to add small, fun details to the render ! Such as the small rim lights, glow, shine, blur- fun things that would otherwise make me want to rip my hair out doing in Blender ! I also adjust the contrast / colors to how I want them, and paint on some of the lighting if I feel like it's needed.

And then after applying overlay textures (if any) and a bunch of other small things, the render's done yayyyy !

There's probably a couple things I could do in Blender to ease up this process, but this is just how I personally enjoy doing my renders. If you look around, there's most likely tutorials or smth to get cool effects in the program itself and waste less time, it's just that I'm a little pea-brained and don't wanna bother with that LOL

Moving onto custom suits, I just use a cruddy scavenger model from sketchfab to easily texture paint on for the suits. Cosmetics (hats, visors, items, etc) are completely modeled by hand and not pre-made assets, either by friends or me. Texture painting and modeling is an even LONGER thing to explain, at least from my perspective, but there are a bunch of tutorials out there for that kind of stuff, and also tutorials on how to create your own custom LC stuff !

(We know that in this pov, the person dating Homelander is a woman, as I presume Homelander is aggressively nationalist American, for the memes, but also because of songs you’ll see later on) Here, the girl, and Homelander are just having a great time. They have just started dating, and they listen to classically American songs, as is reminiscent of Homelander’s character. Though, there is a message within the patriotic songs that this isn’t right, with the song “Tainted Love”. Crucified has a message of “I know this isn’t right, but leave me alone.” We’ll see Christian imagery come up time and time again. This goes on for a while. All the way up until Layla, I imagine. Here, we see a shift, as this song still has that classic American feel, but it has no lyrics. Perhaps, this is where the girl starts to have a shift in mood.

Arc 2: Trouble in Paradise

The musics stops being highkey energetic, and is more lowkey.

Here, with GOLDWING, we get a song telling someone to remain pure and untraumatized, as the interpretation on Genius reads. This could be a message to Homelander, as the girl naïvely thinks that the critics are all wrong, and Homelander should stay just the way he is. It could also, and I think this is the more likely interpretation, be a message to the girl dating Homelander to please stop seeing him, as things could go bad real soon, if she doesn’t get out.

In the Lana Del Rey section, the girl is just dating Homelander, I think.

She - Harry Styles

This song talks about a man who is working, and has a normal life, though he seems unhappy, and wishes he could just get away from it all, if he had the chance. While the woman, who we can assume is his wife, is dreaming about having an affair with the singer of the song. Harry later goes on to say that the man plays pretend, so it’s possible that Harry is the one who is dreaming of an affair with her, while she may not reciprocate those feelings.

In the context of this playlist, it could mean that either Homelander or the girl doesn’t really love the other, and is just “playing pretend”. Again, with the themes of urging “get out, while you still can. This isn’t right.” Everything may look ok on the surface, but it’s all not really real on the inside.

Judas is known to be a traitor in the bible. Yet, he’s a big Christian figure. So here, I think the girl laments her love for a big, powerful figure, knowing that it’s wrong but she can’t help it. Later the girl probably realizes that she doesn’t really like Homelander and dates a girl instead, like in Good Luck, Babe! → LUNCH

I looked ahead to the songs I recognized

Homelander is dating a rich girl with internalized homophobia and neglectful parents who don’t really love her as much as they should, and she’s a super freak from the streets. Homelander doesn’t really love her, and moreso just sees her as a fun toy of his. They have a great time, though there are signs that the relationship is toxic, but the girl decides to ignore them anyway. There’s another girl, stylized by the voice of harry styles, who longs to be with her instead, noting that the two of them don’t really like eachother like she could love her. Then, maybe the girl starts to realize what’s wrong, and agrees to see the other girl, and they have an affair. (The girl has kids, though maybe they aren’t married.) Then, Homelander finds out, they have an argument, and they break up. Homelander then gets really upset, and starts to catch feelings for real. He then stalks the girl, threatening her, as it all comes to a head as he blows up a high school. The message is clear: Marry me, or it’s over for you. (The other girl also brought up the fact that she’d like to marry her at some point :( ) Time skip!! Years pass, and she thinks longingly of the other girl. Homelander and the girl are married now, (cuz she’d be dead if she hadn’t), and the other girl goes looking for the girl. But, the girl is in denial, and wants to stay in the marriage. They still keep the affair going, though. (Wow, talk about internalized homophobia, huh. Not to mention the fact that she doesn’t want to leave the marriage, even when she’s clearly unhappy with it.) The other girl is gracefully sad, hoping the girl can love her back, because right now she doesn’t show it. Then Homelander goes on a villain arc and horribly mistreats the girl. The girl starts to realize that she’s dating a monster (cannibal). He finds out that the girl and the other girl are still seeing each other and goes mad crazy. (😢 concerned) The girl decides to fight back, thanks to the other girl urging her to do so, and she takes down Homelander (but doesn’t kill) and they escape. They two of them are happy, but Homelander is upset, and finally lets go of the idea of keeping her for himself and vows to take revenge. But… some divine force attacks him, and he gets his comeuppance. Finally. Deserved. And now the two girls can freely date, but after they are happy for a little while, the girl faces her own internalized homophobia, and withdraws because of her “problems”. (Tbf she is a bit crazy, but that’s ok!!!!) They separate for a while, the other girl is crestfallen, while the girl deals with it poorly, coping through fame, gambling, and alcohol and other people. They meet up again, unexpectedly, at a coffee shop (or somewhere they both used to come together, it doesn’t even say that that’s just my guess) and they try to agree to be friends, but then the other girl admits that she doesn’t want to, and the girl tries to explain how she’s broken and her tragic family backstory. The other girl insists on loving her, even through it all. 🥹 The other girl is holding on for dear life, but the girl keeps pushing her away, dealing with the turmoil that is her internalized homophobia, along with her other toxic traits, but it’s mostly that she’s not a monster like Homelander was, but now she’s left with the consequences of having that power. 😣 Then, she cheats, because they were “on a break” or something like that. The other girl kinda gets fed up with loving her, only to get nothing in return, so she decides to kill her. Or maybe. I don’t really know at this point. It all gets a bit confusing from here, but in short, the girl goes on the run, but basically ends up becoming Homelander 2.0, and we see a mirror of the events from before playing out, but this time, instead of the girl dying, the other girl just leaves her, disappointedly. Guess the other girl couldn’t fix her, after all. She finds her own happiness in the end 🙂 With a girl who treats her right!!!! 😤

Also I think it was the girl who was half the age of Homelander this whole time 😕 :/

Misc. Fae and Gwydion Headcanons!

since courting the crown wont give the lore we deserve 😤

It was mentioned that Fae don’t need much sleep, but whenever you and him are together and you need sleep, Gwydion loves laying with you and holding you while you rest. Could he be doing other things? Yeah, but his favorite thing is being around you.

He’ll read or simply lay there thinking about how lovely it is to hold you.

The only reason he wouldn’t be laying with you is if something important comes up that requires his attention. If he needs to leave and won’t be back by the time you wake up, he leaves you a cute little note for you and gives you a loving kiss on the forehead.

It was mentioned that Fae parties often last days. Obviously, there’s no way you’d be able to party for so long, and Gwydion knows that well. The moment he senses you need to get away and get some rest, the two of you sneak off.

When I imagine Fae parties, I think of something similar to a renaissance festival. There are archery competitions, music, dancing, games, kids running around with ribbons.

When it gets darker, there are bonfires, more dancing, and food. Stories are traded and everything is still particularly high energy.

After visiting you in Arvore and experiencing how slowly, yet pleasantly things move there, he finds himself wanting to step away from Fae parties every now and then. He loves the energy and indulgence, but sometimes he just needs a little break with you.

Which is all the easier if you’re the type of person who also needs to step away from time to time.

You can absolutely bet he’s gonna be showing you how the Fae dance and party though!

Even though Gwydion was considered quite distant, Fae are very much connected, which is why humans really wouldn’t consider him distant. Friends and family often bathe together, and stranger danger is pretty much nonexistent because no one is strangers to eachother.

Sometimes Gwydion forgets this when he’s with you. It just slips his mind that humans are more strict, in a way, with who you bathe with and who you’re “allowed” to be vulnerable with

Which leads to some amusing situations early on in your relationship that involves you being flustered, but not necessarily uncomfortable with how casual he is with that stuff.

The endearing thing about it is that he doesn’t forget that when he’s around any human except for you. He just completely forgets with you because of how fast you guys connected (even if it was because of magic).

Compared to the strict environment you grew up in, Gwydion is like a breath of fresh air; an open field you can stretch out in and just let yourself be.

During the transition to a new year, Isla del Strella has a tradition of shooting shining arrows through the sky to celebrate Astrellio. It is said that every single year, Astrellio responds with shooting stars of his own, marking the beginning of the new year

During this transition to the new year, it is tradition for elders to shoot off arrows alongside children, to symbolize the passing of generations.

It’s a mix of formal and rowdy. How Fae somehow balance this so perfectly? You may never know.

But the first time you experience it? How can you not love it? Even as the only human there, you don’t feel out of place.

And, to be honest, Gwydion finds these events even more enjoyable with you around. Seeing you in his realm, looking at these things that are normal to him with such wonder and joy makes him feel all warm inside.

He often finds himself asking you what you think of it. He can feel how you feel, but he wants to hear the thoughts that accompany such wonderful feelings.

Your thoughts, your feelings, give him an entirely new perspective on almost everything about the realm he grew up in. The realm he is the leader of. Somehow, you have something to say or feel about every new thing that he had never thought or felt about it.

Of course, with visiting the land of the Fae, you get to see all sides of them.

Gwy is probably one of the least mischievous Fae you know compared to the others. Of course, you’re just as clever.

“May I have your name?” A Fae boldly asks.

Gwydion opens his mouth to stop the trickery, but your amused laughter cuts him off.

“You may not have it, but you may know it,” you respond slyly, earning a bright smile from the Fae.

“Oh! Oh they’re as clever as the rumors say! I wasn’t gonna keep it anyway, I know better than to be so rude. Worry not, Gwydion.”

The Faefolk are tricky, but they aren’t malicious. Nothing to worry about.

lastly, since you visit Isla del Strella more often, you find yourself with quite a few fae friends. While Gwydion is busy with his tasks that you aren’t much help with, you and your new friends will have fun running in fields, napping in the moonlight, and making eachother flower crowns.

Very interesting article on who is Nick

(Thank you to the awesome person that taggued me on the twitter post, much appreciated).

I’m glad the article dwells on Nick’s complicated past because it’s not something many people seem to understand. I think that even as ambiguous as the show loves to present him, we have gotten puzzle pieces that paint us a picture of who he is. Most of the complaints stem from him not doing enough against the system but that could be debated. We have mostly seen him do things for June because most people take risks for the people they love. Once they lose everything (like for example June) then they become reckless and their fight becomes more against the system/revenge. Yet his involvement with Mayday has been shown (contraband - June’s first escape - June’s second escape - Martha convo in 405 - Hannah’s file)

We also don’t know what he knew after he took the job Pryce offered, what he saw and what he was forced to do; or even if he was on board at first only to realize it had been a mistake. We only see him driving the commanders after the take over had happened, precisely discussing the handmaid situation. We can assume he knew about the rounding up of woman, but we can also assume he didn’t. After all some people outside of Gilead believe Handmaids volunteer (Mexican ambassador) or that it’s a punishment (Omar’s wife). We also know a lot of people were forced to comply or die (American soldier that speaks with Moira after crossing the border). We do know that he is NOT a Gilead believer. Why he stays, what’s he been doing is not something the show has given us clarity to. Like I said we have puzzle pieces throughout the seasons to sort of build his character.

It’s also because Nick is a man and currently a Commander. A lot of people think men cannot be victims in a patriarchal society and I disagree. Yes they are in a privileged position but they’re still victims. Even those in power aren’t safe either, especially if you don’t seem loyal or if they want your position. People forget 2 things. He didn’t start off as a commander, he was a driver - low class. Then he became an Eye (after the first handmaid killed herself) and his promotions clearly came after specific events. Concern over June’s mental health and holding up Fred so that June could escape the second time. To me they clearly looked like punishments, direct consequences of his decision to help June. Not one scene shows Nick working towards moving up the ranks. I personally think certain things June has told Nick throughout the seasons have pushed him to do more, especially her call out in S3 “what are you good for”, but that’s my perspective. Besides once the promotion is given it’s not like he could’ve been thanks but no thanks - that’s highly suspicious.

Another thing people discuss is his involvement in the take over. Once again it’s not something that we have been shown. We can assume he participated but I cannot believe he was essential to the success of the operation. If he was such an important piece of the puzzle he wouldn’t have started as a driver. He would’ve stayed as a military officer, prob not a commander because of his lower class pre Gilead, his age and he wasn’t a main player in the SOJ.

Another thing that’s interesting to me is that we know Nick was young when the take over happened. Let’s say between 18-21 so his young adult male life was shaped by Gilead, which is extremely misogynistic. It’s easier to shape young men into hating women or making them believe they are superior to us. We see how the guardians act, the Commanders - the disdain towards “unwomen”. Yet from my perspective I do not see Nick as misogynistic at all.

Yes I enjoy the romantic aspect of Nick and June, but I do enjoy the complexities of Nick’s character outside of June. I’ve always seen him as the least misogynistic male character of the show and as a character that represents so many things that open discussions of topics that are rarely discussed.

With the radio scene in the show we know communication is possible but Tommy never gave a shit.. like you said, he’s basically living in luxury but never seemed to give a shit about his brother. And then also told Maria shit about Joel? Nah fam. I’m very conflicted with Tommys character, he makes me so mad but then Joel is just so happy to see him again.. Joel deserves better!! (And I’m so glad he’s gonna have better with him aka Gwen!)

I agree with all of this tbh. They lived two very different lives. Joel literally thinks that something happened to Tommy when he no longer responds to his radio messages and we know that Joel fights for family. That’s literally been his drive to staying alive is family. So for him to then find out that Tommy has been ignoring him because of Maria AND he’s living in luxury the entire time….yeahhh it rubs me the wrong way too bestie so you’re not alone on this!

Gwen probs isn’t gonna be a huge fan of him either but she tries and looks at things from both perspectives so she can get the whole story. I imagine she will probably tell Tommy at some point that Joel was worried sick about him. Not to necessarily make him feel bad, but just for him to realize that Joel has been through hell to get to this point. The Jackson chapters are awhile away, but I’ve already got plans for them lol

Also to add, Tommy acts like Joel was the only one who had done bad things and killed a lot of people. Like uh just because you got your redemption arc, doesn’t mean you get to hold the past against Joel still? Like both of them killed a lot of people but Tommy’s got a pregnant wife and is living his best life, but STILL looks down on Joel for what THEY did.

the thing is i think belle would pretty much wanna go see Any movie. like i don’t consider her a film buff but i think she’s like “any movie could be good!!! we have to give it a chance!!!” and since they Have the money to frequent the theater, they probably do go on a lot of movie dates. from adam’s perspective, however, he’s insanely picky about what he wants to see. nine times out of ten he has almost no interest in this random film that got poor reviews that belle has not stopped talking about since breakfast. that being said, belle is pretty good at getting her grumpy boy out of the house and out of his comfort zone, so he generally goes. (if he’s really opposed though she’ll be calling lumiere and/or plumette OR her father immediately — she’s also not against going to the movies by herself but that worries adam (because everything worries adam)).

if, however, adam HAS gone to the movie with her, yeah they’re 100% arguing about it. i mean it’s not always an argument, they just like to dissect everything together. it’s their love language <3 they’ll be analyzing motifs and themes and arcs and all that garbage. they often will have opposing opinions which leads to fun debates, but sometimes they both loved it and are just praising it all the way home! (or both hated it and are ranting lmao)

SNACKS !!! belle’s a classic popcorn gal. she’s not much of a sweet tooth though but i could see her getting a sour candy as well. adam IS a sweet tooth and definitely gets a couple candies, leaning more toward chocolate ones like m&m’s and junior mints. next time i go to the theater i’ll try to figure out what his go-to would be, because his autistic ass would definitely get the exact same thing every time hahah. aaand they prob get one water to share, belle may get a soda or something too if she’s feeling crazy (adam tells her not to because then she’ll have to pee in the middle and he’ll have to explain everything to catch her up and he doesn’t want to do that) (she will still order the soda and pee later and ask adam to explain what she missed) (adam will still explain it) (they have a beautiful marriage)

they probably sit near the top and middle, out of habit of knowing exactly where to sit in the theatre (stage theatre) to hear the best sound.

adam often thinks these movies are a mistake, but belle is an optimist to a fault and will always give it a chance to see it through to the end. (if she ended up not liking it though, adam has a very lovely “i told you so” day)

DISCLAIMER! this is my interpretation based on canon, my own thoughts and a few fics i've read, for my own characterisation of jackie <3

so aside from all of the wasted potential of her parents' emotional and physical abandonment being involved in, idk - her STORY ARCS that might actually last for more than an episode at a time maybe (massive massive amounts of shade @ t70s writers & showrunners)

i also have to talk about the wasted potential of her parents' attitude towards her when they are actually physically and emotionally present.

her mother, pam, seems to be somewhat of an alcoholic, and her father, jack, seems to be a social climber somewhat, or born into blood money. I'm going with the perspective that he was born into a high-society environment - still worked hard but had that leg up already.

ignoring the writers' inconsistencies with this and basically disregarding most mentions of pam in season 1, we can paint a picture of a bored ex-housewife who has given up on sticking around the house and who travels almost constantly, acting as though she is completely single with no strings. I believe this started just before jackie started highschool. to me, it appears as though pam was around when jackie was a child, had a real estate business (if we take season 1 into account) and wasn't involved in things very much - which makes sense, considering the family hires staff to take care of everything, including jackie, so pam doesn't have to.

jack, on the other hand, wasn't around. this is directly referenced in season 1, on career day (??) when red is teaching her Car Things (idk anything about cars im 25 and cant drive). she says jack works hard and isn't around much to teach her things like this, essentially. I'm willing to take this a step further and propose that jack was only occasionally ever at home, and when he was, tension with pam was high.

jack, though, i believe, really loves jackie. she is his pride and joy - he just is too emotionally stunted to show it in any way aside from buying her gifts and expensive things, which has made jackie equate money and materialism with love. unfortunately, he goes to jail before she can really start to build an adult relationship with her - essentially officially abandoning her.

i recently read a fic where jack had a whole secret family, and i think this could be really interesting to think about, but i don't think i'll include this in my interpretation of jackie. (the fanfic is Hyde's Long Way Home and it's probs the best fic i've ever read so READ IT fr)

in this fic, pam was VERY psychologically abusive to jackie, and this is something i'd like to explore and adopt in my own characterisation. it really adds a layer to her (deserved) hostility to her mother and her reluctance to contact her. basically, pam says some nasty shit to jackie when she becomes a teenager and her prettiness comes into play. she becomes jealous when jackie starts dating and she's stuck with a husband she never sees and doesn't love anymore. her comments and remarks are always based on the fact she has more experience than her daughter and that her daughter's friends find her attractive / she knows they moon over her. if pam is as delulu as jackie is, then she is convinced all of jackie's friends want to bang her tbh.

she makes this known to jackie, sometimes quite crudely, and it eats away at her slowly, coinciding with kelso's constant cheating and hyde's emotional walls and commitment issues. Even worse when her mother returns from her travels in new mexico because she 'got bored' - NOT because she wanted to see jackie - and her male friends immediately go bananas over her. (apart from hyde, because he's smarter than that. speaking of which, jackie doesn't tell a soul about this treatment from her mother, including him)

with this interpretation in mind, think jackie knows that her mother doesn't want the responsibility of having a daughter. she knows that pam has impossible standards and is more materialistic than she can bare to be. jackie learns a lot of social cues and attitudes from her, which she spends a lot of the time throughout canon (and beyond in my interpretation) trying to reverse. hyde helps her do this a lot when they're together.

if pam had wanted to see jackie, she'd have come home when her father went to prison and she had no guardian to look after her. her immediate relationship with bob instead of focusing on repairing her relationship with jackie shows us that she hasn't changed and isn't interested in her daughter.

jackie is so used to trying to persuade her mother to want to be around her and she is so used to putting all of her hopes for attention from her father into gifts and material possessions that she is really demanding towards her other relationships too. she thinks she has to pressure people and tell people exactly what she wants in order to get it because she never gets any sort of love by just being herself usually. when she doesn't get what she wants, it's a rejection, and is super triggering to her - her thoughts go 'if ___ doesn't give me ___ they don't love me and i really am unlovable. if i'm unlovable, they'll leave me, and i have to a) stop that from happening or b) leave first before they can see they've hurt me'.

a) means completely freaking out and panicking. she'll go into overdrive and break down, have a hysteria moment, mostly authentically, sometimes manipulatively (i.e running out of the room because she can't handle her emotions vs crying to get hyde to go to the prom with her)

b) really is temporary. she will never leave someone permanently, as seen throughout the show. even when she closes the door on kelso for good (we aren't counting 90s here) she is still good friends with him and loves him in a different way. she doesn't stop loving, and this is one of the admirable things about her.

jackie is so full of love and she's only ever wanted someone to want it.

I think we all blame Merlin a little too much on things aren't exactly his fault. him being the main character kinda pushes the narrative into blaming him because he feels guilty, despite evidence to the contrary.

like I often hear people saying Morgana wouldn't have gone evil if Merlin had been more honest with her. but even though he kept his magic from her when she probably deserved to know, he still accepted her magic when she told him. she confided in him about her magic, her fears and her feelings on uther and Merlin was there for her. he listened to her and supported her, accepted her magic even though in Camelot most people wouldn't. having an ally like that in a place where there isn't many makes the world of difference.

after Merlin sends her to the druids, we don't really see her confiding in him again. she didn't have to feel quite as lonely as she did because merlin would've been there for her.

in the witchfinder, when Merlin is accused of magic, Morgana doesn't stand up for him. because one, she was likely in shock and two, she doesn't want to implicate herself. there's almost a sense of 'him or me' in the episode because when you're oppressed you're terrified you'll be found out. so both Merlin and Morgana don't make the most of a friendship which could've been so much more to them - they could've helped eachother feel less isolated, listened to eachothers woes, guided eachother from darkness when it beckoned.

Merlin doesn't take any action against Morgana, even though he's being incessantly told to, he shows her kindness. until in the fires of idirsholas. Morgana is on the precipice here, between good and evil - she knows she's the center of this spell but doesn't tell Merlin or Arthur. again, because she doesn't want to put suspicion on herself. merlin doesn't do anything to her until Arthur's life is on the line - he waits and waits until if he didn't stop this spell, Arthur would die.

in the later season we hear Morgana blame uther for what happened to her, then Arthur for following in his footsteps. she's bitter that Merlin poisoned her, but never brings up when she had the chance to confide in him, when he was her only ally. she doesn't blame him for her being alone, only for ruining her and morguese's plans.

but Merlin blames himself for all of this, for not being better to Morgana, for not trusting her with his magic, for making rash decisions and eventually for poisoning her. he bears the burden of how Morgana turned out, because he had knowledge she didn't. knowledge that could've changed things but, like Morgana, he was scared.

that's not to say Merlin telling Morgana of everything he knew about destiny and magic would've stopped her from betraying Camelot. I think Morgana was built to stand up against the oppressors, she always fought against uther when she disagreed with him. and this manifested over years of loneliness and fear that I don't think Merlin could've prevented.

it was a combination of choices from so many different people that led Morgana to join Morguese and those like her. while merlin undoubtedly holds some of the responsibility, it's unfair to say he was the catalyst for her turning to dark ideas when things that didn't even involve him (like in to kill the king) planted the seeds for her defection.

after rewatching the fundy's mind stream, i absolutely fucking refuse that the lnv ending is the last we'll see of him and quackity. no. i cannot accept it. i genuinely feel like there has to be one more lore stream.

i'll probs make a proper re-analysis post of the entire stream, but for now, i think we can confirm that a few things:

the forewarned mystery man is quackity.

if this is the case, then something quackity will do will destroy fundy as per what the book says.

there is still an unknown truth the books keep secret from fundy since it believes it may "hurt" him.

it makes sense, then, that the "go to sleep" comments could be metaphors for fundy to remain ignorant of this forbidden truth.

the thing is, i think fundy has found this forbidden truth. what do i think it is? well, based on his meetup with wilbur, it might have to do with the fact that he will never get the recognition that will satiate his longing hunger for it.

it's a long jump, i know, but we know that this is the one truth that fundy dismisses all the time. the core of his need for recognition stems from his lack of approval from wilbur. this is why he jumps from nation to nation, person to person. he wants to amend this, but as we know in the dsmp, closure is a luxury.

others' approval of him may be lackluster, but the alternative is to accept that nothing others will say can fix his lack of closure from wilbur, his lack of self-worth.

but when he first accepts it, when he first rejects this mindset, he hurts. he admits it in front of wilbur, then he jumps.

like what the book says, the truth will hurt him. it's hard to stomach the idea that nothing comes out of the hard work you've exerted into something.

which brings us to this question: how in the hell did he internalize this perspective? for the longest time, fundy utilizes others to patch his self-worth, or he submits to vulnerability and says he misses wilbur. but we never find him internalize the possibility that closure is never attainable.

cue: alex quackity. he HAS to be involved somehow, i know it.

in the book, it mentions how this mystery man—now established as quackity—will do something to hurt fundy and destroy everything he cares about. the book even warns him to not join lnv due to these facts. but as we know, fundy joins lnv.

however, most interactions we've seen of quackity and fundy are, i feel, still at the beginning of something bigger. fundy has not established much of a big role in lnv, nor have we seen him and quackity get into anything past the introduction stages.

but in the book, we know quackity has to have ruined something. it's forewarned that he'd destroy an aspect of fundy's life. so, what is it?

more than anything, i think quackity has got to do with fundy letting go of his recognition-chasing mindset. i don't know how he does it, but it would make sense. if it's hinted that what quackity does would "hurt fundy and destroy everything he cares about", what more can he do than break fundy's dependency on people altogether? say or do something so fucked that it practically ruins fundy, becoming his final push to let his mindset go?

then, the "hurt" quackity would cause would be fundy's jump. "destroy everything he cares about" would be less "i will physically destroy all your attachments," and more "i will ruin your perspective on your attachments so you dettach them from your life yourself."

this would then coencide with fundy's current isolation arc, when he doesn't allow himself to care for other people at ALL. not even a smidge of care, because quackity has tarnished it.

THUS, I FEEL LIKE THERE SHOULD BE ONE MORE LORE STREAM. to give context on as to HOW quackity ruined fundy. it just makes sense and would tie some loose ends of his dream plotline together.

-he likes when you greet him in the morning. will absolutely roll his eyes and say sum “jesus, idiot, it’s too fuckin’ early for pathetic enthusiam like that” but will also simultaneously get pouty if u dont say hi to him first

-very much a quiet boy when it’s late at night. will just sit back with his eyes half-lidded and head in his hands, giving a little “mhm” to everything you say. you think he’s not listening but when you don’t finish a thought he will, without missing a beat go “the hell? really? gonna talk that much and then not even finish the story?”

-will cook meals that you like but will insist that he likes them too. bakugou is 100% trying to convince you that he made it for himself but the entire extra portion with your favorite toppings implies the opposite

-pays attention to what you’re doing in training, and will not outright tell you if you’re doing well,, but when ur alone he’ll just sorta “you looked less pathetic than last time, dumbass” with a slight smirk as he brushes past you

-likes to bicker,, i mean come on, obviously, but what i mean is that he just looks so weirdly happy when u yell at him (def goes heart eyes but literally do not say a word about it pls)

-goes very soft for hand massages,,, just like, ground ur thumb into the heel of his hand and rub at his knuckles. man’s will melt into wherever he’s sitting and close his eyes

-will absolutely bite your head off if you’re reckless, but then spend the rest of his time trying to think of ways to avoid u ever being in that much danger again

-has a specific blanket that he keeps for when u hang out. eventually it starts to smell like you, bc obviously, n he’ll cuddle up with it when you can’t be with him

bakugou is a fine, well written character and i've warmed up to him lately (for obvious manga spoiler reasons.. which i will go into so spoiler warning) but it has long rubbed me the wrong way how midoriya's perspective on being his bullying victim has been and still continues to be very subdued or at a standstill. every time its come up between the two, it has been about bakugou's struggle and development. [cut for length]

beyond the story being deliberately written that way by a person with their own biases and preferences (which is fair), it is a consequence of 1. midoriya having not really taken a look at his life and himself, since he hasnt been encouraged/forced to do so like bakugou repeatedly has (getting physically maimed doesnt seem to ring any warning bells for him whatsoever) since he got an opportunity for greatness that exists outside of himself (/is bigger than himself), and which keeps him very busy and distracted. PLUS his views of himself and what he should be align with the mha society's views on how a hero should act (striving for a singular, unbreakable, selfless symbol of peace) which means theres not similiar outside pressure for deep introspection, and 2. from a storytelling perspective, bakugo being tightly wound in midoriyas view of himself - he looks up to bakugo and wants to beat him, because he values bakugou's views and drive... which is likely also why he has taken bakugou's "useless" nickname to heart, and every failure he faces as he's desperately trying to claw his way out of that moniker (or trying to change the meaning of it on its head) makes him feel worthless all over again, but still unable to take a deeper look at himself. Which is why he fights so hard against it, trying to become a hero who goes against that core view of himself which had been cultivated over years and years of bullying and even physical assault.

like... midoriya really really looks up to and admires bakugou and his opinion (not all of them, just.. he's definitely affected by things he does and says), thus it would make sense that only once bakugou acknowledges and openly regrets their shared past and how he treated midoriya, is Midoriya able to acknowledge to himself how he's been super unfairly treated and hurt. Assuming theres time before shit hits the fan. I do hope we get to see it.

all of that^ seems to be about to be cracked open in canon currently/ soon? I strongly think midoriya's flaws and his desire to prove himself at all costs, and be personally responsible for everything alone (and accompanying lack of consideration to how that belief and attitude belittles the effort and trustworthiness of the people around him) are directly tied to how he was victimized and made feel worthless for being quirkless his whole young life, on top of... Living in a society. bakugo is always the loudest and most personal cause for those feelings, given his proximity to the core of mha's story and themes and physical proximity to midoriya and how their arcs and lives are endlessly intertwined, and how much time is spent on bakugou's development and how bakugo represents a reminder of the "worthless deku" life midoriya tried to leave behind since given OFA quirk (or before that, probs since he was 4) despite also representing the opposite.

i guess ive found it frustrating how long its taken for midoriya's struggle with himself to be acknowledged while bakugo, who can be blamed for a big part of it (tho obviously not shoulder all of the responsibility), had a lot of chapter time spent on him, kept growing and getting better in heaps and bounds, and how the story always seemed to sideline midoriya in favor of bakugo. but as i said, given how the story panned out so far, i have come to peace with it, and the frustration doesnt bother me as much. im glad bakugou's grown so much. im just much more interested in seeing what deku's perspective will look like now, if it shifts for the healthier (i kind of hope he will have the wherewithal to grow a bit more distant from bakugou as he needs to process things, but thats just what id personally prefer)

k so i finished f4 and i just gotta say that the production and cinematography and editing was actually really good. the way the narrative flowed with interjections sometimes was so nice from a stylistic perspective and y'know added to the overarching messages and it was really well made in that respect. however, like every other adaptation, i will never root for the lead guy (in this case, thyme) because the overall romantic storyline perpetuates the toxic message that girls can "fix" their boyfriends and it's their responsibility to bare all that emotional burden and frustration. and like,,, it's 2022,,,, can we not? (don't even get me started on the literal trauma that was inflicted on gorya and how she- as the quintessential strong woman ((except she's literally a seventeen year old girl))- shouldered all of that and had to always be the bigger person). anyways besides the romance being terrible, some things i did like besides the technical parts:

gorya and kaning's friendship: truly a beautiful sisterhood 😭💕

MJ!!!! tbh even tho my eyes naturally went to kavin because win lmao, mj stole every scene he was in. nani was so natural at it and he's actually so opposite to his character irl. @g*m PLS give nani a lead role 🙏🏼 i would watch that drama in a heartbeat

on that note: mj and kavin's friendship 😩💕 they were literally platonic husbands like nani and win were so comfortable w eachother and it was so nice to see that translated through their characters. also mj was literally the glue of that group but i love how kavin listened to everything mj told him to do like a good husband djdnnfnf (also will never be over the tie scene 😭 i love nonchalant, affectionate gestures like that so much)

ren (and gorya): now listen, even though i joked about it, i don't actually want ren and gorya as endgame. would it have made sense? yes absolutely, and it would've been the healthiest relationship ever. but since we got gorya and thyme canon, i really liked that even though they had their past, above all, they remained friends. ik that ren had his emo bad boy moment because he was going thru it @mira but i would say he probably had the most character growth (besides evil mom) in the entire show (ppl would say that would be thyme but i don't count thyme because his growth depended only on gorya, so when she was gone, he went back to his old self. even though yes ren's growth stemmed from heartbreak, he never went back to being an emo ass and just continued to grow and move on. also, thyme is still toxic even at his 'best' self i.e., controlling). even though ren cared for gorya romantically, he only ever cared for her happiness in the end, even if it didn't include him. after his growth, he was nothing but soft with gorya and gave her the option to literally not suffer. but when she still took the hard road he still supported it because it also included thyme, and he loves thyme as much as gorya (can i just say: thyme is so lucky to have f3 by his side 😭). anyways i was SO happy in the final scene with gorya's voice over, where she acknowledged that ren was her first love. because it made it more realistic, and it added a bit of bittersweetness to their romance, the what could've been~, and it was just nice to see that gorya acknowledged that love and they stayed friends and were happy. also further proof that ren is best boy who is full of love and maturity: he was drawing mira a book of all her friends as a wedding gift 😭💕 like mira is literally his first love and she broke his heart BAD but he doesn't resent her and he's doing something so sweet to congratulate her for her wedding. because he loves her. gOD i love ren and all the love he has in his emo little heart 😭😭😭😭

thyme's mom. she was evil but it helped that cindy bishop was playing her because that woman can ACT. the emotional complexity she added to a character that could've easily become flat with micro-expressions alone was just 😚👌🏼 probs a fave villain. and even though it was rushed, it was nice that she didn't stay a villain and that scene with thyme's sister in the car was so sweet :((

thyme's wardrobe. it was atrocious but the best part about his character because it was consistent lmao

The weight of the crown on your head was too much to bear today. You gently set it down onto the grass, next to you in the shade of the giant oak trees above you.

If someone were to ask you what it's like to be a princess, you would say it's a curse. For the past 15 years you've been raised, your father was stern and barely paid any attention to you. Suffering from neglect, you slowly watched him become more and more corrupt with power, forcing the entire kingdom to stay within its walls. As far as the common people knew, the outside was a mysterious place not to be messed with.

That's what power does to people. To have all these abilities at your hands, is a great responsibility. But most rulers toss those away, like a bag of trash being disposed into the garbage can.

You sighed, gazing across to the opposite side of the clearing you were sitting in. You raised your head to look up at the sky. Oh, what I would do to have a different life...

The rustling of leaves caught your attention. You gasped, quickly backing away into the shelter of the trees. Dad can't catch me being here!

"Hey."

You froze as relief washed over you. It wasn't your father.

You weren't allowed to leave the kingdom. Finding loopholes wasn't easy, so you didn't know what you'd do if he found out.

Carefully, you stood up, squinting at the figure standing at the opposite end of the meadow. Slowly, they- or it- stepped into the sunlight. You recognized him from your past adventures. Fern the Human.

"Hi," you replied warily. "What are you doing here?"

"Oh, you know," he said. "Just exploring." Fern wore the same expression he did normally, a blank set of eyes and his mouth set in a straight line.

You nodded, your eyes darting around the clearing, at anything but him. You rarely interacted with outsiders, especially since you weren't allowed outside of your kingdom. So you didn't know how to act. All your social skills started chipping away because you were forced to stay inside all the time. "Princess duties".

"I haven't seen you around here before," the grass boy remarked. "Who are you?"

"Who am I?" I repeated. That was a good question. Every single decision I've had to make and every emotion I've had was decided for me. So much so, that I wasn't sure there was any "me" left.

"I'm Y/N," you replied. Fern tilted his head.

"Where are you from?"

"Um." You struggled to find the words. He couldn't know about the kingdom, or else you would find yourself kicked out. What was even the purpose of telling him? It could only end badly. His curiosity would get the better of him, driving him him to see the kingdom for himself. Would Fern even try to save us?

Even though you wanted to rescue your people badly, the thought of them roaming around aimlessly in the Land of Ooo scared you. They barely knew anything about the outside, and the only information they did know altered their perspective to think of it in a bad light. Besides, what could Fern do to help? He's just one person.

"It's none of your business," you ended up blurting out. "I have to go." Your father wanted you home for the evening anyway. For what, he didn't say.

You turned away before you could hear Fern's reply, dashing off into the dense forest.

Taking a deep breath, you began to form an image of a raven inside your mind. Shapeshifting was still something you weren't good at. You were supposed to follow a certain set of rules as a princess, one of which being that you couldn't shapeshift into your raven form in the presence of other people. It was seen as impolite.

Focus on shapeshifting! You commanded yourself. Finally, you were able to fly, ruffling your wings a bit. You missed being able to soar.

"Wait!" Fern's voice yelled from behind you, his footsteps trodding through the layers of leaves on the forest floor. You sighed, flapping up to the tree tops and taking off. A feeling of dread gradually grew in your chest, facing the reality that you had to go back to your secluded life, with people that ignored and misunderstood you.

As the dark green leaves of the forest zoomed by beneath your feet, you began to wonder whether you should've listened to what Fern had to say. Eh, it probably wasn't important.

Directing your thoughts back to your destination, you vowed to come back to your happy place as soon as possible. It helped clear your head. Hopefully, Fern won't be there next time. The idea of talking to people made you uncomfortable. The people that you've trusted in the past have all either broken your trust, or just didn't care about you at all.

There's a crown here in the bushes, Fern observed, lifting the heavy piece of gold. It was a big ring, with an arm extending upwards, holding a small, rugged black crystal. Interesting.

Turning it over in his hands, something strange caught his eye. A carving on the back of the crown. It was barely illegible, but Fern could make out one name. Y/N.

"Where is your crown?" The Raven King hissed angrily. "The suitors are already here!"

"I don't know, Dad!" You frantically racked your mind, trying to remember where you had left it. A princess' crown was a part of her, as a role model and a symbol. But this time, it represented worth.

"Why are you making me marry someone I don't even know anyway?" You hurriedly glanced at your father, brows furrowed. Your father had invited a group of suitors to compete for your hand in marriage. They desired only the princess' heart, but it wasn't true love, like what you dreamed of as a child. They just wanted land, wealth, and power. Marrying you was their key to a happy life. Without your label as a princess, they would have no opportunity at all.

"You know very well why!" Your father growled. "This is going to be beneficial for the kingdom! Don't you want me to prosper?"

You started walking down the spiraling staircase that lead to the main hallways, unable to stay calm any longer. "I want the people to prosper," you replied, sending a spine-chilling glare to your father behind you. Before he could respond, you stomped away, into the main hallway where a line of antsy suitors stood waiting.

You definitely have a thing for walking out on people.

"Heya, Fern!" A boy wearing a worn, dual-toned green backpack greeted Fern, holding open the door that had separated the two just moments before. "Jake just made some meatloaf! Want some? It has your favorite- I mean our favorite garnishes." Finn grinned.

"No thanks," Fern replied, distracted. His eyes wandered all around the giant treehouse that stood over him, almost menacingly. Despite what Fern wanted to think, there was something about it that made him uneasy. When he thought of the treehouse, he thought of Finn, which in turn caused him to obsess over the fact that he wasn't Finn. Then who was he?

"No probs." Finn sounded a little disappointed, but cheered up when Jake called out that the meatloaf was ready from somewhere inside the house.

"By the way, can I ask you something?" Fern asked, taking something out of his backpack, which tumbled to the ground, causing him to groan in frustration. Finn turned back to his grassy friend while taking a plate of food from the unseen Jake. "What's up?"

He gasped when he saw the golden crown gleaming in the sunlight. "That belongs to one of the princesses!" He picked it up and handed it back to Fern.

Fern nodded, stowing it in his backpack. "I found it in the forest near Tree Trunks' house. I think this girl dropped it," he said.

"Whahf girl?" Finn said, trying to chew meatloaf at the same time. "PB? Fire Princess? Slime P?"

"No." Fern shook his head. "I've never seen her before, and honestly," he said, scratching the back of his neck. "She was scared of me." He sounded frustrated, his voice trailing off.

"Dude-"

"Why doesn't anything ever work out?!" Fern said in anguish. He curled his fingers in and out of his palm, trying to release the tension trapped in his mind.

"Calm down, dude," Finn exclaimed. "I can help you find her, don't worry! I've never seen this crown before either, so we can go together." He placed a hand on Fern's shoulder, trying to comfort him.

"No!" Fern protested. "I wanna do it myself," he said, softer. "Can you just tell me how to find her?"

Finn looked taken aback for a second at his grassy friend's outburst, but nodded regardless. "You can ask the Candy People and the other kingdoms, they probably know who owns that crown." He handed Fern a map of the Land of Ooo, sketched out on a yellowed piece of paper.

Saying their goodbyes, Finn left Fern on his solo quest to find the mysterious princess.

The long and chaotic day was finally over. You sank down to the floor, your back against the door to your room. You stared at the king-sized bed. I hate this. I hate everything.

After you left your father standing on the stairs, you had awkwardly walked into the main hall. But that must have been the last straw for your father, because he still didn't join you, even after five minutes. He ended up sending a replacement to accompany you after a long time of waiting. You wished that the suitors didn't keep glancing at the spot where your crown was supposed to sit while you stood with your hands clasped in front of you, staring at the doorway your father was going to follow you through.

I still have to get the crown back, you thought. Where did I leave it? The only place I would've lost it would be... Then you realized. The clearing! Of course! Oh no, I have to go there right now!

You raced over to the small window in your bedroom, peeking your head out. Seeing practically no one outside, you transformed into your raven form and hopped on the windowsill. Suddenly, an object was hurled at you from below. Looking down, you saw a small child chucking pieces of corn at you.

"Get out of there, you stupid crow!" He yelled. Close enough.

You carefully flapped your wings, flying high above the kingdom. As soon as you were out of reach, the child gave up trying to knock you out of the sky and returned to his home, resuming the quiet atmosphere the kingdom always held during evenings.

Night had almost fallen over Ooo when you finally arrived at your meadow. Landing in the spot where you had sat earlier that day, you turned back into a human and rummaged through the bushes for your long lost crown. As the minutes ticked by, you began to grow more frustrated. Where is it?! If I lose it forever, I'm done for.

"Huh?" You said out loud. Prying apart the branches of a blueberry bush, you found a few grass blades attached to the rough leaves, reminding you of Fern. You stood up. Why not just see if Fern had it? He wasn't the scavenger type, but something as mysterious as an unknown princess' crown was sure to fascinate him.

Ugh, the sun is setting. You sighed in defeat, vowing to visit Fern the next day to take back the circlet. Another day that's ending, another gloomy morning to look forward to. But this time, you had a mission to accomplish.

Do you think levihan is canon?

I’m guessing you’re not asking about my overall opinion on 139, so I’ll just leave it here as a Levihan opinion. I could probably do another rant about my overall opinion of the ending but probs another time.  

And I have been meaning to make this meta for a while and I kinda wanted to wait for the last chapter cause for some crazy reason, I was a clown hoping that Levihan would just suddenly happen? Like maybe in the paths, she walks to him or something 

But woop. We have to search again for the crumbs like we’re on some scavenger hunt. 

And you know what? I like it this way. Thank you Yams for not butchering your characters over one ship. Thank you for portraying so realistically what romance between two mature adults with responsibilities is actually supposed to look like. 

So yeah, before we go into it, I did go around asking about other ships and I realized, maybe we have been using the word ‘canon’ incorrectly. Or so, that’s the first thing I thought. 

I had a conversation with my sister a few days back (who hates Levihan if it isn’t obvious), and she used to be an avid Klaroline shipper back in the day (The Vampire Diaries), and she explained that a the fandom actually don’t see Klaroline as a canon couple even if they were teased throughout the show (fucked, kissed and everything in between) since it isn’t end game. 

So to lay out my terms here and just be incredibly clear about it. I consider Levihan canon, but I do not consider them end game because they obviously aren’t, 132 happened and Hange didn’t come back.. 

So what do i mean by canon? 

There are lots of nuances here to consider when we call them canon. 

For one, fandoms wait for the couple to be ‘official’ kiss and all. Other fandoms wait for the end before they say it, because no matter how many times two characters fuck, kiss and declare their undying love, if they don’t commit, if they don’t make it to the end, then it’s not canon. 

When I say Levihan is canon, I clearly mean,  even if they didn’t end up together, they probably could have still been in a relationship, they probably could have still been in love. They probably actually held a stronger and much more nuanced bond than whatever main couple we watch in some sappy romantic drama. 

And maybe they actually did fall in love behind closed doors? Maybe they meta-ed their own relationship together and maybe they’ve discussed it and maybe they were aware. ( have a meta about it here)

But here’s the thing, we’ll never know, because in Season 4, after A LOT of the development of their relationship could have been implied, Levi and Hange were separated from each other so we actually didn’t get a lot of scenes of them closely together until 115, 126 etc. 

And here is the part where people call me delusional? Because people who invalidate our ship like to do that.

Because yes.. They’re just ultra mega besties. 

AND I GET SO FRUSTRATED AT THIS TAKE. LIKE SINCE WHEN HAS ROMANCE EVER RUINED FRIENDSHIPS?

It doesn’t make any sense??? Like I have no idea how people are having relationships when the first they think when they get into a relationship is “I don’t wanna ruin this friendship,” 

I get confessing and rejecting can ruin a relationship but getting into a relationship? How does that ruin a friendship. 

I’m sorry I know that is such a trope but like yo, half the time when people ask about me and my boyfriend (who started of as bestfriends) WE GOT INTO THIS RELATIONSHIP BECAUSE WE WANTED TO BE ‘BESTIES’ IN OTHER DIMENSIONS AS WELL. 

AND WE WANTED TO BE SUPER ULTRA MEGA BESTIES (lovers in short). 

It is inevitable that you will be best friends with your partner. Yo, if your partner aint one of your besties or one of your most trusted confidants, you might wanna... you know, reevaluate your relationship???

Like, I’m incredibly choosy with romance ships like if people noticed, I only ever have written this much for Levihan. 

And one main reason for this really is because writers have a tendency of messing with a story, doing things that don’t make sense so the couple that is slated to get together, actually ends up together.

And the development never seemed natural half the time? Because some writers are just obsessed with making their pair happen. And what do they do after? They put them into so much drama which makes me question the overall health of the relationship.

nd I dunno, media is probably messing with this perspective of love by saying obviously problematic relationships are canon. So yeah even if he punched his girlfriend ONCE, and even if she cheated on him ONCE, they probably still loved each other so they’re canon lmao.

And call me a puritan here or something but there are certain things people do in a relationship and when it happens I will just sit there and say, that ain’t love, do you guys even love each other? 

And sorry I’m probably that asshole friend who would probably hate your toxic partner and will probably just tell you I’m not showing up to your wedding if I don’t like your partner.

I will not condone cheating AT ALL. I personally do not want to consider ‘canon’ any relationship where two people cheat on each other. I personally do not wanna consider ‘canon’ a relationship that thrives on miscommunication issues either because I dunno if I just got into the wrong relationship or something? But like at the age of 24, we actually talk stuff out 

Like woah, there are couples who don’t talk things out? Like what do you do when you’re stuck with each other 24/7? NOt TALK? 

I will consider canon any ship that runs on implicit trust, this belief that they should be constantly there with each other. Because that’s what love is. That’s what a relationship is and I’m gonna live my whole life believing that these are the only things that make up love for me. 

Love is trust. Love is a strong bond. Love is just two people giving and taking and sacrificing for each other. And Love is this commitment to make something work with the other person. 

And if it isn’t any of the things above, ‘sorry for invalidating’ but it ain’t love and by extension, it ain’t canon for me.  

Tbh, I think that’s the reason Levihan has been incredibly uneventful relationship wise actually made it so much for me that I thought they were pretty much canon. I still have issues with how Eremika was pulled off even if they were blatantly canon and had more than enough blatant crumbs. 

Because sure Eren and Mikasa did love each other but I guess their relationship was just so problematic since the start that even I was like ‘do you guys really love each other?’ half the time and I was constantly thinking about Mikasa’s mental health there like yo, why you so obsessed with him. There’s literally a Jean there who would probably treat you 124543x better,  

But for Levi and Hange we had parallels with Eremika. And we had crumbs

With putting his crumbs for Levihan, from the airplane, unrequited titan love, let’s live together, Hange’s longing face and the Levi’s dedicate your heart and the fact that HANGE NEVER LEFT HIS SIDE UNTIL THEY DIED, come on, I don’t know what people aren’t seeing. 

But the point is, (Okay understandable since Levi and Hange are older), Personally I just believe Levi and Hange approached their relationship more like mature adults than hormonal teenagers. Like so sorry, they decided to approach their relationship like adults instead of some teenager who bird poops on any guy who tries to cheat on Mikasa. 

Here’s the thing, Hange probably never would have complained like Eren. I honestly believe it was totally in character for her to just look down on him longingly from the paths. And I personally believed Levi had approached their relationship with a kind of acceptance like ‘ ay yo, we’re too busy for this but maybe after the war?’ that’s why even towards the end, the only way he lets himself be reminded of her was through watching the airplane and thinking of her. *fudge I’m tearing up* 

I guess the fact that they really approached this relationship and this bond like how they’re characters were supposed to, the fact that they threw everything away for the sake of the war. Yet the fact that we saw ALL THIS CRUMBS that there could have been something more if they just weren’t captain and commander in the middle of the war, just makes this so fucking canon to me. 

I would probably be speculative if we just had 115? Or maybe just 126? Or maybe just 132? But the thing is, the crumbs never stopped coming. There were so many things Yams could have CHOSEN not to do. But he did everything so deliberately from ‘let’s live together’ to ‘unrequited love’ to the Eremika parallels. 

Did he have to draw that airplane in the air and Levi making eye contact with Onyakopon? Okay I wonder why he did that? Cause really what connects Levi to Onyakopon? WHAT PLANE SCENE CONNECTS LEVI TO ONYAKOPON? 

I dunno man, but really at this point, this is so canon. Like sure Eremika takes the cake for most blatantly canon. 

But given the terms I’ve stated above for what I believe romance, love, relationships and canon is for me. 

Levihan is canon and it probably is the most canon relationship for me. Because the blatant lack of drama in the portrayal of their relationship for me just proves, Levi and Hange were very sure about their relationship with the other, I could probably say they were the two surest people in love in the whole damn show. 

THEY JUST COULDN’T GET TOGETHER BECAUSE OF CIRCUMSTANCES. (WHICH MAKES THEM ALL THE MORE ADMIRABLE ANYWAY)

What about him is so special?

Why do I keep imagining him in a room, little metal safe in a little bird cage of a village, bloodshot, vein-popped eyes filled with only red, and he rips the room in half, butchering his throat with a scream. Like that is all he could do. Like all the power in the world couldn't ever empower him.

I am unfortunately obsessed. I need to read all fics, where he takes back as much dignity as he possiby can and lives a human fucking life. He gotta be free. Let loose. His presence should be the new code for 'that guy again' to Umbrella. He should build bs stuff and blow up some towns. He gotta kick at Miranda ash and do an angry dance. He gotta say Bbitchhh many more times with those big fat lips of his. Unless that hammer a goddamn decoration he gotta bash some heads in left n right. Or use it to fly around, like how Thor swings his and goes yeet. Evil boi. Evil. So bad he robs Mcdonald for coffee at 3am, the poor staffs can't even seem appalled, all dead eyes typical Tuesday.

Decent sleep and all greasy food. Travel around the world. HOME DEPOT Imagine being stuck in almost-medieval cult village for decades. Bet the villagers shit in a pit. They use herb for med. They sacrifice goats. 'Newspapers banned' cuz mommy dearest wants her cattles not too smart goodgod. How he not completely insane. Does he even know internet? Memes? We got AI assistant on smartphones, it googles most things, we can even look up YouTube videos for stuffs. Does he understand a single word from that sentence? IS HE A SAINT???? I'd have gone and died trying to kill the tar-smeared chicken woman first year.

Probably projecting too much on him but the more I think about it the more it makes sense that he's got such crap communication skill but still got such charisma. He never needed nor had the chance to 'conversate'. He only needed to impress. Or at least, 'put on a show that everybody can enjoy'. Otherwise get holed up in that factory of his, bitter as hell at everything around him. When he said, 'Can you even imagine the humiliation?' I felt that.

It's in our nature as human beings to fight back when one's basic right is severely violated. It makes him that much more human. So human. Refusing to be an object for use. But that's all he ever was, a tool, a weapon, a slave. He's only ever known how to be useful, so he fails to see that rose, a human being who has her own life, and also ethan's entire world, cannot be a weapon the same way he was to Miranda. He genuinely does not know. Because he never had a loving family. Because he never was treated as a human. Or because he's gone through enough shit and holding on the last straw for dear life, thinking that maybe, this might be his chance.

Even when he's dying he's screaming how he has to kill her. I can understand that hatred. Oh boy. He needs therapy alright. But not the kind we get, no. He needs one that has crooked moral code and is a cynic. Who's seen and done just as much. Prob goes graverobbing together and share a shot or two. Good thing I got a strangely unsettling therapist oc who's usually that smoking Ben Affleck meme, done with life.

If he sees he's a lot like Miranda. He'd be real mad huh. But he gotta see it. He needs a new perspective. Only when he sees he's taking after Ms. Crow can he break the chain. I'd know. When you have nothing you are careless. He's so deprived of basic stuffs. I wonder if he'll be gentle, if he knows how. If he has something of his own, that he gets to cherish. Both Dr. Frankenstein and his Monster. But if he's treated as a human, an equal. Will he find some equilibrium amongst that contradiction?
