Around the start of 2022 I was in my weekly voice hangout in my discord server (DM if you want a link) and I wanted to make something quick and silly, which led to me finding a free pattern for a cute little chicken coaster. There's a character in my community that I made as a joke but she stuck around, said character is a little fat chicken called Chickpea, so I decided to make her in the form of a coaster! I had my friends try to guess what I was making as I crocheted, it was a fun time I may do something like that again.

RTC AT PHOENIX THEATER
notes + little details i liked!
There were broken roller coaster tracks hanging from the ceiling
The pictures/videos were projected on a giant "crystal ball" above the proscenium
The uniforms had a maple leaf crest with a cross inside
Virgil crawled around before the show started/during the show
Constance had her pre-Uranium Suite speech scrawled on her hand
Ocean and Constance had friendship bracelets, and Constance had a candy necklace
Noel kept trying to steal attention from Ocean during Uranium Suite
The kids explored the warehouse for a bit before Karnak talked to them
Ocean made the evil eye sign at Virgil
Noel was germophobic- kept using his sleeves to cover his hands whenever he touched anything in the warehouse
Virgil took out the prizes when Karnak listed them
Noel had the cutest teal nail polish
Mischa had a tattoo of Talia's name
Jane was SUPER TINY
Noel clapped after Jane's catchphrase
During Ocean's slideshow, it showed she had dreads as a kid (she's white)
Ocean pointed at Noel when she said "left-wing"
Noel tried to volunteer when Karnak dismissed Ocean
Ocean used pom-poms in WTWN
Noel had a Starbucks cup he kept drinking from
Noel flipped Ocean off when she made the comment about him being not fun to be around
Noel indicated Mischa during the "i wanted a man who would drive me to drink" line
Virgil helped dress Noel in his costume (the costume was just his regular uniform shirt and vest with black shorts, fishnets, the wig, and a green feather scarf
Noel's actor kept making direct eye contact with me
Mischa slapped Noel's ass after Noel's Lament
Ocean and Mischa had a staredown and Mischa chickened out
Noel breakdanced during TSIA
Ocean twerked on Noel during TSIA
When Talia came on screen, it was just Noel in a wig
At the end of Talia, everyone except Jane hugged Mischa
Mischa and Noel held hands a lot
The SABM costume was a metallic cowl + gloves
The way Noel moved in TBOJD made it seem like he broke his neck on the Cyclone
The rest of the choir held umbrellas with christmas lights during TBOJD
After TNBS, Noel and Mischa stood together on one of the balconies
Noel immediately got drunk after one sip of vodka
Karnak shook his head at Constance when she admitted how she lost her virginity
In IJAR, Noel wore the cat ears from SABM, Ocean wore Mischa's hat, Ricky wore Noel's Monique scarf, Constance wore Ricky's SABM cowl, and Mischa held Ocean's pom-poms
At the very end, Jane returned as Penny- she changed her makeup to look natural and wore a red-blonde wig instead of a black one

hey chicken! what can i do in the dry periods in which there is nothing really bothering me? as in, how can i further my practice with spirits and witchcraft if i am not actively needing to do a spell?
What a great question! This is a problem that plagues many practitioners. Here's a few ideas in no particular order:
Take a break and do nothing. IMO, a vital part of growth in witchcraft is growth of the witch. Just by living life, you develop yourself and therefore your craft. Your witchcraft evolves at the exact same pace as you evolve. It is in lockstep with you; it is you, it comes from you. It is never separate from you.
So do literally anything - relax and steep yourself into a tea of nonaction, learn a new hobby, watch that Netflix series, go for a walk. Do anything, including nothing.
Learn a new creative hobby, by the way. A significant portion of my practice these days is making things. My beliefs advise that the act of physical creation is very powerful and a very good way to bind magic into our physical world.
Christmas is coming up and it's the perfect time to learn to crochet coasters, paint watercolor bookmarks, calligraphy for fancy cards, and so on. Knowing most of us, we probably have expensive and barely-used craft materials in the closet from last summer's hyperfixation! Pick something up again and learn to use it for small projects.
As you hobby away, ask yourself how the skill you're learning might translate to witchcraft.
When it's time to do magic again, you'll have extra tools in your toolbox. Hand-made bags for spell sachets, devotional artwork, stunning sigils: by learning a skill and meditating on its mystical uses, we unlock new doors in our path that may lead to mysterious and winding hallways of possibility.
You can also do drills. Whatever sort of magic you do, you can break it down to its composite parts and practice it. Suppose you like to do a lot of candle magic where you charge the candle. Well, practice that. Get a pack of 100 tea lights and practice charging each one. Fill it with a specific sort of energy. Come back the next day and fill it again. And again. Carve a symbol on top. Do you perceive that it is easier to charge the candle when a corresponding symbol has been carved into it? Put it away. How long does it stay charged for?
Learn a new method of charging. Maybe you like to do visualization + willpower charging. Now, try something new: charging through offerings. Charging through sacrifice. Charging through prayer. Compare the results to your original method. Is it less draining? More? Does it stay charged as long? Is the quality of energy different? What about when you carve a symbol and then pray over it, does that make a difference?
(the benefit of this is ending up with a hundred pre-charged candles ready for spellwork when the time comes)
Of course, you may work over substances specifically meant to be worked over ahead of time. Oils, waters, potions, and powders may be prepared ahead of time, especially at opportune astrological appointments, and accumulate a great deal of power before they're needed. Many traditional recipes call for an incense or oil to steep for months before it is used.
What kind of magic do you often end up doing? Are you regularly blessing, generating good luck, or drawing prosperity? Perhaps your practice would benefit from careful preparation of a blessing incense, worked over for a few months before it's put into use.
If you're in a creative mood, maybe there is some big project you've been putting off - building of spirit houses, making of fancy altar cloths, crafting of special ceremonial masks - that you could finally get started on.
Moving away from mundane creation, perhaps there's some magical skill you'd like to adopt. Astral travel, new methods of divination, new methodologies of spellwork, and so on. If there's truly nothing for you to cast on, learning about a system is better than not learning about a system. You'll still take away more than nothing.
A healthy period of self-examination may also serve. Try giving a name to your practice (something very cool and 90s, like Path of the Golden Crow) and writing a handbook for hypothetical novices who want to join this path. What are the foundational skills of your practice? What are your core beliefs? What spell or ritual formats must people be able to work if they want to be a Golden Crow?
Pouring energy back into spiritual relationships is always a good option. It's my experience that spirits don't like feeling like vending machines, and relationships may turn sour if we only show up when we need something from them. Spend a lot of time talking to the spirits. Ask them what you should be doing.
If your skills with spirit work are limited, actively practice psychism, divination, astral travel, or other methods of spirit contact.
Of course, you can also just do spellwork regardless. Why does something have to be bothering you before you cast on it? Wouldn't you like to get a pay raise, or have more ideal hours? Would you like your blog to have more followers? Would you like a very expensive tool or crafting supply on the cheap? Maybe you'd like to meet similarly-minded folks in your local area. The list goes on.
Now, I will say something to wrap this up: plateaus are good and necessary. There is a difference between a plateau and a rut. I started this list off with "literally do nothing" for a reason. Periods of rest are not periods of stagnation, and things are often going on behind the scenes without us realizing it.
A few years ago, a witch friend of mine said she felt she had plateaued and asked me for a reading on how to get to the "next level." The reading was very bizarre and recommended that she basically implode her own life by making horrible decisions.
"Judy," I said, "isn't it true that all your periods of growth in witchcraft have been because something horrible happened, and you had to adapt to survive?"
"Yes," she said.
"Then enjoy your plateau," I advised, "and don't try to get out of it."

Hello and good day!
Just wanted to share a few Planting notes and whats been going on round my garden and kitchen~
Today I planted some
Tumblr media
They look very lovely in the pictures, plus the Tubers that grow under them are said to be edible and similar to potatoes. I think their pretty and would like to try them once. I figure if no one in the household likes them I have tried them, and have a neat thing to share with friends at least + can share with the seed library or at a plant swamp :)
Also direct seeded some
Tumblr media
Dill and cilantro seed. I've never been real great at making herbs grow well but this year I'm hoping is the year to change that :) with luck in a short time there'll be plenty for us as well as gifting, maybe trading and sharing (which is part of my ultimate grow goals :) ) but I'll be satisfied with enough to use here and self seed for future harvests.
Direct seeded some sugar baby watermelons to replace the bed the chickens dug up. (I'll need to make a new fence for this part of the garden, the old one was just simple wire fence. I'd like to put in a nice wire and wood one with a latch gate)
Tossed out a few handfuls of black oil sunflowers among the unclaimed parts of the back garden. With luck they'll grow pretty quickly to proffer some shade and a snack spot for the parrots again.
Tumblr media
And of interest, the regrow from the store green onions is blooming some flowers! They are definatly determined lil plants!
I don't have pictures currently for the rest but I also got a bit of stuff done for both gardening and things to try out
🔨I made 2 olla's to try out in an attempt to reduce watering around the garden as well as to conserve water in the soil a bit more. Their just 2 unglazed Terra cotta pots, silicone sealed together and a cork put in one end. The water coaster I'm using to cover the top in between watering. I've never used them, or seen them used before so at this time its to test out for a future project. Plus i just wanted to see them in function :)
🔨 fully made a 5×2 raised bed for the front garden. A second is about 1/2 made. I need to get more wood to finish. At current fenced in spacing I could fit 2 more beds this size.
⛰️ got that bed lined out with cardboard, paper and filled with compost to settle (currently 6 cubic feet of composted manure) 🪶I still need to lay out water lines for both future rows, but want to get one more of the 3 beds built before I start laying that line down.
I won't be doing ground beds in this section due to the knowledge there are utility lines pretty close to the surface. ⭐️ALWAYS call or find out where your yards service lines are befor digging!! It will save you a lot of stress and financial strain⭐️
Plus I can make the raised beds deeper/taller for root crops like carrots or sweet potatoes without having to dig too deep 😉
Laid out some tarp to die off a section of yard to start an amaranth grow spot (end goal, 2 spaces for this. human food, natural dye work material and chicken feed)
That's it for todays lil blurbs :)
🌱🌻Happy Homesteading and Urban Gardening 🌻🌱

“about the blogger” meme
thanks for the tag @currymanganese @cruciomione and @ashluvsu4ever (some tagged sydneys-adamu but that’s still me!! lol) this is late as hell but y’all are real cool! 🩷
star sign: scorpio! as far as all that other stuff like rising and moon and sun I’m not sure.
favorite holiday: I don’t have one but I’d have to say christmas for the food
last meal: chicken soup bc winter slapped me in the face now I’m sick
current favorite musician: don’t have one! I kinda hate music
last music listened to: “I know the end” by phoebe bridgers. doesn’t help my I hate music stance but that song is great so what I will do is put that song and just that song on repeat for months and not even touch anything else. I’ve also been listening to the parade revival bcr for months now.
last movie watched: blue beetle I think? and that was kind of a while ago. but great film! a lot better than I was expecting.
last tv show watched: besides just putting stuff on for noise im gonna say jury duty. an incredible watch you should consider if you haven’t already.
last book/fic finished: it was sydcarmy but I can’t remember the title. but it’s about their first fight in the cross over between whatevership and relationship and carmen gets sick and I’m also sick so!!
last book/fic abandoned: I mean I don’t read books, so that’s abandonment all on its own and if I abandon fics im not gonna publicize that lol.
currently reading: … not a book. and honestly idk basically besides re reading I’m currently reading most sydcarmy wips. I haven’t read for a different fandom since june lmao.
last thing researched for art/writing/hyper-fixation: I think “how to make a crochet coaster” I’m thinking about starting to sell and of course idk how to go about it but I figure actually making shit is a good start? who knows.
favorite online fandom memory: this isn’t a “fandom” per se (say? idk) but back in 2020-2021 I used to spend a lot of time on twitch and I got really attached to this one guy and his community. anyways I called a pop tart and a toaster strudel the same thing and got positively annihilated by the chat. twas very funny.
favorite old fandom you wish would drag you back in/have a resurgence: hmmm idk. for the sake of not having the same answer twice I’d say maybe cobra kai. I really miss loving that show and the ship I was attached to had meta that reminds me of sydcarmy. when the engagement was high it was really fun and if people suddenly decided to start caring again I’d go right back.
favorite thing you enjoy that never had an active or big “fandom” but you wish it did: american vandal!!! it’s less that I want it to have a big fandom because really who wants that and more I just wanted to know the show was appreciated, which it wasn’t :(
tempting project you’re trying to reign in/don’t have time for: I was almost roped into embroidery and punch needling and then I had to actually consider the fact that there’s no way I could commit to that. maybe one day tho.
if u see this pretend I tagged you and do it! :)

i wpuld have sent an image. that is my default send.
instead i will tell u that i have had a knitting project that i have left and come back to on and off for the past. probably 5 years. its a disgusting mess of knitted squares sewn into a haphazard coat. im considering taking it all apart and restitching it somrtime so that there is thicker yarns on top and thinner yarns on bottom. and maybe arranging it in some sort of gradient maybe. at least making it SOMEWHAT aesthetically pleasing.
kneeways. tossing a corncob in ur general direction. for chicken reasons
thank you my girls will appreciate the gesture,, i gave them some overripe mangoes yesterday and when i went out this morning to let them into the run the mangoes were fucking picked Clean. literally just skin. terrifying what the il' bastards will achieve if theyre determined. also haha yeah feel u on the knitting shit. i literally used to knit squares when I i was bored and at some point just began giving them as "tea cozies" and "coasters" for Christmas. i think my best achievement in knitting was knitting a tricolor scarf for my cousin's birthday in like. 3 days. i ended up autopiloting. tbh i think i knit in my sleep because sometimes I'll zone out knitting and literally wake up 4 hours later with 2 feet of a scarf. powerful shit.

had a very fun day today I went to round one with a friend and we played so many cool games omg!!! he showed me this game called metal slug and we also played ddr and attempted to play project diva together!! (basically we split the controls in half so he got the triangle, square and left slider and I got the x, circle and right slider) there was also wacca and chunithm and sound voltex and groove coaster but a lot of people were playing those so we didn’t get to play them. we did however go to the claw machines they had and I won a super cute plushie of some smiling bunny thing?? I dunno the name of it, the tag says “usagyuun” so I guess that’s its name?? there were also some chicken plushies and axolotls and little different colored cats and all sorts of stuff!! we didn’t get to play for too long, only like two hours and a half, which even then was still a while and overall it was really really fun!!! and a few hours after we went home my friend texted me and said he really enjoyed today and wished we could play longer (*゚▽゚*)

ITS BEEN A MONTH OH GOD PROJECT 10
i have ignored the results of the poll. i am still in unpacking hell, had more important projects to chunk at, and did not want to make a ghost so! blue chicken coaster! i havent been able to play stardew Also in about a month so blue chicken coaster... he is so silly and precious to me. he took a little less than an hour! i fear that i may eventually just work up an army of chicken coasters. i didnt put the optional hanger on him but i might down the road? or work up another one of these with the hanger with the Specific goal of using it as wall deco rather than a coaster.

SEASON THOUGHTS
we are still on e10 of segredo na foresta! arthur just fucking died what the FUCK. MY LITTLE GUYYYYS. absolutely fucked up to bring alex back to torment liz. we havent cut back to thaigo to see who his guilt is so m interested to see if it ends up being daniel or if its someone we havent seen before. either way this is incredibly fucked up and i am enjoying every second of it.
also yall m so sad that i havent been able to drill my portuguese as much as id like too. moving sucks AOP kinda carries my learning of portuguese with being able to rewind and listen back and read and i am throwing Hands that this month has been kinda stagnant because of my life. now that m more settled again ill get back into the swing of it but man. i really missed being able to crochet and watch aop for like an hour or so a day to test my very very basic toddler portuguese

Gonzo the Great's Great Cannonball Coaster
The outside of the attraction is just an impossible roller coaster. A big cannon shoots Muppets in coaster cars out onto a track that, fuck it, spells out the title of the ride in cursive! Ha! It's the world's first G ticket attraction!
The story is this is the first big Muppet ride and if it's a smash hit, they'll get a whole land devoted to em!
You get into line and there's a series of different videos hyping up the UNVEILING OF THIS RIDE! That's right, it's always launch day! One vid is like a travel channel style one where Dr. Bunsen Honeydew (& Beaker, to a lesser degree) offer an explanation for the, again, impossible physics of the daredevil, Gonzo the Great's daring new ride! Another is Pepe and Rizzo as influencers checking out the façade of the ride and speculating how it's gonna be, some good gags with drone footage. Another? A Defunctland style video essay about Gonzo's previous failed stunts hosted by Walter. Another? Stadler & Waldorf doing a video podcast where they talk about how much of a failure the ride is gonna be. Just a couple guys being dudes.
The last part of the queue is Joe the Legal Weasel rambling off all the bad things that could happen to you if you ride it and that they are not liable! Ok! Enjoy it! Bye!
You board what looks like a coaster car and it tick tick ticks ya along until you get to what looks like the inner rim of that cannon from outside. Here we goooo!
Whoops! Crunk dunk! It goes wrong! It backfires, literally and sends you careening backwards, breaking through walls and it becomes a trackless vehicle dark ride through the backstage area! You crash through/accidentally ride, prototypes of attractions that would be coming to Muppetland.
Think Simpsons ride but sliiightly less nakedly cynical and significantly less shitty.
Treasure Island = Pirates of the Caribbean
Miss Piggy's Tea Party = Teacups and you just KNOW there's a Kermit sipping tea gag in there, henny!
Swedish Chef Sing-Along Smorgasbord = Food Rocks
Honeydew & Beaker's Test Lab = Test Track
Uncle Deadly's Uniquely Dreary Dungeon = Haunted Mansion
Sam the Eagles Tribute to All Nations (But Mostly America) = Hall of Presidents/American Adventure
Happiness Hotel = Tower of Terror
Na'vi River Journey but they're made of felt!
Then you land on a treadmill with a dingy little screen with POV footage of a roller coaster being projected on it in front of it. A big middle finger to screen rides!
Electric Mayhem = Rockin' Rollercoaster sends us home!
Ya end up back on the "real" track with some fire hoops and chicken coops and a big "ta-da" form Gonzo! Kermit's like, let him work the kinks out and come back and see us, again!
