I am putting my tree propaganda out into the world.
Ahem.
Sequoia sempervirens better known as the coastal redwood is my favorite tree in the whole wide world. It grows exclusively along the northern California and southern Oregon coastline. It is closely related to the giant redwood (sequoiadendron) of central California and the dawn redwood (metasequoia) of coastal China. It is thought to be a hybrid of these two trees! It has some of the tallest trees in the world. It is an endangered species. I love her. She means the world to me. Please.
Sounds really neat! when the time comes, consider the Sequoia sempervirens!

plant number 234123435433 in -6 million BC: i have a crazy idea and i am the only creature to have ever thought of it im certain. what if we made little bits that fell off on purpose, in order to grow them in the ground
plant number 234123435434: on purpose you say, onto the ground no less? like fruits and seeds?
plant number 234123435433: no.

some gems and grians I drew while watching the last Gem (and then Tango) stream. My faves this season... love how diffrent their relationship to the sea is... Grian "the sea has claimed me" mc and Gemini "I have claimed the sea" Tay.
#hermitcraft#hermitcraft season 10#pachnychnysztuka#artwork#geminitay#grian#I really like how the chat goes crazy whenever Gem goes to fish. Esp when she catches a book#we all share one brain cell and it commands us to yell ''BOOK''#also the Tango stream... the way he pronounces propagule is so insane like???#anyways rediscovered my love for the basic brush in krita. my love how could i have ever forgotten your allure...#no opacity no size variation. no texture to worry about no tilting my pen in insane ways so the brush stays consistent. only draw...

Thinking about the dream I had where all of lobcorp took place in a minecraft oneblock world. everyone was normal it’s just in oneblock. inexplicably the entire place was made of acacia. Pancake and I joked that its cause “the a in ayin stands for acacia”. For whatever reason if you showed Binah a sapling she’d have traumatic flashbacks to something. She had light in her eyes in this dream fsr and whenever you showed her a sapling it was gone.
#id like to imagine that she only uses mangrove bc thats a propagule and not a sapling.#evora original#lobcorp stuff

All the Life Series hints in Scar's stream from 5/10/25
Scar: "Scar! Do you have any info about a new Life Series? If you are allowed." If I was allowed I would say. But there is nothing. When Grian has an idea, Grian will tell us. And when he has an idea, we will work on it, and we'll have a fun series that you all enjoy. But until Grian has that idea, we will wait in anticipation. 'Cause Grian is-is a wise, wise creative man. And when those wise creative thoughts hit him, we will all enjoy a life series. But until then we will not pressure said Grian. Until those ideas flourish, in his brain parts. As a wise British man he is. (Scar laughs, reading chat, and Gem flies into frame while he doesn't notice) Ah, let's see--wait, Grian joined? (laughing) He joined right when I said that, that's so funny. Wh-wh-what a funny, uh. Yeah, speak of the Devil! Oh, is that a wild Gem?
---
Gem: What's up? Scar: Are you looking at my flower beds? (he snickers) Gem: Yeah. Scar: I fe-I felt like-I felt like there was-there was some thoughts here. Share with the class. (in the background, you can vaguely see a green concrete powder, then a yellow concrete powder, then a red concrete powder drop from off screen) Gem: No no no no no, there's--(the noise of fireworks, like someone is leaving)--fireworks? Scar: (noticing the concrete powder) Oh. My. God. Gem: What's that? Scar: Gem, that is so ominous. (four seconds of silence) I was just talking about the Life Series. Gem: (sounding amused) I think he wants-I think he wants to tell you something. Scar: Grian, do you have something else you want to share with the class? (Scar laughs quietly) Grian? (his laugh gets louder) Anything-anything you want to share? (two seconds of silence) That is--very ominous. Gem: See--do you think he's thinking about it, or? Scar: I don't think he ever not thinks about it. Gem: That's true. Scar: Yeah. Gem: I don't know if his brain ever turns off. Scar: I don't think so.
---
Gem: The game has new cows! You must see them, (overlapping Scar) they're very good--oh, uh-- Scar: (under Gem) I've seen the new chicken. Gem: Scar, I don't want to alarm you, but there is a, uh…somebody behind you. (Scar slowly turns around, but by the time he has done a complete 180, Grian has logged out)…Nevermind. There's nobody behind you. Scar: What in the world! Gem: There's nobody behind you, don't worry about it, actually, it's completely fine. Nothing-nobody's behind you. Scar: Is he like a Creaking? I just turn away and he'll reappear. (he snickers) Gem: Uhhhh. You're clear-in the clear right now. Nothin'--nobody there.
---
Gem: This, like right here? (Scar turns away to watch Grian run past) I've composted it Scar, I've composted it.(Scar finally looks back at Gem) Um. This has gone horribly wrong. Scar: Wait, what happened? Gem: (clears her throat) Nothing. (three seconds of silence) Scar: (realizing) Oh, you put the-that in the composter. Gem: (through laughter) There's a composter on your build, I don't mean to alarm you, but, uh, yeah, anyways. Scar: Oh, I see what you-oh that makes, that makes a ton of sense, that's-- Gem: Cause then it kinda looks a little dead? That's kinda fun. Scar: Yeah! I know when um--like, the palm trees we had in, uh, California, sometimes those big, uh, little--I forgot what they were called, the big…dead bushels? They'd fall off, hit somebody in the head, and kill 'em? Gem: (noticing that Grian has logged off again) Did he just log on to move his body. Scar: He-he (noticing the three plants that weren't there previously) oh my god he--mmph. (three seconds of silence as Scar walks over to the propagule, the dandelion, and the poppy that Grian placed before leaving) Gem. Come-come to the back of the shop. Gem: Oh. Sure. Hold on, do you not have a--(she breaks the iron door keeping her inside the shop) Scar: You know, one thing I forgot was--a way to open that door. (he laughs) Gem: Oh my gosh, what is he doing? (three seconds of silence) Scar: You gotta give us something, Grian, you gotta give us somethin'. Gem: He's the most ominous man. Scar: He's-he-Grian is very ominous sometimes. 'Cause-there's a lot going on in his head, he's always got something cooking? So he has that ominous vibe of being like. Like one step ahead with an idea, so-- Gem: He's a little cryptid, is what he is. Scar: Very cryptid. (three seconds of silence) You can't leave the chat anticipation, Grian. You gotta give them something. Give them a morsel. Give them a tasty treat. I don't know why I'm looking at the sky, it's not like he just flies into the sky when he logs off. Gem: (through laughter) I mean. He might. Scar: That's true.
---
Gem: What is going on here, why is there--oh. Scar: Oh, there's lots of stuff down there. If-if you don't mind, (he pauses to laugh), we should clear that out down here. (he drops into the hole Gem made) Oh yeah that's-oh yeah that's not good, oh dear. Gem: Oh, Scar-- Scar: Oh my god. Gem: Scar-- Scar: Oh my god. Gem: Scar. Scar: I'm gettin' out. I'm gettin' out, I'm out, I'm out. (Gem laughs) Oh my god. (Grian wanders into Scar's view, then flies off) Gem: Oh! Scar: Grian! Gem: Grian! Scar: (through laughter) This-- Gem: (through laughter) What-what is happening? Scar: There's-the propagule propaguled! (he laughs) We've got a giant tree over here now. (notices that Gem went into the hole) Are you okay down there?

have some lichen from norway c: (is this lichen ? I was told it was lichen)
Absolutely! That is a Cladonia sp, which are very common in your corner of the world. Sometimes called pixie cups or fairy goblets, these guys are an extremely diverse genus that likely developed those cup-shaped structures as a means of splash dispersal (rain drops hit the cup and get ricocheted away, carrying propagules with it).

"Welcome to Skizz's crack alley." - Joel
"Running around naked is the best feeling, False." - Pearl
"We could have a crack-to-crack communication system." - Mumbo (what is with this man half of these are him)

Bdubs Builds #1
For season 10, Bdubs has been sculpting some picturesque landscapes, but XB recently hired him to build a garden in his Guardian Temple base. When talking about builds people usually break them down into three parts: landscaping, exterior, and interior. This challenge is more of a hybrid; An interior, but instead of making chairs and cupboards, its dealing with plants and landscaping.
Down the first hall, Bdubs frames a bonsai-like tree before a small window. The shape is so distinct on this tree: Bdubs used lots of signs and fences to bend the branches just so and the leaves are in three clumps (but two are connected on the backside so it doesn't feel bare). The wall of bamboo adds detail without being distracting. The path is so good: a broken stone path that transitions to path beneath the tree, the grass and moss build up along the edges where people wouldn't be walking. The use of pots, flower pots, and similarly colored blocks to create larger pot variations is very fun. I love when builders don't just make smaller variants of a thing (boxes, barrels, trees, etc) but also make a BIG fella.
So, originally, XB had thick pillars holding the water elevator and I liked the design of these pillars! But I understand why Bdubs pulled those out and went with a slimmer approach; This freed up more room and the pools of water complement the surrounding garden.
To section off the garden, Bdubs put in an unobtrusive wrought iron fence. This makes a clear break between the reast of the building and the garden without distracting from the garden. Leaves crawling up the pillars and growing from the ceiling are always great. Bdubs tucks in various details like the vines and propagules. I'm not totally sold on the bush using the propagule to simulate a stem? But I can see the potential. The use of buttons on the lamp is neat, I think, because it makes the shape reminiscent of Guardians' spikes.
LOVE that Bdubs incorporated some Guardian iconography into his design. The brick/granite/weathered copper colored are nice because they contrast with all the greens/teals, but are more subdued than bright oranges would, letting the greenery remain center stage.
First of all, for the next hallway, including a doghouse for Bishop is such a kind gesture to XB (irl his dog Bishop recently passed away).
I wasn't sure what the item frames on the pots were meant to be until Bdubs explained it was meant to be like adding a design to the pot. I can see the merit! from straight on, I can buy into the illusion of the green and tan being painted on. But from the side, the item frame and item extruding kinda breaks that illusion for me. Perhaps it'd work best placed against a back wall, like the pots lined up back there. Speaking of which: I love the value variations and subtle shape variety Bdubs created by putting the minecraft pots next to his own custom pots. The various types of shelving holding the small potted plants are also so good; They really sell the idea of the space for me.

to the alien laboratory that created it and the intergalactic government that confiscated it, this lifeform is known as "Experiment 2224." it is an artificial being designed to fulfill one primary function: spread flowers and plant growth in excess wherever it goes, no matter the type, no matter the cost. it burrows through earth as easily as a dolphin swims through water, and is capable of "charging" plant seeds and propagules with its own energy to guarantee swift and excessive growth. its temperament is docile, but it will heedlessly tear up walkways and intrude upon ecosystems in its efforts to flood the environment with as much overgrowth as it can manage.
when Experiment 2224 is unexpectedly sent to an alien planet known as "Earth," its plant-spreading purpose is quickly eroded and replaced with a new objective: bring happiness to the residents of the sad, lonely town it has landed in. to the broken community that found it, this lifeform is known as "Flower Critter."
a few design notes under the cut (:
for some reason, this animal was very difficult to design. i really really wanted to avoid just making a Wacky Experiment(tm) in the style of the freakin lilo and stitch tv series, while simultaneously attempting to capture......a lot of elements that make stitch's design actually appealing. many drafts later, i finally got this thing. it of course retains stitch's ability to retract the limbs & antennae, it has his super strength, speed, etc... instead of being fluffy, though, its fur is very soft and short, reminiscent of extremely short-pile minky or similar fabrics.
that all said, depending on one's taste, i think a Flower Critter design could go all kinds of directions - heck, if anyone wanted to make their own to suit their own FK design or personality, i think that would be super cool (: they could be a beautiful herd...
i also don't have a "lilo" in this au, it's all just "stitch"... but an alternate take could have both. FK finds an alien flower beast and has to befriend it, dodging the efforts of the bounty hunters that pursue them relentlessly... i did not do this because my intent was to sort of just combine FK and the Tooth Lily into one narrative entity. i had it in mind that FK and FC would be too much in alignment, in terms of goals/personality, for the narrative conflict to work like it does between lilo and stitch... but it would actually probably could be very workable depending on one's FK interpretation, and if you want something a little different from the story that i had in mind.
my true dream had been to give it little beady eyes...

The Great People of Yith
Hello Lovecraftians? lol, today I have art to show you, and a story;

The Yith are of course a great people, and they live for millennia and longer, because of this they don't have children very often, the art I have created today is of a Yith celebrating Their seedling, Their propagule baby. They are in a bamboo clearing and are so tall there is a cloud next to their 'head.' while researching the Yith I found that in this form their language is clicking their pincers and scratching their claw on their calcium/crystal cones. This makes recognizable sounds. Their also communicate telepathically with their 'head' tentacles. I added a dragonfly as a nod to limpets which I also had to research and they sometimes have symbiotic relationships with copepods, which got badly labeled as sea insects, so I thought is would be fun if my Yith had a dragonfly friend, so little dragonfly is resting on my Yith's babs.
