hi this is re: early registration for students in the military (sorry i know you didn't really ask, and you don't have to answer publicly or at all)

the basic answer is those students get specific training schedules and duties while they are also taking classes. since it's technically an order from the federal government, the military enrollment takes precedence over their class schedule. but the university wants these students to graduate on time too, so it has to ensure military students don't keep getting shut out of classes they need. hence early registration. it was the same at my uni.

imo it makes sense, but isn't really something worth gloating over either yknow (like you got into the class easily at the expense of having this extra responsibility all semester)

however if that brat kid you mentioned is only in a military family, i don't know what to say, except that that sounds like some nepo bullshit and you're right to be mad about it aha

yeah i think my roommate said as much… i mean i get it but the whole thing is still really bizarre to me. or maybe it’s just bc i hate the military lol

decided Fuck It We Ball, and now I'm putting together Lore Bits important to The Forsaken Exile, so here we are after way too long of trying to find the names of them. if you even care:

Post-Red War private celebration - Short and sweet, making fun of Cayde! Important to those characters in particular—Zavala, Cayde, Ikora, and Wolf. Common point of reference in memory lane-type thought spirals.

The Young Wolf's Howl and its promise - Obviously. A promise Wolf still carries, and one Saladin believes them to now either be delusional for or mocking him with by continuing to carry it, especially after murdering Lakshmi.

Aunor accuses/suggests the Guardian could've lied about Cayde's death - The interaction itself is non-canon to Exile, but the initial viewpoint of Wolf on Aunor's side stands very strong, and very wide-spread. The guilt on Ikora's side stands as well.

The Sundial - Always good lore, but specifically the end part of Osiris and Drifter's conversation. That interaction is the context to the Drifter short (or, A Questionably Fortunate Encounter).

Drifter's hallucinations from The Nine - Aids in understanding why, shortly before Beyond Light, Drifter hints to Elsie that there's Something Wrong, and it might be worthwhile to teach Wolf how to control Stasis. While not entirely certain, he recognized the signs of someone trying to ignore whatever they were seeing or feeling, and connected the dots.

Important because of Prime Brainrot: "For Fear of the Conquering Hero" - Actually the name of another page in the same lore book, but thought I'd shove it out here too. As Cayde is still alive in Exile, it's not wholly canon. Honestly not sure of its level of canon at all, as I've no idea what to do with Shin in TFE. But this specific lore page ("A Fire Inside") always makes my brain scream, so have it. Quite honestly, the entire lorebook screams at me, but this one and "Echoes Followed By Silence" in particular.

hoya is always number one in my heart, despite him leaving the group in 2017 🥲 dongwoo and sungyeol are my tied for my faves after him

♡: What makes them your current bias?

hoya caught my attention from the beginning lol because back in 2011(!) i saw a gif or pic of him here on tumblr and thought that he was yunho from dbsk but then could not find it again, and for awhile i could not figure out who it was so this mystery was stuck in my mind until i finally figured out it was him. aside from his looks, i really liked his personality too lol hard work, ambition, earnesty and a biting wit are qualities that i admire in people even rn and hoya had that in spades. his perseverance in his journey to becoming an idol was very inspiring and moving to me (tw: child abuse, the tl;dr of it was that he wanted to pursue dancing and becoming an idol when in high school and ended up dropping out and leaving home after he had a physical altercation w his dad when they had an argument about his career goals. so he was basically homeless for awhile before he got accepted as a trainee. he also was told initially he wouldn't be able to debut due to having a stutter and then he basically trained himself out of it in a very short period of time without any professional help). he was also the ace of the group, even though dancing was (and still is) his passion, he also was a decent singer and rapper and actor (at least in reply 1997 lol, idk about his other roles. also his role in reply 1997 is literally revolutionary lol i won't say why bc spoilers but i recommend watching it if you like kdramas! he plays kang junhee)

hm ig like i said above, dongwoo and sungyeol. both of them are genuine, earnest and funny in different ways

i wouldn't say i'm obsessing over him lol but sunggyu has climbed up the list in the past year or so

♡: When did you first discover this group?

in 2010, when they debuted. 2010 was a time where you could easily know and keep track of everyone who was debuting when it was announced (which is wild to think about how different it is now and how the industry has become so saturated), but they also caught attention because they were being mentored by epik high who were and still are a pretty well known k-hiphop trio. i didn't become interested in them until 2011 though, because i didn't like the song they debuted with

♡: Have you ever been to one of their concerts?

yes, i've been twice. i had to look up the dates because it's been so long lol but the first time was in 2013 and the second time was 2016. honestly one of the best memories of my life

lance in destinies collide going “that was pretty brave of you” after cass slacklined to get the gondola

bc i’m pretty sure that’s the only instance in three seasons of one of cassandra’s friends spontaneously paying her a compliment / praising something she did

like i’m paraphrasing here bc i can’t be bothered to look up exact wording atm but it goes basically

LANCE: That was pretty brave, what you did back there

and i spend a…normal amount of time thinking abt this bc . hm. this is one of the very few times cass and lance ever speak to each other, and it’s juxtaposed with eugene and rapunzel pretty openly doubting her abilities/intentions/trustworthiness in a way that feels very purposeful to me

she and lance aren’t close in canon but my sense in that scene in DC is that lance kinda… is cognizant of the dynamic that has developed with her, and maybe kind of expects her to bounce very shortly? like. i dunno i want to draw a line of connection here between like

1. lance going 😬 in the bg when rapunzel chewed cass out in RATGT

2. RATGT ending on this beat of cass, horrifically injured, crawling into armor and going “it’s your call, raps” in re: whether to keep going to the dark kingdom or not, Because Destiny

3. cass doing this dangerous but necessary thing RE like Visibly doubted she could do and then she pulls it off and Lance is like “that was real brave of you! apropos of nothing do you actually believe in this destiny thing or,”

gets me wondering a bit if after the moonstone yoink lance wasn’t, in the back of his mind, kinda like yeah this tracks fnfmgjd

my kingdom for the tts that gave lance actual character development and gave any focus at all to relationships that don’t involve rapunzel 😭

Today I will be talking about Hunters and fashion. We all know how much effort they put into their gear, but what about when they have downtime? When they (probably very rarely) relax a few days in the City?

It is my duty to tease the idea that not an insignificant amount of Hunters have terrible fashion sense outside of armour. Sure, most probably just wear only black all the time. Can't go wrong with black. But every once in a while you'll run into a Gunslinger, one you recognize from a strike a few weeks back, now in the streets of the City, looking like he woke up and grabbed the closest thing nearby that counts as clothing.

I am also the main advocate for the idea that all Hunters wear mismatched socks. Well, the ones who 'don't' are aware enough to buy exclusively the same socks so they don't need to worry about matching.

This is 100% me projecting as a Hunter main with an off-kilter fashion sense.
