Nick and Charlie showing a love that is equal parts support and discovery, finding your truth and the patience and selfless care it takes to wait for another to find theirs, and when that delicate balance is reached, always showing up for the other person because between all the sweet kisses and sweaty make-out sessions what really matters is being there just to let the one you love feel protected and allowing them to recharge, to start healing, to feel safe from the monsters that constantly attack our minds, because nothing can be perfect all the time and not being perfect together is how you keep the monsters at bay.
Tao and Elle finding the beauty of truly and profoundly knowing someone, scars and all, and loving the other person because of who they are in their most mundane, sometimes annoying, sometimes utterly embarrassing way of being, because connecting with someone’s idiosyncrasies can be such a beautiful thing.
Tori and Michael showing a love that can be painful and abrasive, that can be as isolating as it is deep, that wants to be healing but also knows that some wounds cannot be healed and the only way to love someone who feels they are broken is to acknowledge the cracks and be there to keep them as safely together as possible, because ignoring the problem or trying to patch it up will never solve anything.
Tori’s love for Charlie, her fierce, selfless, all-defying love for Charlie, a love that is stronger than any other, the love of someone who knows you better than you know yourself and will stop at nothing to protect you.
Lucas and the lie of a love that never existed, the obsession for a fantasy that leads to harm and pain, and finally the revelation that love can never mean trying to reshape other people to the fantasy we have of them.
The teachers, in a rose-tinted world a reminder that sometimes it takes time, sometimes it takes forever to accept that part of yourself that someone else might love, but that it is never too late to find that connection and it’s never too late to let someone else into your heart and let them pick up the broken pieces.
Mrs. Xu and her longing for a love that was taken away, a pain that doesn’t stop her from loving and loving and loving a son who is going through the rollercoaster of adolescence, a loss that transforms itself into more love to give and to share, without losing the bittersweet memories of what once was.
Mrs. Nelson and her endless love for her son, her courage to get out of a situation that is not healthy and her support that is unconditional and respectful of her son’s needs and of the pace he’s comfortable with in dealing with his feelings.
Tara and Darcy and a love that is in equal parts fearless and aware of how difficult it is to be queer, still, how scary it is to be yourself in a world that wants you muted, reformed, or worse. Yet it’s also a love that finds joy in its complicity and strength in its purity making both ready to take on the world.
Mrs. Singh showing a love that is strong and enduring, that knows strife and struggle but comes out on top, a love that means finding your domesticity despite all the ugliness that others throw your way.
Imogen showing how the need and the craving for love can lead to lying to yourself, how sometimes loving yourself is the first step that needs to be taken before offering your naked emotions to the world.
Isaac and a love that means knowing who you are, even when that doesn’t fit with what even your dearest, most trusted friends think of you. It’s a love for self-truth and acceptance and a defying act of courage.
Even the characters who are not depicted under a positive light are bursting with the consequences of love, sometimes dark, sometimes selfish and monstrous and destructive: Ben wants to love himself but can’t and only manages to burn everything that surrounds him; David desperately seeks the love of his absent father in the most harmful ways possible and alienates the people who might actually care for him; Mrs. Spring loves so fiercely but has never been shown that love in her youth, so her hurt comes out as possessiveness.
Alice Oseman is a master storyteller when it comes to painting all the shades of human relationships and all the different ways love can be expressed, enjoyed, all the different ways it can be scary and wonderful, healing and powerful, broken and shocking. What an amazing amazing set of stories and emotions, I’m just so in love with her understanding of love.

(Second Draft Version) Incoming Text for Anisha Padukone (@anishapadukone) and Deepika Padukone (@deepikapadukone):
Dear Anisha and Deepika,
I can't share too much information on this public blog, but you should know that I will send you Jamie Chung to help protect the wealth in the bank account of Anisha Padukone.
As you know, Jamie Chung is currently married to Bryan Greenberg, and Deepika Padukone is married to Ranveer Singh.
You get the picture, don't you? This is why I’ve decided to entrust the money to Anisha Padukone. This way, Jamie and Deepika can remain married to their current husbands without having to divorce. It's good that they are together, and I don’t want to force these two couples to separate right now. I'm not a home-wrecker, alright? That’s why I need the unconditional support of Anisha Padukone to protect the wealth.
I’m Deepika’s future husband, and I want to protect the wealth with her sister, Anisha Padukone. This way, Deepika doesn’t have to divorce Ranveer at the moment; they can stay married. I don’t mind it at all.
I just want to ensure Anisha has the right lawyers to secure this wealth so it will remain under the protection of the Padukone family.
Jamie Chung can stay married to Bryan Greenberg as well—I don’t mind it. I’m her future husband, but not at the moment. It’s in the future. Get it?
From now on, Jamie and Deepika will have their wealth protected by Anisha Padukone, who will act as the guardian. Anisha is like a firefighter. Divorce can start a fire, and she will help Jamie Chung and Deepika Padukone avoid losing large amounts of wealth to their current husbands.
Deepika will obviously support Ranveer after the divorce; they will always be family. Jamie will obviously support Bryan after the divorce; they will always be family.
I hope Anisha Padukone will accept this responsibility as the firefighter who helps Jamie and Deepika avoid costly divorce battles. This is how we protect the wealth of the royal family—with the support of a trusted family member, Anisha Padukone.
Anisha, you will collaborate with the Samsung family in South Korea to secure my wealth in your bank account. I have complete trust in you.
If you are currently married, you should discuss this topic with your husband and ask your Indian lawyers to draft a contract that forces your husband to agree not to claim half of this wealth. If your husband refuses to sign, you’ll need to consider starting divorce proceedings to protect this wealth.
Your husband has two choices:
Sign the contract agreeing not to claim half of your wealth.
Face a divorce to ensure this wealth is safeguarded.
You can’t give away half of your wealth for something he never worked for, am I right?
You are now my wealth manager. Get used to your new job title.
Open a bank account in Seoul, South Korea, to make it easier for the Samsung family to wire money.
Remember, Im the King of Somalia and a Somali citizen. The Samsung family are allies of the Somali Royal Family. Be cautious of frauds who might try to access your wealth.
You should tell them: “Are you a Somali citizen? No, you are not. These are private matters of the Somali Royal Family.”
You’ll soon be very wealthy, just like the famous Indian billionaire Savitri Jindal. Here’s her Wikipedia page for inspiration: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Savitri_Jindal. - (click on the blue link)
You’ll need security to protect yourself. You are now my wealth manager in India, responsible for these family members:
Deepika, Ranveer, and yourself.
Jamie Chung and Bryan.
Priyanka Chopra (@priyankachopra) and Siddharth Chopra (@siddharthchopra89).
YESJULZ (@yesjulz).
Jessica ‘Simply Jess’ Marquez (@iamjessmarquez) and Chris Brown (@chrisbrownofficial).
Christina Santini and her husband, John David Washington.
My family in Strasbourg, Alsace, France.
Whenever the family needs money, they’ll call you. You’re officially the wealth manager of the Somali Royal Family in India. Take your role seriously, and surround yourself with trustworthy lawyers like Karuna Nundy and accountants to track every expenditure.
I encourage you to marry Siddharth Chopra. This marriage doesn’t have to be romantic—it’s a political strategy to protect our immense wealth. Intermarriage keeps wealth in the family.
Priyanka and Deepika will arrange this marriage to unite the Padukone and Chopra families. From now on, we’ll make our moves in silence and stay off the radar with Siddharth Chopra and Anisha Padukone as “The Submarine Couple.”
You can discuss this with your families. This was fun!
Love you, Anisha and Deepika. Big hugs.
King Angelo
P.S.:
Synopsis of the Letter:
The letter is a communication from King Angelo to Anisha and Deepika Padukone, addressing plans to protect the wealth of the multi-ethnic Somali Royal Family. Key points include:
Wealth Management Responsibilities:
Anisha Padukone is entrusted with the role of wealth manager for the Somali Royal Family in India.
She is tasked with securing the family's wealth using trusted lawyers (e.g., Karuna Nundy) and accountants, ensuring all expenditures are properly monitored.
A bank account in South Korea, in collaboration with the Samsung family, is suggested for international transactions.
Family Protection and Marriages:
Current marriages (e.g., Deepika Padukone with Ranveer Singh and Jamie Chung with Bryan Greenberg) are to remain intact to avoid unnecessary divorces.
Anisha is metaphorically described as a "firefighter," protecting the family from wealth losses during potential divorce disputes.
The letter proposes a political and strategic marriage between Anisha Padukone and Siddharth Chopra (Priyanka Chopra's brother) to ensure inter-family alliances and wealth preservation.
Security Measures:
Anisha is advised to secure contracts with her current husband (if married) to prevent claims on newfound wealth.
The letter emphasizes vigilance against fraud and prioritizing loyalty to Somali Royal Family interests.
Unity and Privacy:
Inter-family collaboration (Padukone and Chopra families) is highlighted as essential for maintaining wealth and privacy.
The couple Anisha Padukone and Siddharth Chopra is nicknamed “The Submarine Couple” for their discreet and strategic role in wealth protection.
Future Plans:
King Angelo expresses his intent to marry Deepika Padukone in the future, once political circumstances stabilize.
The letter concludes with an optimistic tone, encouraging family discussions and reaffirming trust in Anisha's new responsibilities.
This letter portrays a detailed plan to safeguard the wealth and unity of the Somali Royal Family through strategic alliances and meticulous financial management.

O Lord, grant me strength to live the strenuous life, To face challenges with courage and embrace the fight. Help me to be a man of action, not of idle ease, To seek adventure and strive for greatness, if you please.
Instill in me a deep sense of civic duty, To serve my community and my country truly. Guide me to be a leader, just and bold, To stand for what is right, as stories of old.
Fill my heart with honesty and integrity, Let my word be my bond, for all eternity. Grant me the moral compass to choose the righteous way, And the courage to speak truth, come what may.
Build within me physical vigor and resilience, To overcome obstacles and meet each challenge with brilliance. Let me not shy away from hardship or pain, But emerge stronger, through sunshine and rain.
Remind me, Lord, that this life is a gift, A chance to strive, to learn, to uplift. Help me to use my talents, every single one, To leave the world a better place when day is done.
Amen.

Symbolism and faith go hand in hand...
Whether it be the Christian cross, the Islamic crescent moon, the Hindu Om, or the Jewish Star of David, the major religions of our world provide universally acknowledged symbols to be revered as emblems of their strength and devotion… Ones that faith-based individuals can wear proud. Think of all the people you’ve seen wear a cross on a necklace, or the New Age philosophies inspiring the young people these days to buy rocks and step out in jewelry made of distinct gemstones that cannot be found at any store… crystals that are worn for a purpose and that have roots with early Eastern philosophies.
What counts as a religious symbol?
To wear something symbolically out of faith, of course, is not only about wearing sacred stones or a symbol that’s been drawn out… There are many things religious people to do symbolize their faith, and that’s why the term “religious symbol” is so vast — lighting a candle, posturing yourself in prayer a certain way, or singing “Om” in meditation are all technically just as religiously symbolic, as religious symbolism ultimately extends far beyond jewellery and drawings.
When it comes to Sikhism…
Sikhism has grown into a global community of millions since its founding in 15th century Punjab and at its core are a set of symbols and practices which serve a testament to its depth. The history of Sikh symbolism can be traced back to 1699, when it’s said that the tenth and final living Sikh guru, Guru Gobind Singh, instructed his first initiates to adopt the “Five Ks”. These are are five physical articles or symbols that embody and guide the Sikh way of life, and while the "Five Ks" in Sikhism might not be as globally recognized, the impact they have within the faith withstands the test of its time.
So what are the “5 Ks”? And why are they called that?
Well for starters, all five of the Sikh religious emblems begin with the letter "K" in Punjabi, hence why they’re known as the "Five Ks." The Five Ks that Sikhs are required to wear or carry as part of their identity are as follows:
Kesh: Uncut Hair
In Sikh traditions, uncut hair, which is referred to as Kesh, symbolizes a level of holiness and devotion to God. Sikh men and women alike are encouraged to grow out their hair unrestrained as it serves an embodiment of the divine through one’s refusal to alter their natural physically state ultimately bestowed by God. Oftentimes with turbans or head coverings, Sikhs will cover their grown out hair as a visible sign of their religious commitment.
Kanga: Comb
Associated with Kesh and used for the same reasons, the Kanga is a word for a small wooden comb which Sikhs use to upkeep their hair and ensure it remains tidied. It is to be worn under the turban.
Kachh: Cotton breeches
The Kachh represents loose-fitting white boxer shorts. Sikhs wear these cotton undergarments to represent their sexual restraint, and it serves as a symbol of modesty, purity, and ultimate self-control against sin… The Kaach is meant to remind Sikhs of the need to control one’s physical desires.
Kirpan: Wooden sword
Kirpan is a ceremonial stylized representation of a sword that represents the Sikh's duty to protect the oppressed and stand up against injustice. It serves as a reminder for Sikhs to be ready to defend their faith and values, while those who choose to carry the Kirpan are advised to do so responsibly. For wearers, it must be sheathed, wrapped in a cloth belt, and worn next to the body.
Kara: Bracelet
The Kara is an iron or steel bracelet that’s typically worn on the wrist, and it represents several important aspects of Sikhism. The bracelet’s unbroken circle signifies the eternity of God and the notion to use one’s hands to benefit humanity, and ultimately, it represents the unbreakable connection between the individual and their Guru.
An embodiment of the faith’s principles
The “Five Ks” in Sikhism aren’t mere symbols, but rather emblems of the Sikh way of life. Each "K" ultimately represents a distinct aspect of this faith as the sacred articles represent the foundations of its identity. And while they may not garner the same level of global recognition as other religious symbols, they go a long way in establishing a common ground for Sikh identity.

SINGAPORE - A CLASSIST PRESIDENCY
“And now, look at the office of the Singapore President. 99.99 percent of the people are disqualified by your law to stand for this “elected” position. Do you fellas ever read the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR)? I guess not.” (1)
- Excerpts of a Letter to the Defense Minister of Singapore, dated April 14, 2017
Singapore is presently in the midst of muted electioneering for the ceremonial role of the president. The candidates are very few and far in-between. There are valid reasons for this. The constitution of this republic makes it quite onerous for any citizen with an abiding interest to serve the nation, to qualify to run. The role is apparently reserved for a Cabinet “Minister, Chief Justice, Speaker, Attorney-General, Chairman of the Public Service Commission, Auditor-General, Accountant-General or Permanent Secretary” to a ministry. (2)
Additionally, any private sector candidate must, among other obstacles, be or had been a Chief Executive Officer of some duration and standing, of a profit-making multi-million dollar corporation. (3)
If anyone is confused about this democracy, please be disabused of that notion. It is not. Webster’s offers a decent working definition of a democracy. Item 5 states :
Democracy is the “absence of hereditary or arbitrary class distinctions or privileges.” (4)
How does this compare to the privileges accorded to the pre-qualified candidate(s) for the office of president of Singapore? We may recall the last election was a non-starter due to the fact that only one candidate was uniquely and glaringly deemed suitable, as The Guardian news outlet reported on Sep. 13, 2017 :
Anger in Singapore as first female president is elected without a vote | Singapore | The Guardian
There are legitimate reasons for vetting of a political candidate for public office. Among these is the expectation that elected officers should be competent, accountable and above suspicion, especially to corruption and conflicts of interest. However, where Singapore and a few other generally authoritarian political systems differ from an open and hence, a democratic society, is the question of who performs the vetting of the candidates? In authoritarian systems like China, Cuba, Iran and Singapore, that decision is made by unelected bureaucrats and political operatives, in consonance with a pre-determined set of laws. That is to say, the system is gamed by and among the elite class.
The democratic framework functions best when the vetting of every candidate is put through the test of the collective will of the people. That is, through a fair and open election. Class distinctions, among other factors, do not arise in any measurable form. That is, no one gets an unfair and unmerited advantage.
A further point to the office of the Singapore president - Why do we the 99.99 percent who are predetermined by their law to be unqualified to stand for this position, which for all intents and purposes, is unjustly reserved for them or the 00.01 percent, accept this insult to our dignity and good standing as citizens? Or to put it another way, why do we, as citizens and voters reinforce this undemocratic and spiteful class distinction?
As a society, Singapore would do well to recognize the authenticity and justness of the United Nations Organization’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) of 1948. We have throughout the years and also on this website implored the reader to learn about and to live by its code. More especially, to those in positions of power. Article 7 alone is enough to cover the topic as discussed in the foregoing :
All are equal before the law and are entitled without any discrimination to equal protection of the law. All are entitled to equal protection against any discrimination in violation of this Declaration and against any incitement to such discrimination.(5)

News from British Columbia and beyond, 28 May.
Revised legislation to impose the costs of cleaning up abandoned industrial project on their owners aims to protect B.C.’s natural environment.
2. Opposition House Leader Todd Stone has introduced a private member’s bill to ban foreign interference in BC politics.
The Control of Foreign Funding and Electoral Influence Act will prohibit foreign-funded individuals and organizations from making false or misleading communications for any purpose related to an election. It will also ban contributions from any foreign person, government, or political organization for any purpose related to an election, and prohibit any individual or organization from collaborating with or accepting funds from foreign entities to influence an election.
3. British Columbia is offering mean-tested rebates on the purchase of eligible new e-bikes. The rebate program will be administered by the Scrap-It Society.
4. Former NDP cabinet minister Harry Lali has joined BCUnited. (In local parlance this transfers his vote from the Dippers to the Grits.)

5. Former governor-general and current special rapporteur David Johnston has released his first report into Chinese electoral interference.
Overall, the report finds no evidence of the Canadian government intentionally ignoring warnings and reports and concludes that a full public inquiry is not necessary.
You can find the report here.
6. The Johnston report identifies significant problems in getting intelligence briefings through to decision-makers in government.
Johnston found intelligence suggesting Beijing was targeting Conservative MP Michael Chong, another MP, and their extended families in China. In May 2021, CSIS sent an “issues management note” about this threat to then-public safety minister Bill Blair and his chief of staff. But neither of them received that note. It turns out it was sent through a “Top Secret Network email” and neither the minister nor his most senior aide had access to that.
6. Jagmeet Singh, the leader of the NDP, has expressed disappointment in the report and said that he will press for a full public inquiry.

7. Conservative leader, Pierre Pollievre, is still claiming that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau might be “complicit” in Chinese election interference.
8. The former Conservative leader, Erin O'Toole, has also expressed disappointment in the Johnston report.

hartley rathaway and or harry wells for the character game
Aha! My favorite prickly porcupine characters :D
Hartley Rathaway
NOTP - Hmm... I mean, he's gay so any ship with a lady that isn't a QPR would be right out. But for a true NOTP... I dunno. Joe West is a definite no. But I feel like I could see Hartley with pretty much any other guy on the show (or arrow-verse at large).
BROTP - Lisa Snart. Are they best friends? Are they QPPs? Either way I want them to be besties for life. That it would annoy Cisco to no end having these two team up is definitely a bonus. But that we never got a Piper & Glider commit crime together on the show is a definite shame.
OTP - Cisco Ramon. Hartmon is one of my favorite ships for the Flash and I definitely feel like the two have more in common than they're willing to admit. Especially when it comes to struggling with feeling like they've failed to meet familial expectations and getting screwed over by EoWells. But they're both brainy nerds, so the two of them bonding over their fandoms and then arguing over scientific theory & implementation the next is definitely part of the appeal of the ship.
Second Choice OTP - Barry Allen. This is another case of two characters having more in common than they're ready to admit. But they don't really have the baggage that Hartley does with Cisco and it's similar to why I enjoy Coldflash since Hartley does start off as Barry's enemy in all timelines but, unlike Snart, makes the full shift over to ally in most of those timelines too. (Though we only see it happen twice.) And, honestly, Hartley's comment about wanting to be swept off his feet by a guy in red leather is the funniest thing anyone's ever said in regards to Barry's suit. :D
Fluffy Ship - Cisco Ramon. As much as their established history lends itself well to angst, I really just like these two being at a point where they've moved beyond it and become all soft and melty for each other. And very protective because they know better than anyone what the other's weak spots are.
Angsty Ship - Eobard Thawne (as Harrison Wells). It's heavily implied canon that these two were involved before Hartley found the flaw(s) in the accelerator and Eobard gave him the boot, breaking up with and firing Hartley in one fell swoop. I tend to prefer it for background angst since I want Hartley to find happiness, but there's definitely a deep well of angst in there with Eobard manipulating Hartley on multiple levels.
Poly Ship - It's a toss up actually so...
David and Rob Singh. David is actually Hartley's love interest in the comics, so arguably Rob (whose last name is never given that I know of, so I just hand him his husband's instead) was created to partially take Hartley's place. That being said, what little of David/Rob seen in canon is very loving and stable, which is an environment Hartley would benefit from greatly. There definitely needs to be more of these three together and I guess at some point I'm just gonna have to write more myself.
Barry Allen and Cisco Ramon. It's my two fav OTPs for Hartley smushed into one, plus sticks two sunshine boys together. What could go wrong? hehehe (so much, no doubt)
Weirdest Ship - I mean... I don't really have a crack ship for Hartley, but arguably his canon ship with Roderick Smith is weird to me, for all that I enjoyed patching in the backstory for them with my semi-canon compliant three-parter fic series. Roderick is retconned into canon events on the show itself with 'remember the new guy' flashbacks and leaves him conveniently comatose so that he becomes Hartley's plot coupon for his redemption arc 2.0, this time speed run on screen instead of being retconned into existence. (Of course, it's set up by retconning out the first redemption arc out of existence first.) Because of how Roderick's screen time is largely confined to a fight scene flashback and naptime in a sleeping beauty glass coffin (I really gotta write a fairy tale fusion for these two), Roderick's a blank slate. He has no personality, so he can be given any personality necessary for a story and it's not OoC. Because he has no character beyond 'loyal to Hartley'.
Harry Wells
NOTP - His fellow Wells. Much as I like the idea of Harry learning to shed some of his self-hatred and that being reflected in how he treats his fellow Wells, I'm not generally into self-cest/twin-cest ships and parallel universe selves definitely fall in that area.
BROTP - Joe West. I really like their friendship in canon. It's nuanced and nice for two dad's to be able to bond over all the weird stuff their super powered adult child problems. They both have a tendency to get in trouble with their kids for being over-protective to the point of smothering too, so I just... like these two getting chances to bond. I also like that Joe is the one who really calls Harry out on his behavior in S4.
OTP - Cisco Ramon. There's so much UST and innuendo between these two in canon that the only two reasons I can think of that this ship didn't become canon was a.) the age difference between the characters/actors and b.) the writing staff has made a number of queerphobic decisions over the years that I suspect they can't conceive of Cisco being bi. Harry is clearly, canonically devoted to Cisco. So extending that devotion into romantic territory is way too easy to see.
Second Choice OTP - This is a hard one for me because Harry reads as being demiromantic and demisexual to me, so a lot of the popular ships for him get a kind of 'meh' response from me. I think E2 Tess Morgan - at least I'm assuming his unnamed wife was E2 Tess Morgan based on the audio clip used when he was sharing his memories of her with Jesse - would have to be my runner up OTP, though. We know he loved her dearly and Harry's love of her, even years after her death, is incredibly hard for him to speak of even to his daughter. So I can only imagine just how much happiness these two shared together in the early days of building STAR Labs and taking care of little Jesse.
Fluffy Ship - Cisco Ramon. Once the angst is cleared out of the way, these two just fall beautifully into sync with each other and being generally soft and domestic. Give me the fluffy happiness. :D
Angsty Ship - Hartley Rathaway. I haven't really gotten into this ship too much, but the potential for angst between these two is great. Harry's trying to leave the shadow cast by Eobard Thawne and afraid the things he did so that Zoom wouldn't kill Jesse mean he never will. And Hartley has to move beyond the hurt Eobard caused him in order to truly see Harry for who he truly is. I think Harry would be potentially drawn to Hartley for some of the same reasons he's canonically drawn to Cisco - they're both brilliant, snarky little assholes when they want to be and Harry is just delighted to have someone who pushes back when he shoves.
Poly Ship - I can't really see Harry being in a poly relationship that doesn't involve Cisco. And it'd be more likely to be a V - which would mean Harry would have to examine his jealousy issues - but in some cases I could see Harry falling into a triangle with Cisco and another too. I've been enjoying writing my Cisco/Harry/Hartley story, so for now that ship would specifically be my fav poly ship for him. But I think Harry's ultimately more likely to be accepting of others in a poly ship but not really interested in one for himself.
Weirdest Ship - HR Wells BROTP. I want these two to learn to like themselves and it being reflected in them growing a brotherly relationship while they weren't paying attention. They both struggle with self-hatred in their own ways and project it onto each other in differing degrees. Harry has the genius that HR wishes he had and HR has the social skills that Harry doesn't know how to emulate. They're both so very ND too and mask in different ways. So the ways in which these two play off each other is just fascinating to me. It's not necessarily weird-weird as a ship, but everything HR does is odd somehow. (Which is part of what I like about him.)
Bonus:
More thoughts on the Harry & HR BROTP. Okay, so, imagine HR had survived the end of S3 and gone back to Earth 19 to recuperate + help Cynthia with a much needed social revolution of what seems to be a massively fascist government there. Would have completely changed aspects of S4. In this AU HR would have learned to value his own strengths over the course of S3 and background of S4, so having him pass on what he's learned to help Harry with valuing his own emotional insights would be a interesting evolution of their relationship, with Harry especially learning from HR to treat himself with kindness and forgiveness.
<3 oh if only.
As it was, we did briefly get HR semi-back from the dead during Nash's possessed by the Wells arc. And while it's all background acting choices on Tom's part no doubt, Harry clearly treats HR with more patience, understanding, and kindness during the characters scenes together during those episodes. HR, in turn, wasn't being passive aggressive towards Harry either, no longer having to feel like Team Flash really wanted Harry and not him. Seeing the growth there for both of them was really a nice glimpse into the characters before we lost them for good. (Also Harry occasionally borrows one of HR's drumsticks. So they are basically sharing stim toys and I love the sibling-esque dynamic of it.)

Incoming Text for Louis Garrel (@louisgarrel_official):
Subject title: "You will be bullied by corrupt people because you expose them. You need allies like Ranveer Singh (@ranveersingh)."
Hey Louis!
I want to let you know that you need allies because I know they will bully you and try to make your life difficult in France.
This is why I encourage you to call your Indian friend Ranveer Singh (@ranveersingh); he will help you find support with the Indian family of Kapoor. They will defend you.
If you are bullied in France, don't hesitate to call for help in India. They will come to your defense and protect you against the bullies.
You can also call the actor John David Washington in America; he will defend you against bullies too.
Do you remember the movie Nightcrawler with Jake Gyllenhaal?
Here is the Wikipedia page, click the blue link here: Nightcrawler
I encourage you to watch this movie. Nightcrawler is a classic film.
In this movie, Jake has an Indian/Pakistani friend played by Riz Ahmed, who helps him defend himself. This is what you should do because they will bully you and make you look like the bad guy now.
In this movie, Jake plays a very bad guy. They will vilify you now; they will make you look like a bad man. This is how they operate when you defend yourself, so better be ready to fight them with the help of your Indian friends.
I know you are a smart man and you will fight them to defend yourself. We will never back down. Stay strong and never be afraid of them.
The end of this conversation.
Your friend,
Angelo.
P.S.:
Synopsis of the letter:
In this letter, Angelo advises his friend Louis to seek allies to counteract potential bullying and difficulties he might face in France for exposing corruption. Angelo suggests reaching out to the Indian actor Ranveer Singh (@ranveersingh) and the Kapoor family for support. Additionally, he recommends contacting American actor John David Washington for help. Angelo draws a parallel to the movie Nightcrawler, in which Jake Gyllenhaal's character is supported by his friend, played by Riz Ahmed, to emphasize the importance of having allies. Angelo reassures Louis of his strength and intelligence, encouraging him to stay strong and not be afraid of the bullies.

David

I so crushed on the guy that worked at Pizza Hut, but he was so goddamn sweet and looked a lot like Darius Ferdynand oh and more than likely straight lol.
So far David is the only person I've written about who's name is actually true. I change the names of all the people I've written about to protect my identity and also there's to a certain extent.
In David's case then I don't much see the point seeing as it would be extremely unlikely that he would stumble on this and even if he does then I've already made a fool of myself once so what the point ayy?
So the story of David …
When I was still in secondary school it was considered super cool to drink underage 🔞 and me being the conniving manipulative sod I am (or at least can be when I really want something) I was very good at getting booze for me and my friends.
I used to have an arrangement with the dodgy man from the off license at the local council estate and would pay twice the RRP for booze he couldn't sell. Over the years probably between the ages of 15 and 18 I did a good few deals with this man who we will call Mr Singh for the purposes of anonymity. It's not like I would visit him every week or every month but probably about 2 or 3 times per year I would call in on a Monday early evening.
One of the big scores I got from him or deals I managed to pull off was to buy about a liter of Gordon's Gin. I'm not a major fan of Gin but a teenager who wants to get pissed underage tends not to be too choosy. I won't give too much details about the shop or anything and I don't think he tended to sell booze to underage people but the way I managed to get him to sell it to me was a pretty ballsy move if I do say so myself.
I literally walking and told him 'look you know I'm not 18 and can't buy alcohol but I want to buy, your a self employed man and I know your just going to put the cash straight in your pocket and not put it through the till so let's make a deal' Mr Singh did have a reputation amongst some of the locals for being a bit dodgy in regards to Taxes and such lol (this I learnt from some the local old woman at the care home down the road but that a story for a different time), so I figured if any local shopkeeper was going to sell to me then he would.
I thought I was the shit for doing this and other than my best friend, nobody knew where I got the booze from but it did score me some serious street credit lol.
Anyway back to the David story lol …

One of my favorite things to do when I was in the last year of school was to go to the local leisure complex (bowlplex) with my best friends, go to the cinema to watch whatever the latest horror film was, and poor shit loads of Gin into one of those frozen drinks that the cinema overcharges for.
If your wondering how I got the money to do this then before you make an assumption, NO, Mummy and Daddy didn't give me loads of money (unlike some of the other kids I went to school with) instead when I was 13 my Dad told me to 'go out and find a Saturday job and don't come back until you've got one' which I did, kind of. Well I did end up coming home without a job after visiting all the little shops on the local high street (they all said not sorry you too young) but when I got home I told my Dad there aren't any jobs so I'm going to start my own business which ended up meaning I started doing window cleaning for people from Dad's church for £5 a house. After a few years I had some disposable income lol.
Seriously I will tell you how David factors into all this now I promise …
So me and my friends would go to the cinema and get pissed up a couple of Friday evenings a month (getting home in time for my curview of course). Anyway as we got a bit older and left school and after I started my apprenticeship we continued this little tradition but at 16 added a stage to our night out. food!
Next to the cinema there were a couple of restaurants and one of our favorites was Pizza Hut. Why was it our favorite? Well because who doesn't like pizza and oh yeah there was a really hot guy that worked there lol.
I had come out to my closest friends at this point (who were mostly girls) and so we had fun going to Pizza Hut and ordering some large cheesy bites pizzas to share while eyeing up the eye candy that was David, we would then of course go off to the cinema and get drunk while whispering about how hot he was and how one of us should ask him out … you can probably see where things go next lol.
I don't remember exactly when but one of us eventually came up with the brilliant idea of sneaking vodka and or gin to our drinks during one of our little pizza hut dinners. The short story is we got pissed at Pizza Hut and I got over confident and said to our waitress 'can you go tell David that we all think he's really hot' lol. It's amazing how confident you can get when you have a few drinks isn't it lol?
The waitress of course went over to him after cleaning up our table, and spoke to him behind the bar. I could hear what she said but she literally pointed at me directly and he stared at me and started laughing. Now don't get me wrong this isn't some trumatic story for me and it's really just a silly story I often think about from time to time, usually when I drive past a pizza hut lol.
I never did know if David was Gay or not an neither the waitress nor any of the staff ever said anything. I was too embarrassed to go back for a few weeks and when I returned, David never seemed to be there. I don't think he quit his job because of it or anything but it kinda made me sad. He was the first guy I ever really plucked up the courage to ask out (without first finding out if they are gay or not).
Its hard asking guys out, it's a straight world and let's face it most guys are straight. You gotta be careful about asking guys out Incase they take it the wrong way. I've been there and although things are getting better I know guys who have been beaten up or made fun of for telling a guy they like that he's hot and the guy in question who turned out to be straight didn't like it.
By the way you may be wondering why I picked a picture of Gay Pornstar Darius Ferdynand for this post and it's simple. David from Pizza Hut looked just like him 🤤 he was probably a few years older than I was and was probably one of the first guys I ever had a crush on lol.
