Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is the automatic winner of the 1930s section because it’s the only one.

Positive propaganda is allowed, I just may not publish it all if there is heavy volume.

Winners of the year have a sun emoji and are italicized, winners of the decade have a moon emoji and are bolded, the final winner will be blue and have a star emoji.

The 2020s poll from 2024 and onward (lol) will just have the top movie from each year go against the new ones. If we run out of slots available for all the new movies with the previous winners, I will hold a poll with just the new movies, get a winner, and then run it against the old year winners of the 2020s.

If I remember to run this tournament into the 2030s, I will do an Over the Centuries poll comparing the favorite of one century of Disney animation to another :).

Loyalty comes to a head in reading of ‘Sibling Rivalries’ at JCTC

Jersey City Theater Center will have its next live play reading, “Sibling Rivalries” by Marcus Scott, on Monday, Sept. 18, at 7:30 p.m. The new play is set at a fictional Ivy League school in the years following the Obama Administration.

This political drama follows a group of young black men, all members of a fraternity, who face shifting loyalties and eroded principles when they are forced to compete against one another for a prestigious fellowship.

“As we prepare to showcase the extraordinary talent of Marcus Scott, a remarkable representative of the black, queer community, whose work we have had the privilege of nurturing by providing a creative residency in 2023, our enthusiasm knows no bounds,” said Olga Levina, the executive producer at JCTC. “At the very core of our mission lies our unwavering commitment to open doors for emerging playwrights, allowing their voices to resound both locally and globally. JCTC is immensely thankful for our enduring partnership with I Love Greenville and the sponsorship from Healthier JC. Our collaboration has given rise to a wide spectrum of programming, each piece thoughtfully designed to shed light on the experiences and obstacles faced by people of color while celebrating their rich cultural traditions.”

Scott is a playwright, musical theatre writer, and journalist. Some of his full-length work includes “Tumbleweed” (finalist: 2017 BAPF & the 2017 Festival of New American Plays at Austin Playhouse; semifinalist: 2022 O’Neill NPC, 2022 Blue Ink Playwriting Award & 2017 New Dramatists Princess Grace Award in Playwriting Fellowship), “There Goes The Neighborhood” (finalist: 2023 New Dramatists Princess Grace Award in Playwriting Fellowship, 2023 Blue Ink Playwriting Award, the 2019 Bushwick Starr Reading Series; semifinalist: 2023 BAPF), and “Cherry Bomb” (recipient: 2017 Drama League First Stage Artist-In-Residence, 2017 New York Theatre Barn’s New Works Series; 2017 finalist for the Yale Institute for Music Theatre).

He was commissioned by Heartbeat Opera to adapt Beethoven’s “Fidelio” and his one-act “Sundown Town” was published in Obsidian: Literature and Arts of the African Diaspora: Issue: 48.1.

There was a knock on Virgil’s door. He opened it without even checking the peephole, which he regretted immediately. Right outside the door was Roman, wearing a dark blue v-neck sweater with the school logo on it and some atrocious paint-stained jeans that somehow still managed to look okay on him. His hair was carelessly mussed and he almost looked embarrassed to be there. Virgil immediately squashed all uncomfortable emotions. It was too early in the evening to be feeling feelings.

“Sup?” he asked neutrally, having no context as to why Roman was at his door on a late Saturday afternoon.

“Hey, is Logan here?” Roman asked.

Those feelings that Virgil wasn’t feeling suddenly felt like a huge weight in the pit of his stomach. “He went home for the weekend,” Virgil said. “Why?”

“Oh, I was gonna ask him if he’d help me with my math homework,” Roman said. Almost immediately, the weight was lifted. Virgil was going to get emotional whiplash from all these feelings that he definitely wasn’t having tonight.

“Math homework? Aren’t you a theatre major?”

“It’s for those general education requirement things that we have to take forty credits for,” Roman said.

“Oh,” Virgil said. “I think I tested out of some of those.”

“Heh, I wish I was smart like that,” Roman said, with a half-smile. “I’m taking the basic stats class. I was just hoping, y’know, since Logan’s already taking calc--wait, you tested out of those? Do you think you could help me?”

Virgil almost squirmed under the uncomfortably bright beam of hopefulness that Roman was beaming in his direction. “I could try?” he said. ��I’m not sure I’ll be any help, but I can try.”

“Thank you, Virgil! You’re a lifesaver!”

“Yeah, yeah, lemme get my keys,” Virgil mumbled, going back into his room and grabbing his dorm keys. He took a surreptitious glance in the mirror to make sure he didn’t look too red, and then joined Roman in the dorm next door.

What followed were four of the most painful hours of Virgil’s life. Almost all of the problems that Roman needed help on were worded so poorly that Virgil wondered if the professor was intentionally trying to make their students fail. But this was college; professors didn’t do that in college, did they?

Once they’d finally determined what it was that the question was asking, Roman either understood how to do it immediately or couldn’t grasp the concept at all. In the case of the latter, it took several different bouts of explanation, examples, and sometimes fighting in order to get the concept to click in Roman’s head. Over the course of the four hours, Virgil went from still-nervous around Roman to completely comfortable and entirely exasperated.

It was eleven pm by the time they’d finally solved the last question. Roman cheered when it was finished. Virgil sighed in relief and dropped his head on the desk.

“That was really stressful,” Roman said, rubbing his face and yawning.

“Yeah,” Virgil said.

“You wanna watch a movie? Try and actually relax, since it’s the weekend?”

“What movie?” Virgil asked, slowly picking his head up.

“I was thinking something Disney, but we have the entire internet at our disposal if you’re not interested in that.”

“I love Disney,” Virgil said.

Roman gave him a tired, but genuine grin. “Lion King?”

“Sure,” Virgil said, with a half-smile of his own.

“I hope you don’t mind watching it on the laptop. We haven’t figured out how to hook up Patton’s TV yet.”

“No, that’s fine.”

“You wanna sit on the bed? It’s way more comfortable than these weird dorm chairs.”

“Uh, sure,” Virgil said, suddenly getting a flicker of nervousness. “I mean, if you don’t mind.”

“Nope. Just kick your shoes off first.”

Within minutes, Virgil was shoulder-to-shoulder with the guy he’d been crushing on since the first day. He was incredibly nervous, and yet, the closeness was surprisingly comfortable. It almost felt natural. He supposed that maybe all that neighborly bonding that Patton had been pushing them all into for the last several weeks had actually been somewhat effective.

Roman started the movie, and they both became quickly absorbed in it. He kept it at a fairly low volume; after all, it might be Saturday, but it was nearly midnight and they still had to observe quiet hours. He was delighted to find that Virgil was just as willing to sing the songs as he was. It was so rare to find a friend who liked Disney as intensely as he did.

As the movie went on, Virgil got quieter and quieter, moving from singing to humming, and then stopping completely. Roman honestly barely noticed, too absorbed in the movie, and was surprised to find that Virgil had fallen asleep against his shoulder once the movie had ended. Roman felt a little guilty; after all, not only had he worn out Virgil’s energy and patience with his math homework, but he’d asked him to stay up until the wee hours of the morning with him watching a movie. Not wanting to disturb him further, Roman gently moved Virgil so he was actually laying on the bed instead of sitting on it, then put the laptop on his desk and grabbed his phone to text Patton. Then, realizing that it was past one in the morning, he decided against that idea, and just lay down next to Virgil. Tomorrow he’d ask Patton if he would mind Roman using his bed if this situation were to arise again. Tonight, he didn’t want to risk Patton getting mad.

Patton came home bright and early Sunday morning, just before lunch. Knowing that Roman usually slept until one or two on the weekends, he slipped in silently, not wanting to wake the other. He made sure to shut the door without a click, and then turned towards the rest of the dorm.

And froze. There, on Roman’s bed, was a familiar black hoodie. And a familiar neighbor inside that black hoodie. And the arms of the black hoodie were curled around his roommate. The sight was so unexpected that Patton short-circuited for a moment. When did this happen? And how?

Then, recovering his senses, Patton grinned and quietly put his stuff down. Then, he quickly scribbled a note for Roman and put it on his desk. After that, he made his way back out of the dorm, headed for the food hall.

I don’t mind that you bring your boyfriend into the dorm, but I would appreciate if you could text me next time. I’d rather not walk in on an awkward situation.

Leaked e-mails between the Lugar Center, the Pentagon biolaboratory in Tbilisi, the US Embassy to Georgia and the Georgian Ministry of Health reveal new information about the [$161 million][4] secretive US Government biological research program in this former Soviet country.

The data allegedly originating from the Ministry of Health of Georgia has been published anonymously on Twitter and on a forum for database leaks – Raidforums. Among the documents there are internal memos, official letters and detailed information about US government projects at the Lugar Center, funding and foreign business trips.

Arms Watch volunteers have analyzed the leaked data and discovered very interesting facts about the Center’s recent activities.

The Pentagon has planned to turn Georgia into its largest biological research center overseas, combining its military resources with the resources of the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in Georgia.

Furthermore, the number of US projects and grants have increased as well as the number of US scientists deployed to the Lugar Center. The Pentagon-funded facility is planned to temporarily accommodate 16 CDC specialists from Atlanta, for whom Georgia will build a separate BSL-2 laboratory, administrative building and a campus near the Lugar Center. In addition, Georgia will become a regional CDC hub for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, internal documents reveal.

The Lugar Center already sparked controversy about possible dual-use research in 2018 when [leaked documents][5] revealed that US diplomats in Georgia were involved in the trafficking of frozen human blood and pathogens for a secret military program.

The Lugar Center is just one of the many [Pentagon biolaboratories in 25 countries][6] across the world. They are funded by the US Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) under a [$ 2.1 billion military program – Cooperative Biological Engagement Program (CBEP)][7], and are located in former Soviet Union countries such as Georgia (the motherland of former Soviet leader Joseph Stalin) and Ukraine, the Middle East, South East Asia and Africa.

**Pentagon research on bioterrorism agents at the Lugar Center**

US military scientists have been deployed to Georgia for research on bioterrorism agents at the Lugar Center, according to the new data leak. [These bio-agents][8] have the potential to be aerosolized and used as bioweapons. Among them anthrax, tularemia, Brucella, Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever, Hantavirus, Y. pestis (causing the disease plague).

The US military biological research projects in Georgia have been funded by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA). According to internal data, American and Georgian scientists are currently working on the following DTRA projects in the Lugar Center:

**Project 1059:** **Zoonotic Infections with Fever and Skin Injuries in Georgia**

The project includes isolation of new orthopoxviruses in humans, rodents, domestic and wild animals in Georgia, and collection of rodents (as a natural reservoir for this virus) for their further study.

**Project 1439:** **Molecular Virological Research in Georgia**

Description and objectives:

* Identify and characterize Hantavirus and Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus (CCHFV) strains by molecular methods; * Characterize and study genetic diversity of Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus and hantavirus strains isolated from rodents and ectoparasites; * Serological examination of febrile patients with Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever and hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome; * Collection of rodents and ectoparasites (ticks, fleas);

**Project 1497:** **Molecular Epidemiology and Ecology of Yersinia Species in Georgia and Azerbaijan**

Description: 1) Ecological research on rodents in Kerb on the Georgian-Azerbaijani border 2) Isolation of different strains of Yersinia; 3) Molecular screening of collected rodent and flea samples. 4) A comparative analysis of the genomes of Yersinia strains obtained during the fieldwork; 5) Spatial analysis of the distribution of Yersinia strains.

**Project 1742:** **Risks of bat-borne zoonotic diseases in Western Asia**

In 2017 the US Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) launched a [$6.5 million project on bats and coronaviruses][11] in Western Asia (Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Jordan) with the Lugar Center being the local laboratory for this genetic research. The duration of the program is 5 years and has been implemented by the non-profit [US organisation Eco Health Alliance.][12]

The project’s objectives are: 1. Capture and non-lethally sample 5,000 bats in 5-year period (2017-2022) 2. Collect 20,000 samples (i.e. oral, rectal swabs and/or feces, and blood) and screen for coronaviruses using consensus PCR at regional labs in Georgia and Jordan. According to [the project presentation][13], Eco Health Alliance already sampled 270 bats of 9 species in three Western Asian countries: 90 individual bats in Turkey (Aug 2018), Georgia (Sept 2018), and Jordan (Oct 2018).

Despite the official claims of Georgia and USA that the Lugar Center is under the full control of the government of this Caucasus country internal documents show otherwise. Not only has the Pentagon funded biological research projects but it has also paid all the expenses for security and maintenance including utility bills – water, gas, electricity, and cleaning. Tasked with the operational and scientific support to the Lugar Center is USAMRU-Georgia, a special unit deployed to Georgia by the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR). WRAIR has paid: $524,625 (2016-2018), $650,000 (2017-2019) and $1,062,400 (2017-2021) for utility bills, and a further $158,050 (2016-2017) and $322,000 (2018-2021) for security guards.

The Pentagon has also awarded a private US contractor, Technology Management Company (TMC) an [$8 million contract][17] for science services to support USAMRU-Georgia in the Lugar Center (2016-2021).

**Tularemia research on soldiers**

The Pentagon unit USAMRU-Georgia has conducted extensive research on tularemia involving Georgian soldiers, [scientific papers][18] reveal.

Tularemia is a rare infectious disease that typically attacks the skin, eyes, lymph nodes and lungs. According to the study, 10 soldiers (2%) of the 500 solders tested had antibodies for F. tularensis. The seropositive soldiers were men, the majority of whom were between 30 and 39 years of age. Seven cases had current residences in known endemic areas (i.e. Kakheti, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Kvemo Kartli, Shida Kartli, and Tbilisi). Three were from areas without previously known F. tularensis transmission (i.e. Imereti).

Of the 783 residents approached to participate in this study, 35 (5.0%) volunteers had antibodies to _F. tularensis_.

While the civilian volunteers were all residents of two areas with naturally occurring foci of tularemia in Georgia, the military personnel were soldiers visiting Georgia’s military hospital. The study does not provide any explanation as to why soldiers were enrolled in this project nor how exactly they contracted the disease in the army.

The US Government has launched a parallel civil program in Georgia implemented by the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC). It’s the first by a woman to log its first four weeks on the chart at No. 1 since 2015.

Taylor Swift’s Folklore is No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart for a fourth straight week, becoming the first album by a woman to spend its first four weeks at No. 1 in nearly five years.

Folklore earned 101,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending Aug. 20 (down 26%), according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. It’s the fourth straight week the set has tallied at least 100,000 units -- a rarity for a non-R&B or hip-hop album.

Folklore launched at No. 1 on the chart dated Aug. 8 with 846,000 units -- the biggest week of 2020, and the largest for any album since Swift’s last release, Lover, bowed at No. 1 with 867,000 units on the Sept. 7, 2019, chart.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album. The new Aug. 29-dated chart (where Folklore spends a fourth week at No. 1) will be posted in full on Billboard's website on Aug. 25.

Of Folklore’s units earned in the newest tracking week, SEA units comprise 53,000 (down 22%, equaling 70.48 million on-demand streams of the album’s songs), album sales total 46,000 (down 31%) and TEA units equal 2,000 (up 73%).

In the week ending Aug. 20, Folklore benefited from the release of a deluxe version of the album at digital retailers and streamers that added a bonus track, “The Lakes,” which was previously exclusive to the physical formats of the album. In addition, Swift dropped new merchandise/album bundles in her official webstore and sold signed Folklore CDs at independent record stores (which generated buzz with Swift fans and indie store owners).

Concurrently, three different Folklore singles are continuing to make inroads at radio. On the most recently published airplay charts (dated Aug. 22, reflecting the tracking week ending Aug. 16), former No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hit “Cardigan” climbed 22-18 on the Pop Songs airplay chart; “Exile,” featuring Bon Iver, rose 27-29 on the Adult Alternative Songs airplay tally and “Betty” bounced 52-49 on Country Airplay.

100,000 Units in Four Weeks: As Folklore earned 101,000 equivalent album units in its fourth week, it’s just the second album in 2020 to yield at least 100,000 units in each of its first four weeks. Beginning in July, rapper Pop Smoke’s Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon also saw its first four weeks tally at least 100,000 units. (Another hip-hop set, Juice WRLD’s Legends Never Die, is the only other album with four weeks of 100,000-plus units in 2020, but they were nonconsecutive.)

Folklore is the first non-R&B/hip-hop album to earn four weeks of 100,000-plus units since Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s A Star Is Born soundtrack notched a fourth, and final, nonconsecutive week of 100,000-plus units on March 9, 2019.

Further, Folklore is the first non-R&B/hip-hop effort to see its first four weeks each earn 100,000-plus since Swift’s own Reputation (Dec. 2-23, 2017).

First Album by a Woman to Spend Its First Four Weeks at No. 1 Since 2015: As Folklore spends a fourth week at No. 1, it becomes the first album by a woman to rule for its first four weeks since Adele’s 25 topped the list in its first seven weeks (of its total of 10 nonconsecutive weeks at No. 1). 25 debuted at No. 1 on the Dec. 12, 2015-dated chart, and was No. 1 through Jan. 23, 2016. It then returned to No. 1 on Feb. 13, 2016 for one week, and then for two more weeks on March 5-12, 2016.

The last album by any act to spend its first four weeks at No. 1 -- and the only other album to do so in 2020 aside from Folklore -- was The Weeknd’s After Hours (April 4-25).

Since Adele’s 25, the only albums by women with four total weeks at No. 1 are Swift’s Reputation (four weeks; with three in a row between Dec. 2-16, 2017, and one more at No. 1 on Jan. 6, 2018) and Lady Gaga’s A Star Is Born soundtrack, with Bradley Cooper (four weeks; with three consecutive between Oct. 20 and Nov. 3, 2018, and one more on March 9, 2019).

According to the Bible (Prophecy Update)

One, according to the Bible, there will be a one-world religion headed up by someone called the False Prophet during the Tribulation Period.

In Feb. 2019, Pope Francis and a Muslim Sheikh, Ahmed al-Tayeb, signed an agreement called the Document on Human Fraternity for World Peace.

The purpose of this document is to merge the religions to create world peace.

Francis and the Imam established a Higher Committee of Human Fraternity to bring together people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and nationalities.

The committee met twice in Sept. 2019.

They announced plans to build a complex called the “Abrahamic Family House” in Abu Dhabi.

Plans called for the “Abrahamic Family House” to have a church, a mosque and a synagogue (separate places for Christians, Muslims and Jews to worship) and a fourth place for people of all religions to come together as one body.

Francis and the Imam would promote peace, coexistence, and brotherhood among all religions.

On June 15, 2021, it was reported that construction on the Abrahamic Family House is well underway.

The foundations of the church, mosque and synagogue have been laid, construction is about one-fifth done, and the buildings are projected to open in 2022.

The mosque will be called the Imam Al Tayeb Mosque; the church will be called St Francis Church, and the synagogue will be called the Moses ben Maimon Synagogue (after a famous 12th-century Jewish scholar).

The UAE views itself as a tolerant nation and boasts that it allows dozens of religions to worship there.

A UAE official said Christians, Jews and Muslims make up more than half the world’s population.

The article also said the first Hindu Temple is scheduled to open in the UAE in 2023.

At least a few Bible prophecy teachers believe Pope Francis and the Imam Al Tayeb are trying to establish Chrislam (the merging of Christianity, Judaism and Islam; the three faiths that trace their beginning to Abraham) as the one-world religion.

Two, according to the Bible, the Tribulation Period will begin when the Antichrist confirms a covenant for peace in the Middle East.

On June 12, 2021, it was reported that the Biden administration is supporting the Abraham Accords negotiated by the Trump administration and is eager to expand them.

However, Biden’s state department is recommending that these agreements be called normalization agreements instead of the Abraham Accords.

The change in administrations has not stopped the quest for a covenant of peace in the Middle East.

Three, according to the Bible, Jerusalem will be a cup of trembling and a burdensome stone for the world at the end of the age.

In 1967, 80,000 or more troops from several Arab nations moved 1,000 or more tanks and heavy weapons close to Israel’s borders in preparation for an attack.

On June 5, 1967, Israel launched a pre-emptive strike, defeated the Arab nations, captured East Jerusalem, and reunited the city.

Jews call the reunification of Jerusalem “Jerusalem Day.”

They celebrate “Jerusalem Day” and their sovereignty over the city by singing, dancing, and waving the Israeli flag in a parade through the center of the city.

Under the direction of Iran, the terrorist group Hamas located in Gaza called the celebration offensive and threatened violence if the Jews did not cancel it.

Jerusalem Day fell on May 10, 2021; the Jews did not cancel the parade, but it was interrupted by sirens at the Wailing Wall because Hamas was firing rockets at Jerusalem (during the recent May 11-day war).

The May 11-day war ended; the parade was rescheduled for June 15, 2021; Hamas threatened violence again; the Jews still did not cancel it, but they revised the route to keep the parade just outside the city.

This time Hamas responded by launching incendiary balloons (balloons carrying fire bombs) into Israel that started several mostly small fires.

On June 17, 2021, Israel retaliated by bombing 10 Hamas targets in the Gaza strip.

This controversy over Jerusalem clearly fits in with Bible prophecy.

A very interesting comment came from Yair Golan, a member of the new Prime Min. Naftali Bennett’s coalition: “This is not just a parade of flags; there will be other nationalist initiatives, the purpose of which is to bring about the War of Gog and Magog.”

Many Bible prophecy teachers believe the Battle of Gog and Magog is close, and the Bible says it will take place in the latter years and latter days.

It must happen.

On June 20, 2021, following more riots and violence by Hamas, Israeli Prime Min. Bennett sent a warning to Hamas that our patience “has run out,” we will not tolerate “any more violence” from you of any kind.

Some Israeli officials said the violence must stop or Israel will resume the May 11-day war.

Four, according to the Bible, the Jews will return to the Promised Land in two great waves at the end of the age: the first great wave will be unbelieving Jews before the Tribulation Period, and the second great wave will be believing Jews at the end of the Tribulation Period.

On June 17, 2021, it was reported that 6% of the global Jewish population lived in Israel in 1948, but more than 40% of the global Jewish population lives in Israel today.

Covid, lockdowns, closed airports, closed borders, war, etc., slowed the return in recent months, but these things could not stop it, and the number of applications from young adult Jews (age 18-35) wanting to relocate to Israel has surged (up more than 40%).

The global pandemic, grounded airplanes, thousands of rockets fired at Israel, Muslim threats, etc., have not stopped God’s Word from being fulfilled.

Five, according to the Bible, knowledge will greatly increase at the time of the end.

It was recently reported that IBM said knowledge will soon double every 12 hours because of quantum computing.

Britt Gillette, founder of the “End Times Bible Prophecy” website and author of several books, recently noted that Google plans to build a million-qubit quantum computer by 2029. IBM and the UK have agreed to invest 300 million dollars on a quantum computing project, and many other corporations around the world are investing in quantum computing applications.

Quantum computing will accelerate knowledge, weapons development, tracking everything, make it possible for one nation to control everyone on earth, and more.

It seems obvious that the prophesied increase of knowledge at the time of the end is taking place (Dan. 12:4).

Six, according to the Bible, the God that created this world and all humans has warned the nations that He will cut them into pieces and drag them into the Battle of Armageddon for coming against Jerusalem, scattering the Jews, and dividing the land of Israel at the time of the end (during the Tribulation Period; Zech. 12:1-3; Joel 3:2).

History is not there yet, but God appears to be warning world leaders to leave Israel and Jerusalem alone.

In his June 18, 2021 issue of “Koenig’s Eye View from the White House,” William Koenig inferred that Trump, Netanyahu and the world seemed to be moving along in a normal fashion until they signed the “Peace to Prosperity Plan” at the White House on Jan. 28, 2020.

Immediately after the signing of that document, leaders of Germany, France, the UK, the EU, the Arab League, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) expressed their support for the Two-State Solution, UN resolution 242 and 338, and the 2002 Arab Peace Initiative that will divide the land of Israel, etc.

Then, on Sept. 15, 2021, Trump and Netanyahu signed the Abraham Accords, which will also divide the land of Israel.

Koenig noted that Covid-19 came on the scene as a global pandemic and caused worldwide problems, Trump was removed from office, and Netanyahu is now out of office.

If the world keeps ignoring God’s warnings (and it will), the Church will be Raptured, and world leaders will be in the Tribulation Period.

Seven, according to the Bible: Russia, Iran, Turkey, and others will attack Israel at the Battle of Gog and Magog in the latter days and latter years (Ezek. 38:1-8, 16).

Iran is enriching uranium for use in nuclear missiles, and some speculate that the Battle of Gog and Magog might be triggered by Israel striking Iran’s nuclear facilities first.

On June 18, 2021, Iran elected a new President named Ebrahim Raisi.

Russia and Turkey quickly congratulated Raisi on his victory.

He will take office in August 2021.

On June 18, 2021, Israel’s Foreign Minister Lapid said Raisi is known as the Butcher of Tehran because he is responsible for killing thousands of Iranians.

Israel expects Raisi to build up Iran’s uranium stockpile, and an unnamed Israeli source said, “There will be no choice but to go back and prepare attack plans for Iran’s nuclear program.”

Think about it; Iran started the recent May 11-day war with Israel, Iran is seeking nuclear missiles, and the Butcher of Tehran is the soon to be Pres. of Iran.

Other than the latter days and latter years, only God knows when this war will take place, but it appears to be close.

Incidentally, Paul said, “in the last days, perilous times shall come” (II Tim. 3:1), and on June 18, 2021, it was reported that US Sec. of State Blinken told Congress, “The situation (in Iran) is becoming increasingly perilous.”

Also, concerning the election of Raisi, a US State Department spokesperson said, “Iranians were denied their right to choose their own leaders in a free and fair electoral process.”

Millions think that is what happened in the US.

Eight, according to the Bible, the nations that burden themselves with Jerusalem at the end of the age will face the judgment of God (Zech. 12:3).

On Dec. 6, 2017, Pres. Trump recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and ordered the US embassy to be moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem (opened on May 14, 2018).

He followed that with an order to close the US Consulate in East Jerusalem that served the Palestinians (Mar. 4, 2019).

On June 22, 2021, it was reported that Pres. Biden wants to reopen the US Consulate in East Jerusalem, and that would reverse Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the undivided capital of Israel.

Biden needs Prime Min. Bennett’s approval to open a Consulate in Jerusalem, and the report said he opposes it but is likely to approve it to avoid embarrassing Biden.

If Bennett lets Biden do this, the US and Israel could both be in trouble with God (Gen. 12:3, Joel 3:2; Zech. 12:3).

Nine, concerning the ability to track everyone: on June 21, 2021, it was reported that some people that have been vaccinated for Covid are being tracked in real time by 5G Cell phone towers.

Data on their location, vital signs, etc., is being uploaded to computers and stored in massive databases.

This writer cannot prove the accuracy of this report, but if it is true, people are likely unknowingly agreeing to be tracked when they agree to be vaccinated.

I have little knowledge of things like this, but it seems to me that they have nanochips in their body that act somewhat like a computer operating system.

Some say this internal operating system is not the Mark of the Beast, but it is a step in that direction, and future vaccinations will take them there.

DC FanDome: Schedule, Date, Time, and How to Watch

Fans hoping for major DC news in lieu of an actual San Diego Comic-Con are definitely going to get just that at DC FanDome, a digital event designed to be watched at home like a real con.

Originally set up as one epic night of panels and reveals, DC announced that it will be splitting FanDome into two separate and distinct events: Hall of Heroes, which will be held in late August, and WatchVerse in mid-September.

The August date still holds most of the big-ticket items. It’s billed by DC as “an epic world designed personally by Jim Lee featuring special programming, panels and exclusive reveals from a wide variety of films, TV series, games, comics and more.” Functionally, it’s the Hall H of FanDome.

DC FanDome: WatchVerse Date and Time

Report: As EPA pulls back under Trump, serious pollution rises on Great Lakes

President Donald Trump's administration has scaled back enforcement of environmental regulations in the Great Lakes region — and it's having a noticeable, negative impact, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's own data. So states a new report from the Chicago-based nonprofit Environmental Law and Policy Center.

The data comes from multiple EPA databases and websites. It's all there for the public to access, but usually in complex charts heavy with bureaucratic, regulatory language, said ELPC executive director Howard Learner.

"You can take the individual data points, and they don't tell you a lot," he said. "But when you put them together, you then see what the overall picture looks like. And it's disturbing."

The ELPC is a leading advocate in the Midwest for improving environmental quality and protecting natural resources. Though Learner has stated, "Protecting the Great Lakes is bipartisan and nonpartisan," the group have been sharp critics of Trump's environmental policies and priorities since he took office in 2017.

The ELPC report looked at activity in EPA's Region 5, which covers Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Among its findings:

Fewer regulatory cases are being initiated and concluded by the EPA against polluters. Between fiscal years 2012 to 2015, there were an average of 320 cases initiated per year, but that has dropped to an average of 230 cases per year for fiscal years 2016 through 2019, a more than 28% decline.

Compliance with environmental regulations in the Great Lakes region is declining. In fiscal year 2019, there were 62% more facilities in "significant noncompliance" with the Clean Water Act, compared with the average number of facilities for fiscal years 2012 to 2017.

More water pollution; less looking for it

The EPA's own data shows that particularly since 2017, EPA's Region 5, overseeing the Great Lakes and surrounding states, is initiating fewer cases with polluters. Meanwhile the number of major facilities in "significant noncompliance" with the federal Clean Water Act has sharply risen.

That significant noncompliance data excludes Michigan cases, because of a data communication problem between the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy's data reporting system and the EPA's Enforcement Compliance History Online (ECHO) database, said ELPC staff attorney Jeffrey Hammons, a co-author of the report. The data-sharing problem has since been resolved by the two agencies, but it made some past years' data from Michigan potentially unreliable, he said.

Data from the other five Great Lakes states provides strong evidence of declining Clean Water Act compliance in the region, however, that probably rings true in Michigan as well, Hammons said.

"The only way Michigan's data could change the regional trend is if they had a bunch of noncompliance four years ago and then it sharply went down. But that’s probably not the case," he said.

Penalties against polluters have dropped. In Region 5 in fiscal year 2016, the EPA assessed $1.91 million in penalties against violators of the federal Clean Water Act and the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), a program worked through state environmental regulators to monitor point sources of pollution such as factories. The EPA assessed $1.1 million in penalties for such violations the following year. But by fiscal year 2019, the penalty amount in Region 5 had dropped to $429,774.

Compliance costs — the costs firms incur to reduce or prevent pollution to comply with a regulation — have plummeted. In fiscal year 2012, such costs totaled more than $920 million. They had dropped by nearly 73%, to $251 million, by fiscal year 2019.

The cost, penalty for polluting declines

EPA data shows that in the agency's Region 5, overseeing the Great Lakes and surrounding states, polluters are paying much less in costs of compliance with environmental regulations, and penalties for violations, under the Trump Administration.

EPA Region 5, in an emailed statement to the Free Press, said it hadn't been provided with a copy of ELPC's report, so it couldn't comment on its data or the methodology the nonprofit used to arrive at its conclusions.

"EPA Region 5 maintains a robust compliance assurance and enforcement program," the agency stated. "EPA's enforcement program is concerned with outcomes, not outputs. We don't set quotas for enforcement cases."

The agency cited progress in reductions of significant noncompliance with pollution discharge requirements from the first quarter of fiscal year 2019 to the first quarter of this fiscal year. It also cited data reporting issues with "certain states" that the agency did not specify, as "a key reason for recent increases in reported rates of significant noncompliance in Region 5."

Hammons, however, said ELPC did a data quality control check on other Region 5 states, "and they were not having the same problem" as Michigan with that data.

In his 2016 campaign, Trump frequently pledged to scale back environmental regulations toughened during President Barack Obama's tenure, and to take an approach more accommodating to business and industry.

That's come to fruition in EPA's Region 5. The ELPC report notes February 2020 staffing at the regional office at 940 people, a more than 8% reduction from two years earlier. Actual spending by the EPA nationwide on enforcement and compliance monitoring has dropped more than 18% from fiscal year 2011 levels.

The ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic further led the Trump administration late last month to waive enforcement on a range of legally mandated public health and environmental protections, saying industries could have trouble complying with them amid COVID-19. The Trump administration on Thursday scaled back an Obama-era rule that compelled reductions in emissions of mercury and other human health hazards, a move designed to limit future regulation of air pollutants from coal and oil-fired power plants.

EPA chief Andrew Wheeler said the rollback was reversing what he depicted as regulatory overreach by the Obama administration. “We have put in place an honest accounting method that balances” the cost to utilities with public safety, he said.

That's the wrong approach in a public health crisis, Learner said.

"The public expects, amid a pandemic, the president to step up with actions to help solve the problem, instead of making bad environmental problems worse," he said.

Great Lakes enforcement less prioritized

The Trump Administration has spent less on enforcement and compliance of environmental regulations through its budgeting for the Environmental Protection Agency.

ELPC's report provides an example of a polluting company in the Great Lakes region, Reserve Environmental Services Inc. of Ashtabula, Ohio, east of Cleveland and less than two-and-a-half miles from the shores of Lake Erie. The waste management company handles both hazardous and non-hazardous waste, discharging into Whitman Creek, which crosses the facility's property and flows directly into Lake Erie.

More than 5,000 people live within a 3-mile radius of the facility, 37% of them identified as low-income, the report found. Since Jan. 1, 2017, Reserve has reported exceeding its effluent limits nearly 200 times for potentially health-harming pollutants such as mercury, nickel, ammonia and fecal coliform. Many of the violations have been ongoing for a year or more.

"EPA has not undertaken any formal enforcement actions against Reserve," the ELPC report states. "The lack of enforcement means the potential public health harms from these potential violations are still unknown and unaddressed. The serial nature of Reserve's violations, combined with the lack of any EPA enforcement, provides a real-world example of how reduced enforcement puts the environment at risk."

As the EPA has pulled back on regulation, it has called on states to increasingly regulate their own environmental concerns. But the ELPC report shows Great Lakes states are scaling back environmental regulation, too. Michigan is one of only two states in the region, along with Minnesota, to increase its environmental regulatory budget from 2008 to 2018, up 6%. Regulatory spending is down 12% to 36% in the other five states in that time frame. But Michigan EGLE staffing levels are down 22% from 2008 levels, similar to declines in other Great Lakes states.

Radu’s Story

Note: This is the “Hollywood” version of the story including many popular myths about Radu cel Frumos. How true some of these myths are will be further explored in later posts on this blog.

Do you want to hear a story?

It’s about Dracula.

No, not that Dracula, the real one.

No, not Vlad “the Impaler” Dracula. The other one. Radu “the Beautiful” Dracula.

There’s two Draculas! you say.

Well, actually there were three, (not including all the illegitimate Draculas) but I’m here to tell you about the youngest; Radu III cel Frumos.

A quick google search will tell you lots about this obscure Romanian noble – he was the Sultan’s “homosexual obsession”, “the man who killed Dracula”, the man who actually inspired Bram Stoker’s Dracula, a Muslim, a Christian, a weak-pushover and a strong military leader. In fact it will tell you so many things that you may ended up knowing nothing about him. In any case, let me try to give you an overview of the Hollywood highlights of the other Dracula’s life.

The 15th century Balkans

Radu was born sometime between 1437-1439, the third legitimate son of Vlad II Dracul. His father was Voivode (Prince) of Wallachia – barely. Despite being declared Voivode of Wallachia in 1431 Vlad Dracul hadn’t actually obtained the throne until 1436 because 15th century Balkan politics were a messTM.

Now, Vlad Dracul hadn’t been born with the name Dracul but had taken it after being indicted into the Order of the Dragon (Dracul=Dragon in Romanian). The Order of the Dragon was a Holy order of nobles founded to fight the enemies of Christendom - particularly the Ottoman Empire - and by taking the name Dracul Vlad proudly proclaimed himself as a member of this order. His sons, Radu and his two older brothers Vlad (later to be remembered as Vlad the Impaler) and Mircea, were consequently called Dracula meaning ‘Son of the Dragon’.

So, Radu’s early years were spent as a young Christian prince of a rather volatile country. However, Radu did not spend long in his Romanian homeland as by 1444 he, and his older brother Vlad, had been sent to the Ottoman court of Sultan Murad II as hostages.

The ruins of the Fortress of Eğrigöz in north-western Anatolia where Radu and Vlad spent their first few years as hostages before being relocated to the Ottoman capital at Edirne.

As hostages, the brothers were meant to ensure the loyalty of their father to the Ottoman Sultan and stop him from teaming up with Hungary in anti-Ottoman crusades under the threat that Sultan Murad would execute the boys. However, this did not stop Dracul from quickly betraying the Ottomans and assuming his sons dead (after all he still had his eldest son, Mircea, so Vlad and Radu weren’t that important).[1]

But luckily for Vlad and Radu, Murad had other reasons for keeping the boys alive. Through education and indoctrination he planned to raise the boys as good, loyal - and legitimate - future rulers of Wallachia.[2]

As a result the boys were well treated and educated by the finest tutors available, in logic, the Qu’ran, languages, horse riding, battle – all the necessary skills for great future rulers.

How Radu experienced these years in the Ottoman court is unclear. The general consensus is that whilst Vlad was just straight up not having a good time (often being whipped or beaten for being a bad student), Radu was more adaptive - but the consensus stops there. Depending on who you ask you might be told that he “was a compromiser, consumed by the pleasures of the palace” [3], a victim of Stockholm syndrome and “a weakling and a voluptuary, famous for his beauty” [4]. But others will say that he was an intelligent young man with both military and political promise.

However, a key part of his story that is often repeated, is that he was very good looking hence his nickname “cel Frumos” meaning “the beautiful” in Romanian. He attracted many admirers both male and female. Among them was Murad’s son, the future Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror. Although they had a rough start (their first kiss involved Radu stabbing Mehmed and then hiding up a tree) the two became very close and thanks to this relationship Radu gained much power at the court.[5]

Meanwhile, his relationship with his brother deteriorated and the two developed an intense hatred.[6]

At the end of 1447 the news reached the brothers that their father, Dracul, had been killed and their older brother, Mircea, had been buried alive by the Hungarians.[7] It was now time for Vlad, as the eldest, to take the Wallachian throne under the support of the Ottoman Sultan.

As Vlad left the palace of Edirne for Wallachia it would be more than a decade before he saw his younger brother again. And then it would be on the battlefield…

During this time Murad died and Mehmed took the Ottoman throne in 1451. Radu became a prominent figure in the Ottoman court, converted to Islam and played an important role in Mehmed’s conquest of Constantinople (maybe).[8]

However, his life at the Ottoman court ended in 1461 when Vlad (now Voivode of Wallachia) began actively rebelling against the Ottomans. Mehmed, who was busy trying to become the next Alexander the Great, did not have time for this. What he did have, was a perfect replacement for Vlad in the loyal Radu.

So, in Summer 1462 Radu and Mehmed crossed the Danube with 35,000 Ottoman soldiers against Vlad’s meagre 7-8,000.[9] Despite Vlad’s vicious scorched earth tactics and daring night attacks he stood no chance against the superior Ottoman forces and was forced to flee north. When Radu and Mehmed reached the Wallachian capital of Tărgovişte Vlad was long gone but had left a grisly gift that would earn him his nickname Ţepeş – the Impaler. Along the road to Tărgovişte he had planted a forest of impaled Ottoman soldiers that stretched for kilometres…[10]

A Saxon woodcut (c.1499) of Vlad enjoying a meal with some new garden ornaments. Despite the fact he definitely did impale people it’s worth remembering that a lot of the Saxon publications about him were essentially propaganda so take the image with a grain of salt.

Despite this horror, Radu took his place on the throne as Voivode Radu III. He ruled Wallachia for eleven years and by 15th century Balkans standards it was almost peaceful. Although he was supported by the Ottomans he managed to win the respect of the local Wallachian boyars (nobles) and maintain peace with Hungary (the other big regional power). However, his real trouble was with the third Romanian state – Moldavia - where Stephen the Great had come to the throne and was wanting to assert his dominance over the region. Stephen did not like Radu, mostly because of his pro-Turkish stance. In 1465 Stephen took control of the previously Wallachian port city of Chilia. There was a period of relative peace but then from 1470 onwards Radu and Stephen became engaged in a serious of border wars that ended with Stephen defeating Radu on November 18-20th 1473. Stephen marched into the Wallachia capital ready to place his own guy, Basarab Laoită, on the throne and Radu, like his brother before him (minus the forest of impaled people), was forced to flee the city leaving all his treasure, effects, clothing, wife and daughter behind.

Three weeks later Radu returned with Ottoman reinforcements and retook his throne (also his wife and daughter). Over the next year the throne continued to alternate between Basarab backed by Stepehn and Radu backed by the Ottomans until January 1475 when Radu was dethroned for the final time, presumably dying sometime soon after.[11]

The details are unknown but there are three main theories as to what caused his death and sudden absence from the historical record:

a) He was executed by Stephen the Great who was sick of having to dethrone him.[12]

b) He died of syphilis, “unloved and unmourned”[13]

c) He became a vampire[14]

My bets are on c)

The story of Radu is a good one. However, it’s also built on a lot of assumptions and blatant falsities that have been spread by academic and popular writers alike. Finding “The Truth” of Radu’s life necessitates a return to primary sources. But, how much of person can we really construct from a smattering of 15th century writings? And how much will we never know?

My Life at 30. 😍

Since the lockdown started, I make the most of my 'me' time reflecting on the significant milestones that happened in my life. I believe the best thing we can do to stand against this pandemic is to constantly pray, reflect, and remember how blessed we still are.

I realized, now in my early 30s, that my life has been defined by the journeys I take, not the destination I want to reach.

I don't know what destination will I end up in the long run. At some point I felt lost - far from getting where and who I want to be. I haven't reached my destination yet. But there's one thing I'm sure of - I'm enjoying every inch of my journey, from the simplest, most ordinary experiences of each day (Even the most complicated ones).

I decided to write this, not to brag but to inspire someone (somehow) to get a kick out of life. May you find joy in your journey and fall in love with the process because life is too beautiful to miss out.

The beloved Main Street Electrical Parade is returning to Disneyland Park Aug. 2, 2019, to bring guests of multiple generations a sense of wonder, joy and – for some – warm nostalgia. The iconic parade will travel down Main Street, U.S.A., for a limited-time engagement, through Sept. 30.

Main Street Electrical Parade made its world debut at Disneyland June 17, 1972, and later appeared at Disney Parks around the world. This spectacular pageant of nighttime magic and imagination entertained guests at Disneyland until it “glowed away” on Nov. 25, 1996. Most recently, the dazzling after-dark parade ran for a limited-time at Disneyland in 2017, and prior to that, it illuminated Disney California Adventure Park from 2001-2010. Here’s a closer look at the legacy of the Main Street Electrical Parade, by the numbers.

600,000 lights sparkle in the parade’s nighttime journey from Small World Mall in Fantasyland to Town Square on Main Street, U.S.A. (approximate number).

22 floats illuminate the parade route at Disneyland, nearly doubling the number of floats from the parade’s debut (12) in 1972.

7 films are represented in the parade: “Alice in Wonderland,” “Cinderella,” “Peter Pan,” “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “Pinocchio,” “Dumbo” and “Pete’s Dragon.”

27 beloved Disney characters perform throughout the show including Goofy, Mickey Mouse, Cinderella, Captain Hook and Tinker Bell.

80 parade performers (estimated number per night) bring the magic to light including 10 To Honor America patriots, 16 royal court dancers and the Seven Dwarfs.

At 5,600 pounds, the massive Elliot float, added in 1977 for the release of “Pete’s Dragon,” measures 16 feet tall, 10 feet wide and 38 feet long.

2 composers, Jean-Jacques Perrey and Gershon Kingsley, wrote the iconic synthesizer piece known as “Baroque Hoedown” in 1967, and the song was adapted for the Main Street Electrical Parade in 1972, interwoven with classic Disney themes to create the now iconic parade soundtrack.

6 different colors of light bulbs flash throughout the parade, in amber, blue, green, chartreuse, red and pink.

150,000 glowing amber lights are used in the production, the most of any color.

80 highly skilled cast members were involved in the creation of Main Street Electrical Parade, including 20 designers and 60 craftspeople.

5 Disney Parks have presented versions of the Main Street Electrical Parade including Disneyland, Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom Park, Disney California Adventure Park, Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris.

Historical:

Nearly 3,600 performances entertained guests at Disneyland from June 17, 1972 to Nov. 25, 1996.

900 miles is the approximate distance traveled by the Main Street Electrical parade during its original run at Disneyland, nearly the distance from Anaheim, Calif., to Seattle, Wash.

In 2005, Main Street Electrical Parade creator and former director of entertainment Robert Jani was inducted as a Disney Legend.

June 17, 1972, marked the debut of the Main Street Electrical Parade, and it returned for its encore performance at Disneyland 45 years later – Jan. 20-June 18, 2017.

500,000 hand-tinted white miniature bulbs twinkled each night in the early versions of the parade.

500 miles of wiring were used to light the floats during early years of the parade, enough to travel to the top of the Matterhorn and back nearly 9,000 times.

Approximately 75 million guests viewed the Main Street Electrical Parade during its original run at Disneyland.

A side note, not from the above Disney fact sheet: the use of the Baroque Hoedown in the Main Street Electrical Parade was actually unknown to the composers. The music publisher had given Disney permission to use the song without their knowledge.
