Hello! I’m going to one of the MCR shows in Brisbane and i was wondering if you could give me some info on the venue/etiquette over there (I’m from Puerto Rico). Do you know if they’ll do the wristband system for GA or if you’ll have to queue all day? Are pits particularly rowdy or anything like that? I’m so excited to go to Australia for the first time! Any tips on what to do/eat would also be welcomed 😅 thanks!

okay so you didn't specifically ask this but just as a general heads up because i worry about it - one thing for i know for sure is that overnight camping at this venue is strictly prohibited. it's also not actually possible at all, because the venue is in a large gated-off area that's locked at night and borders/is surrounded by swampy wilderness lol. so as a heads up to anyone attending the brisbane show, please please do not camp overnight it's not only illegal but very unsafe. you'll also literally be eaten alive by bugs lol it's a huge mosquito breeding ground. i promise you'll regret it lmaooo.

okay the rest of the answer is under a cut bc it got rambly lol sorry. but if anyone else is travelling to brisvegas 🤘🤘 for the show/s, here's a little crash course for you if you want lol

so to answer your original question, i highly doubt there'll be any kind of wristband system organised by the venue tbh, i've just never heard about a precedent for that here (though i haven't been to this particular venue since before covid so i guess i could be wrong). their website says you can queue "outside the turnstiles" on the day, so i think it'll just be down to who shows up tbh! also as a reminder, the venue is kind of out of the way and there isn't much in the way of food/water nearby to purchase so if you do do that, come prepared! and bring plenty of sunscreen and probably insect repellent. remember it will almost definitely still be quite hot in march down here. i'm not really expecting a very serious queue myself - i'm thinking there'll be maybe a dozen or two dedicated people who show up in the morning at most, and the rest won't show up until maybe a few hours in advance. i could be wrong though!! i'm personally not planning on getting up really early, i'd rather be rested for the show. maybe late morning? who knows i might change my mind

it's also not exactly the easiest venue to get to by public transport lol, your best bet is the nearby train station (boondall station). but on the plus side it's close to the airport!

as for pit rowdiness, it's really hard to say, i reckon it just varies from show to show. i'm honestly really curious myself as to what the crowds will be like because from what i can tell mcr aren't really as popular over here in general as they are in america/the uk (not so sure about europe). i already know a couple of people who are going who don't actually know much of their music they were just like oh huh mcr, i remember them LOL. for reference there are two shows in each city, one that was announced in 2019 and one that was added the second or third time they rescheduled, and in every city that second show still hasn't sold out. so i don't thiiiink the pit will be very rowdy at these particular shows, no. but same as always - if you're worried, just avoid standing front and centre!

as for what to do/eat - now this really depends on where you're staying and how long you're staying for! the best place for that kind of stuff is obvs around the centre of brisbane, whereas the mcr venue, like i said, is pretty close to the airport. if you want to really see brisbane and eat out in nicer restaurants/bars, southbank (most tourist-friendly place, accessible and genuinely nice to wander around along the river), the fortitude valley (which is also the nightlife district and chinatown), and west end (pretty heavily gentrified 'hip' youth area - lots of vegan food and brunch places, farmer's markets and the like) are probably your best bets, though not the cheapest. brisbane does actually have a good foodie culture so there's plenty around - it's hard to go wrong with asian food here thanks to australia's pretty high asian population! if your budget is smaller than that - dude trust me. go to any brumby's bakery or to any pie face and get a proper meat pie. and a lamington while you're at it.

if your stay is short and you just want to find cheaper accommodation close to the airport, honestly the aforementioned swampy wilderness that the entertainment centre is in is part of a national park (boondall wetlands environment centre) that's quite nice to walk around if you're into that kind of thing! it's a mangrove system which is a really fascinating ecosystem if you haven't seen them (though i think pr has plenty lol), lots of native birds and shit. the nearby suburbs of sandgate and shorncliffe are a great place for some classic fish and chips and to walk along/sit by the water (though don't get excited, they're not a 'real' aussie beach, it's a sheltered bay so the water is flat and the sand is brown).

depending how long you're staying and whether you'll have a car, there are lots of very beautiful "real" beaches surrounding brisbane an hour or two in either direction - the gold coast to the south is for the touristy ones (good if you like shopping/nightlife, more accessible by public transport), and the sunshine coast to the north is quieter and prettier. there's also lots of nice hiking trails around if you're into that but you would need a car.

Flying to Boston

I made it to Boston last night. Thought I would post something about my travel day. Growing up I never got to go anywhere. I grew up in rural Minnesota surrounded by corn and soybean fields. I always dreamed of getting on a plane and going someplace, anyplace. It's only been the last couple of years that I've been able to do this. I love the travel experience, I love airports, planes and flying. I know there are some people, people I've taken trips with even that hate those parts of traveling and just want to get to the final destination. I find the getting there the best part. More so than all the activities at the destination. I still love exploring the places I go and love learning about the destinations, but the getting there is the best part.

Yesterday was my birthday and so I decided to use some of my Delta Skymiles points to upgrade to First Class. I also went to the Skymiles lounge and had a very classy experience. I typically am the type of person to travel as cheaply as I can so I can travel more, but decided on the more luxurious trip this time. Using points that is. I'm not rich enough to actually travel like that. I typically stay in hostels and fly on budget airlines. Once in a while it's nice to spoil yourself.

On the flight to Boston I sat next to a woman who seemed very nervous. It was her first time traveling solo. She asked me if I've every traveled solo and when I answered that I had she asked me if I had any tips on solo travel. Of course my ADHD brain had a million things to say but I couldn't get many of them out. I do have tips about solo travel and could talk about it for hours, it's one of the few things that isn't a hyperfiction that I can be obsessed with. All I could answer with was to just not be afraid to go out and do stuff by yourself. Maybe buy tickets to an event so you have a hard time for someplace to be. We spoke quite a bit on the way to Boston. I did listen to some music on the plane and managed to write 5 pages in my travel journal.

So, my travel journal. I started it during my trip to Puerto Rico and have been updating it ever since. It's one of my favorite activities while traveling. I feel that it helps to put things into perspective. Not just about my travels but about life. I feel centered when I do it. I tried a general journal for a awhile, one that I added to every day but it didn't have the same effect. I guess I just need to be away from my normal life for writing to bring me some clarity.

Holy fuck I just had this huge realization.

Im done chasing people. Anyone. Friends, relationships. Done. And with that, I’m done drinking out of disappointment. I’m done concealing my feelings and hopes and dreams.

I want more for me. I want to travel, to love myself and to make genuine human connection with people I meet along the way. I’m not looking for anything specific. I just want friendship and company, people who add perspective to my life. I’m about to hustle so hard and take all of that money to travel. I’ve been broke, I’ve nearly been homeless, I know there’s nothing life can throw at me that I can’t handle. It always works out.

First I’m going to drive to the furthest tip of florida, sell my car down there and then hit Puerto Rico, (maybe work there for a bit so I don’t have to get a visa) then from there, either go west to Costa Rica and travel down until I hit Colombia or go south and hit Trinidad(most likely) then head to Brasil and surf my heart out. And I don’t think I’ll ever leave the coastline of Brasil once I get there :) if I know myself, I’ll fall in love.

Im gonna bust my ass to learn more Spanish and leave this bullshit behind.

I dreamt I was a red Saber travelling with Tendou Rushuna, the protagonist of Grenadier. It seems that in the world of this dream, it was quite possible to enter the netherworld. By traversing and returning, you could quickly travel great distances, or cross great bodies of water even without a boat. It was like a gradient. Easy to travel there, difficult to return. But even a sufficiently willful spirit could force their way through if they could retain their identity. The longer that you lingered, the more of yourself you forgot, and the dead had forgotten from the start.

For whatever reason, we had to travel there, so we entered. The sensation was like travelling along a zipline as we headed into death. There, we encountered the ghost of some sleazy merchant or such we had met prior, although I don't recall the details. He didn't recognise us, of course.

After concluding our business, we made to leave, but I had already forgotten my own name. Your name was the key. You could not possibly leave if you didn't know it. It was on the tip of my tongue! Porto? Rio? I remembered! Rico, Puerto Rico of all things. I escaped the netherworld with my name and returned to the overworld.

We arrived on a small island. From where we stood, we could see a number of other islands. It seems there were no boats, so we would have to use the nether to reach them. But I woke up before then.

Synopsis:

The landslide victory of Alpha-Earth dispatching the Blackmailer and taking control of all radiant on the planet has garnered the hatred of Omega-Earth and its Legion.

A generation pass by and the 2nd came anew. The first and next generation agents kept the peace... but not until Omega-Earth invaded for a rematch. This time, they weren't challenging the strong protocol head on, but striking where they were weak and inexperienced; their past selves.

The Legion invested all their resources into project: Timestamp. A venture to rewrite their greatest defeat, into a landslide victory.

Now it's up to the 2nd to prevent the attacks against their predecessors. Lost in time, with the world in balance– can they do it? Or will they falter and perish, along with their reality?

The blue swirl of the portal halt and merge with bright light. the tunnel through space and time spat a 2nd agent in an abandoned basketball court hidden by the streets of Puerto Rico in 2040.

"¿Qué diablos fue eso?" ( What the fuck was that?) an elderly man gasped, falling off his lawn chair.

A fairly-tall man dressed in black slowly rose from the dirty court. he was black overall-- cargo pants, a baggy tech ware-jacket, and a bucket hat. he regained his balance before doubling over in pain and nausea.

"Fuck... the nausea is killing me..." he groaned, trying not to lose his lunch.

the elderly man got up with his cane and carefully made his way to the mysterious traveler. "¿Qué vas a? ( What are you?)" the man asked in a nervous voice.

the man look at the man with a confused gaze. "Soy humano. ¿que año es? ( Im human. What year is it?)" the boy mustered through fits of coughs.

the elderly man just tilted his head. "2040. por que? ( 2040, why?)"

the boy in black gave a soft smile. " it worked...."

thud!

the elderly man just watched as the boy collapsed by his feet. "Santa Maria..."

Cypher made his rounds through his servers, diligently scanning for energy surges- the same surges that signify Omega earth crossing over to their earth. though he wasn't expecting much, its been a month since an attack from the mirror earth. "What a great day..." the Arabian whistled as he sipped on tea. he set the tea down to stretch his legs.

beep! beep! Beep!

his wall of monitors flashes red. the man rushed to his keyboard. "this energy surge is off the charts..." he gasped, taking a tablet and rushing out of his office, making a beeline for Brimstone's office. his tea sat lonely on his desk alone, turning lukewarm.

the robed man rushed through the protocol with due haste, he rushed through the door to see brimstone surprised to see him. "Cypher, you're in a hurry." the old man reacted.

cypher rushed to his side and set the tablet in view. the screen displayed a graph with a significantly steep spike. it disappeared as abruptly as it appeared. Cypher pulled up the location. "The energy surge was in Puerto Rico."

Brimstone picked up the tablet and frowned. the energy readings are 5x stronger than usual. this is serious. very serious. "Cypher, I need you to scour the entirety of Puerto Rico. the mirror agents might be back."

cypher nodded, tipping his hat before sprinting back to his office. "Right away sir."

beep! beep! beep!

what is that? the beeping of an alarm clock?

"Oh, muchacho estas dispiertos! ( Oh Young man, you're awake)" the elderly man greeted over the headboard. the time traveler opens his eyes to see the elderly man smiling widely, clearly missing his frontal teeth. "Soy Robert" he pointed to himself.

"Mi...Nombre es Plata ( My name is silver)" silver replied, getting up to see his body bandaged up. he's topless and his jacket is on the sewing machine clearly being mended by an elderly lady, Roberto's wife.

Silver gave a soft smile, greatly appreciating the deed. "Muchas Gracias, como puedo pagarte (Thank you so much, how could I repay you?)

Silver was touched by their generosity and secretly placed a good amount of money underneath the bed as he got up from it. they won't accept the payment now, but maybe in the future.

Brimstone gathered five agents for the mission. The energy surge was a week ago but Cypher picked up underworld chatter that a the local gang was just blotted out by one man. Yes. One man.

Brimstone was leading the operation, his team members were Viper, Chamber, Cypher and KAY/O.

Cypher had been diligently watching the sole radiant standing in front of two graves by the sea. "The man in question is standing in front of a grave."

The plane was descending down a kilometer off the site on an abandoned building.

They were armed with bulldogs, effective for long range. Chamber positioned himself atop a bulding down the street, with the man in question directly in his line of fire. "In position."

Viper and KAY/O prowl behind the vans by the road, just behind the target. "In position."

Cypher was is watching from an empty coffee shop and a cup of tea. "in position."

Brimstone slowly approach the man in black. He turned around, his bucket Hat blocking half his upper face from view. He frowned.

"Ah fuck." He said, dropping the flower had in his hand. He nonchalantky placed them in his pocket. "How can I help you?"

Brimstone raised his ghost pistol and aimed. "You seem familiar with me, Who are you?"

His lips purse together to form a small smirk as he pulled a smoke grenade from his pocket. "If I told you, you'd lock me up for interrogation... So no thanks."

Clink!

The pin of the grenade gets pulled and it drops. the grenade exploded into a perfect sphere of pitch black smoke.

Brimstone fired a few shot into the smoke. KAY/O threw in a zero/point into the smoke and it pulsate. "Target isn't a radiant." He beeped in, his dagger nullify no abilities. "He's also not in the smoke."

The smoke fades revealing nothing bu the grenade pin looped around the stem of a flower.

Brimstone looks around as he meets up with Viper and Kay/O. "Lost sight of him. Damn."

Viper looks at the place where the suspect once stood. She noticed a drop of blood. "Not exactly." She smirked throgu her mask, taking a pen and scooping up a sample. "We got a DNA sample."

"Brimstone! I spotted the suspect running across rooftops!" Cypher Called dinto the comms.

"On it!" Chamber replied.

Silver vaults over a ledge, landing on top of a sheet metal roof, making a loud racket. "Shit! A bullet grazed me just as I teleported! Shit!"

Pew! pew! pew!

Bullets fly overhead, making Silver duck behind a water tower. "Bulldog burst fire... Great."

"I have you pinned! It would be wise for you to surrender!" a French accent yelled after firing two more burst.

Silver frowned.

"I have visual on the suspect." Chamber called in.

The Frenchman ads'ed on the suspects postion to see a raised hand. "He's surrendering. He followed my advice. Approaching him now."

"Don't let your guard down." Cypher replied, viewing it unfold from the cafe with Viper, Brimstone and KAY/O beside him.

Silver walked out with both hands behind his head. "Monsieur, I surrender. Don't shoot!"

Chamber approach dhim but stopped at a reasonable distance. He tossed a pair of handcuff by his feet. "Who do you go by?"

"Silver. You?"

"Chamber."

Silver nodded. "Love the white and gold, bring out your French appearance. Classy." He said, making an okay symbol.

Chamber scoffed. "If you think making a play with my ego is going to make me let you go, you are sorely mistaken. Put the cuffs on."

Silver laughed, shrugging. "Was worth a shot, anyways, since I'm in cuffs, take my buisness card."

Silver haphazardly tossed a black buisness card. "What would I?" Chamber huffed. It lande dby Chamber's feet.

Silver just laughed. "worth a shot. entrepreneur habits."

Chamber laughed as he rested his gun. The suspect was in cuffs what was the risk?

Chamber walks over the card and reached over the card. Silver smirked. "You shouldve taken the card."

Snap!

Silver vanished from Chamber's point of view.

"Vincent behind you!" Viper yelled through the mic.

Chamber threw a blind elbow behind him only for a kick to land behind his knee. "Gukh–" he groaned, dropping down and dropping the Bulldog away accidentally.

Silver dashes for the fallen Bulldog only for it to get shot by Chamber's headhunter. He immediately sidestepped, summoning his own gun.

He turned around and fired at Vincent, who just hid behind a wall.

"Brimstone! Did you see that? He can teleport!" Vincent reported.

"Aye. Stay sharp!"

A cloud of smoke erupted in front of Vincent's position.

Vincent waited for an attack, but it never came. The smoke dispated disappearing into nothing, leaving no trace that the the fight ever happened. Even the card was gone.

"What was that?" He asked in a limp, still pointing his headhunter around corners.

"I'm not sure..." Brimstone replied.
