surely you jest. ngl i personally wouldnt eat the bug food because of personal preference and probably because i need to be more open minded about it, but also because i cannot fathom the thought of eating a spider or fly.

So I just wanted to share a small update about my life since quitting my public accounting job.

Ya'll...my life is so much better now. I could actually cry (edit: I did cry writing this hahaaaa)

My new job has been a lot of learning and I do feel overwhelmed at some points. But my boss (the CFO) is so kind and understanding of me and is truly the mentor of I've been in need of for so long. The finance team overall has been so kind and supportive and I finally feel like I'm in the right place for my skill set.

Since quitting my job, I've also started eating so much better and exercising as well. I used to eat out almost every day and sometimes even twice a day because I just didn't have time to make anything. Now, I eat out once a week - usually making healthy home cooked meals. I'm saving money and my stomach is so much happier. I also workout three times a week consistently and can feel myself getting stronger.

I've also been so much more consistent with my Patreon and just editing for my comic overall. I used to have to take whole months off, just to get through busy season. Right now, it's busy season timing, and I'm about to edit a new issue.

I went to my alma maters basketball game a few days ago with a friend. I'm seeing my family today for movie night.

I am just so fucking happy. And I didn't think I was ever going to be happy and content again.

I just thought I'd share this because there were so many years where I really had nothing good to share. When I was so down.

And I just wanted you all to know I'm doing so much better. 💙

Yes, anon! Both Might Gai and Rock Lee were based on Bruce Lee, who was definitely an icon for more than just his martial arts.

That’s about as close to the definition of a late 60s/70s heartthrob as you can get!

Also, Bruce Lee was reportedly beloved for his sense of humor and his approachability. Many of his acquaintances also remarked how they were often awestruck by the insight that came from the young man--a wisdom that surpassed his years.

Additionally, he was described as a teacher to be strict, but insightful and forgiving.

Fun Fact: Jeet Kun Do was a martial arts style conceived entirely by Bruce Lee based on his experience. The style reportedly can be taught but not ‘standardized’ (as other styles) because each individual has different needs.

A friendly attitude with acute wisdom, strict but firm teachings, and a personal style that meets his students where they are? Well, that sounds just like...

For an insightful interview of one of Bruce Lee’s disciples (Dan Inosanto) that goes more in depth about Bruce Lee’s martial arts and character, I recommend this video. It’s aged, but incredibly genuine. It really does reveal more about Might Gai (and Lee!)

Hi.

Just hope you know I still have an undying love for this comic and think about it pretty much every day. I've SUCCESSFULLY transferred around 40 issues and have reviewed/know what to fix for around another 115 and then have around 100 issues I still need to upload/review.

Moving the issues has been a lot of work. A lot of trial and error. Sometimes I have wondered if there is even a point to it and have contemplated, even with my love for the comic, if I should let it end here with all the other stuff (some good and some very bad) going on in my life.

But I really love this comic. It's something that actually makes me truly happy. And I know some day it will be over. But I don't want it to end like this.

So thanks for your patience and know I'm still chugging away because this shit really still matters to me. 💙

Finally got a little time and I've removed all mentions/links for Tapas on the main page. I will be making some other updates to the extra page and about page since those are pretty outdated too.

As mentioned before, I'm currently hard at work transferring the issues to AO3. IT'S NOT FUN. But I'm making progress. 💙

WTWA RETURNS!

Well, it's been a lovely exactly 5 month hiatus.

BUT WE'RE BACK.

Tomorrow, August 29th, WTWA will return with an update of Issue #254.

I'm really excited not only for this issue (that should pack quite the punch) but also the next 10 to 20 issues. A lot of angst, drama, and romance to be had.

In addition, in the next month or so, there will be a nice surprise for you all separate from the issues. I've been working on it for awhile and just need a few more weeks to wrap it up.

I really do appreciate the patience and support I've received in the last several months. It's been really nice to have time to explore other hobbies.

But I've missed the comic and you all so much and I am so, so, so glad to be back!

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to drop in to say that I'm still working away at transferring the issues to AO3. It has been quite the endeavor but I have made a LOT of progress. I'd love to give an estimate of when I think it might be done but I'm going to just remain conservative and say as soon as possible.

Transferring the issues has unfortunately taken away any time I would spend editing new issues. But I know, for me, the most important thing is getting the 40+ issues that were only on Tapas back up on a new site.

In the meantime, please feel free to send messages (including character asks - I miss those SO much) and I'll try to be a little more consistent with these updates. 💙

Hi all,

I know when I made this post (click here), several of you mentioned wanting to provide help in the transfer process or any other forms of support.

I'm happy to say I've been able to make a lot of progress with the transfer during my time off this month. I'm now down to 60 issues left (!).

In this process, I have been able to think of two areas where assistance would be appreciated

1. Patreon Support: In transitioning the comic to A03, I needed to open a Dropbox Premium account to host all of the photos/panels now on that site. I initially tried to just use the free version to host the links but I have way too many files for that type of account. I tried to also not use links to begin with but the images were not positioned correctly with this option. If you'd like to help with supporting the monthly payments to utilize this premium account, I do have a Patreon - LINK HERE. I'm planning to utilize these funds to pay for that bill as well as some other rewards down the line. For some background, I've just restarted my Patreon from extended break and am planning a lot of new content where feedback is appreciated. If you'd like to be apart of that as well as loads of behind of scenes posts, mini comics, and more, please feel free to join. I don't have any tiers at this point in time. You can join for as little as a $1 month and get all the content.

2. Transfer Review Assistance: Secondly, if you prefer not to give monetary support, I think I will need help with some more random tasks when I'm wrapping up the transfer to AO3. This will probably involve ensuring all the issues are showing up correctly on both laptop and mobile view, helping with some descriptions, etc. If you'd be interested in helping in this process, just let me know!
