Role Swap AU Part 7

After his sister Fuyumi’s disappearance Todoroki Touya became the main caretaker for his little brothers. (Sometimes he can’t think of anything but how his baby sister should be here instead of him.)

He works as a mechanic part time. Mostly so he doesn’t go stir crazy in the empty house he used to call “home” when he was younger and far more naive. Fixing things is a passion of his. There is a thrill to it, a sense of purpose he quite likes.

He tries his best to be a good older brother. He picks Shouto up from school on his motorcycle, calls Natsuo every day for an update on college life, nursed teddybears back to health when they were younger, cooks and cleans and patches Shouto up after training and tells jokes and stories and tries his best to keep the memory of their mother and Yumi alive. He encourages Shouto having fun, dares Natsuo to be brave. Swallows his anger at their father to be there for his baby brothers. It will never be enough.

Todoroki Touya is a good brother, a good son. (A desperate, drowning man with nowhere to go but forward.) 

Touya visits his mother once a week. He always brings flowers and pictures of his brothers doing silly things. Sometimes, on bad days, she doesn’t recognize him. Mistakes him for her own older brother. 

He barely finished high school, never went to college. For the four first years after their mother was sent to the hospital (after Shouto got his scar) he stays at home and keeps everything in order. Someone has to. Someone has to.

Both his brothers write him mother’s day and father’s day cards. 

On his left middle finger he has a tatoo of a snowflake, to symbolize both his mother and his sister. On the back of his neck he has Natsuo’s favorite flower. He is thinking of getting  the contour of a small flame inked on his right middle finger soon as well.

M: Touya. Yes, he kinda terrifies me.

Kami: He goes up to Sero and says "If you plan to marry the baby of the family, you gotta ask me for his hand first!" Then he starts threatening him about all the ways he'll kill him if he hurts 'his sweet little Shoto ototo".

M: (pouting) Todoroki didn't tell me they were dating!

Kami: They weren't.

M: Huh? But-

Kami: That's why it gets better! When they tried to explain, they worked out they've been crushing on each other. Long story short, they're now together but Takami Touya has been banned from attending future matches by Aizawa. Though they're not the only new couple I'm guessing.

M: Yeah.

Kami: C'mon, let's get you back to your boyfriend!

LOWKEY... insert Fuyumi in there and Diary of a Wimpy kid is basically the Todoroki family...

Touya is obviously the punk older brother who does mild-to-bad things, Fuyumi is the only responsible female character, Natsuo is the very average and boring one with emotional issues, and Shoto is the annoying and gross youngest... like why does this actually make sense???

Also you're right because Rodrick was so hot in the movies........... and that was very Touya of him. Please come over, king.

BNHA Ship to Finish the Year

FuyuSei (Todoroki Fuyumi x Iida Tensei)

Canon

I think that they would either meet by Shouto and Tenya or at the hospital.

If it was at the hospital, it would be a chance meeting. Fuyumi is visiting her mom, and Tensei is going to physical therapy. They meet in the lobby and start talking.

Present Mic and Nemuri are the ones who encourage him to ask her out. -PS: None of them knows she is the daughter of Enji yet.- After he does and they date for a few weeks, he shows them a picture, and the two almost have a heart attack. They don't know how to tell him, until Shouta comes along and says it.

If they meet by Shouto and Tenya, it probably would be at a Sport Festival or Cultural Festival. They would start talking, and Nemuri would ask Fuyumi out for him. She says yes, and they exchange numbers.

Imagine if Natsuo is there: "I got the snacks. What's that?" "Oh, a phone number. I have a date this Saturday," "I- I left for five minutes!"

I feel like he would stop by her school every time he can and her students know him as wheelchair boyfriend.

And speaking of wheelchairs, Tensei sometimes feels like he is not enough for Fuyumi. He can't take her dancing or ice-skating.

Fuyumi doesn't care about it. He loves Tensei for who he is, and that is enough for her.

On her birthday, he takes her to see the Winter Illumination events, and even takes her to see ice-sculptors at a festival.

He likes to carry her on his lap and then accelerate with his quirk. He especially does it when the sakura trees are blooming, so it's more romantic. 

Also, she sits on his lap when it's hot, since she is always cold.

I don't want to break anybody's bubble but these two one hell of an age gap.

Like Tensei is 31 and Fuyumi is 23.

He is eight years older than her. That's more than Shigaraki and Toga have on each other.

Am I the first one to notice this?

I feel like it should be a big deal. Like when Tensei was eighteen, Fuyumi was ten. 

I feel like his parents would make fun of him for that. Calling him a creepy old man.

I also feel, since Tensei appeared in vigilantes, that he has a lot of vigilante friends, and one time, they all meet Fuyumi.

I feel like they would like her more than her boyfriend.

Also, he likes her cooking much more than anything else he has ever eaten before. But don't tell his mom.

Family

There is only one rule that all Todoroki men share and respect: Fuyumi needs to be protected. They don't give a crap if the guy is a retired hero, or the brother of a friend, or in a wheelchair, they won't let him hurt Fuyumi.

The first months of dating, Tensei doesn't feel safe. Like someone is staring at his back with murderous intent. He can't pin-point which Todoroki is, but his money is on Endeavour.

Actually it's all of them. They take turns keeping watch. One time, they all ended doing it at the same time. It was awkward at first, but they found a way to make it work and not kill each other.

Every single Todoroki has threatened him.

Dabi, with the help of Toga, cornered him in an alley and placed him on the floor and stepped on him.

"If you hurt sister, I'm going to finish what Stain couldn't do..."

Natsuo did it during a family dinner. He smiled and at first appeared very polite, but when Fuyumi wasn't there, the smile was gone.

"I am a doctor, you think I don't know how to get rid of you and make it look like it happened naturally?"

Enji went to meet him at his apartment. He knocked on the door asked him a few question. Tensei went along, answering everything politely, and then got the message by the last question.

"How much heat will it take for that wheelchair to melt with you in it?"

Shouto was more surprising. He called Tensei with his brother's phone and only said one thing before he hung up.

"I don't care if you are Tenya's brother's, if you don't make my sister happy, I will end you," 

I feel like Rei wouldn't be okay with the idea until she sees that Tensei is defensless in a wheelchair. 

I know it's a bad thought, and Rei knows so, but after everything she went through, you can't blame the woman for it. Her daughter is with a HERO. At least, if he is in a wheelchair, she can do better to survive.

Tenya loves his new sister. He hasn't seen his brother so happy since the accident, and he always wanted a sister. 

The Iida's love her.

She is an angel in their eyes. Their son is in such good hands.

I feel like they would have two kids. First a girl Iida Fubuki, a girl, and then Iida Kaen, a boy.

Fubuki has blue hair with white highlights. Her name means blizzard in Japanese and her quirk is that she has engine pipes on her wrist that shoot dry ice.

Kaen has blue hair with red highlights. His name means Flame Thrower in Japanese and his quirk is that he has engine pipes on his ankles that shoot flames.

Neither of them become heroes. I feel like both families give them enough reasons not to follow that career.

Fubuki becomes an ice skater, using her quirk for presentations and speed.

Kaen becomes a musician. A hard, metal punk rocker and uses his quirk for shows. He was closer to Dabi than his sister. 

AU - Fantasy AU 

So, Fuyumi is a princess. Because, of course, she is. 

Tensei is a knight, and he comes from a long line of knights.

One day, her life is threatened by a new rogue called Stain, who is killing off noble families and royals.

Tensei is tasked with protecting the princess at all cost. But it's a harder task than he originally thought.

His job was to stick by the princess side as much as he could, but on his second day, he lost her. 

He found her later on a hut on the countryside, teaching young girls how to read and write and other basic knowledge. She wears a disguise, so others don't recognize her. With a tattered dress and a spell to make her hair black, she is unrecognizable.

Tensei doesn't stop her from doing it when he finds out and instead helps her sneak out and helps with the angry sexist man that come around.

It all goes well until Stain attacks.

He ambushes them on the road, and the only reason that they survive is that Fuyu shows Stain she is not like other royals.

As Tensei was trying to protect her and getting in the way, the rogue was going to kill him. But before he can, Fuyumi gets in the way, pleading that he lets Tensei live.

Stain leaves and Tensei and Fuyumi are alright.

When they return to the castle though, Tensei is looked down with dishonour by the rest of the court. He is fired from his job as a knight with the princess, but Fuyumi then hires him back again. 

The two continue to spend time together, and all seems happy. But then, Fuyumi is betrothed.

Tensei tries to handle it with dignity since he is only a knight and knew in the back of his mind, that Fuyumi would get married one day. But he is a jealous mess when the fiance arrives.

He follows them around, stops them whenever they get too close and intervenes whenever the man makes a move on her.

Fuyumi, though grateful, has to ask him to stop. Because even if she would prefer it was him, she is marrying, if he angers her fiance, they are going to behead him.

They don't have to worry about it though, because, before the wedding, the lost prince Touya returns and takes the throne. 

However, even if Dabi, now the new king, breaks her marriage off with her betrothed, Fuyumi doesn't like how much he is ruling.

The two get in a fight, and Dabi tells her that if she doesn't like it, then she can leave. He won't stop her.

The next day, Fuyumi starts packing. She tells Tensei that he can stay if he wants, he doesn't have to follow her.

Tensei confesses his feelings for her and then starts packing. 

They leave a week after and they settle on a farming land where Fuyumi opens a school for girls and Tensei hunts and collects stuff to sell.

Fanon Oponion

So, again, I can't see these two having sex.

I just can't.

I don't know why. And AO3 seems to agree with me since I found 3 where they have sex, and it's not just mentioned. 

One was a Fuyubowl, the other was a crackfic, and the last one traumatized me.

For the most part, they are a background couple.

And not in the way Hagakure and Ojiro are a couple where you might find more than 10 fics about them, but as 'we don't want Fuyumi to be alone, so in this fic she is with Tensei.'

I feel like they are underappreciated, especially Fuyumi.

Girl is still holding on after the shitty situation she is in. She is the only sane Todoroki in here. 

And poor Tensei. He didn't deserve what happened to him. Stain didn't have a very clear objective.

There's also the fact that not much is known about them.

Like Tensei has not been mentioned since the stain arc.

They are just there...

But people love making next-gen kids with them.

The 4400 AU

In short: Time Travel Shenanigans AU where Katsuki Bakugou is a first generation Japanese American immigrant who was born in 1936 and got sent to the future in 1952. Eijirou Kirishima is a gay american punk from new york living through the AIDs epidemic, born in 1970 and sent to the future in 1986. More information below the cut!

Do you know The 4400? Its a show where, over the last 50 years, there have been 4,400 specific disappearances. In the modern day, a ball of light is on a collision course with earth. Before it crashes it slows down, then in a bright flash it deposits all 4,400 of those people. Not one of them has aged a day since their initial disappearance. By all accounts, they were just at the spot and time of their disappearance mere moments ago, even though many occurred decades previously. They’re held for 6 weeks by the government before its determined that they and their families have the right for them to be freed, on the condition that they return for weekly check-ins. Interestingly, after their reappearance, the 4400 begin to display supernatural abilities.... 

My friend @albino-pony suggested this au! Its one I’ve gotten really into even though I’ve only ever seen the first episode of the show. I’m not entirely sure how to format this so its interesting, but I figure that if you clicked on the readmore and you’re still reading, then you’re ok with some info dumps. So here’s these boys individual timelines. TW For era typical homophobia and racism. 

Katsuki

          Mitsuki was born in 1914 in Japan’s Aomori prefecture. She was born with albinism, giving her blonde hair and blue eyes. In 1928 Mitsuki immigrated with her family to the United States at age 14, where they were processed at Angel Island, and moved into San Francisco shortly thereafter. She, her parents, and older brother all got jobs as soon as they could. In 1932, amidst the Great Depression, she met Masaru Bakugou and married him in the spring of 1934.

In 1936 Masaru and Mitsuki had their first child, a boy who inherited her albinism, and named him Katsuki. They do their best to provide for him, but it's the Great Depression and they're immigrants who only speak English so well. They scrape by, providing for their boy as best they can. They normally leave their son in the care of an Inko Midoriya, a fellow Japanese immigrant who is being supported by her fairly successful husband. 

 Then in 1939, things are stabilizing again. Life is getting easier. They still work themselves to the bone but they don't go to bed starving so their growing son can have his best chance. In 1940 life is pretty good. Katsuki's four years old. Mitsuki has a job as a seamstress, and Masaru has an office job. Life is looking up. 

December 7th of 1941, Pearl Harbor is bombed. Americans die. Masaru and Mitsuki are scared about the possibilities of war and what it could mean for their little one. But they decide to do their part and work as hard as they can for their new home, because they're Americans, and they love this country and the hope it holds for their son. 

February 1942, the Bakugous are detained and put in a Japanese Internment camp in southern California, where they spend the next three years. Katsuki is five years old when they’re forced out of their home, and he remembers the train ride. He remembers his father holding him as they walked. He remembers the cold. He remembers the three coldest winters he ever felt, and he remembers the burning blazing heat of the three hottest summers he ever endured. He remembers the scorching desert of Manzanar. He remembers the stuffy air of the tight quarters. He remembers. 

September 1945, The Bakugous finally leave Manzanar. They’re among the last to go. They go home to San Francisco and try to move on. Katsuki is nine years old. His parents are disturbed at how bad anti-japanese sentiment has gotten in the time they were at Manzanar.  Mitsuki finds an old magazine in a waiting room with an article on how to tell Japanese people from Chinese. Masaru is spat on and called various racial slurs. They're terrified for their son, and do their best to shield him from it. When Inko Midoriya’s husband is killed only a few blocks away because he was Japanese and his murderer talked about how his brother was killed in action by them, Mitsuki doesn't let her son play outside anymore.

December 1945, Mitsuki realizes she’s pregnant again.

September 19th, 1946, Tsubaki Bakugou is born.

February 27th, 1947, Tsubaki Bakugou dies of whooping cough at four months old, her family lacking access to the vaccine. Katsuki is eleven years old, and is the one to find her body after his mother asked him to check on her. 

June 1947, Mitsuki pays closer attention to her remaining child, terrified of losing him too. She gets worried. Mitsuki starts to notice how fond he is of his friends, and how little he seems to care about girls.

1948,  She starts to worry about the way he looks at other boys and the movie stars of his favorite pictures. She asks him one night if he likes boys better than girls, and when he says yes she cries and tells him that he has to learn to like girls, and that liking boys is bad and he can't do it anymore.  She doesn't let him go to the cinema anymore, and doesn't let him go out at all with his friends unless Izuku is there with him, because she knows Izuku will tell his mom if anything weird happens, and that Inko will tell her. She doesn't tell Masaru.

1949, When Katsuki is 13, Mitsuki and Inko talk, and they end up sending both of their sons to military school. Inko hopes it will help her son to stand up for himself, and Mitsuki hopes it will teach Katsuki discipline and order. It helps Izuku. It tames Katsuki's attitude toward adults, but his treatment of the other kids only gets worse. The only thing he learns there is how to pretend.

1952,  Katsuki is 16, he's visiting home. He fights with his mother. They call each other all manner of horrible things. He tells her he never wants to see her again. She tells him thats fine, and to go. Katsuki goes for a walk to clear his head.

He never comes home.

Eijirou

Eijirou is born on October 16th, 1970 in upstate new york. His timeline is shorter than Katsuki’s because I dont know as much about 70s/80s culture in new york that would have affected a young japanese american man, so theres only a few really important events in his life that I know for sure of.

July 28, 1982 - Eijirou is 11 years old and sees Queen live on their Hot Space Tour in NYC, and it blows his fucking mind. It instills in him a love of music, and whenever he needs to psych himself up for something he listens to those songs and remembers that energy. 

1984 - He comes out as gay to his parents and is kicked out. He takes a bus to the city and ends up being embraced and taken care of by some members of the punk scene and NYC gay communities. 

1985 - The man who took care of Eijirou, Taishiro Toyomitsu, better known by his stage name Fatgum, dies of HIV related complications. 

1986 - On his way back to the shitty apartment he shares with his bandmates from a concert they were a part of, Eijirou stops to pee in an alley way or something, and disappears in a flash of light. 

When the 4400 appear back on earth in the modern day, many experience small physical changes. For example, Eijirou and Katsuki have red eyes, and Izuku’s hair is slightly green. Todoroki’s hair is half white, and half red.

Character name: Touya Todoroki / Dabi (Doobi)

Why do you want to play them?: I feel as though there’s much more to his story than has been explored. I’d like to see how he adapts to life outside the league and what reconnecting with society does for him.

What is their quirk?: Cremation

What powers and limitations do they have: Touya has the ability to generate destructive flames (even more destructive than Endeavors) from his body. Over time, he’s developed his quirk so that he can control the projection and amount of fire he produces. He has to be careful though, if his flames go over a certain temperature he can damage himself, resulting in deep scarring.

Describe the character’s personality: Touya’s personality is more relaxed now than it had been in previous years (thanks therapy). Now that he’s medicated and in the process of rehabilitating, Touya is the standard older brother that blares punk rock, writes poetry, and smokes cigarettes. Oftentimes you can find him hiding throughout campus jotting down his thoughts into a worn out leather bound journal. If you ask him what he’s writing, he’ll tell you “my new book titled Daddy Issues”.

As far as friends, Touya keeps most people at arms length until he’s sure he can trust you (THANKS HAWKS). This doesn’t mean he’s an asshole to strangers though! He’s friendly, in his own way, and will respond if someone initiates conversation.

Touya is heavily dedicated to his rehabilitation and regaining his siblings' trust and love back. After three years of intense therapy, Touya doesn’t resent Enji or Rei anymore for the part they played in his mental break. Sure he wishes that things had been different, but he’s learning to accept the past and *not* let it define his future.

- As I’ve said before, I’d like to see how he adapts to life outside the league and what reconnecting with his siblings is like.

- I’d also like to see how reconnecting with his parents would go. Though he has forgiven them both, there’s still a lot that he won’t forget. ~~IM LOOKING AT YOU ENJI~~

- Working through the rehab program and really digging into *why* he thought turning to a life of crime was the move.

Try and reconcile with Hawks? If not, at least get to a stage where they’re amicable

I didn’t believe in rehab until I got locked up. Truth be told, a lot of us shouldn’t have this opportunity.. We’re murderers. Convicts who, for years, terrorized heroes and civilians for a false prophet. All I know is that that I’ve put in the time and effort to repent for my sins and I’m busting my ass everyday to be a better person than I was before. If there are other rehab patients doing the same, then I think they deserve a shot in the program.

1). “A friend is going through a difficult time, how do you comfort them?“ Editor's Note: I know Dabi has enhanced stamina despite him being a smoker. Just dream with me here.

Touya had been jotting down today’s thoughts and lessons in his journal when `Y/N` went whizzing by in tears. In all honesty, he wouldn’t have been able to tell who it was had her high pitched sobs not stolen his attention. He calmly places his pen inside of his journal and exhaled deeply.

Guess I’m not writing today…

“Oi,” he calls out, jogging to catch up with her. God. It’d been a while since he had to do anything at *this* pace. The woman slows down and waits for Touya to approach her. When he does he’s mildly out of breath, hands on his knees.

“Don’t. Make. Me. Jog.. Again.. Please.. I… Smoke… Will.. Keel over..” He says through his heaving. “What… Is wrong? Why…. Crying?”

As ’Y/N’ explains what happened, the other is processing her words. The woman explains that her asshole of a boyfriend dumped her via text. A breakup? That’s tough. Touya didn’t know what that was like… He’d never been in a serious relationship with anyone for this exact reason.. Emotions.. Well.. That and the whole blindly following someone who wanted him to murder innocent people to further their own agenda. ANYWAYS! After about 10 minutes of explaining, ‘Y/N’ asks for his opinion.

A clearly unqualified Touya, runs a hand through his spiky hair and rests it on his neck. “Tch.. Sounds like a case of That-Guy’s-A-Dick-itus. Think of it this way though, you’re no longer stuck spending time with someone you’re going to hate in a year.” At least that’s how he felt. Though, to be fair, he hadn’t been around the most healthy or stable relationships. ‘Y/N’ smiles, and wipes a few tears away from her eyes.

The arm sitting behind his neck, finds itself wrapped around his friend's shoulder. “You know what doesn’t disappoint? Ice Cream. It’s delicious every time. Let’s go to the caf and grab some. You can rant some more about the jackass.”

‘Y/N’ chuckles, and agrees to go with her friend. The pain wasn’t gone, but it had subsided a bit with the help of her friend.

2). “You just received a thoughtful gift from a close friend. What is it and how do you react?”

Christmas. The one holiday that, deep down, Touya couldn’t stand. Everyone rushing to grab gifts.. Having to pre-order your chicken for the week.. And don’t even get him started on how the holiday has been commercialized to the point it has lost most of its meaning. But what made it worth it to him was to see the smiles on his friends' faces.

As per usual with the present open ceremony, Touya opted to go last. Not for the attention… But because he was hoping that by the time his turn came, he could sneak out of there. Much to his displeasure, this didn’t happen. All eyes were on him as each friend handed him a gift to open. They were all great! Money, clothes, candy cigarettes (to replace his real ones). The final gift was one that took him by surprise.

“The… journal…” A leather bound, quirk proof, 400 page journal. Turquoise eyes look across to his friend who’d given him the gift. One thing that Touya was always running out of was journals. He’d kept one on him since he left home.. He needed someone to talk to.. Someone that wouldn’t judge him for his sins. Due to his personal financial situation, he’d been unable to invest in the high quality journal he’d been eying for almost a year.

He recalls telling his friend, “I could finally stop using those shitty ones that campus gives out. And this one won’t get all burnt when I’m pissed because it’s quirk proof.”

Not many people knew how special this journal would be… But this friend did… His friend listened… Touya struggles to hold back tears, but manages to muster out a very heartfelt “Thank you…”.
