dr who is (apparently) redesigning this turtle from the classic series to be just a green human elf lady instead and twitter is eating it up because "no one would take the show seriously otherwise" and "the audience isn't able to empathize with something that doesn't look human". another fascinating data point in the psychology of doctor who fans.

i never know how to phrase it but something about the way beatles biographers and people in general view paul's reflexive placating persona and determination to smooth things over as manipulative or duplicitous and john's reflexive barbed persona and habit of lashing out as brave and subversive despite both being equally defensive mechanisms to shield themselves from the world that resulted in them saying things that weren't true says more about how we culturally view kindness or friendliness as inherently untrustworthy or flimsy and anger and carelessness as more believable as someone's true nature than it says about either of them in actuality

i do think a muppet version of a greek tragedy would get at something deep and essential about the way a character is created and understood on the ancient stage as a construct of costume rendered voiced by a concealed body, something that is perhaps impossible to capture within modern unmasked theatrical traditions

This is genuinely how I feel every time I see Ruin cornered. In ANY scenario.

I do want to make a p3 with Montgomery’s POV…it just took me a few days to complete this one, so it may be a while. But, it is important to note that there is intentional blindness here. This is only Ruin’s PERSPECTIVE of the last 40 years. This isn’t the actual layout of the story, it’s only what he’s seen and gone through. For an example in blindness - the real Montgomery isn’t…angry at Ruin…although Ruin isn’t “arguing with the virus”, he’s not arguing with Monty either. Ruin is arguing with his old thoughts carried over by time and infection.

There’s a lot of detail in this one. Have fun dissecting!

The glitches represent far more than one thing. The list goes as following:

Trauma, Ruin Virus (contained but spilling), The Creator’s influence, and years of propaganda/brainwashing.

I’m off to play Dandy’s World now, as if I didn’t just unfold years of my Ruin lore. This is all based on fanon-based lore with assistance from show implications!!! I have Ruin’s entire backstory just SIMMERING in my head.
