I know I'm stealing this critique from the hazbin hotel puppycast videos but why exactly don't HH and HB have proper opening/intros to their episodes?

Like let's pretend that the "totally bogus rumors" of overworking and underpaying at spindlehorse aren't real or anything, I don't see why Viv didn't consider putting an opening to her shows despite her background in making animated music videos.

Take helluva boss for example. The I.M.P. jingle would have been the perfect opening to the start of each episode or a bit after the beginning. It's a catchy tune that gets the idea of the show across. They could have even done something similar to The Simpsons couch gag where the cuts between the middle and the end of the song on have different scenes in them instead of just copying the same scenes again.

Then in the case of Hazbin hotel we actually do get some form of an intro but it's very basic with Keekee just transforming into the logo of the show.

It just feels like a small blank checkmark a person like Viv would try to go big and Beyond with. That's why wanted to ask you about it because I've been enjoying reading your critique's for a while and I've enjoyed your analysis on the Hella version and Viv as a whole.

Personally, I think it's because of the cast. For actors like Keith David, Kamiko Glenn, and Alex Brightman who have relatively small roles throughout the series, they didn't need their own name cards in the credits. In fact, I would have had all three of them share a name card with their characters illustrated beneath them in Medrano's original art style. Her Pre-pilot art style specifically. It would have made this project feel more triumphant like "look how far we've come".

Basically, I think that the reason the show axed an opening theme song was in favor of having a longer credit roll to showcase her cast. Condensing the credits and speeding them up would have allowed more time at the front to really let the show have a personality and identity.

It is just more of a reflection on Medrano where she compromised the personality and memorability of her series to show off these very expensive voice actors she has collected. It does show what is actually most important to her, and it obviously isn't the show.

Even if this was agreed upon with the actors, I would have settled for less prestigious names in favor of having a streamlined and professional series.
