This is inspired entirely by that video of Mel yelling at Gabe for being an idiot before their wedding (if anyone has it pls send me the link bc I looked for it forever but couldn't find it)

It's a perfect July day. The sun is out, with not a cloud in the sky. Music plays through the speakers, some kind of backyard-BBQ-easy-listening playlist on Spotify that keeps the mood light, fun, ready for a party. Well, an even bigger party than the one you’re at—this is like the pre-party to the pre-party.

You’re getting married this weekend, and to accommodate your friends and family who have traveled from far away to be here for you, your fiancé reserved a large (read: huge) Airbnb for everyone to gather. One thing turned into another, and somehow it’s become the pre-game for the welcome dinner, taking place later tonight. Your entire wedding party is here, along with a few scattered members of each of your families, milling about in the pool, playing cornhole, catching up with one another after a summer apart.

But by the looks of it, and judging by the overflowing bin of empty seltzer cans and beer bottles, this gang might not be making it to the welcome dinner tonight. Barzy, Dante, Kacey, and Jesse are engaged in an intense chicken match, sloshing water across Gabe, who’s shouting complaints about messing up his hair. Beside them, JT’s shirt is off, his shoulders fried, and you’re about to yell at him to put on some sunscreen because the best man can't look like a lobster on the wedding day, when you catch sight of a curly head darting around, zooming by on a children’s tricycle—where did that even come from?

“Tyson, I swear to God, if you break your face, I’m going to kill you,” you shout at him, immediately envisioning him falling over, scraping up his handsome face the before the wedding, leaving your poor photographer to frantically photoshop out the inevitably gruesome skid mark on his face.

But he’s not listening, his eyes set on the ramp that Nate is standing proudly beside. “Babe, watch this!”

You watch in horror as he pedals his legs faster, zooming up the ramp and launching off of it before Nate is tossing a beer at him. Tyson catches it in mid-air, pouring only a small stream into his mouth before he’s flying into the water, the splash sending water whooshing over the edge of the pool. He surfaces a few moments later, shaking the water out of his curls amid loud guffaws and cheers from his mates, shouting, “Tyson! Tyson! Tyson!”

Shaking your head, you laugh, amused at his stupidity, and thankful his little stunt didn't end in a disaster. But then, a moment later, you feel a pair of strong arms lifting you up off the ground and you’re shrieking, arms flailing around. The flash of red hair is the last thing you see before they release you and you’re falling, soon crashing into the water yourself, submerged beneath the rippling pool.

When you rise to the surface, it’s your name that everyone’s chanting, and soon enough, Tyson’s swimming toward you to lift you up in his arms and plant a wet, sloppy kiss on your lips.

Pure happiness and mirth fills your soul, smiling so hard your cheeks hurt, and you can’t help it when you exclaim, “I’m marrying this sweet son of a bitch!”

1. He criticized Britney Spears, his ex, for her drinking problems when she was a) being forced to perform to be able to see her children, b) forced to get an IUD, c) being financially abused and defamated by her father and ex, and d) recovering from the mental and emotional trauma of being exploited as a child star. This is one of the main reasons he's being so heavily criticized now. It was not only hypocritical, he ended up doing something worse because Britney never drank and drove

2. OF COURSE the cops say he was perfectly polite. He's a rich white man. He had no reason to fear for his life, the cops probably weren't aggressive towards him at all. He also knew he'd be easily bailed out

3. It is EXTREMELY out of touch to attempt to brush what he did under the rug. My uncle was killed by a drunk driver and it left my aunt and cousins devastated and in a really bad way after his death. Drunk drivers have ruined lives for purely selfish reasons. Hello! I have read all three of your asks and I totally understand where you're coming from! I'm so sorry that your uncle was killed, that is really depressing and sad and I'm praying for your family still💕

One, I'd like to say that no, JT does not need me to come to his aid. I'm VOLUNTEERING to bc I like him. I don't need his permission to tell people to forgive him, that's stupid. It's totally alright to stand up for people, just bc he is an adult does not mean that I cannot stand up for someone.

Two, you are so right! Driving while drunk is a stupid thing to do, and like I said, I am very frustrated he did such a thing. Justin has done tons of things he regrets from his drinking problems, and I wish he would just stop. But addictions are hard to stop (I totally understand that bc I have been thru multiple myself) but I wish he would just try a bit harder.

But I am not brushing what he did "under the rug". I'm sure that I won't persuade you, and that's fine, but I was only saying that we shouldn't take advantage of this to hate him even more.

I am sick of people going "haha, he's a loser" as if just because he is a celebrity that gives him more reason not to sin. I am saying that him driving drunk is just as bad as anyone else driving drunk, and that being drunk in general is terrible but that also shouldn't be the reason we hate him.

Justin Timberlake would never hurt someone on purpose. We all know that. The fact that he could have hurt someone is terrifying, but it's reality and I realize that. The point is, he made a mistake, and mistake does not mean an "oopsie" in this case, it means a "he knew what he was doing and it was a terrible idea".

In my other post I did not phrase it very well, and I'm sorry about that. What I meant was, Justin did something wrong. I am a strong Christian, and I believe that every sin is just as bad as any other. The difference is, some can cause way worse consequences. Driving while drunk is way more dangerous than maybe lying to your parents. But my God tells me that one is not worse than the other.

Even for those not being a Christian, I think everyone should know that there should not be worse sins, and "okay" ones. Everyone deserves a chance. You should forgive everyone 70 times 7. Then do it all over again.

The fact that Justin won't try harder annoys me. But we should never put even more hate on him just because he's well-known. He is a human. He is just as bad at stuff as other people are.

Gosh, I know I'm probably no getting my point across, here lemme try to say this in an easier way. Erm... Justin Timberlake is human. Humans sin. Okay. Sinning is not good at all. We all do it, however, intentionally, from lying to murdering. Big or small consequences can come from any of them. DWI is terrible. I hate when I hear about anyone doing that. You have a right to be angry, I am angry at Justin. But I hate how the already Justin haters are taking advantage of every thing he does and making him seem worse than he is. You can hate him, whatever, but you can't stand beside him everywhere he goes, paper and pen, and mark down his every sin, calling him "even worse than before" with every count. Being drunk is bad!!! Driving while drunk is bad!!! But we should feel sorry for him that he doesn't seem to be able to find an outlet in something else. And we shouldn't hold up his every action, dangerous or not, against him. If we all counted everyone's sins, we would all add up to the same amount of terrible that Justin Timberlake is. We are all dumb humans. We shouldn't hold up everything against each other. We don't know the whole story of anything. All we know is that he was driving drunk. He was probably stressed, trying to have a good time, other stuff. This doesn't make it right. But it should cause us to be more cautious about the situation. Most of the people who bully have things going on at home that is causing them to let out their anger on others. Not saying that's right, but we shouldn't call them "bad people" and basically say "he did this so we're more better than them." That may not be how you think of it, but it's what you're saying.

I really hope I am not making people feel guilty, that is the last thing I want. I just want people to understand my view. If I made anyone feel guilty or it seemed that way, I apologize, that's not how I meant it at all. I just didn't agree with stuff, and I wanted to say what I thought, just how you just sent me what you thought.

Well look at that it's 2024, and my new years resolution is to stay an unbothered icon queen, and hope the hater's die mad. But I also thought I'd take a second to shout out to the people who make the shit show of a year 2023 bearable, and even enjoyable in some cases.

gojo is obvious with his infinity symbolising his strength, separating him from both those closest to him and everyone around him (some by his own doing after his bf dumped him infront of kfc loser shoko has been there 24/7). this was the biggest learning moment for him, noticing the signs after everything went wrong and using it to protect the youth and innocence of sorcerers of today

geto had to consume “evil” on a daily. his mental health rapidly declining with his hope and the increase of cursed spirits he had to exorcise and consume, over and over until he broke. after freeing himself of the burden of protecting the weak non-sorcerers unknowing, unthankful and also undeserving, defending into darkness (which started with toji folding him like a lawnchair) he lost everything and gained everything with nanako and mimiko, two children suffering at the hands of those who he spent EVERYTHING protecting, solidifying his plan of speeding up natural selection to build a world without darkness where children like them can thrive and live happily

itadori was thrown into the world of sorcerers r doomed to consume sukuna (ironic bc of my sukuna bit later) and die, his divergent fist is mostly reliant on his own pure strength alone and how his body adapts and gets stronger after every gruelling battle

nobara has an inherited technique from her grandmother that she’s sorta revamped for the modern era? coming from the country side (older) to the big city (newer) looking to explore have fun and grow - esp with her resonance targeting the soul, her black flash and getting stronger as a sorcerer

megumi’s holds his shikigami incredibly close to him, even getting sad when one has died and left just like his parents. they’re also made using shadows (darkness) as a medium, foreshadowing sukuna using darkness to smother him to use and “consume” him for his own gain

nanami is a straightforward guy who voices his ideals, who split his path into 2 pieces and went for the lesser evil to him (business where he uses his skill to fuck people’s stocks over for money for already super rich people, or being a sorcerer and using his skill to help and protect others, especially children like when he left due to haibara’s death and came back after helping a kind person like him working at that bakery). this makes gojo hold him in high regard as he sees the potential of youth and wishes to protect their innocence until their ready, to guide them and help them grow slowly so they can handle the mental toll of being a sorcerer

mei mei and her manipulation of youth is the opposite of nanami, the protector of youth. she doesn’t just see through her crows, she controls them at the cost of their own lives with bird strike (where she makes them give up their lives in a binding vow for a hideously strong attack). she does the same with everyone and everything around her, choosing who she sides with being the best “gain” for her. she also uses uiui in the same way who can only use jujutsu when she allows due to a binding vow (someone get him therapy i beg)

mechamaru is similar, he observed and bided his time to get what he so desperately needed while also protecting those closest to him using his puppets as spies. he both invaded the privacy of those closest (miwa and copying her simple domain) and furthest (mahito and pseudo geto’s strengths and weaknesses) all to protect those he loved

choso/kamo both have blood manipulation, hating their fathers/family who use blood relatives for their own gain, and holding their mothers (and siblings for choso) to the highest standard possible becoming stronger for them and them alone

toji and maki are both beings who escaped their fate, their downfall with the zenin clan (and makis bad omen as a twin) and free to affect fate with their own actions at no cost (toji breaking fate, of the 6 eyes user and star plasma vessel during tengens merger)

sukuna and his ego consumes everything around him to get stronger, shown by his chef like ct cutting and dismembering anything to bite sized pieces to grow stronger and have fun. this also supports the theory of him being a conjoint twin, either being or “consuming” the twin with a heavenly restriction improving their physical capabilities to the point he has. ironically yuuji’s fate was to consume him and die taking him to the grave completely.

kenjaku is similar, he uses everything and does anything for his plans which are ultimately to fulfill his own curiosity. highjacking the bodies of people useful to him and using it to hurt those closest while also carefully and patiently waiting out every move and persons he’s manipulated using his time by switching bodies and avoiding death to do so with no consequence

willy said he wont be at worlds but also this is more on a logistics standpoint. would anyone who was eliminated early make it to worlds? most people who go are those who didnt make the playoffs so it would be difficult for someone who got eliminated round one to join right? wouldnt they draft up the teams for worlds wayyy earlier? this is a purely logistical question, it just got me wondering

yeah, i think it's possible to still make it there. there are now pics of jt waiting in the airport to go to prague bc he's joining team canada so def the leafs could. hedman of the lightning is there, roman josi of the preds is there, etc etc. they do have their teams in mind and release the rosters while the playoffs are going on, but i think the younger players and rookies get bumped off if the vets want and are able to attend.

oh bestie. this is probably my favorite wip/concept i'm most excited for and I honestly think it's some of my best writing. only problem is it's centered around tyson's trade and I'm not sure if it'd hit the same if I posted it now, so I've never really put much effort into completing it.

I am pretty sure I've posted snippets before but of course can't find them bc the tagging system on this site is horrendous so I'll just start with a summary: reader is one of tyson's girls, and on his last night in denver, jt joins them for one last tryst. a few months pass, and reader finds herself falling for jt in the summer that he wins the cup. essentially, it's my take on the resentment tyson felt for his best friends and former teammates following the trade but with a ✨twist✨

The day they finally reunite after months is nothing like what either of them wanted, but they both knew it was coming. It’s uncomfortable and awkward, the mangled mess of emotions sitting heavily between them in silence as they make small talk at the restaurant in Chicago. JT’s walking on eggshells, picking his words carefully to avoid stepping on any bombs, and Tyson is doing his best to push down the rage that bubbles inside of him as he sees the photo of you flash on JT’s phone background when he gets a text—probably from you.

“Why did it have to be her?” he blurts out. He doesn’t mean to, but he figures it might as well come out anyways. He can see the shift in JT’s eyes, and the way he averts his gaze makes him even more mad. Why can’t he look him in the eye when he admits to stabbing his best friend in the back?

“You—I didn’t—you never told me there was anything more,” JT says, more sad than defensive, feeling the guilt that’s been panging away at his heart since the first time he kissed you. “I wouldn’t have–”

“Wouldn’t you? I left.” He can’t keep the bite out of his words, not meaning to snap—not really, at least.

“Tys, come on, you know I wouldn’t—not if she was your girl.” JT’s pleading with him, wants Tyson to see it from his perspective, to know that he would never, ever do anything to betray him; that he’d never let a girl get in the way of their friendship.

“But she was though, wasn’t she? Kind of.”

JT doesn’t know what to say, because there’s nothing he can say. It’s not a simple matter of right or wrong, black or white; it’s complex and raw and absolutely fucking miserable. In his heart, he knows he didn’t do anything wrong, but he also knows that’s not the way Tyson sees it; it isn’t the way he’d see it, either, if the roles were reversed.

i will always be an apologist for this movie bc its realistic. like the men in this are depraved, selfish, disgusting creatures that forego any and all social norms if it means they can get off. even nice guy ricky is revealed to be just as terrible as jt, only instead of keeping his zombie slave locked up in a basement, he keeps his clean and surrounds her in soft fairy lights. it's the same violence, just disguised as pure or innocent to absolve him of any guilt. he murdered a teenage girl and keeps her as a pet, but he's so much more merciful than jt, right?

maybe this has happened but i've never really seen anyone give hannah the "did nothing wrong" treatment.

like people did it to josh the most. a lot of it happened to chris, matt and sam and sometimes mike, ash, jess and emily (with some criticisms obv)

but like every time i've seen hannah brought up a lot of people tend to only really dislike her and call her stupid and never give her that "oh she did nothing wrong!!! pure soul!!!" like they've kinda done to the other characters like no one really tries defending her from what i've seen (most of it is outdated bc this fandom died off ages ago on tumblr and i've seen a lot of this on tik tok)

i've said it before and i'll say it again; what they did to hannah was absolutely sexual harassment. you lure a girl to a private room with a suggestive note, toying with her feelings all the while and then film it? that is textbook harassment and in her own home as well

and yet nobody has sympathy for her like it's so strange to me. i got into a small little argument with someone on twitter about this and they really kept trying to say it was Hannah's fault like ?!?!? 😭😭 how is it her fault that she's just going through what every straight (debatably) girl has gone through; crushing on an attractive guy like

like it's so weird to me to absolve blame of everyone involved just bc hannah "made moves on mike" like that's not a fkn valid reason to sexually harass someone?(!(! and whatever i know it's fake and it's just a game but like. i'm saying this as someone who's been sexually harassed and been made to feel like i was the stupid one and i was the one in the wrong. like it's such a shitty feeling and jt sucks to see it happen in like. a favorite game of mine (and current special interest)
