I think this scene/comment from Summer is the reason Rick goes so hard on Jerry for being unemployed? This episode shows Rick's need for approval and company in general, but I can't help but feel that this line in particular hit a nerve for him. Just look at his reaction.
Apart from Doofus Rick's conversation with Jerry in Close Rick-counters of the Rick Kind, Jerry's unemployment isn't mentioned at all until Rick decides to use it as an insult in Total Rickall.
Tumblr media
We then see both Summer and Beth have picked this up in Look Who's Purging Now.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This might not have been intentional, but I 100% believe that Rick got his feelings hurt by Summer pointing out his unemployment near the end of S1 and decided to start lashing out at Jerry for being unemployed shortly after in S2 to take the spotlight off himself.

I feel like Rick: A Mort Well Lived and Fear No Mort were supposed to be Pickle Rick/Analyze Piss/Air Force Wong for Morty, but...not really? Rick: A Mort Well Lived was more for the audience's benefit (does Morty even remember any of that?), and it didn't tell us anything new. I mean--yeah, we know that Morty has conflicting feelings toward Rick. That's not news.
Fear No Mort was better because it explored his deeper fears and Morty actually recalls what happened, but it's still not therapy. Unearthing his subconscious fears can help, but throwing them in his face in the most horrifying way? Nope, that's not exposure therapy. That's just retraumatizing him.
That doesn't mean these episodes are BAD, but I want him to explore his psyche in a healthy environment where he can get help. And it's best to do it while he's still young.

For @bisexualricks ask game :)
1. Top 5 favorite episodes and why
- Rest and Ricklaxation - it’s a pretty fun episode and has some of my favorite versions of Rick and Morty! It’s really the first time we get a clear confirmation that Rick does care about Morty a lot more than he pretends to. Also Detox Morty is goofy and a hyper mess, like he could not sit still when he went to dinner with Jessica and I love him so much for that little detail
- Unmortricken - I had trouble between picking this or Fear No Mort, but I had to pick Unmortricken for a few different reasons. First of all, Evil Morty finally gets more screen time. Evil Rick finally gets more screen time. Rick Prime finally gets more screen time. Also there were definitely some implications of EMorty wanting to friends with Morty but in deep denial abt it. He looked sad while in his snow globe… also everything that happened with prime, and Rick needing a lot more therapy and feeling empty even tho he got his long awaited revenge.
- Look Who’s Purging Now - Morty being bad ass Morty being bad ass Morty being bad ass Morty being bad ass Morty being bad a
- Total Rickall - it’s another fun episode where Morty also takes charge and kicks ass. Cuz let bffr if Morty hadn’t figured out the bit with it only being happy memories the family would’ve been screwed. Also it was the first time that the show had confirmation of supporting LGBTQ with Jerry and Sleepy Gary (if only he had been real and not a parasite)
- Get Schwifty - firstly, the debut of the president who has been a pretty fun character throughout the show! Also it explores a lot of Rick and Morty’s relationship and how Rick does really care about him and can be kind of hopeless without Morty around. Also that scene where Morty is with BP and there’s the picture of Rick holding up Morty as a baby and looking insanely happy at having a grandson
There are a lot more episodes that I love, like the heist one, Fear No Mort, and Rickfending Your Mort! But these were just the first ones that came to mind

After having rewatching the mortis arc recently, It really has gotten me thinking on the effects/foreshadowing that takes place during this arc.
As what’s been clearly established during this is that the son is the embodiment and/or life of the dark side, and the daughter being the polar opposite, the embodiment and/or the life force of the light side. With the father being the balance? Or possibly in a way representing “the chosen one” (Anakin). The father does establish that Anakin is his equal or possibly even more powerful, stating that only Anakin shares his power to control his children, the embodiment’s and life forces of the light and dark side. Meaning that the father in the way of my logic could represent Anakin.
Another established thing about this is that mortis has a very sped of time cycle, which seasons passes through very quickly during the day meaning a year happens in a few hours? (a guess) So what if the effects of the deaths of the son, daughter, and father, are what set “the fate” of the force for the next 22 (?) years (I do not know how many years are left of the clone wars at this point).
The orders of the deaths of these embodiments of the force is what lines up with what happens in the universe for the next ~22 years. A few hours last before anyone dies, representing the rest of the clone wars. The daughter (light side) dies first, which could have represented (or been the effect of) The Jedi Purge (But light side force wielders remaining because some of her life force was passed onto Ahsoka, hence making her partly the embodiment of the light side of the force). The time in between the death and the daughter and the death of the father is the time of the empire before the death of Palpetine. As based on the sped up time on mortis around twenty years has happened in between this time. The the father dies much later via himself to kill the son, this being Anakin’s sacrifice which kills the son (the dark side or hence Palpetine) not much later. Representing the end of the empire and the dark side.
Hence the events that take place on mortis are symbolic metaphor or a alluding fate that is set for future of the force and Anakin for the next ~22+ years of the galaxy. Thank you for listening to my very disorganized thoughts on this arc.

Rick and Morty season 2 episode 9 "Look who's purging now" Review!
This was a really great episode! The jokes were funny and I loved that we got to see Morty's repressed rage, honestly I can understand it, the poor boy goes through so much, no wonder he has repressed rage, those poor people he took it out on though-
Random thoughts:

I mean...Rick wasn't wrong

JESUS MORTY
Tumblr media
I liked the detail of Morty looking at his hands while he realizes what he's done, the body language in this show is amazing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The fact that Rick was actually against what Morty was doing-
Tumblr media
Honestly Morty has every right to be mad at him, dude has the patientece of a saint, I love Rick in the show, but I would not be able to stand him for more than 2 minutes in real life
Tumblr media
*Casually electrocutes grandson*
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Awww I find it sweet that Rick lied to spare Morty's feelings, Rick could've just bragged about how he was right, but instead chose to comfort the kid.
Final Rating: 10/10 Funny, love the premise, and I love finding out more about Morty's character!

Day in Fandom History: September 27…
During a pit stop on a random planet, Rick and Morty heard that the planet they’re on holds a one-night event where all crime is legal a la The Purge in which the duo went from spectating to being a part of it. “Look Who’s Purging Now” premiered on this day, 7 Years Ago.

Your version of YB is so sweet! I love seeing him being all sweet and protective over Jay / your sona / OC ❤️
hehhe yeahh
Jay and Peter have quite a wholesome relationship for the most part. I don't draw it really nor do I post it, but they do fight a lot. in the beginning it was usually just passive comments from Jay and Peter getting frustrated being unable to satisfy him
I mean, it's cause Jay had a bunch of issues at the time but anyway

"what was it like having integrity for once" no jerry i. i don't think you have that.
#random thoughts#guess what motherfuckers it's blue man time#the whirly dirly conspiracy. the pissmaster episode. when he tried to manipulate summer into giving him money in the purge episode.#listen i love jerry so much but dude you're NOT a moral paragon quit kidding yourself#rewatching this episode is honestly like yeah this sucked as much as it did the first watch#mainly because jerry and rick honestly are not that different? which is probably why they clash so much#honestly i think it'd be cool if they did another friendshine episode with summer and morty diving into their scrambled minds#and trying to sort out memories and personality traits manually#and when they inevitably get it wrong they have to face some preconceived notions they hold about their father and their granddad#and also this is when they learn about what happened on the whirly dirly#also since their brains are scrambled they have to figure out whose memories are whose and they take the place of whoever's memory it is#so there are two seperate plots running at once where summer's in one memory and morty's in another#and they both have an 'oh god i thought i was in rick/dad's memory but i was actually in dad/rick's memory!!!'#also memory rick is in there somewhere. idk who he'd play off better because on one hand#summer is very much like diane so memory rick (who doesn't remember diane because he's bp's idea of what rick was like as a 35 year old)#might play nicely off her? but on the other hand#a rick who so recently had diane killed would be SO interesting for morty to interact with#idk maybe in this version of events the garage (whose priority would be keeping rick alive) would shove all the brain matter into rick#and keep jerry alive as like. a courtesy. so summer and morty have to dive into the same head so memory rick could split between them#or maybe a fragmented version of memory rick exists in both heads! god a fragmented version of a memory from someone else's head. so fucked

The other day I was talking to @vaultureculture about Kuras' having a bit of owl in his design and that made me look for his 'biblically' accurate form because my memory was fuzzy, but my brain had been cooking for a while already and I needed answers.
After looking at his real form, I have to wonder: are angels in this world really this grotesque, or is it just Kuras?
Tumblr media
screenshot by @sweet-milky-tea705
If so, is this disfigurement a punishment given before he, willfully, decided to ostricize himself, or is it the effect of him being away from his 'exalted origins' for so long?
His real body seems to stand between rotting corpse and an alien figure - a carcass well-past rigor mortis of an otherwordly creature, yet somehow this thing feels oddly... alive, almost if it were an empty exoskeleton clinging to life out of sheer will or even spite. Or perhaps it is meant to mirror the very essence of this world of decay in it's full, blunt, raw glory.
Maybe it's the effect of his immeasurable guilt, corroding his very essence. Just what did this angel do, or perhaps did not do, to deserve eternal purgatory? What is necessary for a divine being to decide for themselves that they deserve such fate?
Was it even his idea? What if it's somebody else's will that Kuras is carrying out as his own, ever true and loyal to his role as a messenger to the very end? How much of all of this is something he actually wants and thinks by himself he ought to do in order to purge whatever wrongdoing of his?
A MC with The Unnamed background seems to know Kuras (or at least seems to be in tune with a being like him), and a familiarity between the two is hinted at in the demo. Is Kuras always this open with everybody, or is it just with MC? Why was he so familiar with us, to the point he even laughs and MC reacts to his touch like they remember it? Does he just feel that much at ease around us or do we actually know each other, somehow?
What is going on with Kuras?
Is his body decaying due to heavy shame and guilt, or is it just like that, a horrifyingly indecipherable view to anything mundane?
Or is it standing in between worlds, in the limbo between holy and corrupt, never forgetting the past but also never looking forward to the future, that is pulling him apart?

I like how even though Rick and Morty don't exactly look related (Note the differing skin tones, hair color, and not even the same last names, although I think thats pretty standard for peoples maternal grandparents) they make up for it in the facial area. They both have big round eyes (Before anyone says anything some people have narrow eyes like Beth so that's not just the eyes for everyone) and they both have the same nose shape, Morty is the only one in the family with a round stumpy nose like Rick, everyone else has a more pointed nose.
They also are the only ones in the family with a stutter, although they stutter for different reasons (Morty when he's in distresss and Rick when he's drunk or frustrated)
They also both refer to themselves in third person when talking about both of them (For example they both says Rick and Morty instead of you and me)
Both of them can seem calm on the outside while furious on the inside (Check the whirly dirly conspiracy)
Both of them can be aggressive (Look who's purging now)
And both of them usually only kill in self defense (Check basically any episode)
And they are both protective over each other (Check Unmortricken)
I like how they show their similarities without relying on looks.
