December 31st, 2025

Going to start 2025 programming, so if you need me, I'll be lost in a sea of coffee, bugs, and late-night breakthroughs.
Let’s see where this year takes us. Wishing all of you a beautiful 2025.
Todays been a busy day; life is starting to get back to normal so I'm back to developing a schedule and hopefully sticking to it.
What I did today:
❄ finally finished planning out my portfolio so I can start coding right away in 2025 ❄ lots of scrapbooking ❄ found some projects to do on python ❄ reviewed SQL ❄ started adding to my resume so I can keep it up to date
To-do Jan 1st:
🎆 start programming my portfolio again 🎆 five leet code questions 🎆 check out some free resources people recommended to me 🎆 some GMAT review 🎆 2 hours of Azure studying

Death by a thousand cuts in my class this week
#please feel free to ignore this#Jake meets world#I'm going to be really busy the next couple of weeks so I've been working ahead#In (almost) all my other classes every assignment except the exams is available right at the start of the semester#so you could theoretically do the whole thing right away#Not this class#The assignments are locked so you can only start them like 2-3 weeks before they're due#And the assignment I'm working on now is so tedious and confusing#Half of the questions are like 'invent a formula! Now optimize it!'#This is not the invent a formula class this is the AI class#I also just hate having to graph really big datasets because it's such a pain lol#Can't really do it in Excel and trying to do it in Python is like trying to force a mouse to be a rabbit#Also for some reason they have a FAQs document separate from the assignment#so you have to like read the assignment and then read the FAQs to make sure you're doing it correctly#Just put the assignment information in the assignment? Modify the instructions to include this?

⚔️“‘Tis But A Scratch.”☠️
A final I made for my 3D animation class. Yes, i used that one clip from Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and yes, I included Valor, my knight OC from one of my BWW AUs, but bald due to their hair clipping through their body.
The reason why Valor is here is because this is exactly how they would handle this type of situation. Especially if one of their arms were severed, though they can grow it back instantly. It’s also funnier imagining the guy on the left being Balan.

This morning I misread the theorem on the board and thought it said subset instead of subspace, which was rather troubling since we used convexity in the argument. Naturally, I ask what guarantees convexity and the professor pointed out subspace so cool. Great.
But he also said "where did you pick that up? Off the street?"
Because yeah, you can use a convex set instead of subspace. But it was such an unexpected question, phrased in such an unexpected way.
#the theorem is the metric based on the min distance between a point and a closed subspace#i do remember proving the closed convex set version once on a hw assignment (differential topology class) and it was a nightmare#seven stories#functional#DEs was also confusing and all over the place today#we were doing some matlab stuff but mostly listend/watched him? but most of us had our laptops out#which was great for me cause i was running a python script all day so I was able to fix a mistake on the input txt file during class#and start the script again#i also just like. did the entire cosing problem from the hw during class. it took like 5 min

looking through the syllabi for the semester and in a term where I'm taking 3 challenging stem courses the scariest of them is the .25 credit ballroom dance class
#the second scariest is the physics with calculus one but only because this course is taught by an insane man.#'all assignments must include a narrative explaining your problem solving process'#'you are expected to complete additional challenges to get a B or A'#'some of your homework problems will require visual python'#^ the teaching methods of a man who has long since abandoned his humanity

December 29th, 2024
Spent the day at a coffee shop, after a few days of not studying at all. I’ve been upset by some things in my personal life lately; i feel like I’m loosing my closest friend. On top of that, my family visiting for Christmas has made life extremely busy. I was still a bit down while studying- I still am and everything feels like it takes 45x more energy, but being in a familiar coffee shop in a new location really kept me going. I didn’t do too much, but I’m happy with today because
I did something at least
I created a program I’ve been struggling with
What I got done today:
🧸Current CS50 unit (+ finished 4 remaining assignments for that unit) 🧸Completed an API/requests Python project 🧸Did my December budgeting 🧸Laundry + hanging up my clothes 🧸A little scrapbooking
To-do tomorrow:
📜Not break down 📜Study the next CS50 unit (lecture + notes + assignments) 📜Complete the next CS50 assignments 📜Make a collage to post

Ok that could be a great premise for a show though. Starts out a serial killer procedural with hints of something deeper. Main character is a fresh agent excited to be doing good. Over time it's revealed that the overarching plot is not a big bad serial killer, but corruption within the FBI being covered up with fake serial killers. Season 2 the agent thinks they catch the corrupt agents only to find out they weren't corrupt at all they were enacting orders. Season 3 the agent is desperately trying to prevent a terrorist attack by fascists but their superiors are obsessed with potential communists so instead they fake some serial killings to draw attention to the fascist group.
Serial killer horror almost always falls flat with me, not only because by default it has to frame the police (usually the literal FBI) as an unquestionable force of good, but because I know just enough about IRL serial killers (thanks 3 years of my life I wasted "studying" criminology) to know they are unanimously deeply uninteresting and pathetic people. The most common type of serial killer is a guy who kills vulnerable people (sex workers, substance users, racialized women and girls, queer people) because he can and gets away with it for a while because he's targeting people whose lives are explicitly devalued by the society he lives in. That's it. There's no secret pattern that needs to be uncovered, no cryptic messages that need to be decoded, and definitely no "Satanic" shit. The handful of times there is weird "occult" stuff involved it's literally just untreated mental illness and/or fascist mysticism/religiosity. There's genuinely nothing interesting or scary about these people, just a bitter and depressing distillation of the thousands of routine violences needed to maintain the status quo.
#English needs better pronouns#keeping the agent gender neutral was way too complicated#wish i could assign pronouns like variables in python#“the agent (assigned ze now) did x. Ze was always trying y but now did x.”#no disrespect to people who go by they them though i love you all#not your fault English is a joke of a language

Python for Absolute Beginners: What You Need to Know
If you're completely new to programming and wondering where to begin, Python is your best friend. It’s beginner-friendly, widely used, and—let’s be honest—kind of fun once you get the hang of it. Whether you're a student tackling your first computer science class or just exploring coding as a skill, here's everything you need to know about learning Python from zero.
🐍 Why Python?
Python is often called the "first language of programming" because of its simple syntax and human-readable code. You don’t need to understand complex computer jargon to write your first Python program. And guess what? It's not just for beginners—Python is used by top tech companies for AI, machine learning, web development, automation, and data science.
📘 Getting Started with Python
Here’s what every absolute beginner should focus on:
Install Python: Use the official site (python.org) or download Anaconda if you're leaning towards data science.
Choose a Code Editor: Start with beginner-friendly environments like Thonny or VS Code.
Understand the Basics: Learn variables, data types, conditionals (if statements), loops (for, while), and functions.
✏️ Struggling with Homework? Get Help!
Learning to code is not always smooth. When those assignments pile up or a concept just won’t click, don’t hesitate to ask for help.
You can get Python assignment help, homework assistance, or expert tutoring at AllHomeworkAssignments.com. From explaining basic syntax to helping with full projects, their Python tutors can guide you step-by-step.
🧠 Practice, Practice, Practice
Once you know the basics, start solving small problems:
Make a calculator
Build a to-do list
Try a number guessing game
Use platforms like Replit or Jupyter Notebook to code directly in your browser. Need help? Get quick feedback from Python online help forums or request assignment reviews from coding experts.
🚀 What’s Next After the Basics?
Once you're comfortable with the fundamentals:
Learn about Python libraries like pandas, matplotlib, and flask
Explore Python projects like web apps, games (with pygame), or automation scripts
Prepare for internships or coding interviews with practice on LeetCode and HackerRank
✅ Conclusion
Python is the perfect entry point into the world of programming. And with the right resources, support, and expert help when needed, you’ll go from beginner to confident coder in no time.
So go ahead—open that code editor and type your first print("Hello, World!"). You've got this!
