DCU Bang 2019 - Reveals Schedule

The DCU Bang 2019 Ao3 Collection is open! Posting Guidelines are here.

Stories will be revealed daily, at about 5PM Mountain Time. Here is a time converter for you! On the "Converted Time" clock, select "Change your Location" and input your own information to see what time that is for you, daily. (The date, November 3rd is irrelevant.)

What time is that for me?

Days I am away: I will be at a con October 18-20, so the reveals might be several hours late. I will try my best to get stories revealed at about 5PM as planned, but it could be much later, such as 10PM, or even later.

If you still haven’t claimed a date, please make sure to do so right here: Reveals Date Claiming Form. If you need to use the amnesty period, this is no problem, just select a date between October 27th and November 2, so that I can mark you down on my end!

I also want to remind everyone that if you need to drop out, please just let me know! If you are Tandem or Solo, there are no consequences for dropping out, if you are Traditional, however, there can be consequences. Please reach out to me if you need help, I'm very willing to work with people that contact me!

D&D Magic Items: Artifacts of the Great Old Ones

Fragment of Makroqosm (Fragment of Qosm):

Wonderous Item, very rare, requires attunement

A small, snow-white piece of the entity known as Qosm, the “Great Whole”. While attuned to this item, the user may cast Crown of Madness, Evard’s Black Tentacles, and Darkness at their lowest level at-will. Once per day, the attuned creature may cast the spell Crown of Stars as a 7th level spell.

Gaodhan Pendant:

Wonderous Item, very rare, requires attunement

A circular silver pendant, with the words “Fear the Deep, Fear the Darkness” written on it in Deep Speech. A creature who does not know Deep Speech may translate the inscription with a successful DC17 Intelligence check.

While attuned to this item, the wearer is proficient in Deep Speech, and may cast the spells Cause Fear, Fear, Darkness, and Watery Sphere spells at will.

Petrified Amygdala:

Wonderous Item, rare, requires attunement

A small stone vaguely similar in shape to an almond. Said to be taken from the brains of petrified corpses, this item acts as a buffer against preternatural fear.

When attuned to this item, the wearer is immune to spells or effects that would frighten it.

Essence of Faatus:

Wonderous Item, very rare, requires attunement

A capsule containing the ever-polymorphic essence of the Outer God Faatus. When attuned to this item, the wearer may cast the spell creation at-will. However, whenever this item is used in this way, the caster must roll on the Wild Magic Surge at the beginning of every turn for one minute.

Sanguine Surgical Gloves:

Wonderous Item, very rare, requires attunement

A pair of formerly pristine gloves used by the doctors and surgeons of the Church of Astral Knowledge, forever stained by the blood of countless patients.

While attuned to this item, a creature may use a bonus action to “observe” a creature, requiring the target to make a DC 17 Wisdom save. If the creature fails, the attuned user may then add an additional 6d6 damage of the appropriate damage tag to their next physical attack against the targeted creature.

Additionally, an attuned creature may use an action to cast life transference at 3rd level a number of times equal to their Wisdom modifier. The attuned creature may do so again after a long rest.

These items were heavily inspired by the stories of H.P. Lovecraft, as well as my own currently renewed interest in the lore and gameplay of Bloodborne. This is only the first of (hopefully) many items relating to my primordial abominations, so hopefully these add an eerie element to your games!
