we spent so much time wondering if anyone ever chooses tubbo first. and now. and now bad builds an underground base, tells his coach how good a job he did, and steps back into purgatory thinking of him. now bagi looks her daughter in the eyes and tells her she has to leave her to go to purgatory, because she has to be there for tubbo. now sunny, who once worked only unwillingly, builds a bunker by hand, block by reinforced block. now fit promises to watch sunny, of course, tubbo doesn't even have to ask. (but then again, fit and pac have always been there, haven't they? morning crew is always there for each other. but now maybe they aren't the only ones after all.)

Listen, I'm not saying that Tubbo is the strongest person on the QSMP, I'm just saying that if you can stomach 10 months somehow married to Tommyinnit despite the fact that he is dating somebody else, and then when you try and get a divorce he writes an entire Wattpad fanfic about you and him, you may or may not be stronger than other people realize.

okay I’ve been inspired to rant about soulfire’s spawn now (this is very /lh im having so much fun)

It’s on the top of the mountain which is already painful. add to that the burning sun melting tons of the snow on day one, now it’s just horribly shattered-looking and the respawn is on a pillar, they instantly lose hunger and take damage trying to parkour navigate out. it’s even worse at night.

q!tina earlier had to hide in a hole eating maggots to survive and im still so obsessed with this scene, it was like a pivotal character moment

“im eating maggots in the snow oh my god this is disgusting this is like the worst arc I could go through. i’m taking this to my grave I can’t tell anybody, this is embarrassing this is like. you die with this secret. i’d rather admit that I killed federation workers than admit that I ate maggots in the snow all by myself.” 💀

so ofc blue very early on decided to abandon the spawn and instead make their base on a nice cozy little beach, and today they put a bed to respawn and everything! <3

but SIKE the bed doesn’t do anything and they’re cursed to keep spawning on top of the mountain anyways!!! :D

so every time a blue member dies, they gotta make the fun journey of trying to survive navigating out of their hellscape spawnpoint, run down the whole mountain breaking their ankles with every step, and drag their battered starving bodies into the frozen ocean. <333

I think both teams went for vibes ngl.

Tubbo chose Fit first to reunite Fit and Pac and, by extension, The Morning Crew.

Philza chose Roier first to reunite Roier and Cellbit and, by extension, the rest of Roier's family on the team.

Tubbo picked Bagi and Forever because it would make Bad and Tina happy. He chose Mike to complete the morning crew and

Phil knew he was going to pick Etoiles because they're friends, and he was excited to do so. He chose Mouse because she was already wearing the gas mask.

In choosing vibes, there's still some drama. The Favela Six are still split up. The French Speakers are still split up. Cellbit and Bagi are still split up. Phil and Fit are still split up. Slimeriana is still a tragic romance.

I think this will still be interesting.

Team Gay Ninjas: Getting everyone they can online, trying their best to get the quests done, Etoiles and Roier getting blue balled of PvP

Team Bolas Rojas: “Yo if you could lactate chocolate milk and offered me some, I would absolutely say yes” and constantly hunting down Pac

thinking about tubbo and his relationship with leadership. how he asked forever if he could be president for a day and got added to a long list of names of people who would take over for the person before their name on the list. how he asked to be leader of soulfire and everyone was like "uh yeah sure i guess" on that first day and didn't really take it seriously.

and then fast-forward to now, he's going into purgatory 2 with a whole team behind him supporting him and his leadership. they want him to lead them again without even knowing what's to come, and they still call him coach and captain. it doesn't matter that they lost the first time. it doesn't matter that he's the youngest on the island. he's won people's respect, but more importantly, he's found a family in soulfire, and they've all found a family in each other too. it doesn't just come from a place of respect. it also comes from a place of love. and he's come so far since he was first released from that ice prison. they all have.

before purgatory, no one took tubbo seriously. he only had morning crew. bad was his enemy because of ron and fred. bagi hated him for the hole. he didn't have an egg. so much has changed since then. i mean, just think about what bad said when he showed tubbo the base! think about how bagi's desire to go to purgatory was to save tubbo and the other members of soulfire, how she's said so many times that she wants him as her coach again.

he's found respect, and he's found love of every kind in places he never would have even thought to look. i don't think there's any truer definition of found family than team soulfire.

Headcanon that Team Soulfire isn't Immune to the Cold

Headcanon that they just know to fear it-they're human like everybody else, for the most part. Green Gay Ninjas weren't immune to the relentless heat of the jungle, nor were Bolas Rojas immune to the ever-present radiation that blanketed the plains they called home. No, they adapted, and so did Soulfire.

The cold didn't change Soulfire's body, it changed their mind.

When Ironmouse suggests taking Empanada up the mountain for the scenic view, Tina bundles her in five layers of coats and stuffs newspaper in between. She swats Ironmouse's hand away when the demon tries to give their daughter a thick parka colored pink because-

"Those kinds of coats don't save you. They just make you think that you have longer to live."

When BadBoyHalo sets out to build the massive snowmen that tower over Quesadilla Island, he gathers food. Digestion keeps you warmer for longer, and it keeps you alive.

He gives a bundle of chicken to Dapper and bread to Pomme-

"Dad, why do we need so much food?"

BadBoyHalo's smile falters.

"Because it keeps us warm."

Tubbo doesn't count in sets of five, ten. His are composed of four, eight, twelve, sixteen-

"Why don't you have all your fingers, pa?" Sunny asks one day, as Tubbo is trying to figure out the amount of snow that they would have needed to collect to fill the Tubhole.

Tubbo doesn't answer. The feeling of frostbite, of necrosis, of that realization that if you want to stay alive any longer you have to leave your fingers behind, it's all too familiar to the young mechanic. It's a feeling that he wishes nobody else had to know.

It's not just the leaders either, nor the original Soulfire members (though they bear the brunt of this incessant memory). Bagi seems to always have a cup of tea going on the stove, Rivers stopped wearing flip-flops ages ago (you can't really wear flip-flops when you're missing two toes on either foot), and Missa tries to play it off like it's nothing when he gives Chayanne and Tallulah thick winter coats as a coming back gift.

Team Soulfire isn't immune to the cold. They had to learn how to survive, and learning meant failing, again and again and again. The lessons that came from the mountain aren't ones that they will forget any time soon.
