I've been listening to a lot of #transpunk on BandCamp. QTPi Express is one of the best.

(Q)ueer (T)rans (P)unks (i)n e(Xpress)ion were born on the same week the fascist Trump administration took office in 2016 at the 1st annual Transgress Fest, a radical DIY music festival which centers transgender fronted bands and artists. They were an all trans improv punk band that often invited audience participation during their live sets. Those guest spots were specifically designated for trans folks and queer women and femmes to unapologetically take up space in front of a live audience. They carved out songs from repeated ideas in order to record what would become this, the Punch A Nazi EP.

I love thinking about Zeke being a Blade Eater. I can't explain why, but it's so interesting and it makes him so much cooler imo. And the crazy thing is that the game itself doesn't even bring it up that much.

It's basically mentioned once when it's first revealed, and then it's brought up again after the party leaves the Spirit Crucible, and then it isn't really talked about after that. They don't go into any details on how having part of Pandoria's Core Crystal in Zeke's chest affects him. And yeah, there's plenty that you can infer or theorize about, but again, not much that is specifically delved into.

And I'm not complaining about this, because while yes I would have liked to know more about Zeke being a Blade Eater and what that truly means for him, I also feel as though there wouldn't really be a good spot in the story to dive deep into that without taking away from the main plot for a while. And I mean, I guess they could have done a side quest like they did for Poppi QTPi, but also that's technically a Blade Quest and I don't think they'd do that for Zeke. I guess technically within the lore it wouldn't be impossible to have Zeke be a Blade when you look at Mikail who is a Blade Eater you can use as a Blade in NG+, but I also think that Nia being able to switch between Driver and Blade is something that should be unique to her. Pretty much I think it would be weird to have Zeke being a Blade, so I don’t think a Blade Quest would work, and I don’t believe there are any like... major side quests with cutscenes and all that that aren't Blade Quests. So yeah, understandable as to why it isn't talked about more in game.

I honestly don't know where I'm going with this post lol. I just think Zeke's Blade Eater-ness was pretty unexplored (which again, I understand why it isn't delved into more) and it's an aspect of his character that I think about a lot. Idk maybe I'll make a post in the future diving into my theories and headcanons but we'll see. I just have too many thoughts about this character in general lmao

Hello qtpies! I've never done this before (because I'm nervous about not meeting people's expectations or not writing well enough lol) but, I'm opening my asks! I'm taking requests for any Pedro character but hoping to see more Joel asks as I feel like I understand him and the TLOU world the most compared to his other characters. hiihi, sorta but not really! The pink is just what I use as my general text, and sometimes I'll use the purple as an emphasis, or if there's too much "pink" to mix it up, or even when I'm adding something I'm not happy about admitting so it's not so "visible" (hard to explain lol)

I decided to categorize every Blade in Xenoblade 2 based on how you get them, and roughly how good they are (big spoilers for a handful of these, so tread carefully).

To explain a few of these that might be more contentious: all of the Poppi forms have their uses when you're playing as Tora even though QTpi is obviously the best one by far and Alpha and QT are a lot worse by comparison (also the Sprit Crucible Elpys on its own justifies using Alpha and QT wholesale). I don't usually like using Blade Nia over Driver Nia personally, but she's the best healer in the game by far if that's what you're looking for. Roc has a Smash art which is really useful on Rex throughout the whole story, even if he's completely unremarkable otherwise. Pandoria is only remotely good in NG+, though I could see an argument for putting her in the above tier on the basis of her being a free Launch art for Zeke. Poppibuster, Theory, and Praxis are all mediocre, but they get the job done better than most of the gacha blades. Agate is just Dagas but worse, but if she's all you've got then she's absolutely worth using. Ursula is not good in combat, but the Merc Missions you get for her quest are a godsend for raising Blades quicker and I was really annoyed that I didn't pull her on my last playthrough for this reason. Harold is just Kos-Mos but worse, but the fact that Harold is guaranteed with like five minutes of item grinding compared to Kos-Mos's 0.1% pull chance, I think her usefulness goes without saying.

I think this is interesting to look at because it really goes to show how you don't need the gacha system to get by in this game. Even if you have absolute garbage luck, you're still guaranteed to get good blades through other means, especially if you have the expansion pass. Really it just speaks to why, even though it's not ideal, the gacha system doesn't really harm the game a lot in my opinion and only really becomes an issue if you're trying to get every blade (which is also entirely within the realm of possibility!! I and many others have done it).
