critical role perfectly exemplifies the ttrpg batshit character syndrome™ where every new character and character choice made will somehow be exponentially crazier than the one before. there's so many good examples but one of my favourites is the pet situation in every campaign bc it's literally:
c1: armored bear, useful in battle and very cute
c2: traumatized weasel alive against all odds and a magic cat
c3: monky with gun and a flying cockney rat corpse

Imagine 6 to 8 years old Yang realizing that she lives in the middle of nowhere and she might need a way of transportation and choosing a dirty motorbike because it looks cool .
Qrow: What you got there ?
Yang *running past him* : A BIKE
YEAHHHHHHHH
In my mind her first means of transportation was some broken dirt bike she found in the woods and then “fixed” enough for it to run
Qrow: uh whatcha got there kid?
Yang completely deadpan holding a blowtorch welding a hole in the exhaust pipe shut: cookies

INT: To be totally honest, coming here, I didn't know who I was going to meet. From a personality perspective, you read all sorts of things about you.
RUSSELL: You do, don't you?
INT: Do you feel that this image of 'Hollywood's bad boy' is overblown?
RUSSELL: Here's the thing mate, I'm not from Hollywood. I go there to work. But it's all made up and I'm sorry to burst your bubble. What do you think the whole tough guy thing is? I put makeup on for a living, brother.
That's all. That's what I do. But it's not an act. It's a perception that somebody writes and then the next person goes on top of that and goes on top of that. You know, I'm in no way, shape or form like an angry person, you know, but if you do my job. And you don't get irritated by certain points of it, right? There's something wrong with you.

There has been much colluding between @tachyon-omlette and I regarding our OCs, Sandman and Eda of Unicron (as well as Eda's brothers Ethos and Logos)
And such colluding has resulted in Sandman kinda. EATING Sideways (as well as being recreated as a Unicronian Transformer thanks to Eda)
He's been dilfified. Grandpafication. He's also now haunted by Every Single Thing Sideways has done in the past and Boy That's Not Good For Sandman's Mental Health. But hey at least Ethos is kept in line. Mostly.
