It’s honestly smth I sort of denied- I always said Starflight (who is still one of my favs) but I think if I had to choose over EVERYONE it’d have to be Darkstalker. Tho it’s a really hard decision because there’s so many I like - I have to reread the series too

I don’t have anything profound to justify liking Darkstalker. I think he’s just a super fun concept (why I recreated it like twice now), and he was fun to read abt despite some things I wish were different. His book was my absolute favorite in the entire series. Yea!

suna rintarou’s voice is a warm, amused caress tucked into the curve between your shoulder and neck, a stark contrast to the cool surface of the black hatchback you’re currently pressed up against.

it’s dark outside, quiet save for the sound of gravel shifting beneath suna’s boots and the stray chitters of insects off in the near distance.

“now who said i’d let either of those two fuck me?” you ask, delighting in the thin thread of jealousy that weaves its way into his words. 

suna’s breath is hot against your collarbone, skin exposed by the thin straps of your sundress. his hands sink a little deeper into the plush skin of your hips, fingers stretching like a cat with the way it gives beneath his touch. 

“i’ve never brought anyone here,” suna murmurs, kissing his way up the side of your neck.

you try to ignore the implication behind his words, like the fact that he brought you to this little lookout above the city is supposed to be romantic. 

“sounds like something a serial killer would say,” you reply flippantly, ignoring the way your insides quiver as he gets down on his knees and pushes up your dress high enough to expose your stomach, pressing a line of kisses just above the waistband of your underwear.

suna looks up at you, amusement etched clear across his face even in the relative darkness. “i think we both know you’d probably be the one killing me.”

he gently traces his thumb over your clothed slit, and you shudder.

you reach down, fingers threading through his hair and enjoying the way he tilts his head into your touch far more than you should. “brave of you to drive to your own death.”

I kinda just love how Tim goes by Cardinal? I’m definitely reading way too far into this but the fact that he picked the reddest fucking bird ever seen. Absolute nonsensical but like the fact that Tim sees every death as his fault because he has the knowledge to stop it and still failed, like with his parents. How even after coming so far back in time he can’t fix everything?? The blood on his hands, the blood he feels practically drowned in? How that’s reflected in Cardinal? The red of the bird like the red on the back of his eyelids, how he’s haunted by mistake he failed to fix? I need to throw out my instant coffee

Though if you're asking- honestly?? There are many reasons but the main points boil down to A. I liked the red bird aesthetic for Tim and B. I just really like Cardinals- I grew up seeing them everywhere, always present. Their cry felt like home, and when i talk so much about Gotham as a living breathing city (shout out Victor Hugo my love) it felt right.

Also theres also the Cardinal Flower in New Jersey (aka Gotham state) that symbolizes Distinction which is a big theme of my fic for sure
