The Letter (Part 2) (Edmund Pevensie x reader)

Dear Ed,

You are an inconsiderate prick. You can’t just leave a girl with no warning. If you wanted to break up with me you could’ve done it over a letter or something instead of being a coward and dropping off the face of the Earth.

Obviously, I’m mad. Did you think I wouldn’t? Actually mad isn’t the right word; I am livid.

Underneath all this rage is mostly just heartache though. Where are you, Edmund?

Why would you leave all of Narnia? It wasn’t like you weren’t happy ruling. I know you well enough to know what you’re like when you’re happy and for the last couple of years, I have never seen you happier.

Even if you weren’t, but that’s not possible (right?), why would your siblings leave? Oh Aslan, what if you guys died!

Really, what if you did? What would I do without Lucy, always making flower crowns and trying her hardest to lock us together in a closet; Susan, getting upset that I have straw in my hair from being in the stables for too long and playing with my hair whenever she needed to calm down; and Peter, always being the big brother and trying to get me to get on the Splendor Hyaline although he knows that I’m deathly afraid of boats.

Eyes. I miss your eyes. The deep dark brown that can swallow you whole if you stare in them too long is like oxygen to me. And now look, I’m suffocating.

Memories don’t want to leave me alone for some stupid reason. I don’t want to remember. I don’t want to cry anymore.

Your early morning/ late night thoughts were my favorite. You would come up with little things like, “What if all the vegetables have souls?” and, my personal favorite, “What if birds aren’t singing, they’re screaming?” Dammit, I’m remembering.

Even going to one of Lucy and Susans’ balls would be fun right now. I would be able to witness that stupid look you get on your face when you try to talk to girls. I think it’s mostly made of discomfort though.

Verifying my feelings for you took forever. At first, I thought the flutters in my stomach I got from watching you spend hours trying to get me to smile at only god knows what hour in the morning was the beginning stages of the stomach flu. Then, I watched as that lady from Archenland kissed you in the garden and I wanted to rip her head off. That was probably was one of our more heated rows. What would I give to fight with you again?

Ensuring Narnia’s safety should be my number one priority right now. For some reason, everyone keeps on looking to me for guidance. They think that because I was, am, so close to you guys I would be a great leader. I don’t know if I can do that.

Really, the oddest thing about this whole ordeal is that I haven’t started screaming yet. When Mr. Tummnus came into the library and told me that you had gone missing I didn’t cry. The only thing I could do was breathe and ask what was need of me. I think I was numb for the last month. But look, I’m mad at you so feeling must be returning.

You would know exactly what to say right now. You would say, “If everything happens to go to hell tomorrow, at least I made you smile today.” Then you would wrap your arms around me and we stay like that for hours.

The smell of your hair is like a wonderful cross between oak wood and the Earth after heavy rain. For some reason every time I would say that you would bury your face deep into my neck and mutter something under your breath. Why did you do that and what did you say?

Hearing the sound of the piano is like a punch to gut. I loved watching you play in the astronomy tower. It took five weeks to convince the staff to move it there because they didn’t quite understand the intoxicating effect of music and moonlight. You got me addicted to it.

I’ve given up on trying to stop the memories. Just thinking about those stolen nights is causing a tear in my heart to rip open. I didn’t tell you that I love you enough.

Not going on that hunting trip was the biggest mistake of my life. I was so tired from the weeks of preparing for the announcement of Peter and Lilliths’ engagement that a simple hunting trip sounded like sleighing a dragon. My last memory of you is that smile you shot over your shoulder as you rode away. I can’t believe I let you go.

Giant armies are gathering in the south. I’ll charge into the battle thinking of you. I have to go now. I’ll protect Narnia for you; I promise

honestly everything from nothing changed but everything’s different. I worked SO hard on those it’s insane. but... in part two I’m especially proud of this paragraph:
