🌸Random Acts of Kindness Event: celebrate your favourite creators!🌸

It is not a secret that fandom, aside from being a space to discuss your favourite stories and make friends, is a space where many creators thrive, bringing your favourite characters to life in fanmade stories, edits, drawings, and more. More often than not, creators, having spent countless hours and nerves on their creations, have to be satisfied with only a few likes, and - let's be honest - everyone loves feedback (especially the good kind - which is what we want to focus on today). Hence, the idea to host this small and quick event.

For the next 24 hours we will host the Random Acts of Kindness Event to facilitate spreading love in the fandom.

If you appreciate someone taking their time to share their fanfiction, drawings, edits, web weaves, moodboards, theories and more, here's what you can do:

✨ Make a post praising and/or thanking your favourite creators, perhaps even listing your favourite creations and saying what you love the most about them, and tag them if you'd like. We'll be reblogging these posts to help boost visibility and maybe introduce some folks to new favourite artists, editors, and writers!

💌Feeling shy? Prefer to stay anonymous? No problem! Send us an anonymous ask with your kind words, and we'll post them for you. Your favourite creators will still get to see the appreciation, no pressure needed.

↳ Random Acts of Kindness Event ദ്ദി(｡•̀ ,)~✩‧₊

as part of the Random Acts of Kindness Event by the @rc-catalog I want to take a moment to appreciate @secret-fungi's writing !! It truly is no secret that I absolutely adore their writing. The first time I read a fic by them (Under the orchid tree) I genuinely lost my mind. I cannot tell you the last time a fanfiction made me feel That much. I was on the way to school and it was all I could think about. It satisfied my DevRam demons 10/10 would recommend and would ask aliens to erase my memory so I could read it again.

Fungi has the incredible skills of taking small moments, small scenes, mondane things and turn them into so much bigger. Sometimes, most of the times, when I read her fics I find myself taking notes, in absolute awe at the way her prose glides so smoothly. If you don't believe in love, you just not have read her writing and I stand by that. If you’ve ever had the privilege of reading Fungi’s work, you’ll know what I mean when I say that she has a magical gift. It's as if the characters and stories have always been there, waiting to be discovered. It’s the kind of writing that makes you stop, reread a sentence, and just stare at the beauty of it. The way she uses metaphors, personification and analogies drives me insane !!! It's so good and I don't have words to explain it cause she leaves me speechless 😔 Having had the privilege of her writing fanfictions for me, let me just say I cried so much 😌

I truly cannot sing Fungi’s praises enough. Her talent is unparalleled, and the way she so effortlessly brings her characters and stories to life is something I will always be in awe of. If you haven’t had the pleasure of reading her work yet, I urge you to do so because boy you are missing out.

A Random Act of Kindness (RAK) is something that you do for another person, without any expectation of a return. It is an altruistic act intended to make the world better in a small or big way. The act doesn’t require a thank you or acknowledgement in any form from the person receiving the act of kindness.

Being kind is literally good for you! Scientifically, being kind makes you feel better and is even better for your physical wellbeing. In a post-pandemic world, tackling social isolation and loneliness is high on the agenda for many, and RAK is an accessible route to addressing these issues through social and cooperative action. Humans are hardwired to be social animals and a little bit of kindness between us just makes the world a better place.

We printed these postcards with our new LEGO printing set, a funny and easy way to shape visual messages, as well as a chance to feel like playing kids again : )

Each participant of our workshop designed a postcard around the topic of „connection“, „love“, and „kindness“.

A simple flower is a representation of a gift, of beauty offering herself to the world.

A heart is the universal symbol of love, but also is what makes us all human, all the same, all one.

The roots of a tree are infinite connections that grows beneath us, rooting us down to the earth, remembering we all come from one seed.

On the back of the postcards we all wrote a RANDOM MESSAGE OF KINDNESS : )

We will leave these postcards around the city. Who will find them?

It does not matter. What matters, is the love we put in.

A random act of kindness. I never get flowers. The last time I got flowers was from my father in 2005 before he died. I am secretly hoping that maybe they could be a sign from the Universe that everything will be ok. I appreciate them regardless.
