Marcia always appreciated her university’s foreign exchange program, even though she hadn’t had a chance to directly participate. At least, that was the case until an exchange student from France moved in across the hall. 

Initially, they would just share casual conversation in passing, but it developed to seeking each other out to talk, to ask and learn about each other’s cultures. The student, Nicky, in particular had taken an interest in the classic Americana aesthetic and went as far as bringing it up to Marcia in one of their chats.

Her eyes lit up. “Oh! I know just the place,” she beamed, taking Nicky’s hand. “Come with me, you’re gonna love it.”

Nicky decided not to question her, smiling in anticipation as she followed her lead.

Marcia led her down a few city blocks before stopping at a fifties themed diner. She guided her inside and into one of the booths. “This is what you were talking about, right?”

“Yes!” She nodded enthusiastically. “It’s like Grease!”

She giggled, happy to not be the only one making musical theater references. “Yeah, exactly.” When the waitress arrived, Marcia took the lead and ordered a few diner staples, figuring something Nicky would like would be in the mix. 

The first thing the waitress brought to the table was a large milkshake, placing it in the center of the table and setting two long straws beside it. While Marcia unwrapped the straws and put them in the glass, Nicky watched in awe, remarking, “god, you could bathe in that.”

“There are individual ones, I just thought this would be more fun,” Marcia admitted, leaning forward to take a sip and gesturing for her to do the same.

“It’s delicious,” she replied after tasting it. “Though it feels more like a date, doing it this way.” She tilted her head, a slight smirk tugging at her lips. “Was that part of your plan? It’s very cute, though you could have just asked.”

Her face turned bright red at the accusation. “O-Oh I didn’t… I mean not that I wouldn’t… Um, I mean…” She took a deep breath as she tried to find her words. “I hadn’t thought this out at all, but if you’re interested, I’m certainly not going to argue.”

“Then it’s a date,” Nicky shrugged, leaving Marcia to wonder how it could really be that simple.

I'm working on a spreadsheet that generates random combinations of transformers from the list of all the transformers (minus a blocklist of nope) and it sure does throw some wild combinations

I've called it a random ship generator but tbh it could be groups of bots for any reason

tbh most of the results I have no idea who these bots are but its fun anyway

rex's powers are bio-mechanical, while ben's is bio-organic (something like that)

rex can manipulate devices, while ben power is in the device

adds the fact that rex's symbol is a gear while ben's symbol is a watch

rex's is red while ben's green, literally the opposite of the color wheel

they both have themes of humanity and technology

they both have the responsibility to protect the world with their powers at a young age, they are both actually child soldiers

despite that their lives are completely different from one another

Okay my hopes for Charley/Yuri are actually so fucking high because I just need them to be a thing!!! Something good, something sweet, something happy!! “I can’t believe you’ve never had a sleepover before,” Mirage remarked as she led her friend through her apartment and into her bedroom. “Were you homeschooled or something?”

Jasmine laughed and shook her head. “No, but I didn’t want to have sleepovers with the boys and none of my friend’s parents wanted a ‘boy’ sleeping over.”

She winced, momentarily forgetting that she didn’t have the typical teen girl experience. “Shit, right, my bad, sorry.”

“Hey, all I’m getting is that you forgot I played the role of ‘boy’ for the first eighteen years of my life. A win is a win,” she shrugged, kicking off her shoes and sitting cross-legged on the bed. “So, what do we do? Braid each other’s hair? Talk about crushes?”

Mirage swallowed thickly, hoping to avoid the topic of crushes at all costs and that Jasmine wouldn’t question why. “Well, this is a grown up sleep over so whatever we do,” she reached into her oversized purse and pulled out a bottle of tequila, “we do it drunk.”

“I like sleepovers already,” Jasmine giggled.

They spent the first part of their night drinking, gossiping, and watching bad movies. It was a little after midnight when Jasmine asked, “is it true what they say happens at girls’ sleepovers?”

She tilted her head curiously. “That depends. What do they say?”

“That girls use it as an opportunity to ‘practice kissing’.”

Mirage couldn’t help but laugh. “Yeah, I used that excuse a lot in high school,” she recalled, then arched her brow. “Why, are you offering?”

Jasmine shrugged, twirling her hair around her finger. “I’m just saying I’m a little rusty, I could probably stand for some practice.”

She realized then that she didn’t have to worry about being asked about crushes, she could convey that answer in a different way entirely. “C’mere, Jazzy. I’ll give you all the practice you need.”
