Named this one ‘Oodles’ because it was oodles of work, multiple layers and multiple color schemes. 5x7 Alcohol ink on aluminum on canvas board. Piñata, Ranger and Brea inks. Sometimes it works out this way. I come back to a piece over and over to work on it. Some dissatisfaction that makes me want to improve it but not totally destroy all of it. When it’s ‘right’, I suddenly just ‘know.’

I painted this piece a couple months ago and as soon as I finished it, the swirls of green and gold reminded me of a wicked wizard casting a spell across an ominous, dark sky! ¡Hola 👋! 20 de julio y eso significa que Instagram se llena de proyectos maléficos del reto mensual #tuversionconnatiller organizado por @natiller2.0. Este mes la propuesta es hacer una mini tarjeta teniendo como foco principal un sello de Maléfica y he usado un digi de @lascajitasdeelvi coloreado con rotuladores Ohuhu. Para hacer el fondo de la tarjeta, debíamos usar los colores verde y morado así que las tintas Distress Dusty Concord y Moved Lawn me han venido se maravilla ;-). This is one I created earlier this year but never posted. This is a wet on wet alcohol ink. 11x14 on Yupo paper. I love the lightness and ethereal quality of this work. It sprang to life very quickly- so the temptation is to ‘work’ harder on a piece but then you may end up destroying some magic. Alcohol Inks have a life force that moves and feels alive. Fun to watch. Like life.
