[Image ID: On a square, plastic tray, someone uses various stencils and alcohol ink pads to create three different designs. All of them are polka-dotted designs with a 70s or retro feel to them. The first uses multiple shades of yellow and orange, then pink. The tray is shown being cleaned off in between the first and second cards. The second card features dark pink, light blue, dark blue, and a blue-ish purple. The third card uses light blue, dark blue, yellow, and green. The designs create a sort of blurred or ring effect. Or "Melkor sings the dissonance"
This is 2 of 3 of the Melkor series that I entered into a art show/competition (I'm not expecting this to win but I'll be glad if it gets a place in the show)
A little info bout the piece:
In this Melkor is "Part of the world" aka he's Not in a separate piece of paper like in the last one, as he's literally creating it in his own image, completely ignoring Erus vision
I wanted to Show the chaos that is Melkor song which is why I went about it with alcohol inks; even at the best of times they're difficult to control and they "corrupt" all the other colors that they touch so as a medium they were Perfect for depicting the discord in action
just a little tidbit: My color-scheme for Melkor is Purple, gold and black. All the aforementioned color are present in his design with the Black hair, Purple eyes, grey skin with Purple undertone and Gold blood. Even tho I may dress him up in many different colors I will ALWAYS use his colors when designing him his "regalia" etc
Hello! My name is Sabine and I have color-feeling synesthesia (along with some other types). I paint mini paintings using alcohol based inks on Yupo.
Anyway, yesterday I was going through the truly enormous collection of feelings I have painted and I found this one. It’s no longer Chanukah but this was too cool to not share.
Alternative title: "All The Seasons Ive Ever Seen All At Once"
Alcohol Ink and Vodka on Paper.
I spent most of this summer with my new girlfriend, and she took me to this place that is very important to her. Of course I painted it. It's beautiful, we spent hours sitting in there with each other.
The finished painting is done in alcohol ink and vodka.
This means it wont last, in its current form. The colours are going to fade and change.
Just like the relationship that inpired it, right now it is new and bring and colourful, and I am dearly looking forward to watching it change and develop into something we can't predict.
One day, this version of this piece will only be avalible in print form. Which is kind of like how the early stages of a relationship often only exist in photos.
16” x 20” Mixed media collage on canvas
I’m still floating on air after seeing my favorite band in concert the other night, that’s when this mixed media collage came together.
If you’ve followed me for any amount of time you know I love The National, I see them every chance I get. They played at Cal Coast Open Air Amphitheater on the campus of San Diego State University, which happens to be one…
I don’t know if I’ve ever felt so seen as I did watching the remake of Heartbreak High! They did such an amazing job on all the characters, the representation is amazing 😍
Or "Eru creates Melkor"
This is 1 of 3 of the Melkor series that I entered into a art show/competition (I'm not expecting this to win but I'll be glad if it gets a place in the show)
A little info bout the piece:
I hc Melkors "blood" to be gold because 1. He was created first (Manwës color is silver cuz he was second) and was Erus Golden boy 2. He's basically marring Arda by kintsugi/Kintsukuroi which is why gold is so abundant and there are literal Veins of it running all through Arda. Hence why Melkor is golden in the picture
I also hc that unlike the other Ainur Melkor shines in ultraviolet, but I could not ask the people of the show to set up a black light just for my piece so I went about it differently and used shifting purple acrylic paint and alcoholic ink with brilliant diamond sparkle to fabricate the ultraviolet
Those who are familiar with my Melkor design might ask "why isn't his hair black in this picture" and the answer to that is very Simple: this was his original hair color: Shimmering in all the colors of the rainbow, but as Melkor loved light So Much that he wanted it all to himself he transformed his hair to become So black that it ABSORBS light (which is why I never draw any shine to it and only use Matt black acrylic when painting it)
Oh and Melkor was drawn on a separate piece of paper and I used double-sided tape to attach him to the picture to further the narrative that he's not, and never will be, part of Erus "perfect" world
