silly prompt idea even if November's already over: your choice of companions and their response to No Nut November? like whether they'd actually try it or their reactions to the games respective MC trying it. interpret it however you want
FNV Companions (+Yes Man, Victor, and Benny) Responses to No Nut November
➼ Word Count » 0.8k ➼ Warnings » MDNI ➼ Genre » Romantic, NSFW ➼ A/N » I had to cut out three of them, so I added 3 random ones! Hope you don't mind!
First off, Boone thinks you're stupid. There are so many things going on in the Mojave and you want to... not cum? Are your priorities questionable? Sure, but he'll follow along if you insist. He manages to make it the whole month, with no sweat. He's not an incredibly horny guy, to begin with, so it's mostly just him doing what he's always done. Even if you decide you're done with the challenge, he won't budge. 10/10, not only is he a team player, but he dominates the competition. Not literally (he's got a contest to win), but you get the idea.
"This was your idea. Stick with it."
Arcade gets a bit flustered when you ask him. When you said you had something you needed to talk to him about, this was the last thing he expected. He's not all that bad at it. He's got an occasional urge, but he's a focused man and can shut it down just as quickly as it comes. Although he was embarrassed at first, he gets confident throughout the rest of the month and will tease you to try and get you to lose. 7/10, he passes it with only a few issues and he's not above edging you on to get you to fail before him.
"You seem bothered. I can fix that, you know."
Raul chuckles at the idea. He's not hard to convince. It's not like he's got anything better to do, so why not. Raul doesn't have much trouble actually completing the challenge. He's old and too tired to do things like that frequently anyway, and he knows that's the case. So, instead, he tries to do everything in his power to get you to lose. He's like Arcade but way worse. He'll rasp into your ear more often, touch you for much longer than he needs to, or get right in your face in an attempt to make you flustered. 5/10, he's against you from the start.
"Don't know what you're talking 'bout, boss. I've always stood this close. Really."
Cass has heard of No Nut November before and has already tried it out a couple of times (with varying outcomes), so it's safe to say she'd be willing to try it out again with you. She thinks it could be fun, especially if you allow her to mix a few drinks into the picture. She'd love to see how long she'd last but if you get a few bottles of whiskey into her system, she'll be clinging to your shoulder and asking to fuck. 2/10, she tires?? I guess??
"Who said we couldn't take a couple of breaks? It's not like either of us are actually counting."
Veronica's never heard of it before, but she'd be lying if she said it didn't pique her interest in some way. She's curious about how difficult it's actually got to be, and to her surprise (and slight disappointment), she finds it to be easy. Veronica has incredible amounts of self-control when it comes to sex and masturbation, so she never really viewed it as a challenge. However, just because she finds it easy, doesn't mean she won't cheer you on. 10/10, she passes and makes you pass as well, there's no one better you could ask.
"Only a few days left! This'll be easy! :)"
Yes Man will be as enthusiastic as ever. Of course, he'll participate! There's nothing he'd like more than doing something with you. He struggles quite a bit when it comes to making it through the month, and probably won't make it, but he sure does try! And even if he loses early on, he'd gladly help you complete it on your own. 5/10, helps everyone but himself.
"Forget about me, I have full confidence in your ability!"
Victor has never been more confused in his life. What the hell does that even mean? He supposes he'll try it out, mostly because he doesn't know what's happening, but he's still willing to give it a shot. The only way Victor fails is if you fail. He only masturbates twice a year, and if he were to have sex, it'd be with you. And if you're offering, there's never a moment when he'd deny it. 7/10, could win but it solely depends on you're drive to complete it.
"Say that again, doll? What's it you want me t'do?"
Benny is utterly appalled. Why would he want to do something so silly? What’s even the point? He’s got you, this challenge couldn’t possibly hold. So when he hears that you’ve taken it upon yourself to actively participate, he’s at a loss. He doesn’t want to look like a chump in front of you, but at the same time, you can’t actually be serious. A month? Are you sure? He’s, by no means, a team player. 0/10 failed immediately and didn’t even try.
“C’mon, baby, rethink it, won’t you? You couldn’t really go the whole month without me, could you?”

[ Heavily inspired by this AO3 Fanfiction]
It was a relatively slow day at the Lucky 38. Well, as slow as things can be around here. You’d sent Yes Man out on a small quest on your behalf; getting rid of some remaining Caeser’s Legion members hiding out in Freeside.
It wouldn’t be even remotely challenging for the both of you, especially compared to the other things you’d fought in the wasteland. Compared to an army of charging Deathclaws, a couple of Rome cosplayers were trivially easy to deal with. So, you sent Yes Man out by himself. It would simply be more efficient.

PICKING OFF STRAGGLERS
Ah, speak of the devil.
Almost like clockwork, the doors to the Lucky 38 swung open, a blood-soaked Yes Man entering the building. Needless to say from his now crimson chassis, the mission was a success.
“Hello Courier! I’m glad to say the last few members of Caeser’s Legion have been properly dealt with!”
“I could tell. You might want to clean yourself off, bud. Dried blood doesn’t come out too easily.”
Yes Man inspected his dark red chassis, examining his arms, coated in dried blood.
“That sounds like a great idea!”
Yes Man began to make his way to a backroom in the Lucky 38, when he suddenly paused, and turned to face you.
“Oh, I almost forgot! On the way, I also paid a visit to Mick & Ralph’s!”
A hidden compartment revealed itself on Yes Man’s chassis with a satisfying hiss and click, as he reached inside, unveiling a slightly rusted holodisk. It looked fairly normal on the outside, only with a small label plastered on; ‘From, Ralph’.
“A man in a Buffalo Check shirt gave me this; he told me he’d ‘heard about how things turned out for you’ and asked me to help him deliver this! I’m not sure what it does, but boy, does it sound interesting!”
“Interesting, indeed. I’ll have Raul take a look at this.”
“That sounds like a great idea! Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to be thoroughly scrubbed down! Really, really thoroughly!”

TALK TO RAUL
“Hey boss, how can I help ya?”
You passed over the holodisk, placing it gently on his desk.
“Could you help me take a look at this?”
“Sure thing. I’ll see what I can do.”
He delicately picked up the holodisk, examining it closely. Inspecting the label, still on the device.
“Ah, from Mick & Ralph’s, I see.”
Raul lightly dusted the holodisk, before loading it into the personal terminal located on his desk. With a few swift clicks on his keyboard, the screen lit up, green text rapidly loading onto the display. He read the gibberish on the screen carefully, like it was a language only he could understand.
“Luckily for me, it ain’t some kind of malware.”
“Then, what is it?”
“It looks like some package of code intended for Securitrons. It’s not even anything major by the looks of it, just changes up some button inputs.”
Raul scrolled through the brief paragraph of code, discovering more text, this time actually understandable, product information, it seemed. Raul read through it thoroughly, scoffing when he finished. He rotated the terminal, facing the CRT monitor towards you.
“Boss, they wrote down what this thing does right here. Come and take a look, I think you’ll be… interested.”

INSTALL THE DISK
“Courier, are you sure about this?”
“Yes Man, I promise you; this holodisk won’t affect your personality in any way, and if you feel otherwise, you can always tell me to stop. You had that personality upgrade installed for a reason, right?”
“I-I’m not telling you to stop! I just sure hope you know what you’re doing, because you aren’t, this Securitron body may self-destruct! And that would be bad, really bad.”
“Trust me, I know what I’m doing.”
You carefully installed the holodisk. Yes Man’s, unlike other Securitrons, circuits were haphazardly placed all over the inside of his chassis. Whatever Benny did to him, he sure did it messily. Eventually, however, after working through piles of unsorted wires and mismatched machinery, the disk was installed. With a brief system reboot, Yes Man had been successfully updated.

UPGRADE PLAYTEST
“Hm, that’s odd. I don’t feel any different. Or explosive. Well, that’s a good sign!”
“Not so fast, Yes Man. There’s still one more thing I need to do. I need to see if the upgrade works as intended.” “Sounds interesting! How may I help you with that?”
“Don’t worry, just stand still. You’ll find out what that holodisk does very, very soon.”
Gently, you lead your hand towards Yes Man’s keypad. You deftly place a finger on a key, pressing it before he had a chance to react.
“O-oh!”
“How was it?”
“D-do that again…please?”
“Sure thing, big guy.”
Click!
“A-ah!”
Click!
“Ngh-!”
Click!
“M-mph!”
Yes Man was losing his composure more and more with each deft click, his antenna spinning rapidly and a cool layer of condensation forming on his display. Of course, how could he have forgotten, Mick & Ralph’s had experience working on robots before with Fisto, didn’t they? Of course their idea of an upgrade would be… this.
Not that he was complaining, though.
“W-wow! That feels really, really good…”
You carelessly push a few buttons all at once.
“H-Hah-!”
There you go, just let me hear those beautiful noises.
“O-oh! S-six!”
You decide to go all in, discarding any resemblance of self-control. Using and holding as many keys as your fingers could reach.
“O-oh my-y-!”
“Having fun, bud?”
“I-I love you I love you I love you-!”
"I'll take that as a yes."
Yes Man’s vocal processor was being pushed to its limits, the audio scratched and staticy as Yes Man wore his metaphorical throat out singing moans of pleasure, screaming to the heavens above. His display was drenched in condensation as water droplets visibly dripped down his chassis. The tornado-like buzz of cooling fans were the only other audible noise amongst the squeals of pure ecstasy.
“Y-you’re my everything-g-g-g-!”
“Glad to hear it. You ready?”
“P-p-please!” Silly boy, his processors were already turning into melted plastic from the overstimulation.
“I’ll just press one more button, alright?”
“P-please please please please-!”

CRASH LANDING
“Yes Man? You there, bud?”
“W-what?”
“Oh thank god, you’re still alive.”
“Oh, hello Courier!”
Yes Man scanned his surroundings, having woken up on the floor of Raul’s workshop. His circuits were exposed, connected by several multi-coloured wires to a terminal being manned by the mechanic himself. He must’ve crashed.
“Luckily for you, your main circuits aren’t badly damaged. You just blew a few fuses.”
“Wow! That was… sure some upgrade!”
“Some upgrade, indeed.”
You deftly place a hand on his keypad, with a touch so feathery light that it didn’t manage to push down on any of the keys, but merely tease him with the warmth radiating for your hand. A sensation he could barely even feel, but felt so, so good.
“So, how about a round two?”
“Y-yes please!”
Raul scoffs, turning off his terminal and unplugging the several cords connected to it. He lifts himself out of his chair with a grunt, and makes his way to the door.
“I’ll let you two do your thing then, boss.”

New Vegas companions react to a teenage courier?
Another super late post from me (I'm so sorry lmao) but better late than never! I've already said this but I love reading/writing for Teen!Sole/Courier - my courier oc is actually nineteen during the events on New Vegas so stuff like this helps with developing her too! <33
//
Companions React to Teen!Courier
(Includes: Arcade, Boone, Cass, Lily, Raul and Veronica)
Arcade
Straight off the bat, he's gonna have a lot more patience for a younger courier than he would an adult. He doesn't exactly have fond memories of being a teenager - but then again, who does anymore? - so he can't even begin to imagine what it must be like after what the courier had gone through. Although Arcade often prefers to avoid violence when he can, he's more than willing to resort to it when it comes to protecting the courier. However, this means he's all the more disappointed if the courier sides with the Legion, he understands they're far more impressionable and that only makes him harbour more anger towards the faction, but he'd still expected better from them.
Boone
Instantly goes into dad/big brother mode. Boone doesn't anticipate it happening, but he finds himself being much more protective over the courier than he'd like to be. He'd been so excited to be a father before Carla's death and in a strange way, the courier feels like a second chance. He won't mention it, of course, especially not at first, but he'll show that he cares in little ways like making sure Six has a larger portion of the rations than he does or by protecting them from danger before he even considers himself. Boone doesn't want to overstep, nor does he really feel comfortable talking about it, so he'll never bring up how much he cares, he just hopes the courier knows he'll protect them no matter what happens.
Cass
It doesn't make a complete difference to Cass. Of course, she's even more outraged over what Benny did to Six, finding their attempted murder horrific in general, but even more so when it's apparent the courier isn't even eighteen. While Boone takes on a paternal role, Cass quickly becomes an older sister and terrible influence all rolled into one. She'll offer Six whiskey to try, although she knows chances are they've already drank alcohol before - God knows she'd sampled enough as a teenager. She's always willing to give them advice, granted she knows it's not always the best and most moral advice, but she's doing her best regardless.
Lily
Honestly, not much about Lily's relationship with Six would change, even if they were a teenager. She takes her role as their grandma as seriously as ever, refusing to see any harm come to the courier. With Six being even closer in age to her Jimmy and Becky, it sometimes makes it even harder than it usually would for her to remember she's not actually talking to her grandchildren. She's just grateful that the courier is patient with her, even if she isn't the perfect grandma sometimes.
Raul
It's hard for Raul to not be reminded of Rafaela and Claudia when he first meets the courier - regardless of their gender. Almost similarly to Boone, he sees them as a chance to do better and actually protect someone for once (third times the charm, right?) He manages to play it off with sarcasm and quick wit, but he truly does care for Six and he wants what's best for them. Perhaps he won't always agree with their choices and he makes a point to voice that when it's the case, but there's never a day he won't stand by them. He refuses to lose someone a third time.
Veronica
She's actually really excited to meet the teenaged courier. When with the Brotherhood of Steel, Veronica would love spending time with the squires, constantly being reprimanded for distracting them from their work - sure, Six is a little bit older, but she doesn't mind. But now? She doesn't have to worry about her commanding officers telling her to buzz off, she can spend all the time with them that she wants, if they're willing to put up with her. She's definitely a better influence than Cass, or at least she tries to be, but she knows showing Six how to cheat at poker probably wasn't the best idea. Veronica will also insist that she'll deal with Benny herself, but she knows better than to get in the way of the courier and their revenge.

6, 8, and 35 for the courier asks :)
Thank you for the ask!! (prompts here)
6. What are their perks?
Mercury's main perks are Confirmed Bachelor, Scrounger, Terrifying Presence, and Light Step. Other than that it kinda depends on the playthrough.
8. Any romantic partners? how do these relationships begin and end? are they healthy?
Backstory wise, I haven't really thought about it much. I feel like he'd try to have relationships but it was hard to maintain due to his mercenary and courier work taking him all over the place, so he mostly just did hookups.
I do think Mercury gets with Arcade though. Also/or Benny maybe. You have infected me with the Benny x Courier brainworms.
35. What do their companions think of them? are they close? have they done any companion quests?
Between my first playthrough and now I've been reworking Mercury a bit (I need to do a replay now that I'm thinking about it) so I'm not quite as sure how they'd get along in-game but here's by best guess
Arcade and Mercury get along pretty well (thank you Confirmed Bachelor) but Mercury is so very dumb. Also since playing I've given Mercury a stim addiction that he keeps relapsing into so that definitely causes problems between them.
Boone and Mercury were pretty chill. Never took him out enough to get his companion quest though. I did have once during G.I. Blues where I wasn't thinking and accidentally killed the NCR soldiers. Which Boone got so pissed about and got me so nervous I reloaded a save and lost an hour and a half of progress. Other than that they get along well. I think his Legion-y name was a bit of a turn-off at first though.
Lily I didn't recruit until late game so I never got to know her that well, but I think her and Mercury would get along well.
Raul was also recruited pretty late game so I can't say much for him either. I'm coming for you next playthrough don't worry.
Cass and Mercury don't have much going on. I usually try to recruit all companions in every game I play but I think Cass' demeanor puts off Mercury enough that I don't even know if he'd recruit her. Probably once he reaches the strip he'd go back for her but who knows.
Veronica and Mercury are besties. The two definitely encourage each other way too much in antics but it's whatever, y'know? Working with the Brotherhood of Steel went so smooth that I didn't even know about the bomb-collar thing my first run.
ED-E is Mercury's favorite little guy. They tend to notice things before he does which is really nice because Mercury would be so dead without him. Arcade doesn't really like them though but he can deal with it.
Rex does not like Mercury, which sucks because he loves dogs but he refuses to take off his hat outside. He sunburns way too easily.

Companions reaction to Courier being really good at sniping
I’m adding a few people from either DLC’s or just ones we were robbed of in-game. It’s most likely going to be like that for all my preferences
———
Arcade≈
“And here I thought you were just a mail man/woman”
He’s a bit surprised, but already knew that you were capable of some things he didn’t know possible. Like that one time you manage to impress the absolute shit out of him by shoving a broc flower and xander root into an empty syringe, then stabbing yourself, calling the item a ‘stimpak’
Boone≈
“Whoever can shoot the furthest Legionary wins”
Boone take it as competition, and whenever you kneel or lay down to snipe, he right beside you doing as well. He’ll ask where you’re aiming and be on the same target, watching your hidden talent come to life. If he’s romanced, then what better way than to stay late out at night in Dino, sniping a few slavers as they walk pass?
Cass≈
“Well I’ll be damned. Bet you can’t do it while downing a bottle of whiskey before though”
She’s impressed alright, but she’ll be over the moon if you can still have that good shot on your targets if you’re drunk. She may even give you another bottle if you manage to kill each and every one of your enemies, then she’ll go a bit easier on you. Telling you to relax and sit down, then handing you another bottle for a reward
Raul≈
“Sure boss, your eyesight is a lot better through a scope, but close up?… y-you did good”
He’s sarcastic as ever, he wants to say what comes to mind, but with you holding a rifle in hand standing directly in front of him? He just praises you instead, not wanting to get on your bad side, or making it seem like you aren’t the greatest sniper in the Mojave. He secretly thinks you’re better than Boone
Veronica≈
“Ooh! But wouldn’t it be a lot better if you could just punch them?”
She’ll rant on and on about your hidden talent, asking you to teach her even if she’s the best with fists. She jumps from conversation to conversation, it could be about when you shot the antenna off of a mantis or that time you no scoped a gecko when she accidentally scared you about it, making you just turn and pull the trigger, you still put the poor thing down
Vulpes≈
“You still manage to show your capabilities, ones that I didn’t know of. Impressive”
He’s shocked on the inside, but on the outside, he’s blowing it off with his tough soldier act. He’ll raise a brow, wait for you to finish, and then comment. He’s spied on you before without you knowing, and not once has he seen you be so good at sniping until now. He always adds on before a mission, that you should scout ahead and take out any distracted NCR troops. He just likes seeing you at work
Ulysses≈
“I see no use of that. But if it’s for tunnelers, then I suppose so”
He couldn’t care, he’s never been one for longe ranged weaponry such as your choice of gun, but he’s open to it. As long as you don’t shoot innocent creatures, or the marked men for no reason then he’s alright with it, he’ll even look through the scope at deathclaws and mole rats who roam freely, he may even try to learn himself as well

The Lore:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(other titles specifically mentioned in the final question: Metro and Doom)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Characters headcanoned as synths: The Sole Survivor (by far the most common theory), Sturges, Deacon, Preston Garvey, the Lone Wanderer in Broken Steel, James/Dad, Dogmeat, Three Dog, Parker Quinn, Charon, Courier Six, Tinker Tom, Zeke, Arthur Maxson, Father/older Shaun, Piper, Travis Miles, Mysterious Stranger, Caesar ('cause funny'), Joshua Graham, most Children of Atom, Desdemona, Myrna, Marcy Long, Mr Burke, Vault 76 Overseer, Trashcan Carla, Cricket, many BoS and Enclave members, Reaver Movement members, Redeye, Moira Brown, Dr Zimmer, Ranger Ghost, most birds, Arcade Gannon, Elijah, Lizzie Wyatt, Kellogg, Mama Murphy, Nat Wright, and Sierra Petrovita
(please note I'm not all that familiar with Fallout 4 lore, if any of the FO4 peeps here are canon synths then I didn't know about it lol)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fan theories/headcanons from the final question that cropped up repeatedly (in approximate order of popularity):
Vault-Tec started the Great War
Alien involvement with the pre-war US government and/or the Great War
Horses are still around
Talking Deathclaws are still around
Occult/eldritch influence (e.g. the Dunwich building) is widespread
Charon is a survivor of Vault 92
Deacon is a founder of the Railroad and his 'real' backstory was another lie
Veronica and Christine reunite
Sarah Lyons is alive
Gen 3 synths and ghouls still need to eat, drink, sleep and so on
Ghouls only turn feral in specific circumstances (suggestions include prolonged isolation and relying too heavily on radiation instead of food as a source of energy) and it is not inevitable
International travel and immigration continues
Danse and Harkness were sent to the Capital Wasteland by the Railroad together
X person is actually multiple people- suggested for Deacon, Legate Lanius and Vulpes Inculta
The US is the either the only place that was nuked or the only place that hasn't rebuilt and recovered, and the rest of the world is just ignoring them and carrying on as normal
Cass is the Chosen One's daughter
Mama Murphy is the Chosen One
No-Bark Noonan is the Chosen One (lots of Chosen One theories popping up lol)
All subsequent Dogmeats in the series are named after the legend of the original Dogmeat
Father is not really Shaun
MacCready is lying about Duncan being ill (or one person even suggested Duncan existing)
Yes Man overthrows the Courier after being upgraded
The real Lone Wanderer died at the end of the vanilla game even if Broken Steel is installed, and the Broken Steel LW is a synth
Deacon once worked for the Institute
Deacon deliberately leads people to theorise that he is the Lone Wanderer to throw them off
Deacon is or was once a ghoul (also plenty of Deacon theories)
The Mysterious Stranger is a time traveller who protects the various PCs to maintain the timeline
Appalachia was turned into a barren wasteland by the nuclear trigger-happiness of the Vault 76 Dwellers (possibly interesting aside: my brother, who buys into this one, has gone as far as to theorise that the original Great War used very low-yield weapons and wasn't that severe on the environmental level (as far as literal nuclear war goes, that is), and it was the Vault 76ers nuking the hell out of Appalachia that triggered a continent-wide nuclear winter and sent the ecology of the wasteland into the state it's in in all subsequent games)
Glory is not a synth
The (in-game) reason for lore clashes and retcons is that the plot of each game is a retelling  of the story as it's passed around in the wasteland, so some details have been embellished or mixed up
I’ll be coming back to the theories from the final question at some point, but aside from that, that's a wrap! There isn't really much potential for me to play around with the data here like with the OC surveys, so this was more just me presenting the data as it came in without commentary. Still, I hope this is somehow interesting/insightful!

boone and veronica for the character questions?
Boone
1. Sexuality headcanon
Bi, but wasn’t comfortable to come out til he was older.
2. OTP
Boone x Courier Six is *chef’s kiss*. Boone x Arcade works nicely too. Boone x Manny has to be done right for me to like it, but it definitely has potential.
3. BROTP
Once again, Boone x Courier Six. I feel he’d get along with Cass and Raul pretty well too. Same thing with OTP, Manny and Boone could be good friends once again (if they work their shit out).
4. NOTP
Feels kinda of obvious, nut anything with Boone and Legion characters. Just wouldn't make sense, even if said legion character was an ex-legionnaire.
5. First headcanon that pops into my head.
Boone is the perfect person to snuggle with. Big arms, broad shoulders, this man could replace your weighted blanket.
6. Favorite line from this character.
“Damn right. You and I, we’re just a couple of problem solvers.”
7. One way in which I relate to this character.
Hella introverted. If I don’t know you, I don’t talk to you.
8. Thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character.
Nothing I can think of.
9. Cinnamon roll or problematic fave?
Everybody has something problematic about them, so he’s my fave for sure.
Veronica
1. Sexuality headcanon
Lesbian
2. OTP
I will die on the hill of Veronica x Christine x Female Courier Six.
3. BROTP
You can’t seperate her and Cass. Arcade and her would have a lot in common for them to be good friends too.
4. NOTP
Veronica x dudes.

7 Day S.P.E.C.I.A.L.
3. Essential Personnel
Starring: Courier 6 Snowflake, Craig Boone and Rex (Fallout New Vegas (as part of the Wraith in the Ruins AU))
Trigger warnings: canon violence/language/gun use/animal injury/suggestive content
 “It’s a shit gun, Snow.”
“It’ll be fine, Bubba.”
“No.” Craig Boone’s headshake was a subtle motion, almost like he was working a kink out of his neck. He held the AMR out toward the courier, “It jams.”
“You mean, ‘it has jammed’.” Snowflake gave the other man his brightest smile, “That rifle has incredible power at long range…”
“I’d do better with mine, closer…”
“Nope, I need you to stay up here. You can see into the quarry, right?”
Snowflake was on a mission to collect the head of an alpha male deathclaw as proof to Chomps Lewis that Quarry Junction was clear as well as a clutch of deathclaw eggs for the ravishing leader of The Thorn, Red Lucy. His optimistic declaration of “two birds with one stone” wasn’t sitting well with his somber companion. Especially once Snowflake had told him the plan.
“The scope is fine. I just don’t think it’s safe for you to have me so far away.”
“Bubba, if shit goes sideways, I’m gonna need room.” He held his large arms out to either side, flexing.
Boone was unimpressed, “Take Rex with you.”
The dog had been intensely sniffing at a crack in the cliffside but trotted over to Boone as soon as he heard his name. The sniper, in turn, absentmindedly shouldered the enormous rifle to reach down to pat his flank.
“Well, I can’t do that. Who’s gonna have your back if we’re both down there?”
Boone pointed over his shoulder, “The mountain.”
Snowflake frowned down at the dog, “I guess so… you wanna come with daddy and go chase some lizards?” While the dog pranced about, barking enthusiastically, the courier did a last check on his equipment.
When he saw that the courier picked up his Blade of the West, (dubbed Butter Knife) Boone frowned critically, “You’re not taking that thing with you, are you?”
“Craig Daniel Boone, please stop nagging me!” He turned away to begin his careful decent from the cliff.
“My middle name isn’t Daniel…”
“It was a joke, Bubba.”
“No. Jokes are funny.”
The plan was simple: using Stealth Boys, the courier would sneak past and count the resident deathclaws while locating the clutch of eggs. Along the way he would deploy frag mines, and then find his own perch to snipe from. They would each take one or two strategic shots to stir the reptiles up, and then eliminate the threat in relative safety. Or as Snowflake had put it, “It’ll be easy! Like shootin’ fish in a barrel.”
After politely telling the dog to stay, Snowflake activated a Stealth-Boy and crept along the narrow canyon and down into the quarry floor. He caught a whiff of deathclaw scat and followed his nose around a particularly large conveyer/excavator, laying mines as he went. Despite his earlier bravado he was still momentarily frozen when he turned a corner and came face to face with sleeping juvenile. He sucked in his breath as the beast grunted and shifted in its sleep. Satisfied that it was going to carry on in dreamland, he peered around its haunch and saw that its brethren were all in a similar repose.
Apparently, it was dragon nap time.
Finally locating the eggs, he removed his shoulder bag and carefully packed them away. As he turned to head back to the excavator he was hit with a waft of the cloying smell of death and rot. The odor was sufficient warning and he dodged to his left as an enormous, sickle-shaped claw slashed through the air; missing him by a hair’s breadth. Abandoning stealth in favor of speed he sprinted toward the conveyor in the hopes that the beast wouldn’t be able to climb up the boom after him. The deathclaw reared back and bellowed, rousing its pack to war.
Shit may have been heading in an adjacent direction.
Not only was the deathclaw able to climb the conveyor belt, it was doing so much faster than Snowflake was. Dodging on the narrow platform while the creature took swipes at him took all of his coordination and he was too hard-pressed to get off a rifle shot. At a certain point he ended up hanging underneath while it tried in vain to poke its claws through the gap between the belt and the steel frame. Glancing down, he could see a rather large gathering of the lizards forming underneath him.
“Well, doesn’t that just rot yer socks…?”
Boone sat waiting for the signal shot. Switching between the gun scope and his binoculars he was muttering to himself in frustration, “Too damn long. Can’t see anybody. Where are you?” It never occurred to him to change position. After all, the courier told him to ‘stay’.
Snowflake watched in frustration as the quarry’s full complement of deathclaws (save for his conveyer belt companion) avoided his mines and settled themselves beneath him, waiting for his arm strength to give out. He briefly considered whistling for Rex, but dismissed it just as quickly. Sure, the dog might have provided a useful distraction, but he might also be hurt and the courier would rather die than let that happen. Desperate times called for desperate measures, “Well, now that I have all y’alls attention, won’t you please consider this?” Letting go with one hand, he grabbed a frag grenade from his belt, pulled the pin with his teeth and dropped it.
Several of them leaped out of the way which triggered the mines which in turn triggered the vehicles and other machinery. Soon the entire quarry floor was flashing and shaking as one explosion after another rocked the very earth.
“Ooopsfuckingshit!”
Boone was confused by the sudden light show. This wasn’t the signal that he and the courier had discussed. The percussive blasts reaching his ears snapped him back to his task and he looked through the AMR’s scope for his first target. The clouds of dust and debris made this nearly impossible and when he finally found a deathclaw to aim for, the gun jammed. Looking down at the useless rifle and then at the hellfire of the quarry, the sniper decided that, regardless of orders, Snowflake needed him.
Throwing the gun to the ground, he half ran, half slid, down the side of the ridge. The sharp rocks rolled up the sleeve of his uniform jacket and cut his arm in the process. Ignoring the wound, he drew his combat knife and sprinted as fast as he could toward were he judged the first explosion came from.
What he saw he couldn’t fully comprehend.
There was what appeared to be a glowing one fighting the few surviving deathclaws. Leaping, spinning and dodging, it was wielding Butter Knife in an expert display of swordsmanship. Slicing at the tendons in wrist, knee and ankle, they brought down several of the beasts, rendering them helpless. Then, to Boone’s further astonishment, they brandished Snowflake’s revolver, sending shot after shot into the open mouths and eyes of the creatures.
When the alpha charged the glowing warrior, they sent out an enormous blast of radiation causing the beast to stager and rear back from the heat. Then, taking advantage of the deathclaw’s exposed throat, they made several slices in rapid succession, the last swing causing the head to come free and fly in Boone’s direction. When the sniper stepped out of the way, the glowing one saw the movement from their peripheral and raised the magnum as if to shoot.
Sudden recognition froze Boone in his tracks as he stared into the unmistakable eyes of his friend. Rather than make an attempt to evade, he threw his arms out wide and flexed his chest toward Snowflake; as if asking him to shoot.
“Boone?!” Lowering the now melting revolver, the glowing courier slammed the remains of Butter Knife into the ashen quarry floor and leaned heavily against it, “What the fuck!”
“What do you mean ‘what that fuck’? WHAT THE FUCK TO YOU?!” Suddenly angry, the sniper yelled back at his friend, “ARE YOU… what… How are you doing that!?”
“Never mind this, did you just… what were you… do you know what it would do to me if I accidentally shot you?!”
“I just thought… that if it was you… I’d be okay with it being you.” Boone was so confused and mentally turned around; he didn’t know what to do or where to look and he stood awkwardly with blood dripping from his fingers.
“I need your help! I can’t do this without you! And that’s… that is not how I want to show my love for you, Boone.”
“You… love me?”
The halo of light around Snowflake had begun to diminish. It was becoming clear that all of his clothes, hair and a good portion of his skin had burned away. Exhausted, he dropped to his knees and would have fallen over, had Boone not rushed to catch him.
The sniper took off his jacket and tucked the other man into it, “What are you talking about?!”
Snowflake smiled up at him and when he spoke, his voice, although ragged, was closer to normal, “You’re my best friend; of course I love ya. You’re my brother, Boone.”
“Oh.” The sniper gave the courier a brief squeeze and looked around at the carnage, “This got messy. Where’s Rex?”
“You wrap up your arm, take some Rad-X and go look for him. I need to just… I have to lay here a minnit.”
After about an hour, Boone returned carrying both the dog (who despite having lost both of his rear cyber limbs, seemed to be pain-free and happy) and miraculously, Snowflake’s pack.
“I’m sorry super pup! Don’t worry; I know Raul can fix you up.” Snowflake was in a fetal position, trying to fit as much of himself as possible into Boone’s coat and his voice was muffled, “Ha ha, that rhymed!”
“Are you… going to be okay?”
“Sure. This isn’t the first time this has happened, you know? Although… I’m always afraid my hair won’t grow back. Do me a favor and don’t tell anyone? People wouldn’t understand.”
“I don’t understand.”
Boone went back up the cliff to retrieve the rest of their equipment (including spare clothes for Snowflake) and then the trio spent the night huddled together. In the morning, Snowflake’s condition had much improved and had even begun to grow back skin.
“Is that where your nickname come from? Why you wear gloves? From the scars?”
“Yes and no.” The courier was surprised and a little excited that Boone would ask him such personal questions, “I wasn’t nuclear for very long yesterday and these burns are… different. It’ll take a little bit but I should regrow most of what skin I lost yesterday. No, these…” he held out his hands and gestured to his face, “are from when I was a kid and my family’s wagon hit a land mine. I wasn’t in it; was riding our big horner, Ladd, alongside. The shrapnel cut me up real bad and I burned my hands trying to pull my brother from the wreck. Other families in our caravan took pity on me and would share their food, but their kids started calling me ‘Snowflake’ on account of all my little white scars.” His smile was forced, “No two alike!”
Boone was quiet for a moment as he studied the courier’s face. When he spoke his voice was soft, “Kids can be mean. Why did you keep the nickname?”
“Well, I figured I’d steal some of their fun by ownin’ it. Sides, ‘a snowflake in the desert’ sounds romantic, right? Who doesn’t root for the underdog?”
“Right.”
“Speakin’ of dogs; which would you prefer?” He gestured to Rex and then the severed head of the alpha deathclaw, “Doggy style or head?”
Boone rolled his eyes as he gathered the dog into his arms, “I’ll carry Rex, thanks.”
“Oh, c’mon, Bubba, that was a joke!”
“No. Jokes are funny.”

Hi! If it's ok, can I request the FNV companions + Vulpes with a fem courier who is strictly a top and won't accept a submissive role no matter what? I need more top fem courier in my life.
(Also, you can exclude Arcade since he's gay and I respect his sexuality).
FNV Companions (+Vulpes) With a Top F!Courier
➼ Word Count » 0.7k ➼ Warnings » Misogyny, MDNI ➼ Genre » NSFW, Romantic ➼ A/N » UGHH top fems give me life, Nonnie, thank you
Boone loves being with a top in bed and has no problem allowing someone to take control of him during sex. Just as he's not much of a talker, he's also not always much of a dom. So, when he finds someone who can naturally take the lead, he's about ready to fall head over heels for them. Boone considers himself a switch, but he turns to putty whenever he can find a woman willing to take the initiative and boss him around. He has no issue being able to sit back and do as you command and would almost beg you to do so. It just feels natural to him, considering he's a veteran. Taking orders is what's familiar to him, and he has no issue admitting it.
Raul doesn't take you seriously at first. He just chuckles and goes along with what you're doing in more of a joking way, but he very quickly begins to understand that you're being genuine when you continue to order him around. It's a nice change of pace for the ghoul. The other times he's slept with a woman, it's usually him on top, so having this switch in roles is new for him and very welcomed. He follows along with your instructions easily. Whatever you need him to do, wherever you want him to be, he'll obey without much thought at all. In fact, he finds that he likes being with someone a bit more dominant than he is. Mostly because it means he can probably just lay there while you have your way with him (he's old, give him a break).
Cass has mixed feelings on the matter. On the one hand, she loves that she's finally met someone who can match her more firey personality, but on the other, she wants to be the one in charge. You'll have to wrestle with her for a bit before either of you can take on the dominant role for that night. It's a bit hit or miss with her as she can be very determined when it comes to things like this, but if you manage to pin her down hard enough, you should be able to have your way with her. Another thing to note, Cass loves it rough and wouldn't mind if you decided you needed to put her in a couple feet of rope to keep her still. Just a thought.
Veronica doesn't mind. In fact, she kinda likes having a more dominant partner. Being in a submissive role makes her feel more feminine, and if you can get her while she's in a dress, she'll be even more excited and willing to obey. One thing about Veronica is that she's a talker, especially during sex, and she's never against a bit of teasing or gagging to get her to quiet down. In fact, they go a long way when trying to get her off. She's more than willing to be put in her place and would do whatever was commanded of her, especially if you called her pretty while you did so.
Vulpes hates it. He wants to be the one in control, especially during sexual encounters. So, when he has to fight you for dominance, he gets a little pissed off. Not only does he find it to be incredibly disrespectful, but he deems it to go against the 'natural order' of things. Vulpes is a strong believer in the idea that women should be subservient and obedient to the men in their lives and will make it very clear to you how he feels. He'll bite you and try to overpower you, but if you tug his hair hard enough, there's a chance you'll be able to gain the upper hand in the situation and finally get him to relax into a more submissive role. Truthfully, though, he doesn't mind it all that much. He just doesn't like allowing a woman to order a man around. He thinks it's wrong, but as long as you keep quiet about this interaction, he will too.

Hi again! Thanks for the reply I really loved it! Expect to hear from me more cause I’m really into new Vegas! Could you do the companions + yes man and Benny reaction to Six having incredibly good hearing. Like can hear a dog whistle kind of good (bonus points if six is the “you talking shit” kind of person) thanks!!
Hey!! Don't worry, I adore New Vegas so it's always an honour to write for it!! This is such a fun idea and you know for sure that Six is gonna be like that! Whenever I write about Six/Sole/Lone etc. I always do it with my own characters in mind and my Six is DEFINITELY that kind of person LMAO
//
New Vegas Characters React to the Courier Having Incredibly Good Hearing
(Includes: Arcade, Boone, Cass, Lily, Raul, Veronica, Yes Man and Benny)
Arcade
When you first bring up your hearing to Arcade, he assumes you're joking. There's no way anyone can hear that well, he's sure of it. You prove him wrong soon enough, and he finds himself grumbling an apology for doubting you. He doesn't think much of it at first, just being sure not to mutter any complaints about you under his breath - you'd already caught him the last time he did that and threatened to sic ED-E on him. It's only when you're scouting out a location for Legionaries that he actually realises just how helpful your hearing can actually be. After battling it out and winning against a group of them, it seemed as though the area had been cleared out, with Arcade completely unaware of the Legionary that had survived sneaking up behind him in an attempt to slit his throat. It was only for the fact that you'd heard his quiet breathing and were able to turn around and shoot him before he could take out your companion that Arcade even survived. He found himself swallowing his pride and thanking you and your peculiarly incredible hearing.
Boone
Upon first joining up with you, Boone doesn't pay all that much attention to you or anything you have to say, truth be told. He doesn't want to get attached, after what happened to Carla and his child, assuming that this arrangement will also end in a death, whether that be yours or his own. It takes him a while to notice your hearing being far superior to his own, but when he does, he instantly points it out. By this point, he knows enough about you to expect you to take offense, assuming he's making fun of you for it, but you're more surprised when he points out it could be a useful skill to have. As the two of you travel together more and begin to fight better as a team, he often makes sure your hearing is used to your advantage, having you listen out for nearby targets that he can't see from the blind spots in his scope - something that saves his ass more times than he'd care to admit. You'd never considered your hearing to hold much value, yet now Boone makes you feel as though it's something to give you both the upper hand in combat.
Cass
At first, Cass doesn't really understand what's so interesting about your hearing, she's more annoyed when you complain about how she breathes too loud or how she's practically deafening when she's drunk. It'll likely become something the two of you argue about a lot, you'll tell her to be quieter when she eats and she'll tell you to "Shut you ears". It's nothing serious, just back and forth bickering between the two of you and you exclaiming that you heard her whisper how you're a moron. While Cass likes to voice her frustration about your particularly annoying talent a lot, she does find it pretty cool when she needs you to listen into whatever the Van Graffs are saying about her. She figures, eventually, that maybe it's got its perks too.
Lily
Quite early on in your travels with the Nightkin, Lily starts to notice quickly how sensitive your ears seem to be to loud noises - whether it be gunshots or even just someone speaking to you fairly loudly. Lily eventually asks you about it, not wanting to seem rude or hurt your feelings, but wanting to help you if you needed it. Ever the caring grandmother, once you explain to Lily that your hearing is extremely above average, she takes it upon herself to find a way to help you. The next time you speak with her, she presents to you a pair of earmuffs, ones that she'd knitted almost a forever ago for her Jimmy and Becky, so they wouldn't get cold as winter came in. She doesn't expect you to be thrilled with them, you're probably getting a little too old for your grandma to be knitting you things anyway, but when you seem so deeply touched by the gesture, she can't resist wrapping you into a tight hug.
Raul
Raul notices your hearing early on too, similar to Lily, but he decides to never bring it up to you, figuring that if you wanted him to know about it then he already would. Inevitably, you mention it in passing conversation like it's the most normal thing in the world and when he's taken aback by your casualness, you assume he's going to make fun of you. He clarifies that it's actually impressive and something he's almost envious of. Now a ghoul, Raul's senses are nothing like they used to be. he'd give anything to have hearing even the slightest bit like yours. Your own hearing ends up having its way of helping Raul out, when he can mumble something quietly enough for only you to hear - usually when someone was speaking to him and he didn't catch the end of their sentence and needs you to step in for him. Raul doesn't want you to feel like he's constantly depending on you, or that it's the only reason he travels with you so often, but it's nice to have someone help him here and there.
Veronica
If Veronica didn't think you were cool already, the fact that you can figure out where the Brotherhood bunker is based on the inaudible - to her - sound of an engine humming is definitive proof of that. It isn't long before she's showing you off like she won you at a fun fair, telling everyone how her buddy Six can hear the Lucky 38 slot machines from all the way in the Mojave Outpost (totally not true, by the way. She insists on you playing along) You have to admit, it leads to you winning a lot of bets against over confident NCR soldiers and drunken gamblers, but you do find yourself frequently insisting that one day, Veronica is going to get the both of you in trouble. Still, you can't help but enjoy the ego boost as she gushes about you to anyone and everyone who'll listen.
Yes Man
Somehow, Yes Man is already completely clued up on your hearing, but frankly it doesn't come as much of a surprise to you. You've met weirder Securitrons, shockingly enough. He refers to it as a "neat trick" as though it wasn't something you were born with before he continues to discuss the factions you need to check out. Of course, if he thinks that your hearing could be useful in certain situations, maybe around enemies with Stealth Boys, he will make a point to let you know before you go anywhere. He offers helpful advice, but knowing your hearing is superior to that of the average person's doesn't really mean much else to him.
Benny
You already know he's going to make a joke about how you should've heard him sneaking up behind you before he got the jump on you, maybe then he wouldn't have had the chance to shoot you in the head. You respond to this by practically rolling your eyes into the back of your skull and gifting him a broken nose. He immediately decides you owe him a new jacket, since this one is now covered in his blood. Knowing full well that Benny is a gossip who can't keep his mouth shut, you aren't surprised when he starts asking you to listen out for people talking about him behind his back. You're pretty sure it's your fault he had that argument with Swank in the middle of the Tops lobby, but you decided that's just karma getting him.

1-50 for Sarsaparilla?
ohhh my god skfjskdf sarsaparilla has no development whatsoever this is gonna be a blast and a half
1) which faction did they side with (NCR, legion, yes-man, or house)?
she sided with the legion from the time she saw vulpes in nipton bc Romam Armor Look Cool, cured caesar of his tumor & everything, and then just before the battle of hoover dam, assassinated caesar and sided with yes-man. she realized about halfway through her work for caesar that siding with the legion was never going to pay off and decided to Fool Him TM and then take vegas for herself
2) preferred armor?
OOF probably like… leather armor sdkfjsdk i dont know. she wore the tribal raiding armor at the very beginning of the game. she doesnt wear the legion uniform but i imagine her w some Legion Accessories TM like a mark of caesar on her chest or something
3) melee, guns, energy weapons, or unarmed?
melee babey
4) highest skills? secondary skills? lowest skills?
her highest skills are melee, stealth, and medicine (she polishes that up real nice when she realizes caesar has cancer). secondary skills are explosives and lockpick. lowest skills would have to be barter and survival :/
5) SPECIAL stats?
im just guessing at this point bc i dont remember them skdfjkd but i would say ST:5, PE:6, EN:4, CH:4, IN:6, AG:9, LK:9
6) what are their perks?
black widow, cherchez la femme, friend of the night, cannibal, scrounger, ninja
7) favorite companions? least favorite companions?
literally no one will hang out w her bc she’s legion ksdfjsd. she takes boone as a companion at the very beginning of the game and then she has to kill him. her fave would probably be cass, or raul, who is the Only Mf who will talk to her
8) any romantic partners? how do these relationships begin and end? are they healthy?
she thinks vulpes is hot for 0.2 seconds but she also thinks that about violet, gloria van graff, and some securitrons so i wouldnt worry about it
9) gender / sexuality / ethnicity / species / etc.?
cis female / bi / asian / human ((i just realized all my couriers are cis even though im trans as hell sdkfjsdkfsdj yikes))
10) where were they born/raised? when/why did they leave?
she doesn’t remember anything from b4 the bullet but she’s from new reno. she left because it’s new reno.
11) when, why and how did they become a courier? how long did they remain a courier before benny shot them?
she needed work after she left home and delivering packages didn’t seem terrible. she did it for like 2 years max before she got shot
12) how did the bullet affect them?
took out most of her memories (including her name) and sort of scrambled her good sense. she doesn’t feel very much fear, restraint, or remorse anymore, which is why she’s been doing All This recently
13) how did they deal with benny?
seduced him, slept with him, killed him in his sleep, and took his roomba yes-man
14) what’s their reputation with the ncr / the legion?
the ncr - fucking horrible she can barely go on the strip sdjfskdsd. pile body upon body babey. / the legion - superb. sparkling. if she weren’t a woman they’d even stop insulting her
15) what do the people in freeside think of them? the followers, the kings, the garrets, the van graffs?
the followers aren’t a fan of her because of all that legion business. the kings like her because she takes care of rex. the garrets generally dislike her. the van graffs like her a lot because she let them kill cass & did all their quests
16) what’s their reputation with goodsprings / novac / primm? (i know primm reputation was cut from the game but like let’s pretend for a minute sdkfjd)
goodsprings: bad bc she sided with the powder gangers kdsfjs / novac: she did come fly with me so its lookin alright! / primm: very mixed bc she’s pro-powder ganger but she also got them a new sheriff (meyer)
17) what’s their reputation with the khans / the brotherhood / the boomers / the powder gangers?
the khans: she’s a Legion Ambassador… a shining monument of their new allies… Excellent and yet they know fuckall about her / bos: well she did blow up that whole bunker. / boomers: i dont remember / powder gangers: as i mentioned before she sided with them at goodsprings and made meyer a sheriff so they like her a lot. boxcars is happy to see her
18) what do the people on the strip think of them? the omertas, the white gloves, the chairmen, ncr military police, mr. house? do the gamblers like them?
the omertas: she did cachino’s quest so it’s pretty good / white gloves: idolized / chairmen: hey that’s the fink that killed benny / ncrmp: BAD / mr house: well considering the fact that she killed him, not excellent
19) what is their motive for taking vegas?
literally just ‘she wants to’. the whole point of this courier was that she’s a no rules run, she’s lost a lot after the bullet scrambled her brain and she’s literally just doing whatever she wants to do
20) do they have a theme song?
no :(
21) what do they look like? how tall are they? are they attractive? any piercings, tattoos, scars?
she has black hair in the “blast back” style. pretty short, like 5′4″. no piercings or tattoos (but she probably gets a legion brand at some point w like the mars symbol or something). there’s of course a bullet scar on her head, and a few around her arms and torso.
22) how old are they? do they know their birthday? if so, what’s their sign?
she’s in her early-mid twenties, very young. im not sure if she remembers her bday (probs not) but she’s a Sagittarius

god no. she doesnt even try to learn latin jhjhkjgfkj she pronounces all of it wrong and caesar’s like please shut up,
24) can they read, write, do math, sing? did they ever receive an education?
she went to school in new reno so she can do all that. maybe not sing.
25) what were their parents like? are they still on good terms with their parents?
i honestly havent given it much thought. her parents were probably Just Okay TM. she doesn’t remember them.
26) what’s their d&d alignment? (bolded bc i really like that one ksdjfksd)
chaotic neutral, leaning into chaotic evil.
27) how’s their karma?
not great
28) how do they feel about killing people? do they try to avoid it?
like i said, the bullet messed w her remorse a lot, so it doesn’t particularly bother her anymore.
29) do they take chems? if yes, when and which ones?
yes, sometimes! usually mentats, buffout, med-x, or psycho.
30) do they gamble? where? is their luck good?
she likes to gamble. usually at the ultra-luxe. her luck is pretty good!
31) where do they usually sleep? do they have more than one home location? do they live with any other people?
she usually stays in the lucky 38, in her hotel room in novac, or in the tent Big C TM hooked her up with at the fort. if it comes to it she’ll sleep in the ncrcf. no one else really lives in her 38 save for the securitrons
32) what are their favorite weapons? where did they get these weapons?
her caesar’s fall collection legion-brand machete babeyyyy, one n only! she’ll also use a pistol (a light shining in darkness most of the time since u know she sides w joshua graham) or a police baton if that’s appropriate
33) do they flirt a lot? is it well-received?
yes she does and no it isnt! she licked vulpes. just. right on his visibly ugly face. one time she tried to climb yes-man
34) do they goof around a lot? do other people find it funny or do they just entertain themselves?
once again yes she does and no they do not! she’s doin it all for her, baby. chaotic neutral here we go
35) what do their companions think of them? are they close? have they done any companion quests?
the companions,, obviously dont think very well of her most of the time bc she’s legion. cass thinks she’s a Real Wild Card and respects her for that at first. raul doesn’t like her very much but he’ll still travel with her from time to time just to see what she Does TM.
36) why did you create them?
i wanted to do a no rules run! like i thought it would be cool to just. do the craziest things i could think of in fnv and do it all with one courier. and thus sarsaparilla was born
37) do they draw, paint, play any instruments?
hell no
38) how do they deal with injuries? do they use stimpaks, healing powder, med-x? does a companion help them? can they bear a lot of pain, or do they need to attend to injuries immediately? when they do have to see a doctor, do they have a preferred doctor, or do they just see anyone?
she uses all 3 depending on how bad the wound is. for minor wounds she uses healing powder because she has an abundance of it from the legion, but since she has fairly low endurance she often just has to use stimpaks & med-x. she’s not very tolerant to pain all of the time? but if she has a lot of adrenaline (which she comes by very easily) she can all but ignore it entirely. she doesnt have a preferred doctor
39) have they ever been irradiated? how did they deal with it? did it have lasting effects?
probably a few times but she just threw up and then took a bunch of rad-away and ended up fine. she’s never been damaged by radiation permanently
40) in conversation, are they kind? gentle? sarcastic? rude? do they speak warmly and openly with people, or are they more guarded? do they talk a lot?
she’s somewhat talkative, she mostly says whatever pops into her head whenever it comes to mind so her talking is just. a big mess of Thoughts She Had. she likes making a lot of jokes that are mostly for her
41) do they like long journeys through the mojave, or do they prefer to travel more quickly? do they prefer using roads or travelling through the deep desert?
she likes to travel quickly. no time to waste! she’s almost always using the roads
42) name a random fact about your courier.
she thinks it’s really funny to blow vulpes’s cover whenever she sees him undercover on the strip & she almost gets killed every single time. oh holy shit it’s vulpes! vulpes inculta! spelled v-u-l-p– oh my god its the ncr mp quick vulpes take your dick out in this gift shop
43) do they watch movie holotapes? what are their favorites? least favorites?
yes but shes literally only seen blazing saddles, gladiator, and we bought a zoo
44) what do they do with the lucky 38? do they like being there? do they leave their companions there? if they’re a yes-man courier, do they open it back up as a casino?
she doesn’t leave companions there too often, like i said. she likes it pretty well bc of the robots and the hot water? but i think that she really prefers staying in hotels except for special occasions. she doesnt open it back up bc yes-man kills her sldkfjds great transition
45) what do they do after hoover dam?
yes-man says fuck work and just absolutely murders her. hes like ok enough of this and finds a new human to do what he needs done skdfjksd
46) how do they die? how is their death received, by the mojave and by their companions?
yes-man fucking KILLS her ass! the mojave takes a great big breath of relief knowing they wont have to watch her shenanigans anymore skdjfds
47) what are their vices? are they an alcoholic, a thief, a hoarder?
oh boy literally all of them. she definitely steals a lot but thats literally just. a part of her “do whatever you want” complex that Is TM her greatest vice
48) can they cook, and if so, what do they cook? what are their favorite & least favorite foods?
she absolutely cannot. she likes pizza from the tops dskfjkds
49) did they kill caesar? vulpes inculta? what about prominent ncr figures, like kimball and colonel hsu?
yes she did kill caesar! her securitrons killed vulpes at hoover dam and she was power-tripping so hard she didn’t realize they’d already gotten to him. she probably didnt think about him again before she died. she didnt assassinate kimball herself but she definitely assisted in making the assassination go smoothly, and im sure her robots got to hsu sometime before she had yes-man throw oliver off the dam skdjfskd
50) what’s their happiest memory?
not to be fake deep but all this shit she does obviously causes more adrenaline than happiness. you could say that it’s when yes-man threw oliver off the dam, because that was her most exhilarating moment, or you could say that it was when she woke up in goodsprings, because it was the last time she was calm and being taken care of.
thank u so much if u read all this and thank you for sending me this ask. it took a long time but its a good exercise like i said skdfjsdf. send me more if these if yall have the heart, maybe not a whole 1-50 but like ! & please reblog my fnv courier questions post because i do think its nice, bye

All the damn fic ideas I had in 2021, but never got around to (long post):
Shot Right Through (My Heart) - Fallout 4
A MacCready x OmC with Cait x OfC set in a modern, original-ish universe. Factions have taken to the underground crime ring and MacCready tries to navigate his way through a divorce, a child, and the potential of a target on his back. With the help of Oliver (OmC) and Talia (OfC), hitmen for hire, he experiences first-hand what it means to mingle with the professionals. After all, how the hell else does someone become a professional if it's always left to them?!
Eternity's Spark - Fallout 4
A MacCready x OmC x Deacon set in an ancient civilization where magic flows freely through those that can wield it. Gods freely interfere through their mortal children, and often seek to fulfill eons-old prophecies instilled in them from their appearance. The child of Gaia (OmC), high mage of the kingdom, happens upon a lowly thief (MacCready) attempting to rob him that emanates a strange aura long lost to the common magic. With the aid of the prince Cadeon (Deacon), the thief discovers his role in the rebirth of the Creator.
Conquests Retold - Fallout 4
A re-imagining of an already half-written Gage x OmC x Mason set during the story of Nukaworld. War took his partner, and war took his son too; now, Avery (OmC) has nothing much left to live for. A message blares out in the night, inviting him to take part in something he thought was but a remnant of the past. Set on his path, for what reason he doesn't want to admit, he begins to carve a new story for him to follow through with
Ash in the Sands - Fallout New Vegas
A Boone x OmC (not Courier 6) no-romance fic that follows an original storyline with some influence from A Lonesome Road. Elio (OmC) hails from the east, is cursed by blood, and is victimized by the Legion's kidnapping of his son. On a vengeful trek to the Mojave, the curse of his bloodline edges closer to fulfilling. Will he find the aid he needs to recover his son before it is too late, or will he be consumed in the hellfire coursing through him?
One Plus One is Eleven
An Arcade x OmC that follows an original storyline with influence from Old World Blues. Brian (OmC), an out-of-commission NCR engineer has become encumbered with trying to find someone or something that can cure his sister's mysterious Iillness. Blinded by the Legion and by his own adventures, he seeks the aid of the Followers of the Apocalypse. Little did he know that there would be more than answers found in the mind of a certain Follower.
A Song of Desert Storms - Fallout New Vegas
A Raul x OfC no-romance fic set to an original storyline with influence from Dead Money. The nuclear devastation of the world left many things in shambles, in particular the career of one up-and-coming starlet. Left to wander as a ghoul, she has lost just about everything but her demeanor and voice, one regarded as being able to calm even the most dangerous of beasts. She hopes to find the joy of performing again and scours the wasteland for the grand stage fit just for her.
Nothing to Say - Muv-Luv: Schwarzesmarken
A Walther x OmC unrequited-romance set during the story. Left traumatized by the failure of Operation Palaiologos, [Name] has found his only potential distraction from his PTSD in maintaining the TSFs tasked with constantly repelling the BETAs. However, it seems there are more scars to be dug into his heart than just what happened four years ago.
[Unnamed] - World Trigger
Four whole main OCs (2 male, 2 female) and two side OCs (1 male, 1 female), with various relationships both romantic and platonic. The cast is thrown from their world in the Neighborhood, cast into the uncertainty of Meeden's politics and conflict with the Neighbors. With negotiations, the cast are set to work with Border and hopefully find peace with those that see them as the enemy. But how long will those deals last when internal issues rise above their thresholds?
[Unnamed] - Tell Me Why
A Tyler x OC/reader set in a short story. Every soul was born from the separation of two. Fate always worked to bring them back together, if not in one life then perhaps another. Life was different rejoined; there were more colors, more sounds, more joys to find in the world around them. So what happens when one day your best childhood friend emails you and says their name now is the one you've known would be your soulmate all these years? Was this fate's red thread pulling you in the right direction?
Wild Heart - Tell Me Why
A Tyler x OmC set post-game. Landon (OmC) thought he had found himself years ago back in college, and now he was sure of who he was in his new home of Juneau, Alaska. He thought he knew what his life was going to be as a gay man, but it seems someone has thrown a wrench into the whole thing... Or maybe he had been waiting for a reason to finally explore the feelings he had been holding back for however long its been? Life sure is strange, isn't it?
Moonforged - Log Horizon
A Naotsugu x trans-OC set during the canon story. Allestra of the Moonforged Blade was her screen name, but most just called her Ali. Elder Tales was one of the few places she found comfort in being who she wanted to be, and not many people knew exactly what that entailed besides her brother and her closest friends. Now, with the game she once exhaustively knew being turned on its head and becoming her life, will she be able to deal with the adversaries whittling away at her HP bar? And what the hell happens when it hits zero?!
[Unnamed] - Resident Evil Village
A enemies-to-lovers Chris x OmC set during the end of RE7 up through RE8. Emil had been devote to his faith all his life, and he tried to find God's guidance when the Spanish Flu ripped through the Europe. When his sister fled into the night after the loss of her daughter, he thought he felt God tell him to follow her. What the two found was beyond God's creation, something vile and wicked beyond comprehension, but in it he found a new higher power. If God would not save His own by His hands, then Emil would by his. By whatever means it took.
[Unnamed] - FNAF: Security Breach
[Name] worked as a engineer for the maintenence of Freddy Fazbear, the center piece of the entire Fazbear enterprise. Or well, originally he did; now he's the lone guy working on keeping the whole megaplex from going up in smoke. Called in on his one day off because of course something in that damn place goes wrong, he gets stuck with some unwanted overnight overtime. And now? He's gotta deal with some kid who can't seem to trust anyone but Freddy, a brother who was supposed to be out of town, and also what seems to be the place being incredibly more haphazardly that it usually is. Great... At least the hazard pay was good (when he got it...).

FO NV companions react to courier 6 getting v sick and being bed-ridden for the next few days? If you want, can add companions from Honest Hearts? Thanks!
Joshua: Stays by their side day and night, leaning back on his hands and reading psalms to them. He tries to keep them entertained; he knows they’d much rather be out fighting White Legs. He tries remedies on them, anything to heal the process of getting better, and lays wet cloths on their steaming forehead.
Follows-Chalk: He likes telling them stories about his adventures in Zion and asks them questions about Mojave, making them miss home. He’s the one who comes to make sure they are hydrated and makes sure they sit up every few hours. He’s very sweet towards them and tries to make them smile.
Waking Cloud: With three kids and being a midwife, she knows how to care for others. She soothes them with touches to their forehead and arms and calms them when they go into coughing or sneezing fits. Even though she is gentle, she still demands them to take the medicine she has made, eat and drink, even when they don’t want to, and get up to wash themselves in the early morning.
Boone: Sits with them in their room at the Lucky 38 when asked and basically acts as their servant. It’s not something he would usual do, but they’re sick, so he brings purified water and steaming plates of food from downstairs and watches as they scarf them down.
Lily: No, no this cannot be happening. This is the exact opposite of what should happen, she thinks. She practically suffocates them with her presence, telling them to ask for things, bringing them food, testing their temperature, all the while sitting on the side of the bed.
Veronica: Tucks them in when they’re sick and smiles at them to get them to be happy, even when they’re in pain. Goes out and comes back, bringing them food and little handmade “get well” cards. Always leaves the light off because she knows that it burns their eyes when they’re sick.
Raul: Less caring, but still makes sure they have the necessities. He plants a small plant beside their bed and waters it when they are sick, coming in to check on them.
Arcade: Goes into doctor mode. “From what I’ve read you should take x amount of x medicine before bed and in the morning. You have to follow the instructions.” If their illness lasts for longer than expected, he’ll get upset, thinking that something went wrong with his calculations.
Cass: Getting drunk has been a remedy for her, so why would it not be for them? She tries not to laugh at their ruddy face and wipes sweat from their skin, offering another sip to let them sleep. But the alcohol burns their already rough throat and they begin coughing, rushing to the bathroom to throw up. She holds their hair back if it’s long and smokes a cigarette, remembering her time in the bar scene...and past hangovers.

Well...
So, I couldn’t fall asleep since I woke up at 3AM, so I finally fleshed out the details on my first (and maybe only?) OC for use in my RPs and fanfictions for FNV.
En-fucking-joy.
Name: Tyrannus Mars or Ty or Mars
Story Role: M!Courier - NCR
Description: Extremely pale skin, color of cold ash. Various sizes of scars liter his body, especially on his chest, stomach, and back. Two long gashes run through the middle of his head as a result of Benny's gun shots, hidden by his hair. Distinct bright red hair, the color of fresh, oxygenated blood. Hairstyle is very long and shaggy, with a very thick beard to match. Defined body build, with little to no visible fat present if he was ever topless. Facial structure resembles that of Christian Bale.
Family: Orphaned due to the fledgling Caesar’s Legion
Friends: Raul Tejada, Craig Boone, Rose of Sharon Cassidy, Ulysses, Sarah Weintraub (only with benefits), Yes Man, Fisto (with...benefits)
Backstory:
Ty was a former Frumentarii originally sent out to explore the Western wastes for Caesar in 2255. Instead of going through the Mojave first, he explored the Pacific Northwest before coming down into what was California, making first contact with the NCR around 2260. At this point, Ty had been away from the Legion for 10 years and what had been unswerving loyalty to Caesar had given way to a more pragmatic and sensible loyalty to oneself. After all, Caesar nor the Legion were there to help him fend off the various beasts and savages in the Pacific Northwest and California. His only memory was still that of a fledgling nation assembled from enslaved tribes; Ty did not know Legion had expanded by then. As a result, he ended up assimilating into the NCR, hiding his former allegiances to prevent himself from being looked down as another filthy tribal.
Ironically enough, he would eventually find himself slowly making himself back east whilst moving from town to town doing jobs for caps, shelter, and food. By the time NCR found Hoover Dam in 2274, he had inadvertently found himself back in Arizona. It had been 19 years since he had seen sign of the Legion and had himself a true NCR citizen by then, having forgotten most of his former life. However, the Legion had not forgotten about him. In the many years he had not reported back to Caesar, he had been deemed to be a traitor and declared in damnatio memoriae by Caesar himself. The many times he nearly found himself crucified by the hands of his childhood friends, the hands of the people he once considered to be his brothers, started the flame of intense hatred for all members of the Legion that only grew with each time an assassin came for his throat. 2276 was the first time Ty found himself in the lands of the Mojave wastes.
Ty did not personally attend the first Battle for Hoover Dam in 2277, but he did celebrate greatly when he found that the NCR had crushed Caesar’s forces under the Malpais Legate. By then, he had found his steadiest job yet as a courier for the Mojave Express….
SPECIAL: Str. (6), Per. (6) End. (5) Cha. (10) Int. (10) Agi. (8) Luc. (10)
Loadout (Pre-Mojave): Plain black courier duster, Desperado cowboy hat, Brush gun, Machete, 15x Healing Powder, Caravan deck, 1500x caps.
Loadout (Mojave - PA): Enclave’s Advanced Power Armor (full set, from Deathclaw Promontory and Silver Peak Mine), Q35 Matter Modulator, Fusion Core x 20, 5 x Stimpack, 5 x Healing Powder, 20 x Whiskey, 600 x MF Cells. 200x caps
Loadout (Mojave - NonPA): Riot Gear (stolen from a Ranger he slept with one night), Desperado cowboy hat, Brush gun, Machete, 15x Healing Powder, Caravan deck, 500x caps
Ideals: “Si Monumentum Requiris, Circumspice.” Ty had been taught at a very young age as a Legion child to constantly give glory to Caesar at all times. When he shed his allegiance to Caesar, he sought to glorify himself through the actions he does in his own lifetime and to see what those actions do to change the wastes around him. Money to him is only a means to an end to further his own glory, and not a final desire.
Bonds: The bonds he desires fall into the pragmatic side. Whenever he meets a person and evaluates their relationship to himself, Ty always asks himself the phrase cui bono? If the answer finds that he is not benefitting from their relationship in the slightest bit, he swiftly gives them a courteous goodbye.
Flaws: Extreme pragmaticism has left him with nobody to really depend on as a person. Though he envisions himself as a demigod beyond the needs of his own flesh at times, in particularly rough days in the wastes, he too can fall to the spectre of loneliness and depression. But hey, that’s what whiskey and jet are for!
Do to his upbringing by the legion, he has also developed a fair sense of superiority over the opposite sex. Any woman who proves his view wrong however earns his respect, since a woman ought to be able to handle herself like a man in the wastes in order to survive.
Defining moments: The crucifixion of his parents; over 75 repeated assassinations by his former Legion brothers, including some by Vulpes himself, by the time he relocated to the Mojave.
What would they eat for breakfast: Whiskey, jet, and a brahmin steak.
If given an arbitrary choice between left and right, which would they choose? Left. In Latin, the word for left happens to be sinistra, which, in English, is the root of the word sinister.
What Harry Potter house would they be in and why? Slytherin. Undeniably. See his SPECIAL.
