as a kaleidoscope of death reader, spirealm lin qiushi's reaction to li dongyuan pulling out a pic of ruan baijie is so interesting to me. he clearly knows who she is, but doesn't react with surprise at all; he's seen her before. however, thus far, ruan nanzhu has only ever presented male onscreen. therefore, lin qiushi must have met ruan baijie offscreen.

my hc scenario for this is that lin qiushi was just chilling at the obsidian house one time and ruan baijie walked out of a door and collapsed on the couch sighing. after a solid minute of thinking "who is that??? have they broken in??? do i need to tell someone???" cheng qianli walks in asks how ruan-jie is doing. cue several minutes of strained eavesdropping where lin qiushi tries to confirm if he heard right, before ruan baijie calls out to him to stop eavesdropping and make her a drink. this is the thing that confirms to lin qiushi that they are the same person.

that's very true! even if alex makes the jump straight to f3 (which idk how likely it is rn…), they still wont have anyone in f2. doriane also isnt rlly a contender either, she hasnt been doing too well in freca (which i mean is understandable considering how many series shes been doing lol). i mean it would be funny to see paul back there but i see the possibility being like 0.00001% 😭 dont think they wouldve let him go if they even wanted to keep him a little bit, plus i dont think he would wanna go back after what they did. and i mean to be fair, even if they have no drivers in f2/3, they also have fred as a "junior" ready to jump in if they need him.

very similar to the fda's current situation tho… so we think dino is gonna stay in the fda? then ig they would have one driver in f2, and then likely rafa in f3. but if they dont have dino… who are they gonna put in the haas seat when ollie gets promoted to ferrari……..

while on my break, i made the decision to change yn's team in "perfectly fine" to campos.... blame it on my obsession with pepe maybe, but i just really felt like it would fit the story better. i already wanted yn and pepe to be friends and this makes it a lot easier. so now franco can also be mentioned in the fic <333

What were your thoughts about THAT love confession in The Spirealm? I thought it was quite daring to include but sadly might have been a factor in its cancellation. Still loved it and I wished more stuff like it was included.

Spoiler if its not clear:

The one from Li Dongyuan to Ruan Nanzhou. I took it as a love confession since he mentioned that he didn't like Bai Jie anymore and he was head over heels for "her" before plus the little heart sign

OH that scene! tbh I took it a bit more jokingly 😂 (i.e. not a legit confession) especially since ldy in the show is a bit more of a comic relief character. I think there are a lot more flirty/ *confession-ey* scenes between rnz and lqs just that they don't explicitly say "I like you" (although, there is that one scene where rnz asks lqs if he's really okay with accompanying him to the twelfth door and lqs goes "我愿意" - which in english would be translated to an innocent "yes" or "I'm willing" but those three characters also happen to be the what people say in chinese when they get married i.e. "I do" and when I heard that I went fucking nuts). if they really had said something along the lines of "I like you", I think that would've been really flirting with the censors already. that being said, the "I don't like rbj anymore, I like you" from ldy with the little heart came as a really cute and funny surprise - the context with his death though (even though I knew it was coming since he also dies in the novel), not so much 🥲
