pro!ushijima has fan made compilation videos of “ushiwaka treating vball like it’s a 9-5 he can’t wait to clock out of” but it’s purely because he’s the worst at doing interviews and postgame conferences. the one video clip that always makes it in, though, is one where the adlers just won the championship and the interviewer is asking him if he’s excited for the celebration occurring afterwards.

“what celebration? the postgame party?”

��no! they’re hosting a parade to celebrate the victory. aren’t you excited?” the reporter seems more ecstatic than ushi, and everyone notices the way he’s frowning now. he presses the interviewer to tell him when the parade is and ushijima can only let out a long sigh.

he shakes his head. he already doesn’t attend the postgame parties, but he really doesn’t have time for this. “i can’t go to the parade. i told my wife i was coming home after this. my ticket’s already booked.” then he glances at his watch, before excusing himself, getting up from the chair. “i have to be at the airport. thank you for your support.”

(later that evening, you show your husband all the tweets going insane over the interview. he’s clinging to you and burying his face in the crook of your neck. “i don’t need a parade to celebrate. i want to celebrate with you.”)

​I think if 2.0 and Evo/Uprising/Legacy were to have been in the same universe, Kevin would’ve brought WAY more color into his Grid.

The 2.0 Encom servers naturally upgraded to the state we see them in, having evolved into something new compared to how we were introduced to them in 82, all due to the fact that they were free from the MCP’s totalitarian control over them.

The Grid is something new, sure, but it’s something that doesn’t have the same freedoms to evolve due to Clu’s iron grip and refusal to embrace change, which more than likely is why the surroundings have stayed relatively the same since it’s coming online in the mid-late 80s. Kevin didn’t really get to experiment and go wild.

Friendly reminder after the DX11 updates

I’ve updated all my sets for DX11 compatibility! Some sets, like the Biedermeier and Wainscot Wonderland sets, have received a complete overhaul. This means you’ll need to replace the files to enjoy the improved content.

If you’ve previously included these sets in your saves or along with the tray files of a build, you must revisit those folders to update them. Alternatively, you can tag me and link my original CC, as my T.O.U. states.

This is why I strongly discourage reuploading my content.

EA breaks something with every update, so CC sets can quickly become broken. Hope this doesn't require further elaboration, I wrote a whole post about it some months ago.

Some creators tend to revisit their old sets to improve their quality. When you include obsolet CC, ppl who download these files won’t experience the latest, best quality work, and this can harm the creator's reputation.

It means a lot, when we get positive feedback and engagement on our little projects. When you reupload these artworks, we miss the chance to connect with others. And after all, this is what keeps us going.

If the reuploaded CC is broken, and cause glitches, frustrated ppl may start to blame it on the creator and on the content, which is again bad for the artist.

Thanks for understanding and for supporting artists by downloading directly from them! It really helps us doing our best while staying connected with the sims community. 🌈✨

i just wanted to pop in and say that you just seem so brimming with life and emotion and color and i was wondering how you generated it all because golly, that's a lot of personhood. excellent work. keep being vast

oh thank you! this was really lovely to read & it brightened what’s otherwise been a little bit of a shit week. so, just for you, i wrote up a how-to.

a 10-step guide to being vast:

step 1: be a person with a complex & unique way of experiencing the world (you have already achieved this!)

step 2: be willing to say yes to anything* once. maybe even twice, to make sure the first time wasn’t a fluke. it will be hard and you won’t always like it, but it will be worth it.

*with consideration for your health & safety, of course. but this step is about getting you outside of your comfort zone. it’s okay to be uncomfortable.

step 3: spend time with the world. go to all sorts of places and do all sorts of things. (this does not require money, only creativity and courage.) pay attention to what happens around you. notice the big picture and the small details. look for beauty in everything.

step 4: feel what it’s like to be yourself. the sensations, the emotions. sit with them. experience them. give them names. make friends with them—even the uncomfortable ones. this is the hardest and most painful step, but also the most important in my experience. i wish i could promise that you’ll stop being sad, or afraid, or angry. that doesn’t happen. but you’ll grow into someone who’s also joyful and brave and kind. i can promise that.

step 5: try to be the best version of yourself whenever you can. remember that the best version of yourself in this moment is not always the same as in every other moment. have grace for yourself when you don’t succeed—because your best self right now would have grace for your past self’s mistakes. figure out how to take good care of yourself & do that.

step 6: ask “how?” and “why?” about everything. even if the only person you ask is yourself & your duckduckgo searchbar. don’t stop until you get an answer that makes sense. teach yourself how to do things. do them badly so that you can do them well.

step 7: practice drawing connections. now that you know these two things, how are they related? now that you have these two skills, how can you use them together? this is a tough skill, but it’s critical to being an active force in your life.

step 8: make friends with interesting people (this will happen naturally as you work through these steps). and then, be vulnerable. text first. love hard, even when it hurts. let them be vulnerable too. life is too short to hold things back. remember that nothing is required, but everything is permitted, and you get to make your life look however you want. above all, be kind. not nice—kind. and remember to be kind to yourself, too. repeat step 5 as often as necessary. it will be necessary, and that’s okay.

step 9: tell me* about all of it. get really specific. if you don’t have the right words, look them up. if it’s funny or an emergency you can make up new ones that feel right.

*this is a genuine offer. i would love to hear about it all. but it could also be your journal/therapist/best friend/cat/followers who read the tumblr tags. just make sure you put it outside of you somewhere so it doesn’t get stuck.

step 10: congrats! you’re a vast, complicated, interesting person who’s brimming with life and emotion and color!
