Recapkid wasn't afraid to share their pieces that they drew for themselves on here. But you all "antis" took down their safe space to be themselves and try to get better from lasting health problems. You guys disgust me.

hey guys, feel free to scroll past this if you don't want to read any discourse. i haven't been around much because life has been a bitch lately and I've been exhausted in general, so when i heard about the shitstorm around rek and their departing posts, i seriously leaned towards just ignoring it. but it stayed on my mind, mainly because since i have more than a handful of followers now, I've been getting more hey! let's be friends! messages lately, which is lovely, but I'm feeling inclined to let others know a little bit about what kind of person i am in regards to what i think are important issues, because honestly these days I'm pretty wary of the possibility of becoming friends with people who end up stressing me the hell out. nobody asked for my opinion and idk if anyone cares, i just feel like i want the people who interact with me to know where i stand, and i'm legit just too tired to chime in with a whole heated discussion in my servers. I'm also writing this at 3am so i hope it's coherent.

i didn't like rek's art. it made me uncomfortable. any romantic or sexual art that depicts zim as two feet tall makes me uncomfortable, because in my mind i associate extremely small bodies with children and infants, even in very stylized art. and when i peeked at rek's nsfw account because i was curious, i was really grossed out by the content there.

but i do not think rek deserved to be threatened, stalked, or doxxed. never did they exhibit predatory behavior towards other people, and for as weird as their nsfw got, none of it focused on age, and all of it was private. and while their style alone appeared to infantalize zim, art is and always will be subjective. and just like i said in my last """discourse""" post, i am SO GLAD that more and more people are speaking out against predators and predatory behavior, but at the same time, we have to think carefully about who we target. the second someone attempts to harm someone else is when it's okay to harm them, but people are different, develope different thought processes, and nothing is ever black and white. accusing someone of pedophilia or predation is life ending. being against someone is one thing, criticizing someone is one thing, but death threats and stalking??? i understand MANY antis are minors and very young adults who have yet to understand the impact of the power they have to affect someone's life, but this is serious shit and it is not okay.

my main purpose for saying this is, please don't try to be my friend if you ever wished death on rek, or if you were happy that they were harassed. imo they had some major issues and gross kinks, but they kept their nsfw behind closed doors and were never a threat to anyone.

that's all, thanks for reading, this is as short as i could make it but please don't take my wording as oversimplifying or making overly broad statements, i seriously just don't want to spend more than a short amount of time and energy on this, nor do i want this crap all over my blog.

Seeing the weird ask you're getting telling you to say something to control how other zadrs portray the ship is making me worry. The anti-leaning zadrs might be targeting you next since recapkid is gone. It's really strange though since I think you're one of the few other zadr shippers I know of that make problematic fanart of zadr. They should know they can't manipulate you into going along with them.

Maybe that’s why tho? I am absolutely unashamedly open about my content being Problematic and I do not have a single ounce of patience for people trying to police other’s enjoyment of art, be it attempting to ban a ship they dislike to telling others what Flavor of It are they Allowed to Enjoy. I don’t go out of my way of stuffing my problematic art into minor’s faces (that’s the antis job after all HEYYYYY) but I don’t keep it a secret and I rather people know what they’re going to get out of following me right off the bat so there’s not really a point on tryna doxx me? 

Even if they attempted, like, the only close family member I have IRL is super cool w what I do and even helps me like color in shit sometimes?? and the rest have the internet literacy of a raw pea so I don’t think they’d give two shits about what I draw (plus even if they attempt to Ship of Theseus the situation into me being an actual pedophile somehow, like, they all know I never leave the house…what children am I preying on, exactly? ghost children who come visit me at night to rattle me pots and pans??) jksdfds I’d love to see them try honestly, it’d be a barrel of laughs. I do understand the danger antis pose tho, and I know it can be especially draining mentally, but so far I’ve managed good and I have so much support around me from people that know what I actually am about I don’t think I’ll feel alone. Oh boy Im really new to Invader Zim and think the ship of Dib and Zim is so funny just cause of the general cartoon havoc. With the whole unconfirmed age thing is that a big discourse thing in the fandom cause I dont really want to throw myself into a new fandom that fights all the time lol. So I just found out that recapkid actually left social media (checked tumblr and Twitter) and I’m upset. The fact that they were bullied over fucking Zadr discourse??? I’m glad they’re taking a break to get help from this, but it’s still fucking awful what happened.

They’re actually an artist named @recapkid. You can check out my reblogged posts of their old Invader Zim art by finding the “deleted post” tag or just simply typing “deleted post” in the search bar of my blog. They used to be on this site until a bunch of anti’s and even zadr shippers harassed and doxxed them over the ship and what dynamic they see in it. I used to followed them, and it’s so sad to see them move out of the IZ fandom. They have three accounts on Twitter now (one for their personal art, one for their problematic ship content, and one for discourse screenshots) but I got blocked by two of them cuz I’m a minor, and they don’t want anti’s to expose their NSFW art to minors.

I understand that they want to move on, and I really hope they have a better experience with the other fandoms they’re currently in, but it kinda hurts to see that the harassment affected them so badly. I sometimes think I’m going to anger them because I drew two OCs heavily inspired by their old, problematic zadr art from their old Twitter, and it’ll look like seeing their art influenced me. Therefore, I cannot post my Vee-inspired artwork to Tumblr and Twitter cuz someone might call me out for drawing something that came from a person who doesn’t want their art to be exposed to kids.

That’s why I said I don’t like being a kid sometimes because I wanna befriend artists that I admire but cannot do so due to my age. I acknowledge that it would be best to just enjoy my childhood as much as I can though. I hope all this answers your question, and I also hope I worded everything right.

Your anti-recapkid posts are super disappointing. IDC if you don't like them, but accusing them of being a shitty person is honestly just not it. They literally were abused for years (still are being abused) and did, in fact, have their life ruined by antis. It's is pretty much entirely their fault they were out of work and had their health decline. Like yeah they constantly talk about how much they hate life because people who can't mind their own fucking business had the audacity to stalk and harass them for years and ruin any sense of safety or comfort they had. Clearly you've fallen into the nonsense anti-recapkid nonsense that got them abused in the first place. TL:DR dont care if you like them. ----------- but srsly if u did read it you'll prob get why i hate them. i hated them because they chose to double down, i hated them because they continue to create such content that will keep them away from their dream, that they continue being in unhealthy circles with terrible people because they dont want to stop and stay in their comfort zone. ofc drawing art doesn't make u a bad person but like with everything else there are limits, esp when i comes to children fictional or not. what happened to them is horrible and i wish them a better life but there is only so much you can excuse before you realize that they're also the problem to their own life.

Shit, sometimes I am really surprised by how AWFUL people can be and that really disgusts me.

Even if you don't agree with the content someone is doing, if they aren't hurting anyone you have NO RIGHT to harass them!

You can dislike a shipp. You can feel uncomfortable about a shipp. There fine. But bullying someone at the point they can't feel comfortable with something that was supposed to be FUN is just plain horrible and disgusting.

The damage caused by Anti-shippers in the Invader Zim Fandom

Hey guys, Recapkid here. Remember when I promised a compilation on harassment in the fandom due to anti-shippers/fandom police a bit back? This the best I could do as one person with a lot going on in my life, but I promised I’d make this document and drop it before I left the fandom, so here it is.

Be warned going through the document there’s a lot of heavy material in it because it’s all things coming straight from the mouths of a group of people looking to hurt others. While I know this can’t fix anything hopefully it can at least expose the extent of how bad it is and make more people aware.

I am sure this document does not even begin to cover the full scope of it at all because many people have had more personal experiences, and I had to leave out some of the stories that were more convoluted in their explaining in favor of stuff that was more direct and to the point, but it’s a start.

I was really heartbroken to see so much harassment take place in this fandom, and I wish there was more I could have done. Hopefully though putting this out there in the open in a compiled place will at least shed some light to what anti-minded people (and yes there are definitely shippers that are anti-minded) end up perpetuating. Especially going forward into other fandoms I want people to be aware of what is happening.  This sort of behavior should never be acceptable and it’s sad that fandom, my and many others safe space, had turned into such a hostile environment over the years. I remember back when fandom used to be very chill and fun for the most part. At this point it’s harrowing to try to figure out how to even begin to undo the damage fandom police have caused.
