what is your fav recom x recom ship ?

Quaritch X Lyle. The blind devotion, the heart eyes, knowing someone completely and loving them still. The man has a kid[albiet from his maker, his predecessor] and he shows hes willing to see that through. Their dynamic interests me greatly.

They will fight side by side through this war and I just know when Quaritch betrays the RDA he will do the same. Thats his man.

I started this as a quick sketch and thought about a quick background, but again, as always, I can't seem to let something unfinished, so here it is.

Maybe I could've done better on some parts of the lightings, but I'm still very proud of how it turned out, especially for the background ! I'm getting out of my comfort zone, trying new things and actually thinking it's not that bad, I think it's an amazing step for me !

So, just a sketch in the AU where Miles would get to the North Pole, and would end up in my Resistance group. A new land, and new dangers. So he got the best teacher to tell him everything he needs to know to not get chomped !

I’ve never been that invested in player-coach relationship, but with Carlos and Juanki it’s so different, it warms my heart. I can’t imagine them with different players or coaches, they fit so well together, it’s a dad and his son 😭

I was trying to answer coherently, as to why they also made me invested, but i can't fully put it into worlds. I don't know if this makes sense. Beyond not knowing them of course, the tiny bits i see show they are different, yet they still found in each other exactly what they needed.

relationships are not a tag, a name, they are mutable and complex. What they fullfil in each other is so variable, their conversations are "coach to player", yet the closeness and their age difference says "oh, they are father and son", but sometimes you heard them speak and looks like they are "an older brother picking on his younger brother and vice-versa", but sometimes both act like children and "as best friends". an early coaching could also be fatal and doomed, the emotional imput could not be positive; yet these two have a positive, understanding, kind connection that only reflects greatness and goodness. i think that it is why you can never see them with anyone else: the relationship has evolved beyond the transational and momentary and exchangable relationship that is the usual coach-player diagram, while still being coach/player.

(and with carlos growing up and their discrepances, yet juanki has not preached an abusive parent/coach mentality of "you're going to do and be what I want you to be". even in the doc he ends up breaking his bias in favour of understanding Carlos and wants the best for him while respecting his personality )
