A big part of my OCD experience is having a strong aversion to handling highly touched objects. I still can touch things when I need to. The world does not cater to my obsessive fear of germs, so I have adapted.

I still can open doors, but I may use my wrist, elbow, sleeve, or shirt to touch door handles instead of using my hands to touch them directly. If it is a push door, I push the door open with my foot or elbow.

Well, during pandemic times, there’s been a gradual rise in conscientiousness about the spread of germs.

So there was this McDonald’s that I would visit occasionally to pick up Uber deliveries, and they had a normal door. But also, they had a sticker pointing down to a foot pedal that could be used to open the door specifically for the purpose of protecting your hands from contaminated surfaces. It was like, this simple metal attachment that you hook your toes under and pull the door open.

The foot pedal was very light and easy to use, and the door wasn’t very heavy either. It feels soooo amazing to have a single door at a random McDonald’s that caters to my very specific experience. So to be honest, every time I saw that specific McDonald’s I was always giving it bedroom eyes. “Ohhh, I can’t wait to open the McDonald’s foot pedal door.” Every time.

It is the most beautiful door I’ve ever seen. It’s the most pleasurable experience with a door I’ve ever had. And Idk if McDonald’s is trying to seduce me, I don’t even eat McDonald’s very often at all, but if they are trying to seduce me they have very well succeeded by spoiling me with the most perfect door of all time.

AND THEY LEFT THAT OUT OF THE TV SHOW??? THAT'S THE MOST GAYASS LINE IN THIS MOVIE. Like I get that this is also the movie that said "Remarkable boy, I think I'll eat your heart" but that's Hannibal. WILL is out here saying that he attracted and formed a close relationship with Hannibal, I am SCREAMING and CRYING

ok yeah this post by @hyunota has me crazy now about this because at first I thought 'it'll fade because they ate all the monster parts, that was the point right?' but then remembered the little dragon. that she picks up in that field and carries with her by choice. and of course her feathers and fangs but... that little dragon. she takes it with her on purpose, whether she fully understands what it means at the time or not. she has a little dragon inside her forever, and everything about the imagery of that chapter tells us she cradles and takes care of it.

idk. it has me thinking about the realisation that the curse is affecting her, that she has this part inside her that is repelled from her brother, and still loving and accepting that part of herself. accepting it deliberately.

there's also the knowlegde that that same part of her is one that laios loves. i wonder if she'd even take comfort in knowing that she's keeping a monster close to him (herself). defying the curse in a small way.

leon having a charizard is such a hit or miss for me because i 100% believe the theory they did it purely for merchandising but my “i need everything to have a deeper meaning” brain also loves the idea of one of the strongest trainers in the franchise having a starter pokemon as an ace. it goes against the idea that most champions have a pseudo as their ace and in a way it shows that absolutely anyone (very similar to what i also believe red’s purpose is) can become the strongest.

Kazul is such an amazingly polite snake. We have a little morning (well, 11am-noon) ritual where after she notices I’ve come out and sat down on the couch, she will come out and press up against the glass with her nose and belly.

this is her signal to me that she wants the door OPENED! And so I will go over and unlatch the door and then go sit back down on the couch again. And she will poke her little head out and sit there, maybe stretch her neck so she can sniff a leaf or (in todays case) put 7-8 inches of neck out to look straight at the floor and check out what’s going on out of her usual line of sight. She’ll do a lap of her tank then come back to the front and look out a little longer, until she decides she’s done and goes back into one of her hides, at which point I close the door again. she’s never once tried to escape while I’m not looking or knock things over, even if I forget it’s open and wander away to do a chore and come back an hour later to see it’s still open (oops).

Sometimes I put a drying rack in front of the tank so she can climb out if she likes, but she’s only done that 2 or 3 times ever. Mostly all she wants is to poke her head out and feel included, and is satisfied after that. when I eventually get another snake I don’t know how i’ll cope if they’re a troublemaker or less well behaved.

Who asks about leveling up at the end of almost every session, even if the encounter only involved tripping over a rock in sight of a skittish Deku scrub and scaring the poor fella away?
