something about how the only two times we ever see akechi without his gloves in persona 5 royal are in the opening movie when he's lying on the ground next to akira and in his social link when he throws one of his gloves at akira and demands a duel. and even then, he hides his hand behind his back immediately after. like even though he's willingly showing his true self he's still trying to hide it in a way.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
something something symbolism for how the only time akechi is truly open is when he's with akira. i dont have coherent thoughts at midnight.

Wind Breaker breaks so many of your typical shonen tropes, but one I'm thinking about today is that no one loses their shirt. No one fights shirtless. No one's shirt gets blown or exploded off.
The only shirtless scene we get is with Kaji, and the gaze of the scene isn't objectifying. He got wet, so he took his shirt off.
Tumblr media
Sometimes we get a little bit of skin when someone's shirt rides up, but that's it. Wind Breaker isn't weird about it. These are teenage boys. They are allowed to look cool, to be cool, and they're all objectively handsome, but they aren't objectified. And I love that.

Call me crazy but "Girasol" from Nasa Histoires reminds me to Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi (Lu Guang's POV):
"My sunflower can't stop crying 'cause it knows thats is dying
Slow, slowly but it's petals are falling
And I, I can't help but feel guilty
Of that anounced death, so cruel and merciless which distresses my flower
I'm sorry, now I undestand it. You stole my breath away and I stole your life.
I'm sorry, now I undestand it, my love. You stole my breath and I stole your life.
My sunflower don't want to smile 'cause it's leaves are withering, it's dreams and its smiling pistils.
— Bridge
Even when it's have a nice vase still is a cage, a hole.
But I love it, I love it so much that I took the risk and stole it from the field.
And I'm sorry now I understand it, my love. You stole my breath away and I stole your life...."
WHAT I'M TRYING TO SAY IS THAT, maybe Lu Guang doomed Cheng Xiaoshi life when they meet? Idk, music in spanish makes things to me.

(Originally a message I posted on Discord)
Very random, but I like imagining what the PTs (Phantom Thief members) were like as infants
Like, I imagine Akiren/Joker and Yusuke were very docile, chill babies,---well, until they become mobile.
Baby Yusuke being very curious about the buckets of paint his mom likes to play with, and he keeps trying to eat the paint so his mom has to move it out of reach to keep Yusuke from giving himself lead poisoning.
Akiren being an uncharacteristically chill baby. Hardly cries unless necessary, not very talkative, embodiment of "no thoughts, just vibes"
And then he learns to crawl and turns into a nosy little menace
Similarly, I like to think baby Goro would be very adventurous and nosy too. A Little detective
(Mostly because of an adorable AU Fanfic I read of Shido being a decent dad that genuinely loves his Infant Son, Goro)
I want more Baby Phantom Thieves fanfics and fan art

I think the episode from The Acolyte 1x06 - Teach/Corrupt (even though this seems like a preproduction temporary title) drinks a lot from The Last Jedi.
The Jedi are often presented as always righteous and always good and always ethically correct. When Anakin gives in into the dark side the give away message was that darkness was always in him, like an inevitable fate. That he was impulsive, and proud and couldn't let go of his attachments.
A shortcut to Anakin getting corrupted was that he did not understood the darkness in him, because none of the Jedi recognizes that darkness exists in them. That is human (or multi species in the star wars universe), that contradiction lies in us, but what is important is that no matter what might cross your head, you can always chose to do the right thing. Choosing to be good implies that you can be redeemed, that even if you have done bad actions that does not define that you always have to be on the dark side. Ultimately is why Luke cannot handle the darkness in Ben, and does not understands or knows how to deal with the darkness that this risens in himself.
Something we also see in episode vi of Obi Wan Kenobi with the Third Sister. Reva chooses not to kill Luke, not to give in into the revenge she feels.
In The Last Jedi we see this push and pull from Rey and Ben Solo. Can one be persuated into the darkness or the other persuaded into the light. Their path is not closed for or settled. Or else it wouldn't be possible for them to reflect upon their counterparts arguments. There is hope for Ben to turn for light and there is fear that Rey might join the dark side.
This is also an interesting exercise in The Acolyte. They shows us in episode 3, the childhood of the sisters, their foundations, where Osha is presented as in light, and Mae as in darkness. That is inate in them and predestines their futures (hell, even the name of the episode is "destiny") but by episode 6 this is not such as straightforward, as both of them reflect on their paths and values.
Nothing that Qimir says is particularly wrong, the arguments he uses are coherent and coesive, the same way Palpatine makes complete sense to Anakin. Because these characters are not allowed to feel this less than pristine feelings they go "well shit, if he is evil and he sees this in me, I must be evil too". Moreover, because they are not prepared for the evil within, they do not know how to identify it and resist it. Corruption it's easy. It's easy to fall into and easy to justify it to ourselves, especially when we do not recognise ourselves as vulnerable to it.
Depending how they go about the next episodes of The Acolyte I think it might be an interesting battle between good and evil. After all both lie within us.

if you love shuake role reversal AU...
how exactly do you imagine Akiren as a detective?
thoughts and ideas below
at first I never tried to read this trope but then I realized it could be fun to force Akechi to make friends, plus if you erase his knowledge of who his father might be, it's possible to steer him towards different goals.
however, idk how Akiren would act as a detective! giving him the detective prince persona (charming, polite, witty, talkative) feels boring to me because in the end the shuake feels like it's just third semester goro dating his own detective prince persona.
I do like to take characters and throw them in completely different situations though, I believe with the right context you can push characterization a lot.
one idea I had was to make akiren go into the metaverse while he's still very young, and he accidentally makes a bad person have a mental shutdown (like he didn't know what would happen if he killed that shadow) since the death is suspicious and cognitive research is happening, eventually someone figures out akiren is responsible, and Shido manipulates him into working with him to make up for that terrible thing he did. then he'd use akiren for spying and influencing his enemies. not for killing because I feel like it'd take a lot to turn akiren into a murderer if he isn't doing it for something super important and to save someone else and having all that character development before shuake even meets is boring to me.
so anyway, akiren still would need to be famous to access more of mementos but how would he use his personality for this? what would an interview with him sound and look like?
that's where I get stuck and I haven't found a fic I like in which I feel like he's really akiren at the beginning

“I just want to make something fun and experiment” yeah sure buddy (but seriously I bullshitted this whole thing)
I am not a believer that Ryuji would wear a wedding dress, but if he imagined a wedding with Ren he’d probably end up picturing himself in a dress. I mean I drew him like that due to the reference image but y’know I can make up reasonings

i think a video essay on comedy in mcyt specifically comparing the king ren arc in hc s9 to the sheriff arc in esmp2 would be amazing but it can't exist on principle of it fundamentally pitting creators against eachother but god that dissection would be so so juicy

I just had a random thought. If Riley (from Inside Out) put on a headset (like in The Amazing Digital Circus) would she end up in the digital circus, would her emotions end up there, or would they all end up there and co-exist (with new digital forms) within the digital circus??

are all shapes all the same species or is each shape a different species entirely
this also applies to the heroes
also im assuming cube is the only round-edged cube shape (or atleast the only one we've seen) so that brings the question of if hes simply genetically deformed or if he's maybe a hybrid of a square and a sphere or something (considering the fact he's able to keep up with Lythorus who I assume must be pretty fast since he's basically just a circle with spikes I'm willing to bet Cube might be a hybrid?)
