I need you all to know that Damien from The Bright Sessions is definitely cluster B (ASPD and/or NPD) and YES he a villain and all the characters hate him but I love him sm he deserved better and at least to me hes a very sympathetic villain (as in I sympathize with him, not that he is sympathetic to others).

I really need someone to get what I'm talking about here bc I personally think hes a really great character and good cluster B rep, esp because he DOES have those toxic traits and he isnt always (or even usually) trying to be a good person but you get a glimpse into his motivations and desires and feelings and GOD I feel things ab him.

OKAY it has been a day of being sad and panicky. Time to move.

Yesterday, I made a post detailing the cdc announcement that there will no longer be an isolation requirement for covid. If you are one of the thousands of people rightfully raging in my notes, here's some steps to focus on.

We're not gonna give up. I've seen quite a few comments with things like 'what's the point', 'why should I even try anymore' etc etc and what we're not gonna do is give them what they want! It helps the eugenics cause to be apathetic and listless. We've made it this far, we will continue to make it. I know it's hard, but I am at least right here with you. Give yourself whatever time you need to grieve, and then I need you to get up.

If you have stopped masking for any reason, or you haven't upgraded to a respirator style mask, now is the time to change or start. From now on, we will be living in a country where you could assume there are multiple covid positive people in the room with you at all times. Surgical masks will not handle that load, and cloth masks will be even less effective at that point. Obviously, this is an unprecedented situation we're putting these masks in, and I'm not gonna sit here and pretend to be an expert that can tell you with certainty that even respirators will hold up with this amount of viral load for a long period of time, but it's the best and strongest tool we have. I'm considering using my p100 more, so that's always something to consider as well (and they make you look like a cool raver when you wear them!!!). You can buy all sorts of masks here, there's more links in the comments of my original post, and most states have their own mask blocs. To find them, go to Instagram and type "[your state] mask bloc". Here is a google doc of verified advocacy groups and mask blocs all across the country here is a diy fit test kit you can buy for $30 (unfortunately they are sold out right now. shocker.) PLEASE remember to take a layered response in these times. Masks are not the only tool in our arsenal. PLEASE for the love of God keep up with your vaccinations. Make a corsi-rosenthal box or buy a high quality air purifier if you can afford it--at the very least our homes can be safe havens (you can even put a hepa filter on your furnace!!!! And in your car too!!!!!). Use CPC Mouthwash, nasal irrigation, and nasal sprays like this one. Make it a routine: you come home, you shower, you brush your teeth, you rinse your nose, you change your clothes. And, like I said in another one of my posts, DO NOT TAKE OFF THE MASK.

3. If you would like an outlet for your rage and you're into calling your reps, feel free to calmly but firmly let the cdc have it at these numbers!!!!!

4. If you need more outlets for your rage, I STRONGLY encourage you to get involved with your local union. Moreso than calling the CDC, tbh. I've seen multiple comments telling people just to lie about your symptoms to get more sick time off, but since there's no legal precedent to allow employees sick time for covid, all that's gonna do is get people fired. I truly believe in my lefty heart that the ONLY way we're getting anything close to mitigation is through labor rights. Even the standard for the fucking flu is 3 days, and that's nowhere near as contagious or disabling as covid. I say this as a high risk person with a neuromuscular disability: covid is an intersectional issue, but where we have the most leverage to get what we need is through labor rights.

It is NOT safe for workers to be working while ill with a Level 3 Biohazard (same as TB and the FUCKING PLAGUE. Seriously we have more regulations around fucking lice)

It is NOT safe to willfully EXPOSE your employees to a Level 3 Biohazard

It is NECESSARY for all employees to be allowed up to 10 days to recover fully from Covid-19, in order to avoid possible further injury from or hospitalization

You will NOT die or be disabled for the sake of the wealthy!!!!!

(and while you're at it, ask for better air filtration too!!!! At least 5 air changes an hour, MERV-13 air filters!! Then we won't have to constantly worry about virus bs and policy changes in the first place!!!!)

5. Closing statements. Nothing has changed with covid, this is just policy. Covid still isn't magic, she still has to get in you before she can do damage--mask up, arm your home with clean air, and don't let her. It's always worse toward the end. This is not the time to give up, it's time to dig in your heels and get to work. There are so many good things happening with covid. They are finding encouraging treatments for long covid. Finally, after years of nothing, a new prophylactic for the high risk was submitted for emergency use to the FDA, and it looks like this time it's built to last against new mutations. Covid is here to stay for the rest of our lives, but the real science hasn't given up on taking the worst of its teeth out. We WILL get to the point where the extreme fear of catching covid is nothing but a bad memory for EVERYONE. All I need you to do is commit to the belief that you're gonna survive long enough to be in that moment with the rest of us.

Now stay safe, and give em hell!!!!!

White Chocolate Pistachio Brownies with Rose and Cardamom

A prayer for Free Palestine

INGREDIENTS

8 oz (226 g) high quality white chocolate bars, chopped, or chips

3⁄4 cup (168 g) unsalted butter, chopped into small cubes

2 eggs

2 egg yolks

1 1⁄4 cups (250 g) granulated white sugar

1 tablespoon (15 ml) vanilla extract

1 3⁄4 cups (219 g) all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled, or weighed

3⁄4 teaspoon salt

1/2-1 cup of roughly chopped unsalted pistachios

A lot of powdered sugar

Rose Water

3-4 cardamom pods

3 Tbs of whole milk

NOTES:

I scaled the recipe up by about a third to bake them in a 9” round. I found out that they come out better if you make them square according to the recipe as is.

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Lightly grease a 9x9 pan and set aside. (You can also line the pan with parchment paper for easier removal.)

2. Melt the butter and the white chocolate together in a double boiler over medium-low heat. Stir continuously to ensure the white chocolate gets heated evenly. Then remove from the heat.

3. Add the eggs, egg yolks, sugar and vanilla to a large bowl and whisk together until pale and smooth. (You can also use an electric hand mixer on high speed to make it easier.)

4. Pour in the white chocolate mixture and whisk until combined and smooth.

5. Fold the flour and salt into the wet ingredients with a rubber spatula just until combined. Then fold in the pistachios.

6. Pour the white chocolate brownie batter into the prepared pan. Use a mini offset spatula to smooth the batter out.

7. Bake the brownies for 30-35 minutes. Then let the brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.

8. Once cool, use a butter knife to loosen the edges of the brownies from the pan, and turn over to gently release. Cut into 16 squares.

9. Make the rose and cardamom drizzle. Warm the milk in a saucepan and break open the cardamom pods. Simmer them in the milk on very low heat until the flavor has infused. Usually 15 minutes to a half hour. Taste the milk to confirm.

10. Strain out the cardamom pods and let the milk cool to room temperature. Add 1/4 tsp rosewater to the milk (you can add more later if you want a rosier flavor) and begin adding powdered sugar. Add a quarter cup to start and stir until no lumps remain. Continue adding powdered sugar until you get a nice thick drizzle-able consistency. Taste and adjust the rosewater content if necessary.

11. Split the icing into two batches. Add pink food coloring to one and green food coloring to the other.

12. Put each icing into separate sandwich bags/piping bags. Cut a very small hole in the corner and use the bag to pipe the icing. Alternatively, you can just use a fork to do the drizzle. Allow to set.

13. Call your reps and demand a permanent ceasefire in Gaza. Go to protests. Boycott Starbucks, HP, Puma, Sodastream and the other companies that support the violence against Palestinians, found at this link. Do everything you can. Don’t look away.

And he basically says he hit kripke up for a job on TB then kripke said he would write him a part then decided he wanted him for a bigger part so he sent him SB and Jensen wanted to do it and the studio wanted a bigger name but eric told him they could confine them so Jensen put himself on tape and sent it to eric only and he noted him and he did it again and sent it to him again, and he noted him again and they did it about 4 times before they sent it to casting.

Now I understand why this flew over my head, because I was having tiny brain explosions every time Jensen said, "Deadline mole".

Jensen: they got moles everywhere.

Uh huh.  So when did Jared changed his pronouns to “they”?  You know that Jared doesn’t just have one beauty mole next to his nose, right?

Anyways, so this was what Jensen meant when he said he had to work hard for the role, which AAs took to mean he auditioned like a regular shmuck and that Kripke didn't simply gave him the role.

The truth is somewhere in between. No, Jensen did not do one audition and blew the casting director away, sorry AAs.  Kripke basically conducted his own private audition complete with callbacks.  Actors in the running for a role will be called back to do “recall audition”, those are supposed to build upon the first audition and provide further clarity as to the actor’s fitness for the role.  But thing about callbacks is you’re not supposed to change anything.  The casting director brought you back because your type and performance worked for the character and for the tone of the show.  Of course sometimes actors are given notes for the callback, which was Jensen’s case and he had 4 callbacks in an audition that only had 1 actor.

Anthony Starr said he made his audition tape “almost out of spite” for his reps and afterwards he was told that Kripke loved it.   Usher sent his most hated audition tape and was shocked that Kripke loved it.   Laz Alonso also said he auditioned once.  Chase Crawford said he was last to come in behind “100 names” to audition and mentioned Kripke “gave good notes”.  Chase thought he was getting a callback to do a screen test but was told Kripke was going to use the first audition tape and Chase was, “Oh shit!  Is that it?”  Karl Urban said he “set up a meeting with Eric and Seth Rogan and decide there and then I was going to be a part of it.”  Jack Quaid has a call back, a chemistry read, then another call back and calling it “memorable”.  Aya Cash said she auditioned once, along with bunch of “girls in the waiting room certainly didn’t look like me”.  Aya’s character was the equivalent of season two’s Solider Boy.

So by all accounts nearly all of the cast had one audition or one meeting with Kripke but it was still on the studio and producers to pick the actors and seal the deal.

As far as I know Erin Moriarty (Starlight) and Jensen were the only actors that Kripke took time to coach through their audition process.   Erin Moriarty had a screen test with Kripke that went on for 90 minutes.  She described it as a marathon as Kripke made her do each scene seven times in different ways.  He told her afterwards, “no matter what the studio decides, we’re rooting for you and I’m rooting for you and I want you for this.” The difference is Eric plays the audience surrogate, along with Jack Quaid, so casting the right actress is absolutely important.  

Kripke wanted Jensen for the role because he's hoping the $PN fans will keep rewatching/talking about The Boys after the last episode drop. The original fans aren't rewatching it, thus ensuring The Boys won't have a cultural impact and disappear into the ether once the series finale drops. Remember kids, there is no syndication in streaming. Kripke makes of his money from Supernatural syndication and he's suing for percentage of the license sales to streaming. Now you know why he gave Jensen his immediate blessing for the SPN prequel.

When I was a lad, and FNaF 2 was being teased--I saw Toy Bonnie, assumed she was gonna be a girl, and refused to believe otherwise. Even when it was confirmed that she was a 'guy', I just...ignored that, because I knew what being trans was, and I was like "That's what TB is! She's trans!" (100% HC many robos as trans, and enby at this time, but TB was the one I thought about the most.) It's a bit silly of me, I know, but to this day I can't see Toy Bonnie as anything but a lovely trans lady. ♡

Looking back onto my attitude to TB as a child I always thought that they were a man who liked to present femme as TB was confirmed as a man and I didn’t like going against what Scott confirmed because I was a die hard theorist which meant following what was presented in canon to a T or be humiliated by the at the time 20 year olds in the fandom; but I feel nowadays that I headcanon them as nonbinary as I’ve noticed some of the ways I present myself matches their own and I’m sorta questioning myself again atm but ig the closest label for me would be genderfluid! Anyways enough about me-

You’re completely valid!! It’s been so nice in recent years seeing all the lgbtq rep people such as yourself have been applying to the robos!! As a trans person who kins a few characters it’s so heartwarming because I know that if it was like this when I was younger I probably wouldn’t of been in the closet so long and in a love-hate relationship with myself so just knowing that there’s someone out there who’ll look at a character they love, like yourself with TB and them being a trans woman in your eyes, it almost makes the struggle of being a trans kid worth it cause it makes the overall acceptance of HCs like this more accepted in the community, especially by our cishet allies.

Hi! Former DBD player here - it's a fun game that I played almost every weekend for a few hours (for several months... I'd be willing to say almost a year actually) but the playerbase is extremely toxic to the point where there's no way you can play the game and not get insulted in the endgame chat. If being called terrible things because you had the audacity to be good (or bad) at the game (on either side) would affect you, I'd recommend not playing the game. But there's so much more.

I have a computer with a 1 TB harddrive and really good processor and it had a hard time playing the game. It would take full days to update every time they released a patch. Soon, my computer was very slow and not working. I checked my space and realized that half of my computer's space was being taken up. Since I needed to get rid of unnecessary programs, I deleted DBD and I lost a full quarter of that full computer harddrive space. I could almost feel my computer breathing a sigh of relief when it was gone and it started functioning properly again.

The devs also don't really know how to program a game, leading to the game breaking frequently, typically whenever they release a new update. These breaks can last anywhere from days to weeks depending on how the devs handle it. A lot of people theorize that they have a working version of the game and that after DBD breaks, they'll release basically DBD 2, leaving anybody who played DBD basically SOL.

Oh also the devs have been known to take any critique towards them or their game extremely personally to the point where one of them actually went into the account of a Fog Whisperer (one of the Twitch streamers they pay to rep their game by playing it every single stream and blow smoke up the dev's asses) and deleted his custom skins that they game him, then said Fog Whisperer found out he wasn't a Fog Whisperer anymore through a Twitter post iirc. The dev team has also split up friendships due to another Fog Whisperer losing his status (also for pointing out how much the game breaks due to spaghetti code). He had a friend on the DBD team (I believe in marketing but it's been a while since I paid attention to DBD) and that friend was forced to stop being his friend and mod due to a "conflict of interest."

tl;dr it's a fun game but I genuinely cannot recommend getting into it

hey thank you so much for the advice!!! mostly i wanted to get into it for funsies since an irl friend has been asking to play together, so as long as the game is fun idm if it breaks often . in terms of insults, i must shamefully admit that ive been playing an insane amount of overwatch 2 with two of the people closest to me and having a crazy joyful blast despite the fact that the players are some of the most insufferable people on God's Green Earth .

so yeah i think ill be alright if i do decide to get it!!! but its a big Maybe considering i already have a huge backlog. i dont really think ill get too invested in it outside of playing with my friends so hopefully its aaaall good.

Lodge of Agriculture 1199 who meet in the Yatton Temple here in the Province of Somerset.

The Adair Club the official light blues club of Somerset had a fraternal visit to this wonderful lodge last night, lead by our Chairman Mike Norton and Secretary Craig Harding, myself and Chris Cook as the NW Reps we had a wonderful night amongst friends, good men and worthy Freemasons.

We saw a second degree ceramony that really was wonderful for our bro Les, every officer doing a brilliant job from the master down, special mention of Charlie S for a brilliant rendition of the TB.

The festive board or after meeting was awesome, jovial, inspirational with nice food and wine and great company.

Lots of money raised for local causes too.
