[ jeremy allen white, cis man, he/him. ] ✧・゚ is that [ CLEMENT ROCHE ] who just stumbled into town? rumour has it that they’re the [ TWENTY-EIGHT ] year old child of [ REMY ] from [ RATATOUILLE ]. i’ve also heard that they’re [ DEDICATED ] but [ STUBBORN ] and have [ 2 ] siblings. i could almost swear i heard [ REPONDEZ-MOI - GJON’S TEARS ] playing when they appeared.
full name: clement roche.
nicknames: clem.
gender: cis man.
pronouns: he/him.
sexuality: bisexual.
age: twenty-eight.
date of birth: january 11th.
zodiac sign: capricorn.
aesthetics: the sounds of a bustling kitchen, heat radiating off of a stove, beads of sweat lining the forehead, the feeling of eating a warm meal after a hard day, aprons covered in stray bits of indigents.
parents: remy from ratatouille.
siblings: emile roche and one other younger sibling.
𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐘.
for someone who looks as tired as clement roche does, you wouldn’t think his childhood was very ideal but it was. in fact, most of his happier memories come from his youth. he was basically raised inside the kitchen of his father’s restaurant: la ratatouille. as a child, he would watch his father cook and admire the care that went into each dish he made. it was interesting to see the pure joy that appeared on the faces of humans and rats alike when they had a delicious meal, cherishing each bite. that look was one of the things that motivated him to follow in his father’s footsteps. he learned everything he possibly could from the other, hoping one day that he would be able to make others as happy as his father did with his cooking.
he grew up being extremely close to his younger siblings and the children of the sous chef at his father’s restaurant, colette. but as the years went on and clem began taking on more responsibilities not only around the house but at the restaurant, it was almost like a piece of himself disappeared. it was difficult for him to keep up with the stress of working in a busy kitchen, often being far too hard on himself. if everything wasn’t just right, he would always blame himself for it and even punish himself. he would go nights without sleep, trying to come up with the next exciting recipe for the restaurant. it got to a point where he began to lose his passion and motivation toward cooking.
that passion only returned when he discovered his proclivity for baking. he found joy in making pastries, cakes, and other delightful treats in his free time. it started as something to help his stress cravings and turned into a perfect distraction. while he dreamt of possibly working with his younger sister lynette to open a bakery with her one day, he knew that was merely a pipe dream. someone had to step in to fill his father’s shoes at the restaurant and due to the fact lynette had her own dreams, clem took the responsibility for himself. fear of disappointing his father and not continuing on their family’s legacy of sorts was more important than following his silly little dreams.

As a third culture kid, répondez-moi cuts so deeply. Someone cut into my heart and laid out all the emotions in a song. It’s such a beautiful song and deserves a bigger platform than Eurovision. I really hope he goes onto big things after this.

About my third winner this year
Switzerland = Repóndez moi
This song is a MASTERPIECE. Tune, lyrics, voice. Pure quality. Totally in French (I adore French language!!). So touching. I’d LOVE Gjon’s to win too!!! I’d dare to say Repóndez moi is the best composition this year, and I’d be sure he would be the winner this year if it wan’t for the fact a ballad won last year
Time will tell

Another ESC Award 2020 for Folical Challenges

SWITZERLAND
REPONDEZ MOI - GJON'S TEARS Selection method: Internal Has it been heard live? Yes Rating: 3rd
The Swiss entry is a haunting number and to go with that Gjon is followed around by a rain cloud. They went for an artful film with people in an empty library (thanks Covid-19), through some people’s house which had a woman extinguishing a balloon and a father about to dispense discipline on a child and an old bird in a raised armchair. People arguing while the house is burning. The whole thing is a conundrum that doesn’t make complete sense. I’m sure there are metaphors about breaking of relationships and sadness of being alone, but I didn’t get that.
The song is good and many people like it. It is one of the better songs of the contest and clearly I rate it highly. I like the lyrics and I think the song is wonderfully written. I think someone else may sing it better, but it is suitable for Mr Tears and it highlights his interesting voice. I’m also quite pleased that it is in French too. The beauty of the song would have been lost in another language.

Gjon’s Tears - “Répondez-moi”
youtube
*GASP* I DON’T LOVE GJON’S TEARS!!!! JK He’s perfectly fine, imo. You guys know that I like to divide my songs according to the trafflc light scheme (green = good, yellow = meh, red = bad). “Répondez-moi” is like a very, *very* pale shade of chartreuse - I almost like it. But I do have a few caveats that prevent me committing myself to it.
Song Analysis
On the surface, this is a lowkey brilliant entry. “Répondez-moi” is very cleverly put together, using Gjon’s wide register to create a gender-ambiguous, emotionally ridden tone, further reinforced by a simple, yet effective flurry of guitar strings and edm percussive noises.
Ho boy, two paragraphs in and I’m already otno the technical stuff - probably the biggest indicator of how unimpressed I am by this song. Good Music, snooooore where’s the funtrash at (safely tucked inside the upper half of the ranking, d’uh) I can appreciate “Répondez-moi”’s technical brilliance and I can appreciate it more here than I did with “Fai Rumore” or “Divilji Vjetre”, because unlike those two, Répondez-moi actually *is* contemporary and original. It accomplishes exactly what it sets out to do.
However, if I’m honest, the only thing I outright like is how you could argue GHOSTING as a narrative theme for this song - “I AM READY TO THROW IN THE TOWEL! ANSWER ME!!! :read at  22:23:” is a pretty fun pretend-meaning to be slapping onto this song. Sadly, I know French and I know that a lie, tragique, je sais. The real meaning, as far as I can gather is about ~the inability to come with the capriciousness of life and death~ or some pseudo-philosophical meandering spliced into the song to make it look intelligent WELL SORRY TO SAY YOUR SONG IS NOW ABOUT GRINDR GHOSTING, GJON, I HAVE *DECIDED*!!!!
“Répondez-moi” is absolutely one of those songs which are caught up by their own competency. You see, entries such as these come just barging in all “THIS IS HIGH QUALITY AND YOU WILL LIKE IT” and well, unlike the “I AM SOPHISTICATED, I USE *~*PITCHFORK*~*” crowd, I really just don’t care so long as the humanizing component I desperately need to cling to remains absent.
“Répondez-moi” feels like it is a good song, but at the same time listening to it also feels like sitting through a fucking TED-Talk. It’s the “How To Click with Everyone Every Time” amongst this batch of songs  and while I do feel like it accomplishes precisely what it sets out to be without ever being tedious or uninteresting, I don’t feel any sort of personal connection. Maybe if Gjon had some live charisma to show for (which is largely absent from the VC - maybe that’s just a Me Thing but Gjon’s muffin hair completely neuters his sex appeal for me), but alas.
Oh and, there’s another reason why I don’t rly care that much about Gjon: This year had *so many* “Répondez-moi”s (many of which didn’t even win their NFs? Carrying that torch for Moniqué, Barbora Mochowa and Dotter), and I like the gross of them more. Downside of being an internal selectee is that the journey only starts once rehearsals do.
Switzerland 2020 vs Switzerland 2021
Gjon fans claim that Gjon could’ve won ESC 2020 and well... not rly? First of all, Victoria and Roxen both exist and draw from the same votepool, so he would require better staging. Secondly, yes he got SJB, but everyone was already eating out of Victoria’s hand from the moment she was announced and besides, SJB was already busy working her magic towards making Tornike the break-out star of the year. Thirdly, BABY, I CAAAAAAAN’T WAIT TO KNOW WHADOYUTINKABOUTINGS ::twerks in teal tracksuit::
I do love the (only existing in the minds of clinically insane Eurovision nerds) pattern of “Switzerland wins every 32 contests with a French-speaking ballad” though. I guess we’ll never know :-)
oh yeah and ofc he’s back in 2021, post-Zibbz switzerland aren’t dumb.
Congratulations top 25:

Freaky! Friday! Factor!
OMG I remember when the first rumours of Gjon’s Tears came around, and a preview spoiled the Swiss song *wasn’t* in English or German (but in a language a German-Swiss man wasn’t able to recognize), there was some RAMPANT wild spec that Gjon, who is Kosovar-Swiss, might be singing in ALBANIAN AND FRENCH. 😍
Imagine how SICK that would’ve been had this actually come to fruition. Gjon wouldn’t just have murdered Arilena. He would’ve molecularly disassembled her inside a gravitron collider and then would have force-fed the substrate to Mikaela Mingle herself. That shit WOULD have been hilarious, except, it never happened, kinda like how Eurovision 2020, and me having a career never really happened.
I can (and will) hand out a few Senheads for Gjon though. Not only is “Répondez-moi” the first *truly* competent (as in: release me outside of esc and I survive in the hit parades) Swiss entrant since... idk...”Canzone per te”? “Io Senza Te”? “Ne T’en Vas Pas”??? A long, long time, probably before you and I were born. It’s also in FRENCH, not English and probably would’ve cemented Switzerland’s renaissance into a decent Eurovision country. The entry itself isn’t too exciting to me, but its potential place inside the canon definitely could have been.
Score: 3 Senhits out of 5:

As a fellow European you know what time of the year it is: EUROVISION what is the main 10 in eurovision ( only if you like eurovision) and type type type go go go uhuru
Hey anon,
I love Eurovision, and I appreciate the interest in Uhuru. Thank you.
Before I start, I just want to say that all of the Main 10 love Måneskin and their winning song Zittie E Buoni. I put hyperlinks so that everyone knows what I‘m talking about.
Main 10 and Eurovision
Tyler: Would be Norway‘s 2021 entry Tix in the green room, Tix‘s singing „Mata Hari“. As a musical act: Voices by Tusse (Sweden)
Karolina: Not from this year, but Conchita Wurst’s winning song.
Tadashi: I imagine him to be Gjon‘s Tears‘ last year entry for the ESC, „Repondez-moi“
Ellie: Finland’s 2021 entry . I can imagine her slipping into this as her alter ego, and/ or Verka singing Toy (starts at 7:07:)
Raquel: Eleni Foureira’s cover of Lasha Tumbai starts at 5:00 (Cyprus/ Runner-up in 2018)
Tegan: Go_A Shum
Axel: He’d be Damiano from Måneskin, and yes Zittie E Buoni, would be very fitting but how about their song „Vent’Anni“
Neha: I don’t know why, but Lordi’s “Hard Rock Hallelujah “ comes to my mind, maybe this is how I think Niehla often feels inside?
Alistair: Moldova’s Epic Sax guy
Claire: “I don’t feel hate” Germany 2021
Bonus:
Alistair and Tyler: Would be iconic Love Love Love Peace Peace Peace song
TNT and Ellie would be Iceland. Claire would join them.
Axel and Tadashi be like this moment. The jury votes would be Arlington’s teachers and the public Axel’s fans

What do you guys think? Please leave your thoughts below :).
Love,
MJ

My personal ESC winners (2021-2010)
And not just a regular winner post cuz I'll include all of my winners. Oooohhhhh
As if I don't talk too much already lmao. Just wanted to list all of my faves of every single year bcs I freaking love ESC and talking about it.
• 2021: Måneskin - Zitti e buoni (Italy) 🇮🇹
What can I say? These guys are awesome and totally rad, they had a great fuckign show and their energy is super chaotic, if this isn't perfect then idk what it is. And Italy just really deserved to win after having so many good songs but never scoring past 2nd place. Props to them <3
My runner up: Voila (France) 🇫🇷
• 2020: The Roop - On fire (Lithuania) 🇱🇹
Oh how I love quirky out of the box entries, they were my absolute favorites and I was so sad they didn't get to be on stage anymore because of illustrious covid19 :) Another country who underperforms, and they had a real chance that year to score Lithuania's best result since 2006. F in chat.
My runner up: Repondez-moi (Switzerland) 🇨🇭
• 2019: KEiiNO - Spirit in the sky (Norway) 🇳🇴
Yeah, I said it before a bajillion times and won't elaborate more, when I first heard this song I immediately got out of depression and my life had a new meaning. Plus I really love Keiino and their personalities, been following them since 2019 until now. Long story short, love them so much, and I'm still happy for their televote win.
My runner up: Arcade (Netherlands) 🇳🇱
• 2018: Studio version: Yianna Terzi - Oniro Mou (Greece) 🇬🇷; Live version: DoReDos- My lucky day (Moldova) 🇲🇩
Oh what do we have here? Not one but two winners? Yeah, can't believe either. Greece would be my pick, only the studio version. It's just so beautiful and ethnic, very soulful and divine. A real tragedy this didn't live up to the live version, it came off as empty and underwhelming...
Moldova would be my 2nd pick. Just like the other fans, I didn't like this when it first came out, because I thought it sounded like a typical wedding cheap trash song also known in my country as muzică lăutărească, which in my opinion back then should stay away from this contest because it brings a bad rep to our countries. Yep, what the hell, me. But as soon as I saw the stage show and the magical wall, it won me, and grew on me every single time I watched that video of their live performance. Geezus, can Moldova teach us to elevate our entries with amazing live performances? It would help us so much. Thx in advance bros.
• 2017: Joci Papai - Origo (Hungary) 🇭🇺
Me, a Romanian tm having a Hungarian winner should be illegal (/j), but holy shit, this was a true winner's performance for me. Still, I love it as much as Yodel it, but in terms of stage performance and emotional delivery, this wins. Heck, I love that dancer (which is also Joci's wife, how cute <3 ) and the background design. This is perfect.
My runner up: Yodel it (Romania) 🇷🇴
• 2016: Iveta Mukuchyan - Lovewave (Armenia) 🇦🇲
What a genius stage show. Great effects, wonderful build-up, amazing vocals. This song was killing the stage, and I knew it will be my fave since I've first listened to the lineup of 2016. The violin in the bridge gives me chills every time.
My runner up: If love was a crime (Bulgaria)
• 2015: Loïc Nottet - Rythm Inside (Belgium) 🇧🇪
I'm a certified Loïc fan, tell me how can he sing so well laying on the ground. Like oml, that whole performance was a-fucking-mazing and flawless. Also his expressions give me life 😂
My runner up: Goodbye to yesterday (Estonia) 🇪🇪
• 2014: Sanna Nielsen - Undo (Sweden) 🇸🇪
Want to make me cry a Niagara? Play this song at any given time. Also the crowd singing along with her...powerful 😭
My runner up: Hunter of stars (Switzerland) 🇨🇭
• 2013: Emmelie de Forest - Only Teardrops (Denmark) 🇩🇰
Beautiful flute song, this is so soothing to listen to. The clear winner of that year for me. Nothing else to add more 🧡
My runner up: I feed you my love (Norway) 🇸🇯
• 2012: Loreen - Euphoria (Sweden) 🇸🇪
A classic 👏👏👏 the choreography, the vocals, the synthpop sound, it's amazing. The thing is that it kind of grew off me in the past year, like I listened to this so many times lmao 😅 I still love it but I don't feel to praise it as much as I did once. Still an undeniable icon of this contest for sure.
My runner up: Crno I Belo (North Macedonia) 🇲🇰
• 2011: Raphael Gualazzi - Madness of love (Italy) 🇮🇹
Yes I know I said in the 2011 top that Germany was my winner but I take that back, I love both equally but if I really have to choose, I have to give the win to Italy, because this song really is the definition of madness. Love this wacky artistic feel it has. This should have totally won that year, and it was so close 😭😭
My runner up: Taken by a stranger (Germany) 🇩🇪
• 2010: Paula Seling & Ovi - Playing with fire (Romania) 🇷🇴
Chaotic king and queen of Romania, and a total icon of ours at this contest. I cannot not love the piano for two and power vocals. My absolute winner, even if it's my own country. Idc. Forget the Lena vs Manga war, I'm team Romania all the way. 🔥
My runner up: We could be the same (Turkey) 🇹🇷
