In the wake of all the epic Disassembly Drone headcanons I’ve been seeing (istg I am GOBBLING THEM I AM MUNCHING THEM I AM SLURPING THEM LOVINGLY THROUGH A STRAW-) I’d like to present some of my own that randomly struck me!
- There were DD prototypes and others before the ones we have now, and they developed a little system of hand/wing/tail gestures to silently convey questions/commands when they needed to (i.e. when they might have needed to coordinate attacks)
- Like, pointing a finger at someone and then giving a single, deliberate tail flick is a signal for that specific drone to follow them, a single long sweep of the tail means “spread out”, and pointing forward with any sort of weapon-hand is the ultimate signal to attack.
- They’ve also got some other like. militaristic, encoded ways of describing things like time
- This system was used so much it pretty much became part of the DDs’ software, so it ended up getting passed down to the current trio when they were repurposed
- N teaches Uzi some of these gestures and codes at some point as a lil ✨bonding thing✨, but they also came up w/ some of their own to be used in more just. day-to-day life (I could totally see them as the type to make up secret codes that only they know the meaning to. like. there ends up being several situations where they’ve used them around V in convos w/ her and she’s just. baffled)
- A lot of DDs have their own individual little tics and gestures; for example, @thecosmiccrow brought up the idea of N holding his tail like a stuffed animal for comfort, and I like to imagine V sort of. unconsciously brings out her knife claws if she’s angry/frustrated enough

So in episode 2 when Ashley was looking through the backdoors, she sees Rocket in one of rooms. Now I was trying to come up with an explanation for this since I’ve emphasized the only one who hangs out back there is Bon. And then I came up with this humdinger… there’s TWO Rockets!
Well, kind of. In my AU Rocket was originally designed as a semi puppet animatronic to act as Boozoo’s magic rabbit, but he was eventually scrapped in favor of the simpler and more friendly design of Snowball. Edd and Molly at that time were REALLY bugging their parents about getting a stuffed animal, and we know how kids can get when they want something. So I imagine one day Jack was venting to Felix about this and Felix comes up with the idea to repurpose Rocket’s design into a plushie. In this AU he made plushies in college for extra cash so he already had all the skills he needed to do so. He also added some more robotic features like blinking and being able to open its mouth.
So in an ironic and deliciously tragic twist of fate, Felix ended up making the very vessel Edd and Molly would go on to possess after he killed them.
A couple notes:
Only the plushie version of Rocket is possessed. The animatronic one is not
The Snowball animatronic, along with everyone’s cyberfun consoles and voice boxes, were stored separately in one of the closets in the back doors

How do you make stuffed animals? I’ve bought a pattern for less complicated animals, but you made that blorbo and I don’t think there are any templates for that? What should be my next step in developing my animal making skills?
Hey! This answer is probably going to get pretty long, so it's going below a read more
You're right, I did not use a pre-existing pattern for the blorbo plushie. There's a couple different methods people use to create plushie patterns; if you find you don't like the method I use, that doesn't mean you can't make plushies! Keep trying until you find methods that work for you In my experience, the best way to develop skills in plushie pattern making is to sew a bunch of different plushies. While you use patterns, look at how the pieces look in 2D on the paper and how the end up in 3D in the finished plushie, and start to make a note of what it takes to make simple 3D shapes like a sphere (darts or different segments), a cube (six squares), a cylinder (a rectangle with two circles for the end pieces) If creating a new pattern entirely from scratch seems too much to start with, you can repurpose pieces of other patterns*! I've got a fluffy ostrich-y bird pattern that's just a pattern for a round dumpling for the body, a pattern for a...I think it was a snowball for the head, and then some simple rectangles to make the cylinders of the neck and legs. Another thing! A lot of plushie pattern making for simpler plushies made of knit fabric is just drawing. My manta ray patterns are just a drawing of a manta ray, plus a seam allowance added around the outside. Same with my eel pattern (mostly. it has one dart), my fish pattern, my other manta ray pattern...there's a lot of patterns you can make flat when you're starting out and use stuffing and the stretch of the fabric to make 3D. It's still what I use for simple flat pieces of patterns like wings, arms, ears, etc. That reminds me: seam allowances! I use 1/4" seam allowances, because that's what my sewing machine is set up for and it's the most common seam allowance I've seen used for plushies. You can use whatever seam allowance you want, but I have found it's a loooot easier if you have a tool you can use to add your seam allowance once you've drawn your pattern. I use two mechanical pencils taped together whose points are 1/4" apart. I put one pencil on the line I drew for the pattern, and use the other pencil to draw the line of the seam allowance. A few other tips, in no particular order but numbered so I can keep track of them 1. when matching up pieces of a pattern, make sure they match before the seam allowance is added. It'll make your life easier 2. fold paper to get symmetry in your pattern pieces 3. if you need to match a straight line to a curved line, or two curved lines together, you can use a pipe cleaner to measure the length of the curved line and then straighten the pipe cleaner to know how long to make your straight line (like matching the bottom of legs (rectangular pieces) to feet (circular pieces)) 4. If you are creating a pattern to use with a particular fabric, check how much of the fabric you have BEFORE you draw the pattern just like an inch too long to cut out of the fabric (I learned the hard way lol) 5. if you are worried your pattern won't turn out how you want it to, you can always start with monsters. There's no wrong way to make a monster plushie, you can just accidentally make a different monster than the one you intended to make. It's still a monster plushie, and that's not a bad thing to make! :D 6. if you have multiple pattern pieces coming together at the same point, like the top of a beach ball or the top of my octopus pattern, think about what angle you want that junction to form. For the octopus, I wanted the very top of it to be flat, so I made sure the pieces coming together totaled 360 degrees to be a flat circle. If I'd gone for less than 360 degrees, it would be pointed, if I'd gone for more, it would be kind of ruffled? Almost? Point is: divide the angle you want by the number of pieces you want to form that angle to get what the angle should be at the point each piece comes together *don't sell patterns made from pieces of other peoples' patterns though

DIY Stuffie Birthday Party! 3 DIY Projects!
Tumblr media
Ciao lovelies! Do you have a stuffie birthday coming up, and want to throw a party for your special stuffed animal friend? But oh no! Do you not have any supplies for a party? Fear not! Today I'm going to share 3 DIY projects that you can make for your stuffie friend for their birthday party! (Repurposed for agere content 12/5/2023, originally written by me 5/1/2020)
Let's begin by talking about what you'll need for all three projects:
Tumblr media
What You'll Need:
-Stuffies as party guests, the Birthday stuffie, and for size reference!
-Bottle caps
-Cardstock in whatever colors you like, or you can use construction paper or even recycled paper
-Scissors
-Hot glue (not pictured)
-Double sided tape (not pictured) OR glue sticks
-PomPoms
-Ribbon
-a pencil or something to draw with
-OPTIONAL: kawaii food charms (not pictured).
#1: DIY Stuffie Food: Ice Cream Sundaes / Cupcakes!
Tumblr media
Alright, I'll be honest, after I finished making these I had no idea if I wanted them to be cupcakes or Ice Cream Sundaes. But they look cute regardless!
Step One and Only One: Hot glue Pom Poms into a bottle cap. For smaller Pom Poms I glued 3 into the bottle cap and one on top. For larger ones I only used one Pom Pom glued into the bottle cap. Now use glue and embellish however you want! I used little kawaii resin food charms to add cuteness to mine, but you could use confetti as "sprinkles", you could use puffy paint as "icing," etc!
And You're Done!
#2: DIY Pennant Banner
Tumblr media
This banner looks adorable at any party!
Step One: Use a pencil to draw triangles on your choice of color of cardstock, construction paper, or recycled paper.
Tumblr media
Step Two: Cut out the triangles and trim if needed to make them all even.
Tumblr media
Step Three: Hot glue, or use a glue stick to attach them to a piece of ribbon!
And you're done!
Another easy to make yet adorable craft!
#3: DIY Stuffie Party Hats
Tumblr media
Step One: Use a round object to draw a circle on cardstock (or construction paper). Cut out the circle.
Tumblr media
Step Two: Cut the circle about in half.
Tumblr media
Step Three: Fold it into a cone, and use double sided tape to secure it (or glue!). Glue a Pom Pom to the top!
Tumblr media
Now it's time to put it all together and throw a stuffie birthday party!

As Florence grows older, her style is more in line with the trends of the 1900s. Detailed embroidery work, bell shaped skirts, and separates are all styles that she already had in her wardrobe and they all come into fashion in this decade.
She still prefers more practical clothes, and you don’t see much of the pigeon breast shilouette, billowy fabrics, or grand hats in her lookbook. When she does wear hats they are sized to cover her face from the sun and ornamented with flowers rather than the stuffed birds emblematic of the 1900s. As an animal lover, I would think that Florence would shudder at these designs.
However, there is one early 1900s trend that Florence is very fond of: menswear. In particular, she loves the shirtwaists, neck ties, and vests that have become more popular for women in this period. These appeal to her independent sentiments and are also much more practical for an active, working woman like Florence. Of course, the epitome of this is her biking outfit with its signature kickerboxkers and vest.
There is some overlap in these looks and Florence’s last lookbook. This is purposeful as she would continue to wear these same items throughout the years (she’s even repurposed her wedding top). I have included the links in both lookbooks so you don’t have to go looking between them, but I apologize to the creators I’ve tagged twice.
CC details below the cut!
Going Out: hat / hair / top / skirt / gloves (Vampires)
House Dress No. 1: hair / bangs / top / skirt / shoes
House Dress No. 2: hat / hair / top / skirt
Sleepwear: hair (SFS; creator deactivated) / dress
Party Dress: hat / top / skirt / gloves
Athletic: hair / top / knickerbockers / socks (Base Game) / shoes (Get Together)
Hot Weather No. 1: hat / hair / outfit
Hot Weather No. 2: top / skirt
Cold Weather No. 1: hat (Cottage Living) / hair / scarf / skirt / gloves
Cold Weather No. 2: hat (Cottage Living) / scarf / top / skirt
A huge thank you to all the CC creators! @serenity-cc @joliebean @birksche @jewishsimming @simstomaggie @atashi77 @ms-marysims @satterlly @simandy @trillyke @zurkdesign @gilded-ghosts @anessasims @nolan-sims @dcwnandout @waxesnostalgic @mosneakers @clumsyalienn @saurusness @dzifasims @linzlu @magnolianfarewell @standardheld @dancemachinetrait @vintagesimstress @twentiethcenturysims

How often do you apologize to/talk to inanimate objects, and are you autistic?
Examples of this phenomenon*:
accidentally kicking a table leg and saying "sorry" to the table leg,
seeing a box fall off a shelf and saying "oh no! are you ok?"
squeezing a water bottle tighter than you meant to and going "oh sorry water bottle I didn't mean to do that"
apologizing to a broken mug for throwing it away
putting a stuffed animal in your backpack and apologizing for the tight quarters/uncomfortable position/claustrophobia
seeing a lone onion at the grocery store and putting it with its brethren so it's less lonely and saying "there you go buddy" or "let's get you back to your friends"
feeling bad for clothes you don't wear anymore and apologizing to them for donating them/repurposing the fabric
apologizing to a plant for not watering it enough
apologizing to a sculpture/art piece for letting it get dusty
apologizing to an easily fixable thing for not fixing it for a while because you keep forgetting
clarifications:
non-professional/non-official autism diagnoses are valid. a lot of professionals out there suck.
"I apologize to inanimate objects but only if I mistake them for people/animals" - this doesn't count, bc from your POV you're apologizing to a person/animal, not an inanimate object.
e.g. if you kick a table leg, think it's a dog, apologize to the dog, then realize it's a table leg, that's different from kicking a table leg and apologizing to the table leg.
I wanted to make "sometimes" and "only for certain things" separate options bc if you only do this with certain things but have a lot of that thing you probably do it all the time but then i'd have to either get rid of the "other"/"see results" options or get rid of the "neurodivergent, but not autistic" options and I didn't want to do either of those things.
i'm not really talking about like. rubber duck coding style talking to an object like it's a person for a specific reason or with a specific purpose. im mostly talking about random little sayings. but also if you feel like that applies go for it. maybe you apologize to your rubber duck for talking its ear [do ducks have ears?] off.
*[all of these are things either me or my mom have done, there is no shame in feeling strong emotions about inanimate objects. there is a disposable plastic coffee cup i've kept for 4 years bc the barista drew mothman smoking a joint on it and i'd feel extremely guilty throwing it out.]

hey! this is chance & here’s the prompt for week 6. what are your oc's bedrooms like? messy? neat? carefully designed? or a collection of their favorite things? you can verbally describe or use photos, whatever you think is best.
Time to answer this one finally! I think I'll talk about Nicea, where the entire crew has 2+ bedrooms.
Declan: he has the largest private room on the Nicea, but that's not saying much. It stays pretty neat because there's just not a lot of stuff in there, but he has a collection of ship pens, stationery, and books. His bedroom at the office is less neat and holds most of his clothes, but because he literally just repurposed an office room it's pretty spartan. His bedroom in his suite at his mother-in-law's, which is a remodeled shed, is not that big but it's very cozy and messy because A) he actually uses it when he's there, and B) it holds all of his art supplies that aren't in his small traveling collection, like all of his paints and canvases, and a bunch of random detritus, mostly in his desk drawers. The one thing you will not find in any of his rooms is a photo of Cady, because he can't stomach the thought of just seeing that. He gave his one photo album to Tristan for safekeeping.
Tristan: her room on the Nicea is the standard not-that-big size, and she keeps not very much in there. What is there is usually in stacks, except for the mini calendar and picture of her and Gil tacked to the wall over the desk. Her room at home, though, is set up to be as cozy as possible, with walls that are a soft dark blue, dark floral curtains, padded rugs, and ample dresser space so the drawers actually close when everything gets left in a wad in there. There's not much else in the way of decoration, though, because this is a room for sleeping.
Rodney: he keeps the most things in his room on the Nicea, because he has more than a couple clothing items there (he never wears the flight suit), and three books that he's reading, and his tablet, and four chargers, and seven data cables, and his laptop, and his fuzzy blanket, and his ship slippers, and some space M&Ms, and thirteen colors of nail polish and an entire nail kit, and previous issues of the Svando's magazine that he's forgotten about. He has a full-size calendar on the wall and also is slowly accumulating pictures there, mostly of him, Isabel, and Spinder, and places he's been. He keeps everything pretty neat on the whole, but he's always in the middle of something. By contrast he has almost nothing in his hotel rooms, but they kind of come already prepared. His room at his mom's house looks pretty empty and tidy because it's infrequently used, but it has various old trophies and rocks and drawings and stuffed animals filling it out.
Isabel: her room on the Nicea is always kind of a mess, because she also keeps a small but complete wardrobe there, and she's constantly bringing bags of snacks in and finishing them. She tries to keep her hotel rooms neat for housekeeping, but at her mom's house she will not hear any complaints about her throwing her shit everywhere in her own room, Fay. Unlike Rodney she has updated the decor in her room multiple times, mostly by stripping out the old curtains and putting new posters on the walls. No matter what she does, though, one of the posters is always of a hot guy and one of them is always of a vintage actress.
Spinder: like Tristan, he wears a flight suit on the Nicea, so like Tristan, he mainly has undershirts and underwear as his wardrobe there. Aside from that he keeps very little in his room and most of it in the closet, but he's been considering putting up some pictures or something, which maybe he does prior to leaving on their big trip. He's fastidious about his hotel rooms, partly for housekeeping and partly to avoid wrinkles in his clothes, but he inevitably ends up spreading his shaving kit all across the bathroom counter. At Nieram's house, he also sleeps in a room with built-in shelves full of childhood stuff, half of it his (romance novels, handheld puzzle toys, school art projects) and half of it his older brother Pat's (vintage music paraphernalia, minifigures for games he no longer plays, school art projects), because they shared a room after it became clear Spinder and Michael were not capable of doing so. He doesn't try so hard to keep this room clean while he's there, but he still always hangs up his clothes.
And a bonus, because I haven't talked enough lol:
Tatya: her room on her as-yet-unnamed ship is her main space there, and hers is by far the most decorated ship bedroom. She has a ton of woodburning projects hung up on the walls, with a shelf for her various reading materials and a shelf for knickknacks (they both have plexiglas covers to prevent stuff falling out everywhere), and a little tapestry over her minifridge. She even replaced the lamp covers with something more homey. Her bedroom on Basenaum is similar, except the architecture actually goes with her "rustic" sense of decor. She's somewhere in the middle of the neat-messy spectrum, where she tries to keep things clean but her spaces always look very lived-in.

As funny as the concept of Cal “living in the vents” might be (shout-out to
@paxcallow)*, part of me was like, “No, this will not stand at all, he deserves a PROPER place to live,” So here’s an idea that I came up with. Picture this:
-Otto just so happens to have several storage warehouses located in the quarry near his lab. One of them isn’t being used for anything, so they decide to turn it into a house; everyone pitches in to help, with Cal staying at the dorms while the project is being completed.
-Since the PN are still kind of on a budget, a lot of the furniture is either
1) thrifted/refurbished
2) handmade using wood from the forest, repurposed scrap metal, and even salvaged materials from the remains of the old asylum.
-When it comes to the interior design, Cal refuses to let Sasha have any say in the matter. (He’s still kind of upset about the whole construct thing.) Milla is instead put in charge, and you better believe they go for the brightest, most garish colours they can find. Meanwhile, Sasha is stuck buying all the boring stuff (kitchenware, electronics, small appliances, etc.) He does, however, manage to win Cal over with the stained glass lamp he (reluctantly) buys for him.
-Several other characters bring things to help decorate his new place. (Nona Lucy sews him a quilt, Edgar does a black-velvet painting of a Spanish galleon, Morry gives him a framed All Paul poster, someone buys a bunch of cheap stuffed animals including a giant teddy bear, etc.)
-Some sea-themed stuff is also incorporated (nautical flags, large seashells, mounted steering wheel, ship in a bottle).
-After the house is completed, Morry, having been made Cal’s official P.O., offers to stay at the house in order to keep an eye on him, essentially becoming his roommate. (Big rainbow-coloured quotation marks around the word “roommate.”)
*This was before I found out it was supposed to be a “Community” reference. Oh well.
-Nat
This is a really cute headcanon and I want to add that I think after Cal has settled into his home for long enough and things are stable for him he should get a fish tank bc he longs for fish. He wanders over to the aquarium in the motherlobe near morry’s “office” and sighs loudly until someone gets the hint. He would have a nice big tank with multiple species that are safe for getting along. It’s partially to show how much he’s improved and will not do Any experiments on them, but also bc it’s just fun. Fish are FUN. Fishie fishies

Wildlife & Reptile Plushies
I've been thinking and posting about wildlife plushies and toys recently and I've been thinking about the role they play in educating people. I haven't really looked into any studies on this, but now I kind of want to.
I just think about when I was babysitting my cousin and I called his Giganotosaurus a T rex and he corrected me. Dinosaurs are so in the cultural conciousness that kids learn their names and what the look like. He's not even /particularly/ into dinosaurs, there are some kids that are entirely obsessed.
It feels like there's just a dearth of accurate reptile plushies for anything thats not a dinosaur. Kids know allosaurus, spinosaurus, tyrannosaurus, but not animals that live in their region.
so far the only blanding's turtle I've been able to find is from Ontario Parks.
Tumblr media
"Black the Blanding's Turtle" is from Ontario parks. It IS a very cute turtle plush and it does show off the iconic turtle neck, my main complaint would be it's a little light for a Blanding's, which tend to be quite dark brown, plus it doesn't have spots on its arms or legs.
I did also find this Wild Republic Spotted Turtle (a different species, but their ranges overlap somewhat). I think that this one has a shell closer to a blandings, it just needs the yellow throat.
Tumblr media
Ontario Parks doesn't list the manufacturer of the Blanding's Turtle plushie that I could find, but I wouldn't be surprised if they commissioned Wild Republic to make it; a lot of the location-specific plushies seem to be repurposes of existing stuffed animals. I guess I don't know much about plushie production to know how that all works.

Alright, I've gone through with the OC repurposing thing. Meet Merry!
Tumblr media
She's a plushie who's possessed by the ghost of a witch. She'd come from a floor where a dragon is guarding its stuffed animal hoard, and you'd have to sneak behind it in order to let Merry free so she can skedaddle and enter the elevator. But occasionally the dragon would look in your direction, and you'd be forced to hide behind rocks and stuff. More info under the cut
Personality wise, she's very chaotic. Likes to scare people for fun, but she's not SUPER malicious. Despite that, Merry DOES seem to enjoy the company of some rather morally questionable NPCs, like Gnarpy, Enphoso, Jeremy, etc. She's fascinated by people like that, and seems to use it as inspiration for her evil ghostly shtick.
If you throw enough tomatoes or snowballs at her, she'd resort to catching them in her mouth and eating them whole. However, if you spray her a bunch, she will instead shake up a potion bottle and open it up in your face, causing your vision to get obscured for a while.
Have a final silly doodle of her as a reward for checking this out, I really appreciate it. :]

FOR THE ASK THING: 14, 22, 29
PLEASE AND THANK YOU (*・∀・*)ノ
OIII MOON!!! thanks for stopping by!!! I miss your typos and yelling 🌻🌻🌻
14. Talk about one of your most cherished childhood memories.
I have lots of great childhood memories, but the one that randomly came to mind was when I was around 9 or 10 years old.
I was close to this one family growing up, and they had been fostering three children they were looking to adopt. The family had 4 biological children, and they were fostering 3 more. They invited my mom and I to come with them to go to the courthouse with them to have them officially adopted! They had this large bus and all 11 of us rode together (2 parents, 7 children, my mom, and me), and we were laughing and talking the whole way there, excited that the kids were going to be an official part of the family. The judge was very kind, and all 7 kids and me received stuffed animals afterwards. We went back to hang out at their house. One of the kids even changed her name to include my sister's name as her middle name, (my sister was unable to attend because she had school).
Some of my golden memories from when I was a kid 💛💛💛
22. What do you like most about nature?
There are scary parts of nature, but also very beautiful things. The thing I value most about nature is how undemanding it is. Life is so busy and stressful; but, when you go out into a forest, or out in a field or meadow, or beach or mountain, you can stand in the midst of it all and not remember a thing. Taking a long, deep breath of fresh air is so unexplainably calming, and feeling grass or moss beneath your feet makes you want to roll around and never let that feeling escape. It can be as thrilling and interesting, or as tranquil and peaceful as you want it to be. You can down a trail, chasing birds and squirrels, or you can simply sit on the ground, close your eyes, and exist.
In much of the life we live, we miss the opportunity to simply exist.
29. Do you collect anything? And what are some hobbies you have?
I don't do this so much anymore, but I used to collect rocks and things from outside. I'd have sticks, and shells, and interesting leaves and flowers. Unfortunately, this isn't really viewed as "normal" so I had to "repurpose" much of the material I collected over the years, but I still have a rock collection hanging around with some small bits of amethyst, quartz, emeralds, sapphire, and other little things.
(Yeah, my mom made me get rid of things when bugs crawled out of my acorns 😬 sorry mama macadamia 😅)
On the hobbies side, you know I like photography and painting, but I also love poetry! Again, I don't have much time anymore these days, but I used to write poetry and read lots of it, including short stories! (Levihan takes up a lot of my reading time now, admittedly LOL)
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR STOPPING BYYYYYY I HAD SUCH A GREAT TIME ANSWERING THESE!!!!!! LOT'S OF LOVE MOTHER MOON 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
