Ryomen Sukuna x Scarlet Witch! Requip Magic User! Reader
Whatever Sukuna was up against was a challenge, as the women in front of him quickly changed her armor and weapons as they attacked him. The way she throw red wisps towards him as he couldn’t keep up with this woman’s attacks on him.
She wouldn’t let him take a break from her attacks, he feared that his would be the end of him since her weapons and magic were too much for him. She was dangerous more so than he was in the heian era and the strongest man in the modern era Gojo Satoru.

I always had this head cannon and please add to it if you come across this.
Erza can never go all out, her magic doesn't allow it my evidence is that almost every other fairy tail fighter clearly has massive spells and exhausting looking moves especially on magic.
But Erza almost always run out of stamina before magic, and almost any time she's forced to fight with little magic she almost always had outside problems or, she used too much on the magic car thing.
I always figured Erza had a high magic reserve like more than anyone in the guild besides an argument for guild arts and the slayers but the slayers cheat most of the time because by eating their element.
But my point is that Erza doesn't have big spells, she is already considered by everyone definitely a master sword woman at Pinnacle of swordsmanship in the fairytale world. She is likely at her physical peak and most of her armors only provide so much protection. My point is no way most of her armors she can just pour all her magic into and it does not break. Nor could her swords besides her new ones if you know which ones I'm talking about.
But still the first time she used them got physically hurt more before she ever ran out of magic. I'm just saying for anyone who also likes this play with it. Erza probably never once in her life besides maybe once was able to truly let loose.
#fairy tail#erza scarlet#requip#i just aways felt like erza could never just go berserk#also im taking about gmg#that armor against Minerva was definitely just shit#but it's probably the only armor that doesn't just break flooding it with magic

Amphibia X Fairy Tail AU? 👀
The calamity stones as the rocks that second/third generation dragon slayer have
And
I had this idea: Anne ends up with Lucy a bit before episode 1, meets Natsu and Happy
Sasha ends up in Phantom Lord
Marcy ends up with Wendy in Cait Shleter (no idea if i spelt it correctly).
ok i didnt think of that first one at all but it solves so many problems omg
as for the rest (admittedly i havent thought about this au in a while) i wasnt really planning on including actual fairy tail characters i was just going to put amphibia characters in that universe but those are some fun ideas for an au that uses both casts!
in mine Anne joins a guild with the other characters from wartwood, Sasha joins a dark guild led by Grime, and marcy works for the magic council~ (which andrias is part of. two guesses as to how that ends up going)
i dont have much i came up with it during a brief period of time where my old fairy tail obsession came back in full force and i didnt really keep working on it once i moved on from that </3
#ask#i had a few things planned out but it was very loose and a lot of it was just vibes. polly has requip magic though so that's really fun

How I theorised ErzaVKaguraVMinerva would go cause I don’t like Second Origin
I was complaining about second origin and thought how would I change certain fights. I think Kagura’s unsheathed sword was such a well developed set piece I was shocked at how it wasn’t used. Erza provoking Minerva into close range and causing a cataclysmic strike with the limited magic she had would have been more satisfying than what we got. I think Kagura’s sword was hyped up more than Erza’s space armour which was more of a left field pull imo.
Due to Erza’s limited movement due to her foot being crushed I also think she could’ve pulled off Minervas switch move with her sword and Kagura’s. It’s in Erza’s wheelhouse because it’s weaponry.
I also think it introduces the idea that Erza can steal an enemies weapon and develop requip magic further.
Also they’re all hot, thank you for listening.

Celestial Magic (my idea of the culture)
So the magic system works overall in fairy tail but I feel like it lacks in story building when it comes to the culture surrounding magic, mostly when it comes to the celesital mages. So, here are some of the ideas that have been springing around my head.
Celestial Magic is a closed magic type. While other mages can dip into other magic, such as requip magic or transformation magic, celestial magic is like dragon slayer magic where it must be passed down from a parent.
There is ancient stardust in the celestial families. The story of how it got there is the celestial spirit king fell in love with a human girl at the dawn of time, and when she died in war, he created human children of theirs which had stardust in their veins. Every celestial mage you see is a distant child of the dozens of children he made.
Celestial Magic is matriarchal. The magic follows the females in the family. While yes male celestial mages can be born, they are weak compared to their female counterparts, and are mainly meant to carry on the stardust that runs in the family. The accepted theory is that women give birth and quite literally bring new souls into the world, which is why they excel at the summoning magic.
Due to celestial magic being matriarchal, the traditions around marriage are different in their culture. The husband usually takes on the females last name, and their children inherit the mothers name.
Every celestial mage can feel the stars, its hard to explain, but they can tell when a zodiac season shifts or when there's a shooting star.
Celestial Mages are not meant to be fighters, they're meant to be way finders, and shine the way towards a better tomorrow. Lucy is the first one in all time to develop the star dresses and evolve. But even though she can fight, she is still a pacifist at heart.
Celestial mages are very social in nature, most of the spells we see used are supposed to be carried out in huge groups, and are mainly used to protect a certain group from a greater evil. Watching the mages in this era use battle spells on their own is an impressive feat on it's own.
Thank you for taking the time to read! Let me know what you think!

I don’t reaaaally like the stardresses
But not for the same reason I’ve seen others dislike them? The biggest argument I see against Lucy’s stardresses is that it’s too much like Erza’s requip. I don’t disagree with that specifically. The thing is, in a roundabout way, I would argue that the issue with Lucy’s dresses is actually more of a reflection of the issue with Erza’s power (which I may or may not make a post about). What I mean is, if Erza’s magic was better developed, Lucy’s magic would seem more original.
Much like almost every other magic in this lazy-ass written universe, I don’t like the ‘rules’ (or lack thereof) for summoning them. The power scaling in FT is infamously terrible, so I’m basically preaching to the choir, but brain rot takes over my typey fingees sometimes.
So I’ve been reading the manga because the anime recently upset me, therefore I’d now rather quickly read through FT: 100YQ than invest a lot of emotional energy in an adaptation that really slows the pacing of its printed counterpart. That being said:
Part 1: Aquarius
First of all, I don’t agree with the fact that Lucy can still use Aquarius’s stardress. I understand that it was gifted to her by the Celestial King during Tartaros, but that only should have lasted as long as that war. I think it undermines Aquarius’s sacrifice and I also believe it would have benefited Lucy and her goals as a character for 100YQ. Giving Lucy Aquarius’s stardress could have represented the end of an era but the start of a new one. And it does, ostensibly. Aquarius is basically Lucy’s first spirit, someone who has both a strong connection with Lucy and with her mother. It’s a difficult bond to break, but a testament to Lucy letting go of a piece of her past to protect her present bonds. As a reward for such a sacrifice, the Celestial King gives her one last chance to fight for her future with an old friend’s power. It’s a beautiful moment that acts as closure for Aquarius’s “loss”, but also a hint at the new possibilities for Lucy’s new abilities. And that’s all it needed to be.
However, despite the fact that her contract with Aquarius is, for that time being, null and void, Lucy now overuses ‘Aqua Metria’ at every turn instead of bothering to actually summon the spirits with whom she currently has contracts (and seriously, is there no reason she can’t use Regulus Impact? I feel like it accomplishes the same… impact). This paragraph is just me venting, I find it quite annoying… Not to mention that not having the dress until she gets the key back could be something else to look forward to! Also Aquarius’s dress is probably my least favourite… so boring and just another excuse for Mashima to draw as little clothes on Lucy as often as possible.
Part 2: Borrowed power
Or at least, I feel that her stardresses should be considered borrowing a part of her spirits’ powers. Celestial magic is unique in that the wizard doesn’t just need to understand the mechanics of it, or how the magic flows within oneself. It also requires an extra level of bond and trust for it to function at its fullest. It’s actually a really beautiful power, one that I really admire. Which is why I’m so sad that it’s so misrepresented by its own creator. This is my opinion, but considering that summoning spirits is the main facet of her magic, I strongly feel that summoning a stardress should cost more power than opening a gate as well as be less powerful than the spirit whose dress it belongs to. That way, it’s still more worth it to summon the spirit, but is also a testament to the wizard’s magic power and their bond with their spirit since they are willing to expend even more power just to be able to fight alongside them. Not only that, but it feels to me like the dresses should be the spirits sharing their power with Lucy. However, it feels more like Lucy is summoning an entirely different entity that scales purely on her own magic power. Doesn’t that make her spirits obsolete? She barely ever summons them anymore because it seems that choosing to summon a stardress and skipping the spirit is not only more cost effective, but also makes her combat more efficient. If she fights better by herself than with her spirits, why even have spirits?
Considering how poorly written the spirits are, I’d almost argue that the stardresses, and only the stardresses, should’ve been Lucy’s power from the start. If you can’t do it right, then don’t do it at all.
On that topic:
Part 3: Is he bored of them?
I’m genuinely wondering if Mashima grew tired of his own concept. And by that I mean, the spirits specifically. Because he clearly loves the moral behind them. You love and respect them even if they’re not human. A moral developed really well, at least as far as I’ve seen in the anime, in Edens Zero. I won’t spoil it because this is a post about Fairy Tail, but I really like how that moral is done in that story. But he made 2 major mistakes in Fairy Tail. 1) Celestial wizards are rare. How can you fight for a cause if there is no cause to fight for? He tries to make up for this by Lucy starting to connect with other characters in the way the other protagonists just can’t, like Eclair from Phoenix Priestess and Athena from 100YQ. Great, point for Lucy’s character, really well done. Why can’t she extend that to her spirits on-screen? 2) he seems to have decided that because the spirits aren’t human, they must be one-note?? And only one spirit can have depth at a time. When he needed Aquarius to matter, Loke devolved into the thats-my-wife-guy. Meanwhile Aquarius evolved from raging PMS b*tch to ‘well maybe I do love Lucy after all -3-’.
He has written so so so many characters into his canon, but the celestial spirits, nooo that’s too much to keep track of. Despite how much he hammers home that they matter as much as everybody else. Worst of all, most of the time that they’re summoned, Lucy just seems annoyed or disturbed. So which is it???
Part 4: Help
I wish I could let go, someone help.
If you got this far, thanks for reading ✌️

I don't think Erza constantly wears her armour because she wants to, but because she feels like she has to.
Let me explain. Our first introduction to Erza is an armour clad warrior that is strong and commanding. This image continues throughout the first few arcs, until we get to the tower of heaven.
We see Erza changing to go down to the casino at the very beginning of the arc and she takes a moment to admire herself in the mirror but then confesses that she feels better while wearing her armour. I think the mental scars from the tower have left her feeling insecure and naked when not wearing any protection or at least not feeling prepared in some way.
One could argue that her requip magic ensures that she's always in a state of readiness for any occasion.
I think Erza much prefers to be a soft individual, we see her love for more traditionally feminine things how she loves dressing in pretty gowns and attending fancy parties. She loves sweets and cooking and baking. I think she likes the idea of being a homebody and dressing nice but it leaves her feeling anxious whenever she does indulge in that feeling.
The tower hardened her to the point that when she does show her softer side, as much as she enjoys it, she becomes uncomfortable because she feels like she can't protect herself or her friends if anything were to happen.

FAIRY TAIL HEADCANONS PT. 2
Lisanna actually confessed to Natsu when they were kids. She got rejected. Eventually, they became friends again but at the cost of Gray and Cana threatening her to not try and abuse that chance.
Makarov forced the Fairy Kid Gang to go to school at one point. It didn't end well (Levy blew up the building. Gray and Natsu walked out looking swag as fuck, and Cana was counting cards on the way out)
Levy has both Requip and Letter Magic
Levy is Freed's apprentice. Happened after the Phantom Lord Arc
Laxus and Freed made out the night Laxus got excommunicated. They're dating but they're just hiding it from the guild. Even Mirajane doesn't know
Weisslogia and Skiadrum actually regret the memory altering they did with Sting and Rogue
Dobengal and Gray are besties. Don't ask why, they just are.
None of the kids with dragon parents know how to confess the right way. All they know how to do it is the dragon way and nobody else understands the dragon way except them.
Dragons actually have their own continent split into different countries.
The Celestial Spirit King actually does have a key, but nobody's allowed to use it because of something that happened in the past.
After Levy recovered from Phantom Lord, the carved mark of the guild is still near the lower right part of her stomach. It's just healed and reduced to little pink lines, but they're still there. Gajeel feels bad about it everyday.
Shadowgear broke up at one point.
Gray smokes weed.
Bickslow also smokes weed.
Fairy Kid Gang has matching piercings.
Every member of Fairy Tail has never passed their psych eval. Do with that what you will.

Fairy tail has its flaws, but it’s also very good.
Lucy’s main strength being how much she cares about her spirits and considers them friends. Erza using her armor to feel safe, and some of her most powerful requips being cloth or not really being protective, because she’s owning up to her own fears. Natsu seeming like he’s impulsive and doesn’t care, but he really does care a whole lot about his guildmates. Grey at first seeming like someone who takes things too far and trying to fight more powerful opponents, but showing that his magic comes from control, precision, and trust.
The fact that some of the most powerful characters don’t have blood ties to anyone important, the positive messages about adoptive families and found families.
The whole idea that self sacrifice does not equal atonement. That truly making up for wrongdoing means living as best you can and supporting the people who rely on you. That anyone can be redeemed if they put in the work for it. But they have to choose it first, they have to choose to live and be better before they can be redeemed.
Also that one random village elder who comes back every once in a while to ask the main party when they’re gonna destroy the moon

Which member of Team Natsu do you think would be the most challenging for a bad guy to hold captive?
The woman who casually rips holes in the fabric of time and space on the daily? The man who can freeze anything he looks at? Or the girl who gets her power by breathing?
(Assuming anti-magic devices aren’t in play)
oooooo Anon you have given me a mental treat with this one XD
Magic suppression is definitely a game changer, though without it (even assuming the mage in question isn't magically drained/exhausted, and possibly kept that way) I think the power of heavy duty materials still go a long way.
That said, my answer would have to be Erza. She's a tank *and* a swiss-army knife. There's no way she can't summon the exact armor or weapon needed for the job... even if the weapon in question is just lock-picks. There's no way to plan for her vulnerabilities without knowing her entire inventory. Now, there might be a way to circumvent this by simply giving her no room to summon anything or available hand to use it, though it's hard to say if Erza would still be able to, say, displace a bunch of chains by summoning armor in-between them and her body. Since she requips directly onto herself anyway, her control is proven to be immaculate. Plus she's just all around scary and badass XD
Next in line of difficulty might actually be Wendy. Her buffs and enchantments can be a game-changer, and as you mentioned, she can pretty much always have access to her element. (Though I do imagine that, say, some dank dungeon wouldn't be that magic-rich sky so I wouldn't really count on that as a big boost.) Although wind itself might not be that effective if any metals are in play. It would mostly be the array of enchantments, whether that means giving herself an inhuman strength boost previously unexpected or enchanting up a debuff on whatever is holding her. (However to this point, baby Wendy as we know her might not be this versatile yet.)
Gray is close in my internal ranking, because he can make anything, but unlike Erza he has to *make* it, and if he doesn't have both hands available, then it might not be as sturdy. Plus there's stuff that won't break from the cold, and would be more durable than ice in a clash. They might have to get a certain type of alloy/material to withstand the flash-freeze, but honestly Gray doesn't have as much raw strength as Erza or Natsu anyway so there's still the breaking issue.
Natsu is definitely a beast of a guy but if he's up against fireproof and highly durable materials then he would be out of luck. (And they might have to be magicked to be fireproof, but I think that's fairly doable.) Once the brute-forcing option fails he's a bit cooked.
Then poor Lucy is really easy if you get her away from her keys. The trick might be if somebody like Virgo or Loke summons themselves to mount a rescue, but that also falls into any Fairy Tail rescue which could apply to all of them. (And I'm assuming that if she's separated from her keys then locating her would be tricky.)
Oh and Happy and Charle would also be really easy to hold captive. Poor little guys.
#fairy tail#ask#anon#admittedly I have thought about these things before#i love this trope lol#I was *this close* to doing a mass team natsu capture for whumptober but then went for a simpler idea#but its on that back burner....#now magic suppressants of some sort does make this a lot easier lol#or getting them while they're down and making them stay down :)))#but I'm assuming the spirit of this is who can get out if they are able to manage as they normally do so#also disregarding mental blocks#wendy might be capable of it but liable to panic a bit more easily#and then there's whatever circumstance adding fuel to that fire#ANYWAY#swiss army knife erza is just so cracked#if I wanted to think TOO hard about it then the fact that she de-summons her clothes#might imply she can catalogue anything she's touching and then magic them *away*#which would be totally cracked#not sure I wanna think about that one too hard XD

Some more notes and world building for my Lucy redesign:
Celestial spirit mages have a really hard time learning different kinds of magic if it's what they first start out with, since they naturally flow towards opening interdimentional doors. They'll usually find themselves accidentally opening different keys instead - if they have more than one, then it's usually whichever spirit is most comparable with the type of magic they're trying to learn, and if that doesn’t apply, then it’s just the easiest spirit to summon. Path of least resistance and all that.
This is doubly so if the celestial mage in question is naturally born with great aptitude for celestial spirit magic
Lucy herself was born to a long line of celestial spirit mages, as well as has an extreme aptitude towards summoning them. Her magic almost exclusively works with spirit keys because of this. If she works at it, she might be able to learn some basic requip, but she's pretty much completely locked into spirit keys or weapons specifically made to channel her type of magic (think Fleuve d'étoiles)
Celestial mages also have to be careful when making promises. It's all too easy for their magic to flow into one and make it a Contract, which has major consequences when broken - especially towards a spirit or concerning something an involved party feels strongly about. Even disregarding that, most will always keep their promises since once word spreads through the spirit world that you don't, not a single spirit will want to contract with you. In some cases, depending on your existing contracts, it may be grounds for them to be broken.
It also works somewhat the other way around. Breaking a promise to a spirit mage is a Big Deal, and can have detrimental affects to the people involved. The spirit mage can take the backlash themselves though, in the even someone breaks a promise to them. Usually it's not a big deal because it's not super important, but the ones that really mean something to one or both has a much heavier backlash
Lucy works hard to foster close bonds with her spirits, and on every anniversary of her gaining their Key, she lets them ask anything of her (within reason) and she'll do it. In all honesty, they could ask her to do something at anytime, and she'd totally do it, but enough spirits protested her doing that all the time, so they compromised to once a year
The protests may have mostly come from Aquarius and Cancer, who didn’t want other spirits to take advantage of the fact that Lucy will do basically anything for them. Loke was extremely relieved when he heard about this.
Aquarius helped raise Lucy, and she's basically Lucy's second mom - or at least overprotective guardian figure.
Cancer, who has been with her the second longest, has similar feelings. He tends to act more as the cool uncle tho.
Later on when Loke joins the roster, he becomes her BFF/Best Bro. He's very protective, and has basically formed the Lucy Heartfilia Protection club aka her celestial spirit fanclub. He is low key actively recruiting members.
He likes to tease her with his flirty drama, but also won't hesitate to punch someone eyeing her the wrong way. She knows he's not serious with the flirts towards her, and he knows she knows. He is very serious about singing her praise tho. He lets loose his cat behaviors when they're together because he trusts her and also because it's funny
But in all seriousness, Loke is solid and dependable for Lucy, and a great source of comfort. He knows when to be serious and how to make her smile when she’s upset, or when she just needs someone to be there for a while to let her know she’s not alone.
Virgo is also part of the bff/sibling club
Celestial Spirit Magic is rare, and not a whole lot of people know anything about it. In fact, the keys sell for a lot in the black market, and doubly so if included with the mages themselves. Lucy, having grown up in a rich mansion with basically only her spirits as her friends, is surprised at how little everyone seems to know about them and how dangerous it actually is to openly be a spirit mage. Suddenly her spirits’ overprotectiveness and nagging about never leaving her keys anywhere and keeping them out of sight makes a lot more sense.
The spirits’ overprotectiveness is admittedly justified, since Lucy is very trusting and is always trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. She's actually not bad at picking out suspicious people, but she doesn't really trust her own instincts.
It’s a relief for everyone involved once she joins Fairy Tail, because now that she’s part of an official guild, especially as well known and powerful as they are, it is way harder for anyone to try and capture her and her keys.
Makarov is aware of this, and takes measures to make sure people (especially the more powerful people) know that anyone who lays a hand on Lucy will regret it very, very quickly. He also makes sure Mira knows since Lucy tends to hang out at the bar a lot, and Mira quietly spreads it to the rest of the guild.
Loke, before he joins Lucy, quietly makes sure to tell Natsu (and Erza and Gray later) more specifically about being careful and why they really, really need to watch out for and be careful with Lucy. For all that he’s trying to avoid spirit mages, he definitely doesn’t want to see another one dead, or worse. Sadly, he’s seen it all - and since they’re always with her, they’re probably going to be the ones who run into the most situations.

Hello! Can you do a dmc boys + v with a erza scarlet (from fairy tail) reader like s/o? She is a great magic swordswoman and weapons master, she is often strict and serous when it comes to serious situations but deep down inside she is very caring and warm towards the people she loves and loves sweets and cute girly things.
OH MY GOD YESSSS! I LOVE FAIRY TAIL! THAT'S SO COOL YOU WATCH IT TOO! YEEEEEEEEE! DMC X FAIRY TAIL, SOME OF MY FAVORITE THINGS ALL IN ONE!👆👆👆👆👆👆👆👆
Sparda boys + V x Erza-like!Reader headcannons
¤ Dante ¤
-Oh, Dante loves a girl who can both kick his ass and be willing to give him forehead kisses and cuddles whenever he wants them.
-Will definitely want to spar with you, not only to test your skills and hone his, but to help you improve.
-Loves to watch your magic at work; the fact that you can Requip into different outfits not limited to armor alone is incredible and makes him wish he had that power. He'd never have to physically change clothes again!
-Always lets you take charge during missions. You keep a cool head under pressure, always know what to do, and can easily come up with a plan, or part of one, at least.
-Dante knows that deep down inside you're still a girly girl, and of course, will treat you like the princess you know you are, from taking you places to just covering you in kisses and giving you a relaxing massage.
-Will buy you strawberry cake whenever you want it, usually including a few scoops of strawberry ice cream to go with it.
■ Vergil ■
-As a powerful and MOTIVATED swordswoman, you have gained Vergil's respect.
-He sees your commanding nature and level-headedness as a great asset, as well as something he can relate to.
-He appreciates your ability to think on your feet and analyze the enemy. In battle, you're basically a female version of him with magic.
-Vergil appreciates your sweet, feminine side too. Sometimes there are dark days where he feels less motivated than usual, which is when he could use a reassuring pep talk or maybe just a lap to lie in.
-Shares your (and Dante's) passion for strawberry themed desserts.
-Is also very curious about your magic and likes to watch you Requip into different clothes, wondering how many outfits you have at your disposal.
□ Nero □
-Thinks it's really cool that you can change your clothes magically, always surprised with your arsenal of armor.
-Wants to train with you all the time because you two make a badass team.
-Your seriousness is a welcome counteraction to his rash decision making, as you can stop him (forcibly so, if necessary) from doing something stupid.
-Nero likes that under all that toughness, you have a delicate heart, and does his best to take care of you in that regard.
-Will 100% buy you dresses, skirts, cute tops, and whatever else you might want.
-Also buys you any desserts you might crave--including strawberry cake.
● V ●
-V was afraid of you at first. Your headstrong, strict, and serious nature made him think you would hurt him, which wouldn't be hard thanks to his poor health.
-Thinks you're amazing when you fight. He could write epics and poetic songs detailing your feats.
-Once he got to see your magic, he was so inspired, he wrote poems for 8 hours straight and wore out his wrist.
-He never expected you to have a caring, girly side, but after seeing just how sweet you really are, realized that this was your true personality.
-This is great, because sometimes he gets violent nightmares and needs comfort.
-Wants to learn how to make strawberry cake for you.

Just My Thoughts Pt. 17
Fairy Tail Manga Reread Version

Weak and unable to fight.
That how Lucy used to see herself at the start of the series. I don’t blame her. When she first joined Fairy Tail, she immediately got grouped in with some of the most powerful members. Erza, who is known as Titania, a powerful requip mage that is also a S-class and one of the top overall strongest members of the guild. She is respected and feared by many. Gray, who has been training as an ice maker mage since he was young. He had a teacher, Ur, who was known to be one of the best ice mages in the wizard world. And lastly Natsu, who Lucy is first introduced to and forms a team with. Natsu, famously known as Salamander, has powerful fire dragon slaying magic. He was taught and trained by Igneel, a dragon. Natsu is known to be strong willed and destructive.
Lucy is even impressed by the three of these members as she’s progressing her journey as a new member of Fairy Tail. The three of them are labeled as the most powerful team in the guild. No wonder Lucy doubts herself as a wizard. She witnessed their magic and compared herself with them. And in that comparison, she’s lacking since she’s not very powerful yet. Lucy, who unlike the other members, lacks any kind of training as mage. Her mother Layla, a celestial mage, would’ve been the one to train her but she died when Lucy was young.
Additionally, Lucy didn’t have any reason to train for battle. She was confined in her mansion by her father Jude who prevented her from having a life outside what he desires. Lucy didn’t get the freedom to learn and strengthen her powers but she had enough will to leave her wealthy life behind to achieve true freedom. She chose to work for her earnings rather than be given everything on a silver platter. To me, that is her true strength and power. She has the mindset of someone who knows what she wants and does her best to achieve it. She wanted more from life and I’m glad she escaped from her father.
Lucy is strong in ways that training with magic from a young age can’t comprehend. Just to be clear, I’m not saying Lucy had it the hardest when she was younger, every member of Fairy Tail and other guilds have their own story but I’m saying that Lucy didn’t get the chance to properly portray her magic.
