Bang Chan

° Is the type to reschedule his own birthday so it could just be your day, but you will refuse his kind suggestions because you'd feel awful if you made it look like his birthday was just brushed aside like it's nothing.

° Let's you blow out the candles on the cake, smiling at you like a lovesick puppy which always makes Minho do obnoxious gagging noises as the other members join him and laugh. But Chan gets revenge on them, with frosting attacks.

° Gives the price with the candle in it, and will scoop up dollops of icing onto your piece of cake if you like frosting. And if you aren't a fan of frosting then he will steal the large amounts on your piece and put on his own piece.

° Always.. And I mean ALWAYS. Writes you birthday cards that make you cry, because he uses such kind words and makes you feel very special. Hyunjin will awkwardly pat your head as Felix clings to you like a koala.

"What words do you out in the letters to make her/him cry?" Hyunjin asked.

"Just the truth from my heart."

"Hyung she's/he's crying even harder now." Felix whispered, grabbing napkins.

Lee Know

° It always ends up going the complete opposite way you guys planned on spending your shared birthday. You both planned on going to a hotel to spend a few days away from everyone and everything, and now you were Camping with skz.

° Let's you open your presents first, secretly eager for you to open the one he bought you. And will laugh in the member's faces, bragging about how he always buys the best gifts for you. He says it's because you share one brain.

° Tries to play the birthday boy card with you, saying 'baby since it's my birthday can you get a drink?' and you always remind him that it's your birthday too so you shouldn't have to do favors on your birthday unless you want to.

° Will poke frosting onto your lips before kissing it away, making all of the members react in disgust and cringe. Even though you both know they are happy you two are together, but they are still like family and will tease both of you.

"Get a room." Seungmin whined.

"It's our birthday, every room is our room."

"Felix get the water guns." Changbin ordered, preparing for battle.

Changbin (our birthday boi! ❤️🎂)

° Very clingy, even though it's your birthday as well he will want to be babied as much as he can get. He'll baby you to return the favor, but please just cuddle him all day to make his birthday wishes come to life.

° Takes you out to a restaurant with no members, just the two of you dining together. He will insist on wearing party hats to the very fancy restaurant, getting weird looks from the posh and frugal diners that surround you.

° Even though he is sited earlier on being babied, whenever you suggest that you can help pay for the meal he always denies it and pays fully. And when whine asking why he's spoiling you, he explains that it's your birthday, you deserve it.

° Will rent out a hotel room on the top floor, taking a few selfies with you to post on instagram, captioning a long rant about how he feels so special to have met such a wonderful person who shares his birthday.

"You don't have to pay Binnie, we can go half-"

"I insist, it's your birthday you deserve it."

"But it's your birthday too."

Hyunjin

° He shows you off 10× harder than he usually does, you simply did his hair in the morning cause you wanted to. And she showed it off to all of the members, staff, and fans who were watching the stray kids daily vlogs.

° The members will purposely celebrate you more for the first half of the day, just to annoy Hyunjin. But they always soften up and congratulate him too, making him go back to his usual confident prince aura.

° Wants kisses 24/7, and will become pouty if you deny any of them. Always whining, saying that it's his birthday wish to kiss you. That sentence alone always makes you cave in and kiss his adorable pout away.

° Will read your letters for you while you open the gifts, when it comes time to open his gifts you will return the favor and read the letters. Once he reaches your gift, without even opening it he will say it's his favorite gift out of them all.

"Now for the best gift of the night."

"But you haven't even opened it yet."

"I just know it is the best."

Han

° Wakes you up with a birthday song, forcing his members to sing it with him and dance to it. The only ones who truly get into the song are Chanbin and Felix. You were a bit surprised to see all eight guys surrounding your bed.

° Will set a cute date in the JYP café, sharing your favorite pastry and his favorite pastry with each other. You two hoped to be left alone, but some fans decided to visit the café and give Han this huge cake while ignoring you.

° After Jisung began to notice more fans surrounding the building, he decided to take you back to the dorms where you could finish your pastries and drinks there. Even though it wasn't as 'romantic' it was still nice and calming.

° You both just have a relaxing time together alone, watching you favorite movies and ordering your favorite foods and drinks. Only going to socialize with everyone else when Chan calls for both of you to open the gifts.

"Happy birthday Han oppa, we love you more than anyone else in the world."

"Oh, thank you so much. Umm we actually should get going."

"OMG IS THAT HAN JISUNG OVER THERE?!"

Felix

° You tell Felix every year to not just focus on you, but he truly just can't help himself. Which is why you woke up to a loud clang in the kitchen, to find your boyfriend baking you a birthday cake at 4 in the morning.

° You were about to scold him for trying to spoil you, but he just passes you a spoon with some of the icing and batter on it. You can't stay annoyed with you angel of a boyfriend, especially when you remind yourself that it's his birthday too.

° The reason you tell him to not focus on you, is because if you don't tell him that. He will go overboard, and spoil you more than a Kardashian. Which sometimes makes you feel bad for not spoiling him just as much.

° You both facetime your families together, opening up your presents in front of them and the members. Your mom is crying the whole time because she can't get over how happy you look and how you got with such a nice guy.

"I've never seen my baby look so happy."

"Aww, you are extra smiley around me."

"Can you please just open the gift." Changbin sighs playfully, waiting ten minutes over you two gushing over each other.

Seungmin

° You struggle whenever it comes to buying gifts for Seungmin, just because he is so calm around you and always tells you that he doesn't care what you buy him as long as it's from you. He'll even say he doesn't need gifts.

° He's such a sweet boyfriend so you always want to spoil him, but he always manages to get a more heart wrenching gift than you do. Which is now why you are hunting down different stores with Hyunjin, who hasn't bought him a gift yet.

° You both rush towards the music store, when you bump into Seungmin. He is holding a couple bags full of stuff, and he can't help but smile brightly when he runs into you. Knowing exactly why you two are shopping.

° Hyunjin tries to take a peak at the bags to see if he could get any ideas from them, but Seungmin moves them away as he places a small peck to your nose before leaving the store. Making you lost with questions as to what he got you.

"Seungmin! Hi... W-what are you doing here?"

"Getting your presents ready."

"He's always ahead of the game y/n, I swear."

Jeongin

° You both have a whole birthday week, giving each other small little gifts like candy and chocolates before the big day finally arrives. And that's when the members create this huge party for you two, going all out because they are whipped.

° You and Jeongin will steal some of the balloons and keep them in your room to play around with, playing balloon volleyball with each other when neither of you can get to sleep. He always wins because he slaps the balloon so harshly.

° Will have one last dance alone with you after the party. Both of you in your pajamas in his room as you sway back and forth to a soft slow song. You can hear him humming to song against your shoulder.

° During the party, he made the mistake of pulling you in for feverish kiss. Making Itzy, Twice, Day6, Ateez, TxT, Btob, and Ofcourse Stray Kids all start Hollering. You've never witnessed Jeongin blush so harshly before.

"Get it Jeongin!" Han yelled, making Chan slap his arm.

"They're all staring at us."

"That's because you attempted to French kiss me in the middle of the dance floor."

PWYL’s Year In Review 2021

2021 hasn’t been the most amazing year for this blog overall, but I’ve had some pockets of really wonderful moments that I want to delve into in this review.

Highlights of 2021

Exploring my style of writing and producing more stories that I’m really proud of

Turning Challenging Words prompts into 3 different series that I enjoyed writing a great deal

Overall, a lot of my series this year really fulfilled me actually, and I can see my writing improving through them

Writing longer pieces and testing my limits with word counts

Trying genres that I’m not very good at and being pleased with the results 

Things I wish had gone differently / things I wasn’t happy about

The lack of writing 2021 has brought to this blog through frequent bouts of inactivity. Whilst I know some of those times were out of my control / were needed for my wellbeing, it was disappointing to look at the 2020 masterlist and this year’s and find a glaring difference

Soulmate September not being completed, and the yearly themes idea crashing and burning

Mayday6 not being attempted. KOD still being left where I was with the ideas this time last year basically. Some other worlds are ones I really wanted to get to also and I just didn’t find myself visiting them which is a bit of a shame

Expectations for some pieces of work - I’m learning to trust the process and not the numbers more but I am human and sometimes it does suck to spend a long time writing on something and it not be well received

I didn’t focus on the writing community and collabs like I wanted to

To enjoy the process and not feel the need to produce quick pieces

To give A Year in Themes another go!

Monthly prompts to keep me accountable and excited for writing projects

BTS and Big Hit Entertainment Donate $1 Million to Black Lives Matter (EXCLUSIVE)

After K-pop titans BTS stated their solidarity with #BlackLivesMatter this week, declaring “we stand together” against racial discrimination, the group and its Korean record label are making a further commitment: BTS and Big Hit Entertainment have donated $1 million to Black Lives Matter, a rep for Big Hit confirms to Variety.

The donation was transferred earlier this week, with Black Lives Matter confirming receipt to Big Hit early on Saturday, June 6. BTS and Big Hit are not expected to comment on the donation; a rep for Black Lives Matter did not immediately respond to Variety’s request for comment.

The pledge comes at the end of a week that has seen many musicians and others call upon the music industry demonstrate support for the black community, which it has made moves to do with “Blackout Tuesday” — June 2, a day in which many companies paused the workday to discuss and strategize —  and donations. Warner Music and its primary owner Len Blavatnik, as well as Sony Music, have pledged $100 million each to social justice causes.

On Monday, June 1, The Weeknd asked others to step up after detailing his donation of $500,000 towards racial-justice initiatives. “Urging everyone with big pockets to give and give big,” he shared on Instagram. He followed up with a specific request to the industry in a post that featured the logos of Universal Music Group, Sony Music, Warner Music, Spotify and Apple Music. “To my fellow respected industry partners and execs—no one profits off of black music more than the labels and streaming services,” he wrote. “I urge you to go big and public with yours this week. It would mean the world to me and the community if you can join us.”

In the K-pop scene, several artists have supported the movement both as individuals and groups. Some stars have shared their personal donations as well like Los Angeles native Mark Tuan of boy band GOT7 pledging $7,000 to the George Floyd Memorial fund, Korean-American rapper pH-1 donating $3,000 to Black Lives Matter, and a $1,000 donation to the Minnesota Freedom Fund from Jae of K-pop/rock outfit DAY6. BTS and Big Hit mark the first in the Korean-pop industry to make a public group and label donation after the May 25 death of George Floyd sparked protests against police violence across the country.

Elsewhere, Jay Park and his Seoul-based hip-hop label H1GHR Music shared that their artists have collectively donated $21,000 to Black Lives Matter. Park, who is signed with Roc Nation, donated $10,000 three days after George Floyd’s death commenting that “countless innocent unarmed people losing their lives and nobody taking responsibility or being held accountable.”

On Sunday, BTS will appear as part of YouTube’s “Dear Class of 2020” commencement event alongside Beyoncé, President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama. The event was rescheduled in observance of the memorial service celebrating the life of George Floyd being held in Raeford, N.C. on June 6.

Day6 reaction to s/o getting jealous when a idol flirts with them

Sungjin

You had been waiting for Sungjin to come back from getting his guitar case from where he had left in another room in the JYP building. You guys were going to go on a cute little café date that you surprisingly didn't have to beg for. You had thought he would suggest somewhere else since Wonpil had wanted to go to the same place with him, but he had shut him down saying Cafes weren't really his scene. 

You decided to get all his stuff so you could leave quickly, putting it carefully in your bag and placing his beanie on your head with a soft laugh. You were going to open the door of the practice room when you heard two voices conversing just outside the room. You tilted your head when you recognized Sungjin’s voice putting your ear against the wood of the door. You felt your chest tighten when you heard a soft female voice loudly laughing.

You heard the girl giggle and compliment his singing. With shaking hands you tiptoed to look through the little window the door had silently gasping when you saw her hand drift down his arm. You recognized Nayeon from Twice, one of the prettiest girls from one of the most popular girl groups. Her eyes drifted to your eyes peeking from the ledge of the window making direct eye contact when she softly took Sungjin’s hand and asked him if he could give her guitar lessons. 

Her eyes then came back to Sungjin, wide and faux in innocence as she slowly blinked at him. Feeling nauseous you couldn't take anymore of the scene stumbling to the other side of the room. You needed to get away or else you felt like you'd burst through that door and smack her for even having the audacity to touch your boyfriend like that. You didn't get to see Sungjin awkwardly pull his hand away telling her he needed to go. 

He walked into the room meeting your uneasy smile with a bright one, eyes crinkling when he saw his beanie playfully pulling it down so it covered your eyes fondly letting his finger drift to your cheekbone before taking your hand. Even the cute atmosphere of the café didn't manage to cheer you up. Sungjin immediately noticed your mood leaning towards you when he gently asked what was wrong. Not being able to make eye contact you’d ask him if he was going to give Nayeon the guitar lessons she asked for. 

He quickly understood what this was about, almost scoffing at the absurdity of it. He would be silent in the car ride home. Getting to the dorms and he’d pull you to sit down on his bed facing each other and knees touching. He would not allow you to break eye contact when he leaned his forehead against yours nose gently nudging yours as he grasped your hands in his.

“Y/n, love, from now on, I want you to stop tormenting and making yourself unnecessarily suffer like that. What you're feeling and thinking right now is completely wasteful because no matter what, no woman will ever occupy as much space in my heart as you do, no woman can make me feel the way you do. Have trust in me y/n, please.

Sungjin will not hesitate to shut down whatever jealousy you had. He will be blunt and honest with you while still being loving and romantic with you. To be honest, Sungjin thinks it’s stupid you even feel this way, but he wont tell you that.

Jae

Your stomach hurt from having to hold in your laughter curling up in your seat behind the camera, and you had to stifle your laughter with a hand clasped to your mouth. You struggled to catch your breath as a small tear slipped out from the corner of your eye. You had been texting with Jae when he told you he hadn't eaten yet, so you being the kind and supporting girlfriend you were, you had bought food for Jae and everyone in Hwaiting choosing to stay and wait for the recording to finish, so you could go home with Jae. 

You hadn't really watched any of the other episodes, so you weren't prepared for the chaos that ensued when going through the games. You could see Jae’s eyes finding their way to your figure, not being able to stop himself from smiling when he saw you laughing. He smiled brighter when you laughed in response to something he had done. He just loved your laugh too much. It did weird things to his chest, and it made his heart feel light.

 The recording finished and the show was wrapped up. You clapped lightly saying words of encouragement to everyone with Matthew bringing you into a headlock. You presented them with the food you had bought, a smile making its way onto your face when they all cheered. There was a table everyone could sit at, and you were going to sit next to Jae, but Jamie was able to slide in before you could. You shrugged it off knowing they were close friends, simply taking the seat across from him with a confused smile.

 You didn't mind their friendship at all. You had come into Jae’s life after years of them being friends, but as you watched her interact with Jae you couldn't stop the bitter feeling on your tongue. You saw her hitting Jae in the way a child does when they have a crush on someone else, pushing his fork so the food hit his chin and laughing when he complained.

She kept on childishly flirting with him right in front of you. She asked him to go to a new noodle place with her, and told him to reschedule when Jae said he had a date with you on that day which Jae outright refused. You felt like you were about to throw your food at her, so you excused yourself saying you weren't feeling too well. Jae stood up also saying he wanted to leave with you. You were upset, and you let it out on him. When he tried touching you, you pushed him away. 

He started asking you what was wrong poking at you and tugging at your arm to which you eventually snapped telling him to go to that stupid noodle place with his friend that didn't seem to understand what a friend was. Jae would be shocked, staring at you with wide eyes before laughing loudly, bending over and clutching his stomach as if he had just heard the funniest thing. Right there in the hallway of this entertainment company, one of Jae’s hands would rest on your shoulder pulling you so that your body was against his, and the other hand would take your chin making you look at him.

“You really think- I can’t go one hour without thinking of you y/n are you crazy? Like did you eat those weird candies Wonpil likes because how could you ever think I’m not constantly wanting to go home so that I can see you. You! No one else! There is nothing on this stupid planet that could ever make me love you less than I do. Not even when you drool in the morning”

The fact that you were jealous would make Jae laugh because him? Paying any kind of attention to any female? that wasn't you? and didn't have your smile or eyes that he loved so much? hah, what a joke.

Young K

When he had first told you that he would be collaborating with a female idol, you had been perfectly fine with it, excited for him even. Even when he told you it would be Sunmi he would be spending hours with, one of the most beautiful and creative idols in the industry, you shrugged your shoulders wishing him luck and telling him to remember to eat. You trusted Younghyun, and you trusted Sunmi to act respectfully since your relationship had been revealed to the public a long time ago. 

You hadn't had the chance to meet her seeing as you were busy with your own work. One day, Younghyun sent you a text message asking if you could bring his notebook to the studio seeing as he had written down some ideas he had for the song, and you agreed even offering to bring them snacks. He then responded with “You’re the only snack I need ;)” which you ignored going to the convenience store and buying as many snacks as you could. In your giddiness to see your boyfriend, you forgot to knock opening the door right away.

 What you saw made you realize that trust should not be given out freely. You couldn't really hear around the angry haze forming in your mind, but you heard Younghyun talking about the song. You saw her hand placed on his jean clad knee, thumb rubbing the skin exposed by a rip in the cloth, and her hand twirling one of his hoodie strings around her manicured fingers. Younghyun didn't even notice her actions, attention solely placed on the screen in front of him. 

You were just about to go and slap her hands away when he noticed you in the doorway, eyes lighting up as he hurriedly stood up greeting you with a chaste kiss and a hand tenderly running through your hair. You could only manage a weak smile in his direction feeling the other female’ s glare aimed at you. You nervously tugged at your ear asking him to talk outside, chest easing up when he immediately agreed. You quickly shut the door not even bothering to talk to the girl in the chair. 

 You stiffly gave him his notebook and the bag of snacks not being able to look him in the eyes. He was confused at your closed off attitude deciding he would talk about it to you in private where you could tell him in the comfort of your own home. Pressing his lips gently to your forehead, he whispered a “bye” against your skin before turning to go back into the studio. 

He was stopped by a hand tugging at his sleeve, and when he turned back around, you would ask him not to go back into the room because if you saw her make one more move on him you weren't sure you could hold yourself back swinging at her. You really wouldn't be able to finish your sentence before you were pushed back into the wall with his mouth desperately seeking yours. After maybe 5 15 minutes, he would lean back heavily breathing and cradling your face in his hands looking at you with sincere eyes.

“I belong to you and no one else. My heart and soul are all yours babe. You are on my mind every single minute you’re not with me. You think I care about other women? That's cute. There is absolutely no way I could ever think of waking up next to anyone else or falling asleep with anyone else by my side. 

I’m sorry but I believe Younghyun will be one to take your jealousy that route. He’ll think it’s cute . Actually, he'll find your jealousy kind of hot which he wouldn't dare tell you in fear of sleeping on the couch. 

Wonpil

You had actually been away from Korea to go visit your family members. While you felt happy to see your family, you missed Wonpil so much you asked him to send you voicemails talking about random stuff that had happened to him during the day. Even with all the texts and calls, you still depended on those voice mails like they were your lifeline. You just missed his voice...and his laugh...and his touch. You missed him a lot. Your family even teased you about it, noticing your bright smile when you heard from him and calling you “whipped” which you didn't even try denying. 

You had been playing with your younger cousins when you got a call from Jae. As soon as you answered him you had to put the phone away from your ear because he started screeching at you about leaving because ever since you left Wonpil had been all mopey and sulky. He had even tried cuddling Jae which Jae took great offense to. That was all you could catch before his screaming became unintelligible.

You heard a slight scuffling on the other side of the room before you heard Sungjin’s calm voice telling you they would be performing at a music show the day you got back. His voice got slightly nervous when he asked you to surprise Wonpil and if you were up to it because he had been down in the dumps lately. You agreed reassuring him you felt energized just by the chance of being able to see Wonpil earlier.

Getting out of the airport and you stopped quickly at your apartment to drop off all your suitcases and bags, and you slipped on one of his sweatshirts you had stolen from him not being able to stop a feeling of warmth in your chest feeling the soft fabric against your skin. Arriving at the venue and you greeted all the members with a big smile asking them where Wonpil was. They nervously looked at each other before pointing at one of the rooms simply telling you he was practicing. Entering the room would make you freeze in surprise because instead of just Wonpil behind the keyboard, Rose from Black Pink was next to him.

You saw his shoulders hunch up a clear sign he was nervous and feeling shy. She really had no shame. She made sure her shoulders and arms were pressed against his, and she giggled whenever their hands bumped. She had the nerve to rest her head on his shoulder while telling him how cute he was. You decided to intervene softly calling his name. Wonpil gasped at the sound of your voice immediately leaving Rose behind to crush you into a hug hiding his face in your neck. You could only smile meekly, one hand coming to wrap around his shoulders, and the other resting on the back of his head lightly massaging his scalp. With Wonpil not facing her direction, she gave you the dirtiest look she could. 

You asked her if she could give you guys some alone time to which she rolled her eyes huffing as she left the room. When Wonpil leaned back to look at you with a soft laugh and bright eyes, you couldn't meet him with the same enthusiasm. His eyebrows furrowed asking you what was wrong with a hand coming to brush the skin of your cheekbone. When you told him you didn't like the way Rose was acting with him, you could see the clear disappointment in his eyes. His mouth would down turn in a frown, and he looked at you through his eyelashes as his hands dropped from your body.

Wonpil would be sad because Wonpil is someone who needs a stable and trusting relationship. He would be disappointed because he would think you don't trust him. He would be a bit distant from you for a little bit.

Dowoon

The day had been full of laughter. You and Dowoon had gone out to eat for breakfast. It had been a few days since you really had the time to spend and enjoy time with each other. Every time you caught Dowoon staring at you while talking to him, he would giggle eyes crinkling before looking down at his food. You eventually stood up leaning across the table to look him in the eyes, and he covered your eyes with one hand chuckling lowly and telling you to stop being so cute. He let his hand fall from your eyes to cradle your cheek brushing your hair away from your eyes gently. 

You couldn't help but to lean into your touch, your bright eyes meeting his tender ones. You guys decided to go out for a walk around the area where the restaurant was. There was a supermarket with a claw machine where Dowoon wanted to win you a cute plush, but the machine was one of the rigged ones. After the 17th time of Dowoon hitting his head on the glass of the cursed machine, you tugged at his sleeve whining that you wanted to take a walk at the park near the supermarket since the weather was so nice. 

You smiled and laughed as the sun basked you in its warmth. Dowoon had to stop you from going and petting every dog with a hand around your shoulders distracting you by letting a finger slip under the collar of your shirt and rubbing the skin between your neck and shoulder. You saw a little boy walking a large dog almost his size, and the dog was so gentle with the kid walking slowly as to not overwhelm the boy’s shorter clumsy legs. You stopped and put a hand on Dowoon’s shoulder whispering a soft “please” to which he immediately let go of you with a warm smile. 

You excitedly ran ahead gently greeting the boy and asking what his dog’s name was. Dowoon watched you happily bend down to pet the dog when the child gave you permission with a certain kind of breathlessness racking through his body. You didn't notice his ears tint red when you turned around to brightly smile at him. He was so mesmerized by the sight of you he didn't notice his name called until a hand came to rest on his bicep.

He turned around only to stumble back and bow to who he recognized as Chung Ha. She laughed lightly, her hand coming back to rest on his arm telling him he didn't have to be so formal. She kept complimenting him which made him squirm because she wasn't you. He was getting nervous, and when he got nervous his face got red. You stood up telling the boy bye, and you turned around only for your smile to drop from your face quickly. You recognized the female idol, and you saw Dowoon’s red face which you confused for him being shy and flattered by whatever she was saying. You instantly went up to Dowoon’s side greeting the female with a tight lipped smile before telling her you and Dowoon had to get home before it got dark outside.

You saw the enjoyment in her eyes when she realized you were threatened by her. You tugged at Dowoon’s arm, eyes never breaking eye contact with her until you were far enough. Getting home and you would be silent not letting Dowoon touch you and ignoring him. You were passing by him on the couch when he grasped your hand asking what was up with you. You asked him if he liked the attention he got from Chung Ha with a cold tone. Dowoon tilted his head, tugging at your hand to make you sit on his lap. He looked down at you with a confused gaze. His hand cradled your jaw to make you look up to him.

“Why would I ever want anyone but you y/n? You who smiles as me even with all my flaws. Who never fails to make me happy just by being next to me. How could you ever think I could love someone else the way I love you. You y/n. My lovely y/n. You dummy.”

Dowoon would be so confused. Why would he want someone else that wasn't you. You were everything he wanted. That's why you guys were together. Why would he be as stupid as to ruin the beautiful thing you guys had?

You couldn’t just cancel your date with your partner that day, so that’s why you were sitting at the ramen restaurant Sungjin loved, still in your school/work clothes as a harsh reminder of what happened today.

“Are you okay, love? You haven’t touched your food much,” Sungjin asked you with slight worry in his voice, just after swallowing his noodles. He noticed the stress lingering on your face, evident by the thin wrinkles on your forehead. You rest your chin on your hand before answering.

“Not really.. school/work was hell today.” You caught notice of his face falling, quickly rushing another sentence out of your mouth. “It’s okay though! Thanks for the meal.”

Sungjin was clever enough to see through your lie. “Y/N, you should’ve told me this before we went. Then we could’ve rescheduled.”

“It’s fine, really, I wanted to see you anyway. Sorry for ruining this date with my bad day.”

“You didn’t ruin it Y/N, but I can tell you don’t want to be here. So let’s go home and continue the date there!”

“No no no it’s fine!”

“It’s okay, Y/N. I’ll pay for the food and we’ll head home.” You watched in utter shock as he called over the waitress, asking for the check. He quickly paid and led you out of the restaurant, mumbling a grateful thanks to him as he grabbed your hand ever so gently.

*. Jae .*

“On a scale of 1-10 Y/N, how Virgo do you think I am?” Your boyfriend asks you, stretched out on the bed like a starfish. You simply shrugged, entering the bed through your side after placing your phone down on the bedside table. Jae furrowed his eyebrows. “Bad day?”

You turned to look at him in surprise. “How’d you know?”

“You’re quieter than usual, and you would’ve told me a solid 8 out of 10 for my question.” He hears you let out a soft sigh, clearly trying to keep your calm and not explode. “Wanna talk about it?”

“About what?” You fired back with a tad bit of harshness in your tone.

“Your day.” Jae said casually, like he wasn’t affected by your response. A delayed silence loomed in the room before you timidly shook your head no, still looking up directly at the ceiling and not at your boyfriend’s face.

“It’s okay, I won’t force it out of you. Wanna do a Netflix marathon?” For the first time that day, your face broke out into a genuine smile before turning to Jae, nodding with more excitement. He smiled back before jumping out of the bed.

“Thanks,” you said with a soft voice before standing up, rising slower than Jae to head to the living room of your cozy apartment filled with love.

*. Young K .*

Brian arrived later than usual that day, making you want to pull your hair since you just wanted a single hug from him. You stood up groggily from the couch, making yourself a cup of tea to distress and wait for him longer. Not paying attention to the sound of the front door opening, you felt a pair of arms loop around your torso, almost making you drop your cup.

“God, you scared me.” You turned around, burying your head into Brian’s warm chest, feeling it vibrate along with a chuckle. He took notice of how tight you embraced him back, wondering what got you into this clingy mood.

“You good?” He felt your head shake back and forth against his chest, and sensed the feeling of your eyes welling up with tears. You felt a comforting hand rub up and down your back, trying as best as you could to not break down right then and there.

“Not really..” you murmured with such a faint voice, Brian could barely hear it. He felt his heart fall to the pit of his stomach at your dull voice. Making a swift decision, he effortlessly picked you up and made his way to the bedroom, making you squeal into his neck.

“Brian! What are you doing?” He hears a faint chuckle from you, knowing his elaborate actions helped you cheer up. Brian plopped you onto the bed, kissing your forehead before speaking.

“I’m gonna go take a quick shower and afterwards I’ll take good care of you and cheer you up, okay?” You giggled at his words before he rushed to the bathroom.

*. Wonpil .*

Arriving home to yet another empty bed filled you with more disappointment, but it was one of the many sacrifices you made to start a relationship with Wonpil. The eerie silence of the apartment almost made you paranoid, but you persisted with your nightly routine, heading to the bathroom to wash up.

Hours later, you find yourself closing your work laptop, ending work for the day. The work your job had given you felt like too much to be completed before the deadline, and you wanted nothing more but to dive into your boyfriend’s arms. Alas, he wasn’t present, but suddenly, you pressed a familiar button on your phone, being taken aback at what you just did.

“Hello Y/N?” The honey like voice of your boy was enough to make you sigh of relief, but you felt guilt as you saw the worry in his eyes. You give him a soft smile, opening your mouth to speak, but he cuts you off. “You look tired, are you okay love?” Your eyes falter for a second before you decide to shake your head no, covering your mouth with your knuckles.

“I’m sorry angel, I can’t go home for another hour or two. Is there anything I can do for you?”

“C-Can you play your keyboard for me?” You can clearly see how taken aback he is through the screen, but nonetheless gives you a gentle smile and nods

He strikes the keyboard notes with a passion you can feel in your heart. The melody fills your ears and as you watch the boy you love performing what he loves, you slowly fall back against the pillows and doze off.

*. Dowoon .*

If there was one thing Dowoon was good at when it comes to dating, it would be his effortless ways to comfort you. He somehow knew the right words to say and the right actions to perform.

As you walked into the cozy apartment you shared with him, Dowoon immediately sensed something was wrong with one look of your face. Your swollen face and dark eyebags only showed signs of struggle. You slowly remove your shoes and place them near the front door, going at a sluggish pace. Dowoon took this opportunity to stand up from his seat and walked over to you.

His worries were confirmed as he watched you stretch your arms out towards him, asking for a hug. Dowoon chuckled lightly before reciprocating the hug, rubbing your back with care.

“I can tell you had a bad day, and for whatever reason caused it, just know that I’m here now and you can finally relax. Bad days come and go, and tomorrow will be a better day. Now let’s go rest, okay? I see how tired you are.”

Feeling such a deep sense of love coming from him, you quickly reached up and kissed Dowoon’s cheek before nodding and pulling him to the bedroom.

He totally didn’t turn tomato red.

"My throat still feels tight, Jae." You admitted honestly to the eldest member in your band, who was also like an older brother too you.

"Here drink some water, you might've strained your vocal cords." He explained kindly handing you a water bottle, in hopes it'd help.

"Not possible. I've done this for years." Reluctantly though, you took the bottle from him, mumbling a low 'thanks' as soon as it made contact with your hand.

"Hence why your vocal cords are probably strained... take a break for a while." Jae chuckled at your stubbornness before his face went back to a serious expression.

"Where's the rest of the guys?" Your head turned towards Wonpil who was standing at his keyboard, fingers playing around with the keys. Though as you spoke, your body immediately acted out on instinct and you winced.

Wonpil looked up at you, eyes fluttering with worry though he didn't vocally admit it. "Store. They peaked into the studio an hour ago and said they went out for a coffee run. I think there's traffic, it's that time of an hour."

"They should hurry. I want to record the next part of the song before my voice gets worse."

"Y/n, I don't think it can get any worse... You should take a break." Wonpil finally voiced his concern, and you ignored everything he said. You knew it looked bad, hell, your throat was burning, but you didn't want to admit it and voice your own concerns.

"I don't want to take a break, Wonpil. I just want to finish this—"

For once his voice actually raised, and he made you jump. "You're going to hurt yourself even more! Please, just take a break."

Grasping at your throat gently, you smoothed over the skin, growing more and more worried than you were letting on.

"This has never happened before," you stated clearly sounding confused, then whispering, "I don't know what to do."

"What don't you know what to do?"

Shit. Younghyun was back with the others.

You stood straight, your hand flying from your throat to lay beside you. Hopefully, he hadn't heard the whole conversation, because surely he'd worry and grow irritated that you decided to put the band before your health and well-being.

Suddenly Jae spoke up from across the room, yelling very loudly, "Y/n strained her voice."

With enlarged eyes, you yelled back, "No I didn't! Stop lying Jaehyung." You scolded the oldest, using his full first name, which you almost never called him unless you were, in fact, scolding him.

Your boyfriends eyebrows knitted together in confusion, while Dowoon and Sunjin approached you quickly.

"You're hurt and you didn't tell us?" Sunjin deadpanned, while Dowoon seemed to be checking you over without actually physically touching you, just making sure you were alright other than the strained vocal voice Jae was talking about. "I'm not hurt Sunjin. Don't worry."

"Your voice sounds hoarse." Noted your boyfriend, moving swiftly past his members to stand in front of you.

He squeezed your cheeks together, forcing your lips to part slowly. He seemed to be checking your mouth, most likely your throat. He seemed so curious and worried, and this was what you were afraid of.

"Younghyun stop! You're embarrassing me!" Swatting him away was easier said and thought of than done because the tall man would not give up and was very persistent.

"It's not that big of a deal..." you whispered, that same soreness coming back instantly as soon as you spoke. "It is. Your throat is really red, and you sound hoarse. I can tell you're in pain."

"No, seriously, I'm not. And I didn't strain my voice, it's just a cold."

"She did. But she refuses to take a break."

"Jaehyung shut the hell up."

[Sep. 13, 2019]

"You've strained your vocal cords, they're not permanently damaged though, which is incredible since you told me you've been feeling a soreness for a while now." The doctor exclaimed, sending waves of relief your way with her words.

"You're very strong, but it's not good to continue singing, or else you won't heal properly or at all."

"So that means, singing is off-limits for a while." Your heart dropped to the floor.

"How long are we talking?"

She shrugged, "6-12 weeks or maybe 5 months give or take."

"No, no. I'm sorry ma'am—" Standing to your feet with a slight bounce, your face heated up with anger and your heart once again dropped. "But that's not possible. I have a concert coming up."

Younghyun placed a comforting hand in your shoulder, squeezing gently. "It's okay, I'm sure the guys will understand, so will the fans," he reassured. "We can cancel and reschedule."

"But—"

"It's for the better." You frowned. It felt like you were throwing your dreams away, and you hated feeling this way. You felt very out of place. Singing was your release of so many emotions and other things. How could you just stop, even just for a little while?

"I'm going to prescribe you medicine, it should help the healing process go faster. Also, here's a number for a therapist. They'll help you strengthen your vocal cords without straining anything,

"You shouldn't go right away, and let your throat heal a little more. Go in about a month and they can help you. That's if you follow my directions."

You sighed sadly at her words. Younghyun though was on the edge of his seat, listening to every word and all the helpful advice she was sending your way.

"Treat it as if you have a sore throat. Drink tons of liquids, specifically warm, talking must be minimum, and don't whisper; that makes it worse and can cause more hoarseness."

To say the least, you would try your headrest to right the urges to go against what she was saying. But overall, she was just trying to help you, and if you had people around you who could help, the more the better.

The walk to the car was quick, and you rushed ahead of Younghyun, hoping to avoid any form of conversation because you'd probably break down crying.

"She's not saying you're broken." He suddenly said, with his long arm, easily grabbing your elbow gently in his hand. "This can be healed. Take time off and rest."

"I know. But I don't want too."

[Oct. 22, 2019]

A whole month has gone by, and you were seeing results, you had been going to therapy, taking the medicine, and doing whatever the doctor had told you to do. Everything was going great so far. All you were waiting for was news about the concert and any possible cancelations, after all, it was coming up.

"Hey guys, I just got back from therapy and I have good news!" You called out through the band room, searching for your five other members who said they would be here today.

"That's amazing! What's the news?" Jae was the first to exit the recording studio, eyes glittering with curiosity as he plopped himself on a nearby chair

You slowed down, smile faltering as your eyes searched around the room for your boyfriend and three other members who seemed to be missing.

"Weren't we all supposed to me meet today?" You asked, gently tossing your bag and keys onto the couch near the door.

"Yeah, and we still are." He looked nervous about something, that much you could tell as you watched his cheery smile fall and disappear.

"Then where are the other four?"

"In the meeting room. We have to talk. It's pretty important." He stood from the chair and began guiding you towards the room in the back where you usually held "meetings".

You followed after the tall chicken little lookalike, all the whole worrying about what was to come.

"Is one of them sick?"

"No."

Your eyebrows furrowed, and your heart sped up. Stepping into the room you found yourself staring at the four other boys all sitting around a table, all the while accompanied by a girl with long straight burgundy colored hair, she was conversing with them all, and you were left confused. You had never seen her before.

"Then... did the concert get rescheduled?" Ignoring the girl you looked directly up at Jae, hoping he would just look at you and answer your question.

It took him a lot longer to answer than you thought for, but eventually, he did.

"We couldn't cancel or reschedule, the show was sold out." He explained, going to take one of the empty seats by Dowoon. "So... we have someone who can fill in; she'll only be temporary." He reassured most likely with the intention of keeping you calm and not worried.

"She can hit the same notes and has the same vocal range as you." The girl who looked about your age,

"You're replacing me?"

"No of course not!

"It's just for the few upcoming performances?"

"Performances? As in multiple?" Looking around the room, everyone's gazed on you seemed to be mimic one another's.

Jae even hesitated at first, he'd hurt your feelings.  "Yeah, our manager called earlier, and said a few companies want us to headline at their events."

"They're all happening within the next month."

"Oh.. I mean that's good news right?" You tried to sound happy, but in reality, you were jealous and angry, and you had every right to be, but you also felt that in a way you were being selfish.

But what you didn't know was that the new girl would seemingly be thought of as a new member months down the road and you'd be forgotten.

and to answer your question, I haven't been to a mx concert 🥲 they've never gone to Canada, and the one time they planned to go (their "north America" tour [the US and Toronto 🥴] that got pushed back maybe,,, 3 times 💀) I didn't want to because i remember wonho's departure being pretty fresh and only wanting to see ot7 (among other reasons). and i think in the most recent rescheduling of this tour, they got rid of the Only canada date -__- but! if they come to Canada again (post covid + enlistment hiatus) i'd want to go!!

outside of monsta x, I also really like day6! i think i'd consider them tied w mx. that's all the groups I follow semi-closely, but i casually listen to red velvet, sunmi, some female soloists, and a Lot of k-indie (my favourite artist in that category is dosii!).

Hi everyone, this is in continuation of my post Uni Series Part 8 Four Secrets Uni Tells You, and to answer a recent anon ask: 

Where are some of the best places to study and what are some good tips on sticking to the schedule you've made for the week? Because I'm always finding myself not fulfilling all the things I had for the day ( in terms of what chapters I intended to study)

For sticking to the schedule, (this is assuming you aren’t just procrastinating the whole time away)

One way to overcome the planning fallacy is to use timeboxing, that is, planning a time where you’ll do a particular task, instead of just using a plain to do list.

You need to remember not to let one task that runs overtime run you off track. If you run overtime, just reschedule that other task to another day.

You need to be realistic about how much you can accomplish in a day. Planning fallacy means that tasks will take longer than you expect. In my Uni Series Part 8 Four Secrets Uni Tells You, it’s actually recommended that you estimate how long you take to do a task, then double that time. Yes, that’s right, double it.

The other thing is that you should break things into smaller parts. This is another way to overcome the planning fallacy known as the Segmentation Effect; the smaller the parts the better you get at estimating how long it takes to complete it.

e.g. 1 chapter of maths homework, (5 parts, 20 questions), you think takes an hour.

But if you think about 1 part, you might actually change that estimate to 15 minutes per part (=1 hr 15 mins),

then if you actually time yourself for a few questions, you find it takes you about 5 minutes a question (=1 hour 20 mins).

But questions are harder as you go (and same with study), so it actually ends up taking about 10 minutes to do each of the questions in the last two parts (=2 hours).

Another way to overcome the planning fallacy is to get a friend to estimate how much time you’ll take to do it. Research shows that when other people estimate how long a task will take, they don’t suffer from optimism bias. 

Start early to finish early!
