Dragon's visages include clothing, so asking a dragon to remove their cloaks or shoes can expose them as dragons (works less reliably on blues, who are fluent in illusion magic).

Telling mortals you don't trust or know that you're a dragon is a very dangerous and bad idea, as many humans and other race hunt dragons for sport, materials and sometimes simply fear.

The main flights are currently infertile and unable to lay fertile eggs. This is leading to them heading towards extinction.

Whelplings can hear and are aware inside their eggs, and are often taught while still captive growing.

There is a lot of armor and foods made from dragon parts, boots, belts, chest pieces, dragonbreath chili calls for whelpling flame glands.

Headcanons

The Draconic language is felt in your chest, and their words often have double or triple meanings, which are understood when heard. This is overwhelming for mortals, and often still misunderstood or confuses them.

If you speak a dragon's name, they feel it like a plucked chord in their chest.

Recently there is rumors of a few dragons that have perfected "naked" visages, but this means they must wear clothing, and risk ruining them if they need to revert to their true form in a hurry.

Whelplings are infants, while they are smart creatures, and can have average adult human intellect, they are still children. Looking at you 12-15yr old Wrathion. This is only in Headcanons bc Blizz is weird about making Wrathion seem like an adult. I stg, it's weird af.

The spreading of the glowing algae across his skin is directly related, along with the gills, to how he ended up letting Greed and Selfishness corrupt him. The very idea of a water seraph drowning must sound insane, but why would you seek to swim if you only end up being a burden again?

A burden? To the others? Is it because he’s physically lacking the strength and height of a majority of his peers? That was always a big issue in his eyes. But, like this, there’s benefits…

To say “I want him to look at ME” would be an understatement. Mikleo wants Sorey to see him, of course, but he wants to see EVERYONE take notice. The azure arrow that he may one day use as a blunt weapon by hand, and the sacred bow he brought into abyssal depths of the ocean, the only memory of when a boy calling his name was a good memory. Now it’s just, well, now it’s just rotten.

Much like the air he failed to get, much like the fear he felt while unable to move. Much like the jealousy of not being the favorite, and much like the marks along his body that burned as they spread.

To say growing a pair of horns hurt, is a fucking understatement. It was agony, bleeding through your vision and screaming only for water to fill your lungs and try to snuff out the life of one of its own children. The tail hurt too, like anything that involves your spine getting far larger than before, rightfully would.

But. In the end. For once, he was what he wanted of himself. He was strong, and powerful, he still had his wits end, and he glowed with the radiance none of the OTHERS could get. Nobody else could look that way. Nobody. So now they’d HAVE to notice him, right?

Jealousy, often times, the selfish nature and the greedy need, roots deeply in insecurity.

Black Friday Struggles

Another year, another Thanksgiving, another Black Friday, another several weeks of hardship for people in shipping and retail. Three of Bastiel’s ‘sonas and mine having their struggles with Christmas consumption. Fox-Bas aka Bazaar working check-out, the strain of standing for so long while so pregnant starting to get to him. Dragon/Kobold Bas managing his store and being at their wits’ end seeing the coming inventory. Snake Bas struggles in the storeroom – she may be big (and one of the strongest Bas forms in my mind), but it’s still a repetitive strain, especially with this clutch getting in the way and adding weight that she can’t put down. And my Darren, losing his patience with his latest workload and giving into an overwhelming combination of burning rage and crushing despair. I’ve been getting really depressed with my truck loading job over the past few months, and (not to get too into their life out of respect and privacy) Bas has some retail job miseries as well. And Black Friday is when things really start turning downhill for us and others who do these jobs. Something to keep in mind this week, up to Christmas, and during post-holiday returns. Physical media, especially CDs, is so important to me because it takes me off my phone. Sure I have an endless stream of music on my phone, but the danger there is that it’s endless. I could spend half an hour just browsing music to find one song to listen to, whereas I can just pick an album and put it into my CD player and not have the temptation of cycling through all the songs to find one.

As a writer, half the battle is fighting the procrastination to start a story or finish a chapter or try to pick up where I left off. Going through the music on my phone for half an hour gives me that excuse, but I'll just spend five minutes looking at my CDs to decide what I want to vibe with while I’m writing and carry on with what I actually wanted to do.

Digital media is super convenient, it’s great for when you’re out of the house or maybe don’t have the room to own all the things you want to, but sometimes it’s a little too convenient. 

From one writer to others, get yourself a CD player and some of your favourite albums, vibe with the music but let it become background noise for your thoughts while you write. It might not help for most people, but I think it’ll help some, it’s taken me a long time to learn the best things to help me write.
