In honor of the queapboot being cancelled, a collection of my favorite moments from it from memory but in no particular order
1. When Hannah asked Ben if he thought it was possible for someone to love two people at once, hardlaunching the idea of polyamory
2. Magic lying to a random government official by telling her that Ben could save her dead brother if she allowed the program to continue with the full knowledge that this wouldn’t happen.
3. “His wife, and Al.”
4. Ben and Addison breaking up and Addison being out of the imaging chamber for like half a season ❤️ allowing the side characters to be actual characters.
5. When we had a Very Special Episode about the LA riots and Jenn dropped the line that she “went to a school that wasn’t afraid to teach black history”. Notably, the next episode she did not know what operation paperclip was.
6. Ian saying they were better than everyone else because they were the only one who cares about Ben
7. The return of the evil leapers as like a concept. And by leapers I mean one guy.
8. One time Ben wore an old timey flight stewardess outfit and it was pretty hot
9. The season 2 premiere just being a suicide squad including a guy who’s crime was being gay and he comes out after standing on a land mine but they all use the power of friendship to save him
10. The season 2 finale being inexplicably amazing. Like season 2 was generally pretty good but the finale was GREAT. Also the genuinely legendary haterism of the seasons big bad was a sight to behold he was about to reverse flash it.
11. When Ben leaped into a woman for the first time and was really, really excited about having a vagina
12. BEN SONG BEING SUCH A #ALLY THAT HE INVENTS BEING NONBINARY

s3ep28, "Coronation Day" [Naomi tries to help Elena get ready to be coronated as Queen of Avalor. Later, in the last part of this episode, she decides, in perhaps the peak Elenaomi moment of the entire series, to make Naomi her "chancellor" in what almost looks like a marriage/relationship proposal.]
Movie
Elena and the Secret of Avalor [Bookended by scenes of Elena and Naomi hanging out together, atop a waterfall. Some Elenaomi fans have called this a "secret date spot." During their conversation Elena recalls Shuriki and her parents, and Naomi teases Elena about her age, saying she is "57" (she isn't effectively*, but that's another story for another day)]
*As it says on the fandom page, she is age "57-58 (in season 1; chronologically)" but is, biologically, only 16-17 in season 1. By season 3 she is age 19-20 biologically. I would say the chronological number is total bunk, as her biological age didn't change, so...

Cookie nods immediately in agreement with this plan.
Gale looks much less sure. Not a no but it's clear she doesn't want to say yes.
Stammers also launches into immediate agreement. "Sounds like the right plan. You can hand over that'un and me and-" He breaks off, his shit eating grin fading as he looks at Revolver's glower. Stammers visibly swallows hard. "If'n tha- thas - that is is - if that is - that is if that's ok with you…-" He asks more than says, "Sir?"
Revolver gives the shortest of grunts, rolling his eyes as if he has let out the longest sigh of the ages at this mahakalary. "Why we need two people to return roped rexes?"
Stammers says, "Because of the evil giant spider gods, of course." Revolver actually accuses, "That is mahakalary," this time.
"I ain - I ain - ain't I - I ain't n-no mahakala."
"You is."
"Oh, for the love of gunpowder!" Cookie explodes. "You are both tiny little mahakalas. Mahakala eggs. Ugly Little Mahakala Caviar, 30 Hessmarks an ounce served on left over bean cake crackers! Both of you shut up. Stammers, stop being you. Revolver, you talk too much. Go. Go!"
"But-," Gale objects. "Wouldn't more people make us safer?"
Cookie looks to Zach in exasperation. "You know this is true, a fool extra is worse than a rex short. Yes? I say you sic Demon-Tooth on them and everyone is safer."
---
You may shoo them for free. You can try to charm anyone to do something else that you want (draw 8 cards = 5 + charm of 3; but playing only 5 and telling me the hand). Either to convince someone to stay or go or even to bolster Gale's confidence to make the decision.
You can also decide to just go and leave them to the nonsense, Gale and Cookie will come along with you within a couple of seconds. Stammers will try and take Little Leaper back. Which you can simply allow or try to stop by reflexively dodging away from him (draw 9) or just pull on the rope harder than he will (draw 5 for overpower). Either way, after a few minutes, Revolver will catch up with you to join the trike fetch. He won't say anything unless someone speaks to him first.
You can also decide to simply ignore it all as they handle the social end of things and try and assess the area to find the path of the triceratops flight (draw 7).
As ever, a draw is 5 cards + the relevant score, but you can only play 5. Hands are scored as below. If you ever want to do anything else, just let me know. If your final score is a runt, please let me know the exact card, suit and value, that is your highest card. Card value order is: Ace (14 - can also be worth 1 in a hand better than a runt but it is always 14 in a Runt), Queen (13), King (12), Jack (11), 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, (A - though in a runt it will always worth 14, not 1), Beast (0).

The Stokkull goes by many other names, especially since saying its true name is believed to summon it. One such name is "Blödkuhvalur," which has led to the other title of "Flap Whale." Some simply call it "Jumper" or "Leaper," for reasons we will get into later. All that aside, we will just stick to calling this species the Stokkull. This evil whale is indeed a whale, though it tends to be sighted less than its relatives. This is because the Stokkull spends most of its time far down below, scouring the dark regions of the ocean for food. They do have to come up to the surface for air, but these periods are brief, as they quickly fill up and return to the depths.
A big reason why they are rarely seen near the surface waters is because they can go long periods without needing a breath. It is currently believed that they can stay underwater for over two hours before needing to fill their lungs again! And during that time, they are diving far below the surface, straight into the abyss! How can a mammal pull of such a feat? Well, we believe the answer lies in their odd, flabby skin. If you have ever seen a specimen or drawing of a Stokkull, you will notice weird flaps, flabby bits and blotchy skin. An odd look for a normally streamlined group of animals! These odd bits, however, are not just for funny looks. It is believed that these patches and flabs are made up of a special kind of tissue that is perfect for storing air and for regulating gas inside the Stokkull's body. When catching its breath on the surface, some of the air taken into its lungs is transferred to these patches of tissue, which store the excess for later. Down below, this special flesh can slowly add it back into the bloodstream, keeping the whale moving and functioning long after its lungs would have been depleted. This tissue is also believed to help with pressure changes, changing in consistency and moving certain gases so that they do not disrupt normal bodily functions. This is how the Stokkull is able to go so far down, yet come right back up without any issues. A lot of other animals cannot do that, and it is certainly not something you should test out for yourself!
Its large size and bulky body makes it look like a powerhouse, so surely it is a brute of the sea! On the diet side...no, not really. Despite their powerful frame and obscene mass, this whale feeds simply on squid and small fish. Their maw is not designed for chowing down on large bony prey, rather their thin jaw is meant to clamp onto squishy squirmy prey so that they can be slurped up! While I say they eat just squid, it should be noted that squid that far down can get to colossal sizes! Absolutely massive beasts, but still soft and squishy enough to be on the Stokkull's menu. They hunt down their prey with echolocation, blasting the darkened sea with sound so that they can "see." In a world where light cannot reach, normal eye sight is useless. You either get highly specialized eyes or you just ditch these organs all together. The Flap Whale has gone the latter route, as their eyes are greatly reduced. Even if they could function, it wouldn't matter, as large flaps of blubbery flesh have grown over them. Some think that it is because the eyes are slowly being removed from this species as a whole, that these flaps will eventually bury them for good. Others think it may be there to protect the eyes from enemy attack, so that a barbed tentacle or angry beak cannot gouge them out. We currently don't have any solid evidence, and since they live in the dark abyss, I don't think we will be observing much about them anytime soon. Back to the feeding, the Stokkull uses echolocation to detect its prey. In a realm where sight often fails, using this method allows them to penetrate the eternal darkness. Their large snout is packed with a waxy fluid that allows them to generate powerful blasts of sound and also detect the slightest noise. It is great for picking up the faintest trace of prey, and perfect for stunning them by unleashing a powerful sonic wave! Getting hit with such a force will incapacitate prey for a bit, which is often enough time for the Stokkull to nab them with its jaws. Large squids may be stunned for a moment, but they won't go down without a fight. The hide of washed up specimens shows the numerous scars they gain from such battles. Though it doesn't rear its head all that often, the Stokkull is indeed a member of the Illhveli. While it doesn't hang around the surface waters for long, it leaves quite the impression upon those who run into them. As a large whale, they tend to gain the attention of whalers, who may misidentify them from a distance. They only see a snout or a brief glimpse of the back breaking the surface before it vanishes again, so they don't get a real good look. The best way to properly identify their target is to get closer, and that is when the problems start. While the Stokkull is big, it isn't the biggest thing in the ocean and it also isn't the top of the food chain. Other predators may eye these whales for food, so the Flap Whale has to be ready to defend itself from other leviathans. This means they can get agitated around similar sized creatures, and larger ships can fit that size range. With flesh hanging over their eyes, they can't really look to see if it is an actual predator or just a boat, so they just respond to everything with violence.
When something big and intimidating gets close, they start thrashing and fighting. Their large snout hits like a battering ram, and it can shatter whale boats with a single blow. Running into things isn't their only option, as there is a reason they are called "Jumper" and "Leaper." When threatened, the Stokkull will push all their strength into speed and breach violently from the ocean. Despite their size, they can gain a surprising amount of height, until they come crashing back down. This maneuver is meant to crush other predatory animals, but it also works against ships. Stick a harpoon in one of these beasts, and it will leap from the water and squash your boat like a bug. This move is quite dangerous, and it doesn't help that they do it a lot whenever they think they are being attacked. Even if you turned them into a pincushion with harpoons, the Stokkull would keep thrashing and jumping, often taking its attackers down with it. While they are a great threat to whalers, their special tissue is bursting with oil and can fetch quite a price on the market. It is said that a single Stokkull can provide more oil than three whales combined, and since it comes out as Illhveli oil it is worth a whole lot more. Some folk are willing to take such a risk, as hauling in one would bring in a fortune, but it means you have to come back from one of these battles alive. A dead Stokkull gives you nothing when your boat is sinking to the bottom of the sea with it.   Chlora Myron Dryad Natural Historian       --------------------------------------------------------- It's a sperm whale with flabby bits! Then I added more flabby bits! Do they make sense? Probably not but here we are!

Knull is Arriving and the Marvel Comics Universe Will Have to Deal with the “King in Black”
Tumblr media
Knull will hit the Marvel Comics Universe in December with Donny Cates and Ryan Stegman’s King in Black, the next chapter of their Venom run. However, no one in the Marvel Universe is safe.
King in Black: Planet of the Symbiotes will have two King in Black chapters. Scream returns in writer Clay McLeod Chapman and artist Guiu Vilanova story. Scream will have to take on her siblings, the other Life Foundation symbiotes, so we may find out just who is the strongest of Venom’s offspring. Writer Frank Tieri and artist Danilo Beyruth’s story will head back to Ravencroft Institute, picking up from the recent Ravencroft series and revealing Knull’s legacy on Earth and the role that Cortland Kasady, Carnage/Cletus Kasady’s ancestor will have to play.
King in Black: Planet of the Symbiotes #1 (of 3) hits shelves in January 2021.
Tumblr media
Gwenom is joining the fight against Knull in writer Seanan McGuire and artist Flaviano’s King in Black: Gwenom vs Carnage. Yep, Gwen Stacy from Earth-65 will need to defend her new home universe from Carnage.
King in Black: Gwenom vs Carnage #1 (of 3) hits shelves in January 2021.
Tumblr media
The Black Knight is also dealing with the symbiote threat. King in Black: Black Knight, from writer Simon Spurrier and artist Jesus Saiz, follows Dane Whitman, the Black Knight, as he grapples with surprises from the past, his own growing evil, and a horde of symbiote dragons above Shanghai.
King in Black: Black Knight #1 hits shelves in January 2021.
Tumblr media
The Valkyries will also have to contend with The King in Black in King in Black: Return of the Valkyries from writers Jason Aaron and Torunn Grønbekk and artist Nina Vakueva.
