Revice character analysis *Incomplete*
( this isn't even half of what I was supposed to write, it's a totally incomplete analysis, I started writing but never got the chance to finish properly. It's been sitting on my notes, but finally with some courage, and inspiration from @scoups4lyfe , I'm posting this.)
George Karizaki:
Tumblr media
starting with my favourite, yes I'm biased. First, let's just celebrate the fact that I even HAVE a favorite this time? Because despite popular belief, I don't always give out 'fav' title in every season. Even when said seasons are very good and full of good characters.
... But looks like I don't have to write a thing. someone already did a breakdown, of the main question, of Juuga arc. Who? Oh no, not just any random fan.
The actor himself, Hamao Noritaka. He wrote it all! Explained everything!!
When you don't write breakdowns for years, and only come back to find out actors themselves took up the job. 🙄🤣
Tumblr media
This actor is a fan himself, and truely so. Well, Nori-chan (yes, I'm using this name) Mainly explained why George went berserk in 47-48, I have something more to say. But He pointed out some things I didn't think of either. Makes sense, as my main clues are from actor's subtle expressions, of course the actor himself should know better!
So at first glance, George Karizaki is... Pure entertainment 🤣. Yep. End of discussion.
He's insufferable, a manchild, pain to work with, also incredibly lonely. In a chill mode most of the time, always having fun, but also uses this persona as coping mechanism.
Has no idea how to deal with serious emotions.
Wants to appear to be in Control, not showing weakness. Tries to act cool and unattached.
...........
Relationship with father:
Goerge clearly had a sweet relationship with his father in his childhood, loved and respected him, masumi was also such a nice and encouraging father. Crystal clear from flashbacks.
Also from the very 1st episode, before any flashback, we see how George looks up to Masumi, and still misses him. Yes, the scene of fenix ceremony. When George was talking about visstamp history, after saying "my father made those..." There was a little pause, then he said 'but he died' with very faint, bittersweet expression.
He also regularly attends Masumi's death memorial, as seen in ep 21/22?
So yah, he respects and misses his father, but came to accept and live with it for all these years. But then eeeverything crashes.
And isn't it funny how he figured this all out in the background ? Unlike main characters typically in such situations, he didn't get a grand revealation like 'whaaat! Daddy you're aliiive!!' he pieced together clues, investigated, and came to this conclusion by himself.
Without any emotional support to handle this grave situation.
Even before knowing the fact about inner demon transfer thingy, I saw a bit of 44 when George refuses to visit his father. Thought of another simple psychological state.
Denial. forced detachment.
He lost his father once, it was definitely sad enough then, plus at such young age. Definitely came to adjust and accept this loss over the years, as normal.
But to find out he's actually alive and then lose him soon AGAIN? For 2nd time? 'I'd rather not care, I'd rather not feel.' tried to deny, and not care, to not feel hurt again.
This idea wasn't exactly true, but still not totally invalid. SO many factors and emotions played roles in this case, ultimately resulting in the breakdown.
Ep 28. Scene- first time facing his father,
"Why didn't you tell me you're alive?" Then his father kept talking about defeating Giff, the world, etc.
But in that moment, with every step George kun took, he couldn't hear the 'world' or giff or whatever. His mind was filled with resentment,
'I'm facing you after ALL this time, and you keep talking about missions, you're not even explaining yourself, I have So many questions, and yet everything else comes first to you, before me? just answer my obvious simple question! How could you? How could you?!!Why? Whywhywhy...'
Masumi was dying, and made it his life's goal to redeem himself of the vail incident, spent his last moments engrossed in it too. Very logical and understable, but to George? It hurt.
'Why couldn't you focus on ME, our time more, and a bit less on the world' , as illogical as it sounds. Also resentment about all the mistakes Kari-chan papa did before, they're separated in the 1st place because of those, and had to spend the entire time fixing those.
He felt abandoned, and used.
Juuga arc:
why didn't it happen sooner and longer??! Lol.
Going berserk and totally unhinged (and suuuper cool! )
Was, in simple words, Goerge's strange way of dealing with grief. Dude has no idea how to deal with such emotions.
Despite everything, did you notice how incredibly lonely this guy is? How he barely deals with serious, real emotions?
Now, a big problem here is that I'm missing some info right here, the summer movie takes place right at this time, so might be missing some important piece of info. Also chic, his father's transferred demon , we barely know any info about that. chic is a villain in the movie, released from George. So gimme info!!
If George's behaviour was indeed influenced by chic, that would change some explanation.. but right now I'm describing things mostly without this effect.
I might have to update this part after the movie comes out.
(*later Update: Summer movie came out, and no, no explanation on this whatsoever. A surprising lack of, I'd say. Chic was one of the main villains there, but George didn't even have a proper talk! Chic is definitely interesting, everything demanded a proper face off or conversation at least, between these 2! Like come on!
And the movie doesn't even transition well from chimera special, I mean George's mood is nothing like in chimera. He's not supposed to be the usual peppy Kari-chan, he was already unhinged in chimera special!)
Someone from FB noted that transfer of Masumi's demon gave George 'imposter syndrome'. It happens in real life, when you doubt your own achievements as someone else's influence.
If all this time he had the part of his father, not sure how much chic influenced him, so everything he did, achieved, invented, was it his own doing, or was it just because of his father? Who am I? He thought he's been controlled, as clear from the lines "in the end I've been dancing in daddy's palm" and "he transferred his demon to control me".
Character development -
Why you became kinda nice later, George- kun? 😝
He slowly started caring for the igarashis, particularly, Daiji's wellbeing. The change seemed sudden at ep 26, when he was genuinely concerned about daiji vs kagerou situation.
But the reason is, from 25, after learning about the igarashi secret and his father's involvement in this whole thing, experimenting on Genta was the reason why the fam, the siblings are in this mess. So that... Kinda gave him a sense of responsibility and guilt? (From This guy, yes!) That's the point when he visibly became more caring. Probably.
......…..
(more observations, theory and questions coming up next!)

Those evil designs are so so good, and now I'm wondering how the regular versions would react to these evil selves, especially Ikki and Vice. Cause like Ikki's definitely gonna despair over the fact that his family was killed and he wasn't able to do anything about it, but it's also gonna fuck Vice up a lot. During the whole Jack Revice arc Vice was worried that he was gonna snap and hurt Ikki's family, but Ikki reassures him that that's not gonna happen… and then it turns out this other version of him did exactly that. It's terrifying.
Anyways sorry for the mini rant, it's just that as resident Vice enjoyer I think about him all the time lmao

Hmm.. dunno if you refered to this regarding Hiromi not self-preserving, but I think he does get warned about it by several characters
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And he does listen since his return, and it's said again in Revice Forward:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But it seems that, in my screenshot sent, many people still at large ignore this and only define heroism by how much they suffer or self-torture themselves in their actions.
Dunno if I'm wrong but perhaps what those characters said are ignored by the fanbase? Perhaps because in their eyes, those characters just try to prevent these 'heroes' from doing good? (or 'being bitter that they can't be as righteous as Hiromi' or such, dunno) I do see that it seems that self-preservance is considered as "evil" trait provided by Kagerou to Daiji needed to "balance" him, before his heel turn Daiji was viewed as "too heroic" by the fanbase for throwing his life without thought.
More Hiromi ranting afoot :))
Well, Daiji and Akemi are missing a lot of context in terms of Hiromi's character. They both think Hiromi's self-sacrificial tendencies just stem from his desire to make up for his mistakes and perceived failure. So to them it would appear as though Hiromi was just senselessly throwing his life away for the sake of his pride.
Of course, while we know there's more to it than that, but they don't. That's why their arguments don't tend to be upheld- we have the context that they do not. And the fandom simply gives Hiromi's perspective priority, because... well, that's how he sees what he does.
While Hiromi's pride was wounded by his "failures" and him being able to fight as a Rider was him trying to fix that, there was also another, bigger reason why he was so gung-ho about self-sacrifice in particular. It stems from the example set by his father, who died in the line of duty as a police officer when Hiromi was only a kid. That was the standard Hiromi felt he had to live up to. All or nothing.
And, well, isn't that the case for most people? The standard of a hero is set by someone who is willing to sacrifice something, for someone else's sake. Heroes are defined by sacrifice. And of course, the ultimate sacrifice is that of one's own life.
But, there is more to being a hero than what they sacrifice, and this is what Hiromi had to learn. It's what that sacrifice does that counts.
Commander Wakabayashi is kind of a funny example here because, well, he's not actually there. From one perspective that could be just Hiromi talking to his spirit or whatever, but my own interpretation that's his own heart reminding him of what's important. He just envisioned Wakabayashi because of their mentor-student relationship. (And yeah, that means Hiromi's heart is telling him he's doing a stupid and he should stop, lol.)
But there is a difference in what Hiromi was doing before, and what Hiromi did now. Before, Hiromi thought that only by sacrificing his life can he become a hero. When the truth is that, of course, it isn't the case.
As for Daiji... honestly, his whole plot line quite the mess and I suspect that Kagerou wasn't originally meant to come back at all at the end of it. I don't think he represents self-preservation as you say... early in the series I thought he represented the stuff Daiji actively repressed, to put up this "acceptable" front for everyone else. But towards the end I was less sure, it's quite vague.

It can get really awkward sometimes when your mom watches the same shows as you because she can start talking about this one character from one show right when you opened a fic where he gets banged by his two younger boyfriends.

i’ve seen some people “pressed” (idk if i’d say that, but like annoyed at least) that reika said sakura and hana have a “sisterly bond” and then bring up that scene from episode 33 like “does this look like a sisterly bond?” and while the producers (i’m pretty sure) have said that’s what they intended, do people not realize that reika is only basing this claim of sisterly-ness off the one time she saw them have some banter while they fight? that kind of behavior, while not exclusive to sibling, is pretty common. she wasn’t even in episode 33 of revice, so she wouldn’t have any knowledge of what went down.
like.. whatever the fuck the writers have claimed has never stopped people from shipping characters, so i don’t know why people are making such a big deal about it now.

Just watched episode 3 of Kamen Rider Revice.
I’m getting salty already knowing that Daiji will become a Kamen Rider and Sakura probably wont. If anyone in Ikki’s family other than him is deserving of becoming a Kamen Rider, it’s Sakura.

Ilysm I give you kisses 🧎🏻‍♀️ I feel less bad continuing to rant about the twins now that they're on the list proper but also, I'll continue to thirst about Mikey soon I promise
I just would like your opinion about the Sinclair twins. 👀
What do you think their favorite positions are respectfully? Also, favorite body part(s) from their partner.
I think Bo would be really into oral revicing as an after note. King would want you on his dick as much as possible when it's not penetration time.
-💙
ily2 baby blue, I return all your kisses tenfold! They should have been on the list a long time ago, but they’re there now so yay! And yes please, don’t forget about Mikey 🧎‍♀️
As for favorite positions and body parts…
Bo: cowgirl, doggy (giving and receiving, because surprise he’s subby and will take the strap). His favorite part of his partner’s body is their mouth and breasts of course. He’s high key a mama’s boy
Vincent: cowgirl, lotus, missionary, mating press—any position where he can see your face. His favorite part of your body is everything, it all flows together to create his beautiful muse. There’s nothing he doesn’t like.
Bo would like oral a lot but he’d have to earn it. Only good boys get head 😤

The 'Karizaki inner demon' talk:
So, we know the whole deal with George's father putting his own inner demon in George thing.
And I found it to be a very interesting new concept - look, so far in Revice, George is the only human who's had someone else's inner demon in him. How to do that? What are the effects exactly? That's a unique concept, unfortunately never explained or explored.
And I don't even see anyone mention this potential plot for future Revice projects.
Tumblr media
I was kind of hoping that Revice summer movie would touch on this topic at least, because Chic, the said demon, is one of the main villains in this movie!!
Tumblr media
But no, no explanation on this whatsoever. A surprising lack of, I'd say. Chic was causing a lot of chaos, but George didn't even have a proper talk with him? Chic is definitely interesting, everything demanded a proper face off or conversation at least, between these 2! Like come on! (I knew I can't expect karizaki family stuff in an igarashi familia movie, but just a few more lines maybe?)
And the movie doesn't even transition well from chimera special, I mean George's mood is nothing like in chimera. He was not supposed to be the usual peppy Kari-chan...? he was already unhinged in chimera special!
George-kun definitely has many issues to solve.
as I've mentioned before, George's unique state makes him the perfect specimen... Err I mean candidate... (Well yah specimen) For further experiments, right?? ( Btw, I promise I'm nowhere near being a mad scientist or a criminal consultant! 😇) If he's not doing that himself already, someone else definitely should, and would. Like how to put someone else's demon ? Does it only work with parent-child? (Inheriting traits analogy) and in a very rider-ish way, how many can a person take?
Also, how come Chic is so fully matured/intelligent like the Igarashi demons? It's been said that they're so powerful/fully functional because having giff cells, only Igarashi demons are like that, usually other people spawn a mindless monster. But chic is on par with vice, vail and Kagerou, even stronger than lovekov! So.... How? Kari-chan papa, what did you do? How? Is it because Chic was implanted and had years of time to mature? Or could you have secretly experimented on YOURSELF, senior karizaki?? 👀Or maYBe even oN George?!!
Most likely because his own subconsciousness was fused with his father's and that gave ride to an even bigger mad scientist type persona, but that's my assumption, I need the show to say these.
Experiment!! Answers!! (Again, I swear I'm not a criminal consultant)
The new organization in Live-Evil-demons v-cinema could've done this experiment, but nope. Now only the Juuga special remains. But I doubt I'll get to see this topic even there 😭.

OKAY!
Tumblr media
Ignore my ranting from before I ate a GF Oreo drank some water and partially laid down. I’m basically a new person. >:))))
I’m dropping Revice analysis posts within these next 42 hours.
WHAT TO EZPECT:
>:DD First and foremost an analysis of ‘Go With The Flo” Igarashi Sibs Theme insert song via lyrical breakdown
* Detailed analysis of episode four (and some of episode 3) and why that episode deserves fking AWARDS for everything it managed to do in the span of 22 minutes. (Foreshadowing, Ikki/Kagerou arc set up, parallelism, Ikki knowing more than he lets on but being a repressing repressor that represses and possible arc foreshadowing)
* a post analyzing the writers intentionality (or I guess providing a compilation of evidence that the writers/director know what they’re doing and boy oh boy are they such bastards for it ); basically analyzes the moments where convincing red herrings were used; plot foreshadowing or little details being set up for future episodes / arcs; etc)
Right and then I wanted to ask/poll here sort’ve; but after I post the three above things; what analysis would y’all like to see next?
A Deadmans 3 relationship analysis (aka ‘Why is Oltecca LIKE THIS to Julio? 🧐🧐) where I analyze their interactions from first episode to present. See if maybe hindsight is 20/20)
Idk my mind immediately went “haha GEORGE analysis.” Cause I’m absolutely dumbfounded by his and Ikki’s ep 18 interactions lmao.
ThIRD option: ????? (Idk anon or DM me if you got suggestions :00))

Revice 48:
I'm not excusing George's actions. But I am understanding him. He is afraid everything he did was becuase Chic, and thus Masumi, was controlling him. He wasn't but still. His actions would've been less severe if he was more mentally stable. And he'll be kept around the rest of the cast more to make sure he's not insane, rather than because they forgave him.
It hurt when Ikki forgot Daiji and Sakura.
In the Ayaka sticks around AU, due to the discovery of the method to make Ikki remember how he felt about people, even if not his actual memories, he'll stay at the bathhouse, leading to a different final epilogue.
Long rant ahead, because GOD I still cannot get over what they did with George
I don't really think he was afraid of Chic controlling him. He knows enough about inner demons that he knows none of them could really control their host. Influence them, maybe, but not outright control.
What he does seem to resent is living in his father's shadow. Everything George did and does goes back to his dad one way or another. The Vistamp system was originally his father's brainchild. The Drivers he created are all based off the Demons Driver his father created. The Riders that George worked with (the Igarashi sibs) are only able to become Riders and have their unique relationship with their inner demons because of what his father had done to their father.
Nothing George had done was possible without his father's work, which infuriated him because he cannot reconcile that man with the man who abandoned him and gave him a demon to boot. He started distancing himself from his father, from his work (by working on a Rider system that isn't dependent on an inner demon- the Juuga system).
And when Masumi died, he projected his resentment onto the things and people that reminded him of his father. Note how he was pretty content to just disable Hana and Go and destroy their Drivers, while with the sibs he was out for blood.
What I hated is that his actions lead to a point where Ikki had to choose between what little he had left of his family memories and stopping George from hurting anyone else- and that despite George being made aware of such a situation, it didn't even make him pause for thought. Ikki was his friend, and he didn't give a damn until it was much too late.
It was a repeating pattern in George's behavior. It didn't matter that Kagerou nearly killed the Igarashi fam as Evil, because he eventually got the result he wanted when Daiji became Live. It didn't matter that Hiromi's life was cut short, because his using the Demons Driver gave George valuable information.
And no, I don't think that he was kept around to keep him sane or whatever. They genuinely forgave him for what he had done. Probably at Ikki's behest.

got some negative news for kamen rider revice
please don’t click on “read more”/“keep reading” since your experience might get ruined from hearing this
i don’t know what to else to say, but this is mainly for those who find controversies regarding people important and crucial to know
-
i’d rather people enjoy kamen rider revice without having to worry about shit like this, so again, turn the fuck back if you just want to enjoy revice without worry or having some sort of obligation or some shit.
but remember that kamen rider stands for love, peace, and justice, and that no one can take the spirit of kamen rider away, or destroy it.
-
-
-
-
-
so apparently subaru kimura, the voice actor for vice in kamen rider revice is racist
and he made fun of african lip plates and did blackface
apparently the original posts have been deleted, and the only remnants are on a twitter post calling the va out in 2020
i’ll leave the search up to you in case you don’t believe it, but yeah.
now, what does this mean?
i think the general stance is that you should just separate artist from artwork, and you shouldn’t really feel bad for watching it
please do not suddenly make a rant about how japan is as a whole bad or something, or how the actor is from germany and how he’s a nazi because he’s german and the germans invented dictatorships (yes, someone said that), and anything incredibly stupid of that like.
this shouldn’t affect your watching experience, but well, i’d figure people might want to know, or should know
since in recent times, topics like these have become incredibly important to many people emotionally
so if this bothers you a lot, please take a breather and think, maybe ask a couple of questions, work out your feelings, and walk away without holding any unresolved and negative feelings to cluster up in your heart

saber/revice rant; feel free to ignore
i kind of mentioned this in an ask a couple of days ago, but feel like talking about it again?
i wasn’t really on toku tumblr/twit during most of sabers air, just the last 3-ish months, and even then, didn’t really pay attention to all the stuff people were saying b/c i didn’t really know anything about it. so much of what im going to say is based off what people have said after it airs.
from what i gather, saber wasn’t always disliked as much as it is now. not sure if it was considered good, but people weren’t complaining about it every time they bring it up. around the start of the second arc is when people kind of started disliking it.
now, revice (im 90% sure) hasn’t even reached it second arc yet and people are already claiming it’s an all time great (or at least the best reiwa series so far). that itself isn’t really the problem (idc if you love it, hate it, whatever), but more the constant comparison between the three reiwa seasons to show how revice is better. while the comparisons are for the most part sound, not like forcing a narrative, i still find them unfair in a way.
revice still has time to fuck up. now im not saying they are going to, or that i wish they would so people dislike it. revice is decent, and people like it. but people liked saber before the second arc, so there’s a possibility revice falls into the same thing.
kind of tying into that is comparing 12/13 episodes worth of content, to a full season. now this can go both ways in that “it’s only been 12 episodes, it can improve overtime” or “it’s been only been 12 episodes, don’t be too quick to judge it’s overall quality.” i feel this falls more into the former, in that comparing 1/4 of a show to a full completed show is like comparing apples to oranges. they’re two completely different things.
many of the comparisons don’t take into account the specific conditions both zero-one and saber were made in, especially the effects of covid-19 (particularly with saber, but im pretty sure zero-one’s final arc was kind of messed up). while revice was also made in covid (i mean, were still in it) it was able to prepare for it (according to the wiki, the original plan was for more of a road-trip style show, but was changed as covid was still affecting their process). im not exactly sure what exactly the timeline for pre-production of a kamen rider series, but i’d assume a lot of it’s concepts were already thought of before covid shut everything down. iirc on a post listing some of saber’s original ideas, it was mentioned the writers had to change quite a bit due to covid. you can even see it in the show, a lot of the latter half especially takes place in pretty secluded areas where it’s really only the cast and little to no extras.
i don’t bring all this up to say you can’t dislike saber, like revice, etc. but i just feel like many people are overly negative about saber and use revice to fuel their dislike further. it feels a bit antagonistic to just constantly bring up saber every time revice does something good. it also feels like trying to validate how good revice is, as if the show can’t stand on it’s own merits.
im sorry for constantly bringing this up, but it just makes me sad.

Justice League Very VERY flawed, with numerous problems, but it has enough entertainment value to make it worth a watch. 6.75/10 ***SPOILER TALK*** The Good: - The cast works very well together, and for the most part are all likeable. - Despite the little screentime spent to establish them, Aquaman, Flash, and Cyborg mesh naturally into this world. The decision to make Aquaman this hard-drinking dudebro type helps make him stand out from the others. Flash being made much younger here gives him an interesting contrast to the more experienced warriors of the team. Cyborg wrestles with his own existence and his ties to alien technology. I would watch movies about any of these characters! - Wonder Woman is still great here, and they try to explain why she was out of action for so long after WW1. Steve Trevor is her Bucky (what pushes her buttons... Bruce gets called an asshole for using Steve to chastise Diana) - Superman finally gets some good moments to be... Superman here, though they are few. Most of his scenes are memorable and fun, escpecially with the Flash. His whole engagement with the League after his resurrection was great. - The added levity here helps to break up the dreary look of the film. Though some of the quippiness was off-putting, for the most part it works. - This was a marked improvement upon Batman v Superman. But oddly, it could have used a longer runtime to fill in the numerous gaps in the story and help the movie flow more. The Bad: - The plot in general is garbage. Just... awful. There is only a bare minimum of a story here to get the League together. - Steppenwolf... sucks. He is Malekith from Thor 2 bad. He looks awful. His design and dialogue generic as hell. His motivation is mere cartoon villainy. It is at least somewhat satisfying to see the entire League beat the shit out of him. Superman and Wonder Woman pummel him good at the end. But he leaves no impression at all. Why did he have to be fully CGI??? What is with the DCEU and big, grey, CGI monster men as the final boss battle (Doomsday, Ares, whatever the fuck that thing in Suicide Squad was)??? - The beginning of the movie is incoherent, disjointed, and hard to follow. Much of the movie consists of just... scenes of stuff happening without a solid throughline or flow. The opening of the movie is a scene with Batman that immediatley devolves into Synder's incoherent numbing action. Wonder Woman gets a nice action scene fighting terrorists, but it is completely detached from the rest of the movie and serves no purpose. - They just sorta show Atlantis without much setup, expecting us to just know what is happening and who Mera is... She is just... there. No establishing scene or shot. Feels like a lot is missing. - Themyscira is shown again. Still bad green screening like in Wonder Woman. Now with more metal bikini armor... there is a scene of Steppenwolf attacking the Amazons for the Mother Box they have that goes on too long. - The Mother Boxes... more power cubes/boxes acting as McGuffins??? Nothing about them was explained very well. They were just... powerful evil things Steppenwolf wants. Cyborg can interact with them. They terraform worlds into Apokalips... yawn. Didn't Zod already do the terraforming villain plot? Only... better??? - The way the League resurrects Superman was... baffling. Batman just guesses the Mother box can bring him back? He and Wonder Woman start ranting about "ethics"??? Predictably, this revival invalidates his death in BvS. Also, they show everyone mourning Superman at the start. Nothing in the movies show that he inspired any hope at all. BvS showed everyone fearing him or distrusting him. They are relying solely on the audience's familiarity with his character's real world legacy to elicit sympathy. -To revice Supes, they have to do this elaborate procedure of dropping the box into the kryptonian fluid pool with Flash zapping it as it touches the fluid, but don't explain why they have to do it like that... why do they need to drop it?! They just leave their mother box unattended after Superman revives just so Steppenwolf can just steal it immediately??? Where did Cyborg even hide the third box where he could just pop up suddenly with it in his hands in the first place? If they are so important, why did the Atlanteans and Themysira just leave their boxes out in the freakin open in big rooms instead of... deeeeep underground in a damn vault in a bigger box surrounded by death traps and fire and lava and shit??? - Steppenwolf sets up base in Russia or some old soviet country. And the movie keeps showing this random russian family for some reason throughout (reminded me of Sokovia in Age of Ultron, but here it was done very sloppily). Also, this giant apokalips dome thing is built there and no one in any other country notices??? - Danny Elfman's score is forgettable save for two instances... when he calls back to his old 89 batman theme, and when he plays a few notes from the John Williams Superman theme... these callbacks are pointless, and serve only to remind you of better movies from a bygone era. - Good god... Superman's CGI mouth. It is in the FIRST SCENE of the movie. It looks terrible. It looks expensive. It looks unnatural. A fake mustache for Henry Cavill woulda saved them time and money. - The flashback scene explaining the three mother boxes felt like the Lord of the Rings prologue. A green lantern was shown... cuz fan service. - The entire action finale was more numbing Snyder bullshit full of bright explosions, gunfire, and single color theme (red in this case). There is no style or wit here. Just CGI overload. It gets better once the team confront Steppenwolf directly. - The movie looks kinda... ugly in general. - Lois again has little to do, but i guess its ok since this is a League movie and she's a glorified cameo. - Batman was pretty useless here. He gets his ass handed to him quite often. Suppose that is the point since his power is "I'm rich". Plus he's old now and doesnt move quite as fast. I still like Affleck as Batman. - ok, i gotta stop. Sounds like I'm being harsh on the movie but that is only because the Justice League deserves AMAZING rather then just "passable". This reeks of too many hands in the pot, and the result is a mess... but at least it is a fun mess. I would watch it again, unlike BvS or Suicide Squad, which i can barely sit through 10 minutes of anymore...
