can i ask what made you start shipping heatherra? ive never heard of it until i saw your account on the tag
Anon oh anon
It still is kinda rare, because people aren't strong enough to see the vision of Sierra where she can exist outside of Cody, and honestly I don't blame them bc it took a while for me to get here. The way they write Sierra in canon is just so bad, so Cody focused, that imagining her without the Cody thing almost makes her a completely different person. But Heatherra has grown over the years, and from I've been told, it had 25 submissions for the yuri bracket (me + 24 other people!) SO I'm just so glad I was able to spread the ship bc I just love it so much. Even if Terry can't see how it would work. Sorry Terry that you don't see the vision
Back in 2020, I saw the trailer for Total Drama Reunion, which that sparked me to get back into total drama. I did my rewatch, and read a fanfic that was posted back in 2016 about the aftermath of the world tour finale and it had Heather/Sierra in it (more one-sided on Heather's side.) I was intrigued by it, because I've never heard of it before. Sierra's entire character is Cody. So having Sierra exist outside of Cody was just, different from the other takes I've seen of her. So I made my blog, original url was heatherras bc someone had the heatherra url, and started making small content for them. Shitty edits, a one shot that I'm not exactly proud of. The version of heatherra that I had in my head is so completely different from the version of them when I first started shipping them. It was a rare pair that only like, 3 people liked. But the version of heatherra that I had back then was do different. They were unlikely friends who reconnected after All Stars. That was about it

Hellsite Nostalgia Tour 2023 Day 290
The Bad Place/World Enough and Time
“The Bad Place”
Plot Description: Sam and Dean get a lead on Jack, who seeks help from a reluctant dreamwalker. After a disturbing vision, Patience makes a big decision
Would I Survive the First Five Minutes??: if Lucifer’s son used his powers on me, no, but I don’t really have any reason to need any skills I have
Oh, Patience. I’m so sorry about all the pressure you’re under to be perfect
The boys arguing over what to do about Jack is getting a little old
THIS poor girl. I was about to say Kaia and Jack’s meeting feels like it should be out of a bad CW show (meaning riverdale) and then I remembered……
It’s really stupid that they call it Apocalypse World
This is so bad for Dean. You’d think finding out your mom is alive would be a good thing, but this IS DEAN
Hearing Dean affirm Jack saying that the boys and Cas are his family is so sweet
Ok it is the angels who have Kaia. They dress like angels but they were acting more like demons
Damn, James!! I thought you would be better than this. If your daughter chooses to help people using her gift, she shouldn’t come back home?!
Dean. What the fuck. You can’t be threatening this teenage girl with a gun because she doesn’t feel like helping two strange men in their 30s. Sam, wrangle your damn brother
Surely warding on the fly is totally gonna work perfectly
ARE YALL CRAZY??? You’re going to try to go to apocalypse——why does that look far more like purgatory?
He took her from purgatory to apocalypse world
Oh if only they knew she and Jack smote the angels downstairs too
Ok Jack made it to apocalypse world, but the boys…….I have no idea where they are. Thought it was purgatory for a minute but it is not
“World Enough and Time”
Plot Description: a huge spaceship harbors one of the Doctor’s most feared enemies: Mondasian Cybermen
Oh we are getting SO close to regeneration. And while I am excited to finally meet Thirteen, I’ll miss Twelve (a character I can rewatch any time I want) a lot
Missy dressed almost exactly like Mary Poppins is ❤️
I have a feeling this is a simulation they’re running Missy through rn. There’s no way those three would let her do a mission outside the. TARDIS with only Bill and Nardole………right??
Missy insisting to Bill that the Doctor’s real name is Doctor Who 💀 and then the Doctor saying he likes it
No no no no no, HOW ARE YOU GONNA FIX THE FACT THAT YOU JUST SHOT A LARGE HOLE CLEAR THROUGH BILL’S CHEST?? Hmmm???
Loving this conversation between Bill and the Doctor (we went back some amount of days) about gender and sexuality…and the Doctor saying that Gallifrey is the most civilized planet and Bill comes back with “but you still call yourselves time lords”
SHE TRIED TO MAKE HIM PROMISE HE WOULD NOT GET HER KILLED 😭😭😭
Well the guy who repaired Bill certainly LOOKS human it at least more human than the beings who took her there
Sure…you’re CURING those people. Of what? Humanity??
Sure…time’s moving faster at the bottom of the ship than the top? Because of the black hole
She’s now been waiting there for YEARS???
(I thought I was promised John Simm…)
This guy telling Bill she is the person most dear to him, like a mother or aunt, and she’s just kinda weirded out
Nooooo, they’re gonna try to upgrade Bill to cyberman status
Ohhhhhhh the guy who befriended and betrayed Bill was John Simm!Master in disguise. No wonder he said the Doctor wouldn’t forgive Missy for what she did to Bill
Wait…so the Master created the cybermen????

My Episode By Episode Review of LOVE DEATH + ROBOTS (SPOILERS, OBV)
SONNIE'S EDGE : What's better than Mecha? Flesh-Mecha. Loved the protagonist and the twist was delivered pretty well, although the ending was more abrupt than I would've liked. I'd watch more of this though. 8/10
BEYOND THE AQUILA RIFT : It's like Dead Space had a baby with Aliens. I liked everything about the ships, the interpersonal relations were a bit meh though. The punchline was a little too much for me as a 15 minute short, probably would've worked better as a prequel to a video game.
THREE ROBOTS : This is comedy gold. I could watch these guys tour the wreckage of our failed world for an entire season, maybe two. If you thought Wall-E would've been better as a PG-13 movie or ever wondered what R2-D2 would sound like in Basic, this is your short. 9/10
SUITS : Old Mac Donald had a farm, *plasma rifle sounds* Art style was great, character dynamics was very good for something so short, appreciated the implied interracial couple and the ending only made me love the entire thing more. I need a mini series of this please.
THE WITNESS: Timeloops and Nudity, I mean if you're Rian Johnson or Joss Whedon, you probably love this entire premise, bonus points for the Asian woman lead. Also worthy of note that it's designed very similarly to Into the Spiderverse. Unfortunately for me, looking like an Oscar winner isn't enough. it wasn't what I wanted, and while I loved the moments of sex positivity, there wasn't a story, just a pseudo trippy chase sequence with no substance. 5/10, skip if you can.
GOOD HUNTING : I loved everything about this story and could easily watch an entire series built from it. The interactions made sense, there were very real stakes and also growth. The payoff didn't take me out of my immersion, and despite the racial and sexual violence triggers present, I think it's one of the stronger entries in this anthology. 9/10
THE DUMP : Grumpy Old Men at a landfill. You've seen this before, you didn't need to see it in CGI. Save yourself the trouble. It's not bad, it's just not good. Honestly doesn't belong next to some of these other shorts on a good day. 6/10, probably skip.
SHAPE-SHIFTERS : This one's a personal favourite, as ive roleplayed plenty of scenarios like this one on message boards back in the day. Upfront, if you hate soldier narratives, this isn't your episode and you should skip it. It's set in the Middle East during what very much appears to be the so- called War on Terror. I liked the camaraderie between the "dog- soldiers" and felt like what I was shown of their relationship to the humans around them matched what ive heard about prejudices in the military. I'd give it an 8, mostly because there wasn't enough world building to justify some of the emotions shown in a short window.
FISH NIGHT: Visually stunning, kinda bored me to be honest though. Didn't much care for either character and didn't really feel a need to rewatch it. That's not to say it's a throw away. If you want to watch a painting and a dream sequence put together, this is your moment. As for me, not enough umph. 6/10
WHEN THE YOGURT TOOK OVER: Straight up 7.5 out of 10 and MOSTLY because it's so short. I was laughing my ass off watching this, it's quirky, it's satirical, it's great. Fuck it. 8.5 out of 10 and fight me on it. I'd watch 10 more episodes about the future that sentient Yogurt built.
ZIMA BLUE : Breathtaking. Lovingly put together and so well presented. It's trippy in a good way and I teared up throughout. It's really an art piece for artists and not in a condescending way. It really speaks to the search that creators go through both within themselves and around them for meaning. 10/10, don't need a sequel but would love more content like it.
SUCKER OF SOULS : I mean it's a fun take on Dracula but then again, Castlevania was already a masterpiece, idk if I needed the 2000s animated version of Team Fortress goes to Transylvania. 7/10 but only because I laughed alot. It's skippable.
LUCKY 13 : Give Samira Wiley ALL the awards. Cast her in every sci fi project you can find because she NAILS everything about this short. I love pilot stories and she really captures the love a pilot has for their ship as well as their unit. 10/10, give me more damnit.
THE SECRET WAR : It's a great war meets the supernatural story. Too short honestly but I enjoyed it fully. It's been done before but I'd still recommend it because it's got alot of heart in it. I'd only allow a skip if you just aren't into WW2/ Cold War era stories about Russian soldiers. 7/10
ALTERNATE HISTORIES : Started off fun, went left and stayed left. I'm kinda over the Hitler jokes by now. 6/10.
BLINDSPOT : It's Borderlands meets Fast and Furious but with ROBOTS. I'd play the hell out of a video game about this crew, would watch a season's worth about them, honestly my only gripe with it is that it didn't blow me away like i was led to believe. It's fun, it's not revolutionary, but please give me more. 8/10
ICE AGE : If you've ever wanted to watch a world grow at your fingertips, if you're a fan of Civ and The Sims but don't know what to do when the game finally ends, this is your story. It's the only live action entry but it's worth the watch. Kinda missed watching Topher Grace in things. 9/10
HELPING HAND : It's gravity but with more blood and a fiery red head. Nothing new to see here folks, totally skip if you aren't down to watch someone lose an arm to the vacuum of space. 6/10

Love, Death & Robots.
Can I just say, how happy it makes me, that the anthology series is back?
I mean, Love, Death & Robots isn‘t the first by a long shot … but still, I am glad that this art form is back. It lends itself so very beautifully to the telling of small stories.
I lnow I am late on the band wagon, but this is my hot take on Love, Death & Robots. Just fresh of bingeing it. No reflection just feeling … or in other words, the result of rubbing my last two sleep deprived braincells together.
It‘s just my opinion, nothing more.
On the technical side of things …
This show is fucking gorgeous. The style usually goes with the general tone of the story, all of them competently and craft fully realized. The same goes for the voice work, the sound design and the soundtrack.
On a side note, diversity is so so, could be better but could be worse … I‘d say average …
It‘s definitely NC-17. Blood, gore, violence, sex and lovingly rendered co**s. We have it all. If you are sensible … you might want to skip some of the stories …
Beware … here there be spoilers
"Sonnie's Edge"
A woman named Sonnie remotely controls a genetically-engineered monster in underground gladiatorial battles. A rich man offers her a lot of money to lose, but she refuses. After she wins the combat, he comes back to make her pay, only to discover he got things very wrong.
I really liked the concept of the story, though not so much the execution. I am just not a huge fan of the „live begins at rape“-trope and I thought that backstory element was rather clumsily handled. I also feel like we could have reached the same twist wit a different backstory …
It‘s a really great twist.
I mean, I am not to clever, maybe you‘ll see it coming a mile away … but I still think it‘s a good twist …
Carefull, gore and boobs …
"Three Robots"
After the destruction of humanity, three robots take a vacation tour around seemingly abandoned city, trying to understand how humans lived based on their limited knowledge of them and the things they left behind. The surprise comes when they met a cat.
It‘s exactly what it says on the tin. It is sweet, adorable, funny … surprisingly meta in it‘s message, without getting too heavy handed, it has kittens … I love it.
If you have problems with skulls, skip it, there a loads of it here …
"The Witness"
A woman witnesses a murder in a building in front of the hotel where she is staying. She flees from him through a surreal city.
What it say on the tin. The twist isn‘t really a surprise if you pay attention, but it‘s a case of blink and you miss it.
I like the concept a lot and the execution was alright …
Nudity … lots of it … also blood … so, if that is a no, for you … skip it. Otherwise, I really like the twist … I say that a lot …
"Suits"
A small community of farmers pilot mech suits to defend their land from an invading swarm of insectoid aliens.
Again, what it says on the tin … a little heavy handed with the characterization, but they have only minutes to establish them, so that‘s O.K. for me. The characters are all very sweet and caring … not so much a twist ending as a WTF moment.
The violence is relatively tame … maybe PG 13, if you can stomach alien blood and a major character death …
"Sucker of Souls"
Awakened by an archaeological excavation, a bloodthirsty demon fights a crew of mercenaries.
What‘s on the tin.
I really liked this one. I like the  archaeologist, I like the mercenaries, … The ending is a bit … not disappointing … but you feel a bit cheated.
I also feel like this could work very well as Terror AU, with Goodsir being the archaeologist and the mercenaries being Crozier, fem-Blanky and … maybe Fitzjames …
The actual gore … rather graphic, though the style isn‘t hyper realistic … if you‘re sensible, definitely skip this one …
"When The Yogurt Took Over"
Yogurt developed by scientists becomes sentient and takes over the world.
What can I ay? It‘s what‘s on the tin.
Rather tame, except for a few moments of very dark humor … the style is very cartoony, so … not for the faint of heart maybe, but it should be fine for most people.
"Beyond the Aquila Rift"
Blue Goose's crew—Thom, Suzy, and Ray—are on a mission to reach beyond the Aquila Rift, but an error in the routing plot causes unexpected events to happen.
Sort of, what it says on the tin … but not …
I really liked it, … not particularly gory per see except for a quick scene … but if you hate spiders, definitely stay away … also boobs …
This one would also make for a great Terror AU, with Crozier as the Captain and Sophia as his long lost acquaintance …
"Good Hunting"
In early 20th century China, a boy becomes friends with a shape-shifting huli jing after his father kills the huli jing's mother. Years later, living in a steampunk Hong-Kong, they find each other again.
I really like the idea behind this … the thought  that magic can not exists in a world full of iron and steam. I loved that concept back in Lords and Lady's and I still love it.
I just could have done without the sex trafficking …
I‘d prefer d if she‘d just gotten a new body on her own terms, … Because I really like the concept that she has to change herself completely in order to control this new magic …
Definitely not for the faint of heart … what‘s on the screen is upsetting enough … the implications even more so …
Also, lots of nudity …
"The Dump"
A city inspector tries to convince Ugly Dave to move out of his house which is located in a dump. However, Dave and his pet are not intent on doing so.
This one was wearing tapp shoes … but I still like it … its cute … and dark … sensible people … maybe skip it …
Nudity … death and gore … also a puppy …
"Shape-Shifters"
Two close friends in the Marines with supernatural powers have to fight one of their own in Afghanistan.
Whats on the tin. Short, sweet, heartbreaking … gore … major character death … Nudity
"Helping Hand"
An astronaut faces a life or death situation after an accident while spacewalking in orbit. Now she has to decide, arm or live …
This was a hard one for me to watch … not so much for the gore … there is none … but just seeing her being so brave and inventive and … so so fucked … it was a hell of a ride, for me it was worth it …
God damn she is awesome!
"Fish Night"
Two salesmen get stuck in the desert, and discover that the desert is not what it seems at night.
I love it!
I loved the concept wen Pratchett came up with it for wee free men … where he mentioned it in a throw away line … and I was angry at myself for days, that I never came up with it myself …
Spooky, pretty … bloody … there was a shark … Nudity
I was sad, but I‘ll definitely give it a rewatch …
This doesn't so much work as an entire Terror AU, but I feel like, the concept does lend itself easily to being used with Silna …
"Lucky 13"
A pilot recalls her missions aboard the dropship Lucky 13, which had already lost two crews before.
Boy did I cry at this one … bit gory … and onions, so many onions … who the fuck needs so many onions at this time of night?
But yeah, I have a thing for ships … sue me …
"Zima Blue"
A reclusive artist gives a final interview after 100 years.
I love this … the style is very stylized and lends itself beautiful to the story … ah … I think this is even something for the faint of heart … also, in my case onions …
"Blindspot"
A cyborg crew attempts to rob a convoy.
What‘s on the tin, pretty straight forward … nothing special … but I feel that is less the stories fault and more the fact that it is simply outclassed among all the others …
Violent, but cartoony … so … no idea … proceed with caution?
"Ice Age"
A couple who just moved into the apartment finds a civilization inside an antique refrigerator.
What‘s on the tin.
Really sweet, really cute … cute couple … I feel like, some of the lines could have used one more rewrite, but that is me nitpicking. I really liked it, it was awesome, definitely gonna rewatch it … I feel like this is even for the faint of heart …
It is also very refreshing to see a married couple just hanging out together … love it
"Alternate Histories"
Multiversity, an alternative history research simulation app, shows the viewer the death of Adolf Hitler in 6 different timelines on their welcome demo.
I feel like Douglas Adams came back from the dead to write this … I get defined Hitchhiker vibes.
Ah … dark, but super cartoony, so the violence is rather tame … still, not G rated, despite the style … Nudity
I liked it a lot …
"Secret War"
A platoon of Red Army soldiers hunt down the undead in the forests of Siberia.
What it say on the tin.
The style is super realistic, so nothing for the faint of heart. Blood, gore … more blood, more gore …
I liked it …
And, is it just me, or is the Lieutenant the spitting image of John Morfin?
This would make an amazing Terror AU, you pretty much only have to change the names … even the Lieutenants second gives me Collins vibes …
I hope I got all the Nudity, but there is a lot of it … not even always in a sexy way, just in a “humans sometimes are naked” way …
And that was  Love, Death & Robots.
Was it good?
Hell yes!
Do I want more?
Definitely …  though I don‘t have to high hopes for a potential second season … once burned twice shy … But I‘d be delighted if we get one as good or even better.

Marvel asks: All of them! Sorry, can't choose! ^^'
AAAAARRRGGHHHH!!!  Well that’ll larn me!
Marvel asks
Tony Stark: favorite movie?
Close call; I’m very fond of “Avengers Assemble”, “Thor” and “CA:TWS”, but the one that has wowed me the most of all was “Black Panther”, which took everything to a new level of brilliance.
Drax: what character would you wanna be friends with?
I’m going to make this “characterS” and say Jane Foster, Aunt May, and General Okoye.  A lot of my other faves probably wouldn’t be so easy to be friends with (too prickly, messed-up, hyper-focussed, downright dangerous, etc) but I would love to be mates with these three!
Valkyrie: favorite director?
Ryan Coogler, no question!
Pepper Potts: top 3 fave characters
Ugh, very hard to choose!  Most of our protagonists are pretty cool, in their different ways.  Let’s pick three of the women; Okoye, Gamora, Natasha.  But I could just as easily have said Nakia, Hope and Hawkeye.  Or Rocket, Groot and Shuri.  Or...
Yeah, very hard to choose.
Sam Wilson: funniest scene?
Unlike a lot of people I loathed the relentless humour in “Ragnarok”.  So I’m going to say, Sam and Cap’s first meeting in TWS, which is gentle and kind, and character-driven.
And (although it’s rather sick humour) “He’s adopted” is very funny.
Bucky Barnes: most heartbreaking moment?
The bit in TWS when the pilots try to take off and provide air support and are shot down before they can get to their planes.  Reduces me to tears every time.
Nakia: character you wish had a bigger role?
I want to see more of Shuri!
Rocket Racoon: best nickname?
I don’t think I know the scripts well enough!  “Legolas”, possibly?
Natasha Romanoff: favorite ass kicking scene?
Another one that’s very hard to choose.
Natasha’s first scene, maybe, when she’s barefoot and unarmed and still beats the shit out of half a dozen brawny guys.  It’s such a great use of an action scene to establish character.  I also love her fight with possessed!Hawkeye.
But on the other hand, the Dora Milje’s team fighting style is unbelievably awesome...
Ned Leeds: favorite villain?
Killmonger, no contest.  He’s rounded, believable, well-motivated, and even though you know he’s wrong you empathise with him.  Masterclass in how to write a top-notch antagonist.
I also really liked Toomes/Vulture in “Spiderman Homecoming”.  Again, because he had good motivation and was an interesting rounded character, not a cardboard “I wanna rule/destroy the world >snarl snarl
Bruce Banner: guardians or avengers?
For sheer fun, Guardians.  But I’m enjoying seeing them all meet up!
Thor Odinson: most attractive character?
Still Hawkeye.  Give me those Renner arms.
Gamora: favorite pairing?
As in Ship?  T’Challa/Nakia, and Gamora/Peter Q.
As in Best mates?  Rocket & Groot, Peggy & Jarvis, and Peter P & Ned.
Mantis: what do you think will happen in Avengers 4?
I’m with @hanorganaas on this; it’ll have to involve time travel in some form, to bring back at least some of those lost.  Also I have it on good authority from @spectralarchers that Hawkeye will come back as Ronin.  And clearly a certain Carol Danvers is going to be involved.
There’ll be an opening section where the traumatised survivors are trying to regroup in a shattered world.  Somehow or other the script will have to contrive another “lowest ebb” moment even lower than the end of “Infinity War” (& I don’t envy the people tasked with that!) because that’s how script dynamics work.  But ultimately the big purple knob-head will be defeated.
Shuri: most rewatched movie?
Either “Avengers assemble” or “Guardians of the Galaxy”; I haven’t kept count, but they are the ones I go back to for a happy evening slobbed out in front of the telly with a big bag of tortilla chips.
Peter Parker: best outfit/suit?
As a Superhero Suit, I love the Ant-man suit!
As actual wearable clothes, I’d like to have Gamora’s leathers, especially the red coat; practical and sexy.
Happy Hogan: what ‘superpower’ is the coolest?
Well, I’ve always wanted to be able to fly, so any of the superpowers that give you that would be great!
I also love the way Mantis’ abilities take something that culturally is just expected of “nice good girls” (being empathetic, reading others emotions and reactions, being able to soothe down even the most aggressive person) and make it a fucking superpower!
Aunt may: most painful death?
After those brave pilots in TWS?  Pietro.  Really didn’t see that one coming.
Pietro Maximoff: Peter Quill or Peter Parker?
Aww, don’t make me chose!  Quill is so cute!
I was never a Peter Parker fan until Tom Holland but now - ok, Peter Parker.
Heimdall: would you like a Deadpool crossover?
Properly done, then hell yeah!  But it would need a very, very good script to juggle the emotional/tonal switchbacks required.
Steve Rogers: who resembles their role the most?
From what we get to see as fans?  I’d have to go with Chris Evans.
Rhodey: who resembles their role the least?
Karen Gillan certainly doesn’t sound much like Nebula!
T’challa: favorite non-romantic pairing?
I’ve already suggested a couple of Best-mates relationships; so how about some siblings?  Gamora and Nebula; so much tension, so much anger and yet so much torn, blood-soaked loyalty.  It’s just as interesting a dynamic as the one between Thor and Loki, with a lot less screentime than that has had.
I also liked the sibling loyalty and love between Wanda and Pietro.  Always good to see a happy sibling relationship, when Screenwriting 101 would have it that only sibling rivalry is interesting...
Peter Quill: favorite place in the mcu?
That’s going to be a tie between Know-where, for the visuals, and Wakanda, for - well, everything really.
Loki laufeyson: best line/quote?
Ugh, there have been a lot of great lines.  Right now, I’m going to go with Okoye’s “For Wakanda?  Without question.”  Such a fantastic use of a single line to cement how her character is the embodiment of honour.
Scott Lang: do you think you’d have died in the snap?
Hmm.  I kind of hope I would, to be honest; life afterwards is going to be spectacularly hellish until they manage to fix it.
Stephen strange: favorite song used?
The opening of “Guardians of the Galaxy”, with Quill slogging through the rain and then putting on “Come and get your love” on his walkman and starting to dance.  Just gorgeous; as a sequence, as framing, as a way of telling us something about him very economically, as a device to show us this is going to be a hell of a fun ride...
Phil Coulson: the moment you fell in love with your favorite character?
Seeing as I find it impossibly difficult to pick a favourite in the first place, this is one I can’t answer!
Okoye: which movies did you see in cinema?
All of them bar the first two “Iron Man” films.
Maria Hill: favorite special credits?
What, as in “Mr Evans’ marmalade sandwiches made by” kind of thing?  I’m not sure I pay enough attention to the credits to have ever noticed one (I made that one up, needless to say).
Or are “special credits” like cameos?  A nod to the mourners for Yondu, then.
Erik Killmonger: favorite press moment/interview
Way back during the press tour for “Avengers assemble”; a journalist asked RDJ in-depth questions on Tony’s motivation and development, and then only asked Scarlett Johansson some ridiculous thing about her diet; and instead of answering with a patient smile she called him out on it.
It was only, what, five years ago, yet it was almost unheard-of then for a female actor to bite back publically like that.  And the good thing is, that already seems pretty extraordinary.
Wanda Maximoff: favorite relationship of the actors?
I don’t know enough about their relationships to have one, really.
Nebula: favorite minor character?
Luis.  An “ordinary person” character who is highly likeable in his own right and who does the right thing even when he knows it’s bloody dangerous & could get him killed.  For similar reasons I’m also very fond of Cameron Klein and Dr Helen Cho.
Vision: Steve with or without a beard?
Without, definitely.  Not a great fan of beards to be honest.  There’s the odd face that looks great with one (thinking of a certain Mexican actor and rare fern collector) but mostly they’re just fashionable face-fur.
Nick Fury: what actor would you like to see join the mcu and for what role?
On one level, I’m content to wait and see what they come up with.  I’m not a comic-reader, so I know almost nothing about any of the characters until they appear in the MCU, which makes dream-casting any of them pretty difficult.
On the other hand, I did read a rumour that John Boyega is in line for a future role; and as I’m a huge fan of his I would love for that to be true!
Hope Van Dyne: expectations for ‘Captain Marvel’?
As a non-comics person, I don’t know anything about the character or her story.  Hopefully we’ll get an interesting, well-rounded female lead with solid motivation and her plot-line isn’t primarily about a) a man or b) not being able to have children.  Or c) her children being dead.
Groot: I am Groot?
We are Groot.
Grandmaster: which characters would you like to see interact more?
Shuri with all the scientists!
Peggy Carter: Hulk or Banner?
Both.  Both is good.
Luis: favorite Chris?
I’m sure they’re all lovely chaps.
Michelle Jones: would you like a Black Widow movie?
I’d like to see lots of the female characters get stand-alone films.  So, yes please to a “Black Widow” movie, but also, hmm, let’s see; how about a “Shuri and Jane Foster Science the Shit Out Of This Mess” movie?  A “Peggy Carter and the early days of SHIELD” movie?  A “Nakia the Super-spy” movie?
Sif: long hair Thor or short hair Thor?
Long hair.  Markedly more appealing with long hair.
Jane Foster: favorite character development?
I love the way Steve Rogers’ story kind-of goes in cycles of effort and hope and bitter experience, and always comes back round to situations where he affirms who he essentially is.  It’s good to see a non-liner pattern of development like that, which is much closer to how real people deleop and change, instead of the standard narrative “A to B” model like Dr Strange (”was a jerk, learned to do better” - okay, he saves the world, so that’s good; but as for development, pish).
Yondu: favorite after-credit scene?
The Shawarma joint.
Also Hope seeing the Wasp suit for the first time.
Wong: favorite marvel intro?
Not sure I pay that much attention to the intros, tbh.  I’m just sitting there thinking “Give me the story, folks!”
Thank you for asking! - and thank you, if you’ve had the patience to slog through all this, for reading!

I’ll show and update with the bingo card every 3 months here.
⌘ So instead of health problems at the start of the month I now had car problems. My car had its yearly check up at the end of February. In March I had to return to fix a shake while driving. And in April I seemed to have problems with my cooling system. It was not fun.  I gave me a lot of stress and sadness. I tried very hard not to let it rule me. It got fixed and as we were driving back from my parents at Easter, another light went on. Grr.
⌘ The change of the clock at the end of March messed a bit with Merijn’s sense of bed time and he keeps coming out of bed for 30 minutes. I hope he’ll get used to it again because it being light when he goes to bed is just going to get worse.
⌘ We got some fun bits for our garden to cheer it up.
⌘ We took Merijn to a fairytale theme park more geared towards his age with a very large playground as well. He loved it. He was so tired but he loved it.
⌘ Then a few days later Merijn got the sixth disease/roseola. He broke out in bumps and red splots over night, ended up with a high fever for 24 hours and then his temperature went back to normal. The break out took a few days longer to go away, een more so with some of the warmer days we had. He was better in time for Easter
⌘ For Easter we went to my parents. Which was fine. We had some great weather. Merijn stayed the week with my parents and we went back on King’s Day.
⌘ For some reason I got a bad case of hayfever? And then I woke up the last weekend of April and I had a swollen, stiff and sometimes painful knee. Who even knows what I did…

Dancing out of April 2019 April was another weird month to be honest. The car was acting up. My body was being weird (but what is new on that account).

December 2018
Iglo Veggie love with broccoli, buckwheat and black beans. Quick and easy.
The TEDxTUM event was pretty inspiring. I loved how they organised it and some of the speakers were amazing. Seeing all the cool stuff other people are working on actually motivated me to try and achieve great things myself. I'd like to learn about something new, start a project or volunteer.
Pick Up Limes videos.
The way Cher sings the word Memphis in her cover song.
Seeing Frank for the first time in four months. Having a good time at the Uncle Acid concert, getting a beer at Flex. Even though meeting him always causes some kind of emotional turmoil it might actually help to solve a few things I've been stressing over this time, for example that whole deal with Claudia.
Spending two hours in the kitchen on a Sunday morning. Preparing a summer and a winter curry. Pre-cutting salad. Listening to Tai Chi music. Baking these divine buckwheat chocolate cookies - absolutely delicious even though I forgot to add salt. Kinda healthy, too! It's grain-free (I even used groats) and I substituted part of the sugar with honey.
Gift ideas for rock collectors and mycophiles.
A spotted woodpecker in our backyard.
Dalmatian Jasper. Such a pretty stone.
Blinded by the Light. And a trip down musical memory lane. Making a nostalgia mixtape. Singing, enjoying the sound of my voice (as long as I hit the right vocal range).
Drawing owls. For hours. Using my Polychromos coloured pencils. I'm currerntly working on two owl-related projects, designing a logo for coffee roasters and making my friends' wedding invitation. Drawing owls like lovebirds is such a satisfying thing to do. Also: making my students come up with new ideas! Some actually drew some owl logos, too!
Tetris.
Reading books I don't understand. By people who are smarter than me. A very humbling experience. There is so much more to learn, experience and achieve.
Franzi's elegant coat and her ice crystal earrings. She's pregnant but she is skinnier than before and looks great. We cuddled up on a rooftop and had Kinderpunsch.
Practising The Pogues' Fairytale of New York for for karaoke night. I never hit the NYPD choir note quite right. My neighbours must hate me.
Taking a mental health day. Starting the day with baking cookies, making vegan sushi rolls. Reading, taking a nap. Yoga in the evening. Feeling really happy and relaxed. One of those rare inspired days when everything just falls into place. I kept revisiting beautiful places and memories during Shavasana. And I LOVE my yoga teacher more and more each week. So sad she is leaving the studio.
Taming your temper - tips for anger management.
Another coincidence. I wondered when the next Bilderbuch record will be released when I was looking at Mavi Phoenix at her concert - that girl is the female version of Maurice Ernst. A few hours later I found out that Bilderbuch actually had released a new album one day ago. WHAT.
Mirror tape.
Being a fluffy little red cat's human of choice. We sat in a cat café, no animals in sight. After a while a cat walked up straight towards me, sat down on my yellow scarf and kneaded it. Later she demanded attention and purred while I scratched her jaw. Apparently this was quite a rare occurence because she is said to be really shy and hard to handle. Weirdos unite!
Making Bhindi Masala, a vegan okra curry. Spicy and intense - delicious! Oh, and sushi rolls filled with avocado, veggies and fancy tofu/tempeh. Now I have a whole container waiting for me in the fridge.
Practising yoga for 20min on a gloomy Monday morning. Lighting a candle, drinking a cup of Ayurvedic Kapha tea with honey and lemon.
Tom, who inspired me to learn more about Ayurveda. And to rewatch The Darjeeling Limited because let's face it - Wes Anderson really knows how to make one of the poorest countries in the world look gorgeous.
We become what we think about. It's impossible to be successful without having a destination.
Quotations from Siri Hustvedt's The Blazing World: 1 / 2
"Smelling you almost makes me cum."
Running around with a fake septum piercing. I kinda like the look. I'm actually considering getting a real one but so far I'm fine with the clip-ons. The good thing is that you can't see the ring's ends anyway in that kind of piercing.
Spending time with the old friends. The best ones. The ones you don't have to speak to and it's still not uncomfortable. The ones you can be super weird around and they embrace it. The ones you can tell your strangest ideas and stories.
There is a new Turkish supermarket right around the corner! Fresh cilantro whenever I want! YES!!!
Heavy snowfall. It does look kinda pretty, I admit.
Many questions, not enough answers at the ESO Supernova exhibition/planetarium. / Making another cat friend over breakfast. / Seeing my foxy ginger lady Anika again after such a long time! / Orange marzipan lebkuchen and roasted coconut almonds (they taste like Raffaello). / Finding the perfect earrings and a beautiful head band at EDITED - The Label. / Performing Fairytale of New York live on stage with Manu. Being able to curse at somebody through song is perfect, I had a lot of fun. Also, he promised me his art teacher sweater as a Christmas present.
A knitting project with rainbow wool.
Making a clay sculpture for my mum. Taking it out of the oven at 80 degrees, wrapped in a dish towel like a baby.
The honey marzipan nougat bar from dm bio.
Meeting Manu at his office. Receiving the most awesome paint palette sweater as a Christmas present! And he let me spend a full hour in virtual reality! He has such an amazing programme which lets you draw in 3D and float around in space (with VR goggles). I'm absolutely fascinated and intrigued. Gotta visit him more often.
Meeting Tobi, Maike, Lena and Christian at Märchenbasar. Being drunk after some Feuerzangenbowle with rum (Pfeffi in Manu's case) and white mulled wine. Taking the long way home.
Buying Paulaner Spezi for my class. Supermarket trips with the kids before 8am. Schrottwichteln. Watching random goat videos and intros to children's series.
Having a drink at Goldene Bar in Haus der Kunst. Such a gorgeous place. I'm trying to get into a workshop on the museum's architecture at the end of January.
Making random people want to kiss me. Having no desire whatsoever to actually kiss them.
The Harry Potter round (on special request) at the pub quiz.
Reading Stephen Hawking's short answers to some of the big questions. I have to admit, I know nothing about physics or cosmology and at times his explanations were super hard to understand (fine, I probably didn't understand most of it) but I love creating a need to use my brain in uncommon ways.
Vivid dreams. About  dangerous skyscrapers (just different floors stacked loosely on top of each other), a kidnapping in a futuristic car by very glamorous gangsters, lesbians on a scooter trying to save me, travelling through Asia and the US with Sash, a sinking ship (but all the passengers swam back to the surface after a short period of unconsciousness), ATMs, fancy drinks, meeting strangers with beautiful eyelashes at a restaurant.
Discovering the Trouvelot astronomical drawings (1882) on the darkest day of the year, winter solstice. Watching the night fade away ever so slowly in the morning from the kitchen window, squeezing fresh oranges to make juice for breakfast. Bright orange and midnight blue is a great colour combination.
ASMRctica.
An article about a dear friend of mine appeared in Süddeutsche Zeitung! So happy for him.
Spending time with very old friends right before Christmas. Tobi, Sash, Michi, Yanic, Fischi and his wife... Playing MarioKart on SNES with Peter and taking weird selfies together. I had a very nice evening.
Managing to get a look at downtown Chicago during my layover. I uber-ed into the city centre (watching the skyscrapers getting larger and larger), walked around Millenium Park and along Lake Michigan. I spent quite a bit of time at Blick, an amazing art store, before I took the train back to the airport.
Arriving in Mexico in the middle of the night on Christmas Eve. Seeing the city sparkling from above. Watching a bunch of kids beating a pinata well after midnight. Arriving in a beautiful artist's apartment in Condesa.
The Anthropology Museum in CDMX made it on the list of my favourite museums ever. I could have spent days there. I kept sketching some of the funny masks and Maya figurines. There were plenty of creepy tombs and skeletons, depictions of weird Gods, handicrafts and woodcarvings. It was just so interesting, probably because I had never seen a lot of South American / Aztec culture before and I love learning and exploring new things.
Christmas day in CDMX: sunshine, tacky glitter decorations, pointy balloons and spiky pinatas. Dancing, ancient smoke rituals performed by a Mayan community.
Mexican street food, especially the vegetarian street food tour with David. Meeting the Blue Corn Lady (her quesadillas are with cactus and beans and they're incredibly delicious). Flatbread, corn, fruit with chili and lime. Pulque and Mezcal. Finding out that the green salsa is actually worse than the red one. Tacos, Enchiladas, Tamales. If you go to Mexico just for the food you'll still have plenty to explore.
That evening with the pink sunset. Walking through the old used book store in Roma. Reading an interesting take on Lars von Trier's Melancholia. Meeting the resident cat.
Lucha Libre! Watching the luchadores, especially the small people in the second round. Laughing about the Mexican boy next to me swearing at the top of his lungs. Getting a mask as a souvenir.
Climbing the sun and moon pyramid at Teotihuacán. Getting a sunburn. Enjoying the atmosphere. It's a very impressive site.
Diving in Cozumel with Brooke-Anne (a librarian from Las Vegas who was raised by Mormons), Cynthia from Quebec and Lucie from Toulouse. Entering some coral formations underwater. Eating cantaloupe melon and chocolate cookies after the dive. Spending the evening with another Canadian, Jussi from Finland and that other dude from Puerto Rico. And some Indio beers.
What I loved most about Tulum were the ruins (right next to a gorgeous beach) and the health food restaurants (La Hoja Verde and Co.Conamor).
And this year I don't really have a good New Year's Eve story because I fell asleep at quarter past eleven in a little village west of Tulum. All alone. Could be worse though, I had an amazing year.

Inside the Mind: Marie W Watts
https://bit.ly/373HkaG
Welcome to Inside the Mind where we here at The Faerie Review interview authors and creators.
Our guest today is Marie W Watts, the author behind The Cause Lives.
Lily:  Thank you so much for agreeing to this interview, Marie I enjoyed reading The Cause Lives: Warriors for Equal Rights. Alice is a unique heroine; did anyone inspire her? Marie:  Lily, thanks so much for having me. To me, characters need to be realistic, and the best way to make this happen is to take aspects of real people. I’ve done that with Alice, taking bits and pieces of investigators I have known, including myself. Dexter, Alice’s pooch, was inspired by one of my friends who actually had a dog she cooked for and fed with a spoon. All her dogs were given the same name. She was an awesome investigator and a tireless worker. The Singapore Slings Alice drinks came from a job I had at the food stamp office in Houston, Texas, back in the 1970s. The job was so terrible that we would spend our lunch hour at the Horseshoe Saloon around the corner where you could get two Slings for the price of one. Lily:  I think it's great that you've pulled from people you've known and worked with. That job must have been really rough! What made you decide to give Alice the job she has? Marie: I worked for the Equal Employment Opportunity for ten years. I continued doing discrimination investigations in the private sector and for the federal government for nearly twenty more years. I am a strong proponent of diversity and allowing everyone to live up to his or her potential. The book gives me a platform to discuss biases and prejudices and, hopefully, help others to be more tolerant. I’ve chosen to do this through fiction, which is more fun than through a textbook format. Lily:  Fiction will definitely reach more people than a textbook, and I'm glad you're using your experience to reach out like this to the masses. In the light of current events, is there anything you hope readers take away from reading this? Marie:  Yes. I’ve frankly been so depressed that we appear, as a nation, to be backsliding in our ability to accept differences. We have work to do. Each of us has biases and prejudices; we can’t help it. However, we need to learn to recognize and control them. When we stereotype anyone—minorities, women, police officers, the disabled, immigrants—we began to see them as non-human.  That’s where the trouble starts. Lily:  I have to admit recent events have hit me fairly hard. I hope that this time we all grow and manage to make changes to the system. (And I'll leave it there because I don't want to get off on a tangent). If you could spend a day with two of the characters, who would you choose and why?
Marie:  Wow! I think Quiana and JJ. Both of them are battling stereotypes. Quiana has sociophobia and hides from people. JJ is an ex-con trying to put his life together. They’re both smart in their own way, but others assume they are not capable because of their handicaps. Lily:  I would love to spend a day with Quiana honestly. I have severe social anxiety and it would be interesting to have us in the same room. I find it easier to connect with people who share my fear. Now, we’d like to talk about you as a writer. Do you have a favorite drink and/or food when you’re writing? Marie:  I drink either Diet Cherry Dr. Pepper or unsweet tea. As far as eating, hmm. I keep microwave popcorn around. Usually, I have low-calorie bars for munching, but since COVID hit, I’ve backed off of them.  Mainly because I don’t go to the grocery store often and keep forgetting to put them on the list. Lily:  I don't think I could do unsweetened tea. I like my sugar too much! Do you have a schedule you stick to for writing? Marie: Unfortunately, no. I need to do better on that front. Lily:  Honestly, I'm not always great at sticking to a schedule for working on the blog but I'm trying. It can be hard to set up and stick to a schedule when you're not actually on the clock. Do you prefer noise or quiet when writing? Marie:    I’ve got to have it quiet. I can’t concentrate with music playing when I’m trying to create. Lily:  I'm the opposite. I'm actually sitting here with the TV on in the background, so I can focus. Let’s finish up with some fun questions and get inside your mind. How dark do you like your toast, 1 being warm but barely toasted, 2 lightly toasted, 3 golden brown, 4 dark brown, and 5 being burnt? Is there a toast level you won’t eat even if you’re really hungry? Marie:  Oh, that’s easy. I’m definitely a #1.  Unfortunately, I’ve struggled with weight all my life and will eat anything and everything if I am hungry. Lily:  I need at least a 2, but a 5 I'll eat if I'm starving and don't have the time/supplies to toast another piece. Would you rather not eat anything cooked in an oven or on a stove for the next year? Marie:  For sure, I can give up the oven and live with stove-cooked things. Just don’t try to take the microwave away from me, you’ll have a revolt on your hands. Lily:  I'm still torn on the stove vs oven. But the microwave can make up for a lot. What’s your favorite fresh fruit or veggie? What’s your least favorite? Marie:  I absolutely love fresh, homegrown tomatoes. And the least favorite…. I’ll eat anything if it is cooked well. I’ve even had cactus on several occasions. Lily:  I don't think anything can beat the taste of fresh picked tomatoes and strawberries. I can't say I've had cactus yet but I'd love to try it someday. If you could wake up anywhere tomorrow, where would you want to wake up? Marie: Oh, no! You’re going to limit me to one place? Very unfair.  There are so many places I’d love to be. I could see myself on an around-the-world tour. Today, I’d probably wish to be in Alaska or maybe Japan. Lily:  I like the idea of traveling the world by going to sleep and waking up in a new place, and I'd love to visit Alaska and Japan some day. What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done that you’re comfortable with sharing? Marie:  Several years ago, I took a cruise, and we stopped in Cancun. My husband did not want to leave the ship, so I took a pre-arranged tour.  Unfortunately, there was a mix-up, and I was the only passenger. As the driver tried to make a turn to take me snorkeling, he became agitated. Apparently, the guys standing next to a nearby limo were members of the taxi mafia. He feared the mafia would accuse him of acting as a taxi driver since I was the only passenger. Not wanting to miss snorkeling, I willingly took over, driving us past the watchful eyes of the mafia. All the while, he was hunkered down in the passenger seat. Lily:  That's crazy and I love it! Do you have a favorite TV show or movie that you could watch over and over and never get bored/sick of? One that you really don’t like? Marie:  The weird thing is, I grew up reading books. When I was in first and second grade, our TV broke, and my parents didn’t bother to get it fixed. I won’t watch a movie made from a book that I’ve read, and, once I’ve seen a movie, I don’t watch it again. I do have a few TV shows that I enjoy such NCIS, but I’m not about to watch the re-runs. Lily:  I've always loved books (can you tell?) but I usually have the TV on for noise, so I end up rewatching a lot of shows. But books are definitely my first love. Is there anything else you would like to add that I haven’t included? Marie:  Absolutely.  Warriors for Equal Rights is a trilogy, and I am pleased to announce that the second book, Only a Pawn, will be out shortly. It has been held up because of COVID, but is nearly ready for publication. I’m looking at mid-summer, at this point. Lily:  I'm looking forward to reading it and featuring it here. How can readers discover more about you and your work? Marie:  I’d love for them to visit my website. I blog “Stories about Life.” Readers can also sign up for my newsletter. Lily, thanks so much for having me.  I appreciate being able to reach new readers.

𝕝𝕠𝕧𝕖𝕤𝕚𝕔𝕜 𝕗𝕖𝕓𝕦𝕒𝕣𝕪 𝕚𝕟𝕥𝕖𝕣𝕧𝕚𝕖𝕨
✦ 𝕨𝕙𝕒𝕥’𝕤 𝕪𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕗𝕒𝕧𝕠𝕣𝕚𝕥𝕖 𝕧𝕒𝕝𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕖’𝕤 𝕕𝕒𝕪 𝕞𝕖𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕪?
i think my favorite memories are actually elementary school valentine’s parties, everyone had so much fun making valentine’s cards and we’d just hang out and eat snacks and it was great, we should go back to that.
✦ 𝕨𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕚𝕤 𝕤𝕠𝕞𝕖𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕕𝕚𝕕 𝕠𝕟𝕖 𝕧𝕒𝕝𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕖’𝕤 𝕕𝕒𝕪 𝕥𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕪𝕠𝕦’𝕝𝕝 𝕟𝕖𝕧𝕖𝕣 𝕕𝕠 𝕒𝕘𝕒𝕚𝕟?
i hate going out to eat on valentine’s day. everyone else is trying to do the exact same thing, and there’s nothing more romantic than being squished between two other couples in a restaurant that’s so loud you can’t hear your date.
✦ 𝕨𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕚𝕤 𝕪𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕚𝕕𝕖𝕒 𝕠𝕗 𝕒 𝕡𝕖𝕣𝕗𝕖𝕔𝕥 𝕧𝕒𝕝𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕖’𝕤 𝕕𝕒𝕪?
i think it’s really just going to depend on who you’re celebrating with, if you’re celebrating with a significant other then i think it should kind of be representative of who you are as a couple, but i don’t think you need to be in a relationship to have a good valentines day either. if you just wanna celebrate platonic love with your friends then you can still have a perfect valentines day doing that.
✦ 𝕨𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕚𝕤 𝕪𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕗𝕒𝕧𝕠𝕣𝕚𝕥𝕖 𝕧𝕒𝕝𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕖’𝕤 𝕥𝕣𝕒𝕕𝕚𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟?
valentine’s cards. i still buy a pack of scooby doo valentines every year to give to friends and family and stuff because i love how dumb they are, the way to my heart is through scooby doo and a good pun.
✦ 𝕨𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕚𝕤 𝕪𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕗𝕒𝕧𝕠𝕣𝕚𝕥𝕖 𝕧𝕒𝕝𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕖’𝕤 𝕔𝕒𝕟𝕕𝕪?
i’m gonna have to go with the classic candy hearts. i really can’t even think of other candy that they sell for valentines day other than maybe expensive chocolate? i did do fun dip valentines one year i guess those were pretty great.
✦ 𝕨𝕙𝕒𝕥’𝕤 𝕪𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕗𝕒𝕧𝕠𝕣𝕚𝕥𝕖 𝕣𝕠𝕞𝕒𝕟𝕔𝕖 𝕞𝕠𝕧𝕚𝕖?
i love romantic movies but there’s a few i rewatch all the time. 10 things i hate about you, baz luhrmann’s romeo + juliet, princess bride, dirty dancing and the holiday.
✦ 𝕨𝕙𝕒𝕥’𝕤 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕟𝕦𝕞𝕓𝕖𝕣 𝕠𝕟𝕖 𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕜 𝕞𝕒𝕜𝕖𝕤 𝕒 𝕣𝕖𝕝𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟𝕤𝕙𝕚𝕡 𝕝𝕒𝕤𝕥?
i think it’s really important that you’re able to grow together, because they might be the perfect person for you in one stage of your life but maybe not in another and vice versa. also the thing i’m the worst at which is communication. if you can’t communicate then the relationship is 100% not going to last.
✦ 𝕥𝕖𝕝𝕝 𝕦𝕤 𝕒𝕓𝕠𝕦𝕥 𝕪𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕨𝕠𝕣𝕤𝕥 𝕓𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕜𝕦𝕡?
my worst breakup was actually my best. i met him when i was seventeen and he was my first really serious relationship, the kind where you experience a lot of firsts. he was the first person i had ever lived with and we had moved in together when i was working at jack in the box so i really didn’t have a lot of financial independence, all my money at that point was going to rent and stuff so i think i was a little too dependent on him and he took advantage of that. it wasn’t a good relationship at all but it took me a long time to see that. he made me feel crazy and like i was nothing without him, and i had to take a step back and look at it from a perspective that wasn’t my own to see how bad it really was. i wrote a song that pulled me out of it and i kicked that fucker out of my house the next day and it was the best thing i’ve ever done for myself.
✦ 𝕨𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕘𝕖𝕤𝕥𝕦𝕣𝕖 𝕗𝕖𝕖𝕝𝕤 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕞𝕠𝕤𝕥 𝕣𝕠𝕞𝕒𝕟𝕥𝕚𝕔 𝕨𝕙𝕖𝕟 𝕕𝕠𝕟𝕖 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕪𝕠𝕦?
anything that you know really came from a genuine place. it doesn’t have to be like a big romantic gesture it could just be that they got you coffee because they were thinking of you, or they saw a meme that made them think of you, i guess i just like to be thought of. there’s nothing more romantic than occupying a permanent place in someone else’s mind i think it shows they’re really invested in you and that’s something that’s really important to me.
✦ 𝕕𝕠 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕙𝕒𝕧𝕖 𝕒𝕟𝕪 𝕣𝕠𝕞𝕒𝕟𝕥𝕚𝕔 𝕡𝕒𝕤𝕥 𝕞𝕖𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕚𝕖𝕤 𝕥𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕨𝕖𝕣𝕖 𝕤𝕠 𝕘𝕠𝕠𝕕 𝕥𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕪𝕠𝕦’𝕕 𝕣𝕖𝕝𝕚𝕧𝕖 𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕞 𝕚𝕗 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕔𝕠𝕦𝕝𝕕? 𝕨𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕒𝕣𝕖 𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕪?
it’s actually a really recent memory but i still think about it all the time. matt and i hadn’t been seeing each other for very long but he had gotten me hooked on him right before he left for tour, you know that feeling when you just start seeing someone and you just want to like, be around them all the time? but we were both supposed to be in new york at the same time and i don’t think we had even been apart that long but i missed him a lot. i got to new york before he did, so when he rolled up at like three o’clock in the morning and got into bed we were both sleepy and soft and we both fell asleep right away but it was so nice.
✦ 𝕤𝕠 𝕪𝕠𝕦’𝕣𝕖 𝕕𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕞𝕒𝕥𝕥 𝕔𝕙𝕒𝕞𝕡𝕚𝕠𝕟, 𝕙𝕠𝕨 𝕝𝕠𝕟𝕘 𝕙𝕒𝕧𝕖 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕘𝕦𝕪𝕤 𝕓𝕖𝕖𝕟 𝕥𝕠𝕘𝕖𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕣 𝕟𝕠𝕨?
we never officially decided we were together he just started calling me his girlfriend one day so i never know exactly how to answer this question, but our first date was in october so i’m gonna say four months.
✦ 𝕙𝕠𝕨 𝕕𝕚𝕕 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕞𝕖𝕖𝕥?
i slid into his dms with this really lame line about the board game “don’t break the ice” and he said we needed to play it and 9 months later we still haven’t played it.
✦ 𝕕𝕚𝕕 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕘𝕖𝕥 𝕥𝕠𝕘𝕖𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕣 𝕣𝕚𝕘𝕙𝕥 𝕒𝕨𝕒𝕪 𝕠𝕣 𝕨𝕒𝕤 𝕚𝕥 𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕖 𝕠𝕗 𝕒 𝕤𝕝𝕠𝕨 𝕓𝕦𝕣𝕟 𝕥𝕪𝕡𝕖 𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕘?
we were friends for a really long time before we started dating but i definitely flirted with him on and off for six months and he didn’t pick up on any of it.
✦ 𝕨𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕕𝕠 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕜 𝕚𝕟𝕚𝕥𝕚𝕒𝕝𝕝𝕪 𝕒𝕥𝕥𝕣𝕒𝕔𝕥𝕖𝕕 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕥𝕠 𝕙𝕚𝕞?
i really don’t remember what pushed me to start talking to him but i know what made me want to keep talking to him. i told him to buy my favorite game, skyrim, not thinking he’d do it and he did and then we would talk about it and trade memes and i’d go over to watch him play and make fun of him always losing his horse and that was kind of the foundation of our friendship.
✦ 𝕨𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕨𝕒𝕤 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕣𝕖𝕒𝕔𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟 𝕗𝕣𝕠𝕞 𝕪𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕗𝕣𝕚𝕖𝕟𝕕𝕤, 𝕗𝕒𝕞𝕚𝕝𝕪, 𝕒𝕟𝕕 𝕗𝕒𝕟𝕤 𝕨𝕙𝕖𝕟 𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕪 𝕗𝕠𝕦𝕟𝕕 𝕠𝕦𝕥 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕨𝕖𝕣𝕖 𝕥𝕠𝕘𝕖𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕣?
my family hasn’t met him yet but for christmas every year my mom gets everyone matching christmas pyjamas to wear on christmas eve and she sent him a pair and we took a picture in our matching pyjamas and she loved it so i think that’s her seal of approval.
✦ 𝕨𝕙𝕖𝕟 𝕨𝕒𝕤 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕗𝕚𝕣𝕤𝕥 𝕥𝕚𝕞𝕖 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕜𝕟𝕖𝕨 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕨𝕖𝕣𝕖 𝕚𝕟 𝕝𝕠𝕧𝕖 𝕨𝕚𝕥𝕙 𝕙𝕚𝕞?
i still don’t know when the exact moment was because i didn’t let myself actually feel it for a while, i really didn’t know why he would want to be with me when he could literally be with anyone in the world and it all kind of hit me at the same time when he told me he loved me the first time. i do remember the moment i knew i like liked him though. he sent me this selfie and he was wearing this track jacket and sweat pants and a bright red beret and he had this huge zit on his nose that he named otto and i remember there were a lot of thirst traps that day and they did nothing for me but when he sent me that picture it was like that scene in the grinch where he’s like “help me… i’m feeling”.
✦ 𝕨𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕒𝕣𝕖 𝕤𝕠𝕞𝕖 𝕠𝕗 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕞𝕠𝕤𝕥 𝕞𝕖𝕞𝕠𝕣𝕒𝕓𝕝𝕖 𝕞𝕠𝕞𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕤 𝕪𝕠𝕦’𝕧𝕖 𝕙𝕒𝕕 𝕥𝕠𝕘𝕖𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕣?
there were two days last month where we just looked at dogs all day, walking around little tokyo holding his hand all day, that time we were in vegas and i wasn’t 21 and couldn’t do anything so he let me drag him to an arcade. there are a lot more but i think i wanna keep those ones for me.
✦ 𝕨𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕨𝕒𝕤 𝕥𝕙𝕖 𝕙𝕒𝕣𝕕𝕖𝕤𝕥 𝕥𝕚𝕞𝕖 𝕪𝕠𝕦’𝕧𝕖 𝕙𝕒𝕕 𝕥𝕠 𝕘𝕠 𝕥𝕙𝕣𝕠𝕦𝕘𝕙 𝕥𝕠𝕘𝕖𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕣 𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕤 𝕗𝕒𝕣?
the first time i had an episode with him around was rough, i didn’t really communicate things very well and nothing was his fault, there were a lot of things outside our relationship that triggered it and i was terrible and somehow he still loves me after all that. the lesson learned there was that i should have trusted him enough to talk about it and i shouldn’t have been ashamed of my mental health. also the first time he told me he loved me i cried and now he’s always worried i’m gonna cry.
✦ 𝕕𝕠 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕙𝕒𝕧𝕖 𝕒𝕟𝕪 𝕓𝕚𝕘 𝕧𝕒𝕝𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕚𝕟𝕖’𝕤 𝕕𝕒𝕪 𝕡𝕝𝕒𝕟𝕤?
matt’s birthday is on valentine’s day and we’re gonna be on a boat so we’re celebrating a little early, his favorite place is tokyo so i took him to little tokyo and tried to recreate all his favorite tokyo experiences. i’m still looking into how to get a birthday cake onto a cruise ship though for the actual day so i can embarrass him with singing.
✦ 𝕨𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕨𝕖𝕒𝕜𝕟𝕖𝕤𝕤𝕖𝕤 𝕕𝕠 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕤𝕖𝕖 𝕚𝕟 𝕪𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕣𝕖𝕝𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟𝕤𝕙𝕚𝕡? 𝕨𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕤𝕥𝕣𝕖𝕟𝕘𝕥𝕙𝕤 𝕕𝕠 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕤𝕖𝕖?
i know a big weakness is my inability to communicate but i’m working on getting better at it and not being so self conscious about sharing my feelings. i think what makes us work best is that he really is just my best friend and we can just nap or lay on the floor playing video games and we’re cool. he’s also way more willing to eat my cooking than he should be and i think that’s definitely a strength.
✦ 𝕨𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕕𝕠 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕗𝕚𝕟𝕕 𝕞𝕠𝕤𝕥 𝕒𝕥𝕥𝕣𝕒𝕔𝕥𝕚𝕧𝕖 𝕒𝕓𝕠𝕦𝕥 𝕙𝕚𝕞?
literally everything. i’m always gassing him up, but obviously i think he’s really cute. he has these freckles that actually make me melt and his smile can literally turn my day around, like it could melt the cold it’s so bright and it might be my favorite thing in the world. his presence is also really calming, like he’s the kind of person who can just make you feel comfortable without even trying but he’s also really fun and weird and creative. he also has this confidence that i really admire, and you can tell he genuinely cares about people. he’s just a really good person and it’s so attractive i don’t know what to do with myself sometimes.
✦ 𝕨𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕒𝕣𝕖 𝕤𝕠𝕞𝕖 𝕘𝕠𝕒𝕝𝕤 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕙𝕒𝕧𝕖 𝕗𝕠𝕣 𝕪𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕣𝕖𝕝𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟𝕤𝕙𝕚𝕡 𝕥𝕙𝕒𝕥 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕙𝕒𝕧𝕖𝕟’𝕥 𝕒𝕔𝕔𝕠𝕞𝕡𝕝𝕚𝕤𝕙𝕖𝕕 𝕪𝕖𝕥?
i’m always telling him to stop being so mean to my favorite person, which is him, because he can be really hard on himself and i think my number one goal is to help him see how amazing he is and that he actually believes it.
✦ 𝕕𝕠 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕓𝕖𝕝𝕚𝕖𝕧𝕖 𝕚𝕟 𝕤𝕠𝕦𝕝𝕞𝕒𝕥𝕖𝕤? 𝕕𝕠 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕜 𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕪’𝕣𝕖 𝕪𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕤𝕠𝕦𝕝𝕞𝕒𝕥𝕖?
i don’t know if i believe in soulmates in the traditional way people think of them, that there’s one person out there that’s perfect for you and only you. i don’t think everyone has just one soulmate, and i don’t think soulmates really have to be romantic. this might get a little spiritual but i do think there are souls that are kind of drawn to each other and are meant to find each other and i do think my soul was meant to find his, it actually happened at a time when i didn’t know it yet, but i really needed it.
✦ 𝕒𝕣𝕖 𝕥𝕙𝕖𝕪 𝕪𝕠𝕦𝕣 𝕚𝕕𝕖𝕒𝕝 𝕡𝕖𝕣𝕤𝕠𝕟?
absolutely, he is my person and i know i need him in my life. i’ve told him before that if he ever didn’t want to be in a relationship with me anymore that i still wanna be his friend, because he’s my best friend and i don’t know what i’d do without him in my life.

We Need to Talk About 'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel' Season 2 Ending
This post contains spoilers about season two of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, now streaming on Amazon. Stream It
As the title of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season two finale suggests, the episode’s theme is about being “All Alone.” It’s a stark contrast to the hoopla of the nine previous episodes, which ranged from the meticulously orchestrated events at the Steiner resort in the Catskills (hair appointments, Simon Says, Susie’s “search party”) to the supremely entertaining road trip Susie and Midge took for a mini comedy tour. Midge and Benjamin’s courtship was also nice to look at, just like an expensive piece of art. Through the nine episodes, there was always something going on, some dramatic, over-the-top but all too familiar problem to solve, and of course, a fresh glass of tomato juice at Abe’s disposal.

In “All Alone,” it’s business as usual for the main cast, but only if you concentrate on screen time. For the most part, instead of the chipper and chaos, we have some characters experiencing solitude for the first time, while others are just breaking into or rediscovering the best version of themselves, something Rose tried to achieve in Paris earlier in the season.
For starters, it looks like Abe is getting ready for “a really good fight” involving a lawyer (and if he has his way, some really good signs) in wake of the Bell Labs/Columbia drama. Joel is sitting on a hefty check from his father but refuses to leave the factory. (Is he afraid of being alone?) Lenny Bruce, Midge’s confidante and fellow comedian, has allowed the profession to catch up to him and apparently, his marriage. Susie, meanwhile, must consider life with two clients: Midge and Sophie Lennon, who’s just asked Susie to be her manager. (For now, this secret belongs to Susie and Susie alone.)
In an uncharacteristic move (and without much thought) Midge agrees to go on the road for six months with singer Shy Baldwin as his opening act. Remember, this is the same girl who brought too many outfits to both the Catskills and her east coast tour. This spur-of-the-moment behavior is new—and gives her life.

But by the episode’s final minutes, Midge realizes that comedy—specifically, being successful in the comedy world—comes with a price. (It already has, from how it affected her children to all the work it took for her to tell her parents.) As she says to Joel in the scene that likely made your heart jump, right before that ~kiss~:
I said yes, just like that, didn’t think about it. didn’t think about anything or anyone. Just yes. And I understand, now. Everything’s different. I can’t go back to Jello molds. There won’t be three before thirty, for me. I just made a choice. I am going to be all alone for the rest of my life. That’s what I just decided in the five minute phone call. Amazing, isn’t it? I’m gonna leave really soon, barely enough time to get packed, especially the way I travel. And I don’t want to be alone, not tonight. Tonight, just for tonight, I really need to be with someone who loves me.
Midge and Joel’s hookup at the factory shouldn’t come as a surprise, considering the flashback to the night of their engagement (when Midge was a blonde and Joel had the power to stop traffic) at the beginning of the episode. These kids were in love once, and will be in love with each other until the end of time, despite what it says on the divorce papers that may never come.

As the shock of this moment slowly wears off (give it a few more days, or just rewatch season one to remind yourself of what Joel did to get to this factory situation), here are some other lingering thoughts. Don’t theorize too long, though—season three is just around the corner.
Will Midge actually go through with the tour? Technically, Midge hasn’t signed anything and we haven’t seen Susie actually connect with Shy Baldwin’s people to finalize the contract. Given her reasoning for arriving at Joel’s (“just for tonight”) and her determination to pack with limited time, all signs are pointing to her being on the road after her hookup.
Will Susie eventually tell Midge of Sophie Lennon’s offer? Signing someone as big as Sophie Lennon could possibly be the highlight of Susie’s career, but will her loyalty to Midge get in the way? Seeing as Susie keeps the news to herself through the end of the episode, I expect some sort of big confrontation scene to pop up on season three. That, or it was all a dream. (Sophie Lennon’s house does behave an awful lot like a dream, from the mystery rooms to the free coats.)
What’s going to happen to Benjamin? If the charms of Zachary Levi didn’t sweep you off your feet/make you want to buy oversized suits for your significant other, you may skip this point. But for fans of Midge and Benjamin, it would be awful for the show to build him up in season two only to have Midge go back to Joel or worse, be single while she’s on tour and becoming famous. The look of Midge’s face in reaction to Abe finally saying yes to Benjamin’s proposal in the season finale should be enough for anyone betting against a wedding in season three. Then again, who doesn’t love a good TV love triangle?

Who will Abe sue? Until the writing of this piece, I was convinced that Abe was amped up to sue Bell Labs and Columbia University. But if the episode’s theme of being alone also applies to Abe, should viewers be worried about an Abe and Rose divorce? Mrs. Maisel writers: If you’re reading this and are considering this direction, please just have them go back to Paris so they can reunite with Simone the dog and waltz by the Siene!
When will the Lenny Bruce and Midge Maisel ship set sail? Some fans have been shipping Lenny and Midge ever since they met on season one (#TBT to him bailing her out of jail). On season two, they share some nice scenes, including one on the night of Benjamin and Midge’s date. The real Lenny Bruce died of a drug overdose in the mid-1960s, which doesn’t give this dream storyline a lot of time, so @writers, again, if you’re reading this, give the people what they want, even if it’s a couple of nice dates or more bailouts!
