Kid who turns out to be Sidney- Hello ma'am, Who are you? Haven't seen you around here.

Spectra-Name's Dr. Penelope Spectra but you can just call me Spectra, at your service. I'm a new inmate. Nice to meet you.

Sidney-I'm Sidney Pointdexter. Your name sounds familiar.

Spectra- You may know me from my work as a psychologist. Ive been a guidance counsellor now and then, even for Casper High. So listen, you know where Walker is? I need to tell the good Warden something really important.

Sidney-What?

Spectra-I know who Danny Phantom is.

Sidney-...oh?

Spectra-Its actually one of my former student clients at Amity High, Danny Fen-

Sidney-Oh now I remember where I heard your name. Walker actually warned everyone about your arrival.

Spectra taken a back-Really?

Sidney-You've caused quite the stir in the Zone with your many cons. And apparently you even tried draining the students energy at my old school. Hence why you're here. I actually handed myself to the authorities for causing some trouble there as well. It seems you even met my good friend Danny too.

Spectra-You already know!? Does that mean Walker kn-

Sidney-No, no no. Yeah I've haven't told anyone here that and I'd actually prefer if you didn't tell him or anyone else please. Danny's tussled with a lot these guys including Walker, what a small world. With that all said it'd be best they don't know his other identity. Otherwise we'll all have some problems ok?

Spectra-Are you trying to threaten me?

Sidney-Do you think I'm just asking?

Spectra-Watch it kid. Didn't Walker warn you what else I can be?-begins to turn into her spider form to scare Sidney

Sidney-Chuckles. Neato form. It bares resemblance of a Lactrodectus Mactans, Aka The Black Widow. Of the Theridiiade/tangle web family. Well known for their distinct coloring, sharp fangs, venom cautionary but usually not fatal, depends on factors such as health and age, and eating their mates after reproduction. Quite the infamous arachnid. I've always had an interest in entomology, technically spiders aren't bugs but they're still close to the subject. Let me show you my form.

Spectra confused-your form? Sees Sidney transform into a mantis, much bigger than her spider form.

Mantis Sidney in a scary voice-I assume you've heard of the Praying Mantis? Of the mantidae. There's so much I could tell you about them, personally my fav. Well known for their camouflage, forelegs great for catching and gripping prey, their signature, having their forearms folded, hence the famous name, "praying" mantis, the females eating the males heads during mating, thats actually not as common as most think. Oh and their diet consists of many insects, small animals and even spiders such as yourself.

Gets in real close to her face when he says that last part, drool around his pointy teeth. Spectra sees her scared reflection from his teeth and eyes, staring into her very core.

Spectra begins to shake and revert back to normal. Sidney too.

Sidney- So I can assume you and your pesky assistant won't say a word of Danny's identity?

Spectra completely stunned, unable to reply.

Sidney- I'll take that as a yes. Thank you. It was nice meeting you Spectra. Walks away as if nothing happened.

Bertrand-Hey Spectra. You tell Walker yet. Spectra? Penny? Hello!?

Spectra still too stunned to reply.

Winx rewrite will be in hiatus bc of the Monster High redesign?

nope no hiatus! I'll just be dispersing monster high design videos into my schedule (which I'm hoping to keep to every other monday) so this next vid will be Spectra and Twyla, and then Nabu will be after that!

It might not necessarily be switching every other video, but I definitely won't be abandoning/shelving my winx rewrite.

Doing a different kind of video has actually been super refreshing and I felt pretty excited to return to working on Nabu, since I was really struggling with him prior!

So.... What would happen if SOMEONE decided to rewrite Freaky Fusion but eliminated the fusions, left the plot of the hybrids and the time travel plot?

Long text after the cut:

The fic would begin by introducing the hybrids and the students' reaction to them. Cleo and (I think it was her?) Draculaura would give the same comments as in the movie. But here the hybrids already established in the series would not be ignored. Lagoona would talk about how she herself is a hybrid. What's more, we could even add that she is the fruit of a freshwater Nymph and a sea monster.(I just made this up while writing. I have no idea if it's canon or not but I like it.) Your intervention in the conversation could leave the atmosphere a little tense. Frankie tries to lighten the mood by insisting her friends go to class.

In another part of the school, Deuce and Jackson are in the former's locker talking about the same topic. Or rather, Deuce is nervous and frustrated by how everyone is reacting to the hybrids. While Jackson doesn't care too much. He has already had his conflict with the students regarding what he is. You already know this is temporary until the novelty of the matter cools down. This resolution does not reassure the gorgon at all. In fact, it frustrates him enough to vocalize his concerns. The whole topic was really making him very uncomfortable. On a good day, he's already having trouble coping with the fact that he's a hybrid. This only makes you feel worse. To the point of being terrified that other monsters will know what he really is. Jackson tries to console him but the bell at the beginning of his first class forces them to cut the conversation short.

What they didn't know is that a certain gossiping ghost, who was collecting information for his blog, was listening to them.

The first class is Dead Languages ​​with Professor Rotter. Class is pretty boring today. Which causes some students to become distracted and murmur among themselves. Cleo is one of them and tries to talk to Deuce (who is more in the clouds than on earth)One of the topics he brings up is about hybrids, which he immediately realizes is the wrong topic to talk about. Since she sees how her boyfriend tenses very visibly. Which makes her remember that she's been on thin ice ever since she almost got her boyfriend's best friend killed just because of her pride. Said friends... It is also a hybrid. Cleo is seriously thinking about asking Frankie to sew her mouth shut so she doesn't screw up again. (I'm thinking about placing this after my own version of Ghoul Rules. I feel it is appropriate. It seems like he's been building up these nerves since before this day. It's more ✨ dramatic ✨)

The rest of the class passes without pain or glory. Only at the end does Rotter remind his students that in the last period of school they have to present their family tree work. (because I don't remember how the homework they were given in the movie was written)And he points out that Frankie will be the first to speak.

A stressed Deuce is the first to leave the classroom, closely followed by a worried Cleo. She is a couple of steps behind him. Thinking about how to talk about whatever is bothering the gorgon. Just when you think you've finally found the words, a mass notification from Spectra's blog catches your attention. She is about to ignore it but when she saw how the students began to stare in her direction, she decided to quickly check just in case. The title leaves her baffled. "Deuce Gorgon, the most handsome cool boy in school, is a hybrid?" That was the huge title that headed the blog. Cleo looks up with the mission of searching for answers but notices how terribly pale Deuce is while looking at his cell phone. She catches his attention. He looks at her scared. In fact, Deuce becomes hyper aware of his surroundings. He notices how everyone is looking at him and starting to whisper around him. This sends him into a spiral of panic and he ends up escaping the scene. It ends somewhere in the school, near the indoor pool. That's where Lagoona finds him. Deuce realizes that she is not alone. She is accompanied by Sirena von Boo and Neighthan Rot. When he asks about them, Lagoona tells him that she became friends with Sirena in their previous class. They saw him run out of the hallway and read the blog. Lagoona and Sirena went to look for him, they ran into Neightan and he joined the search. (mainly because Avea and Bonita were still in class)

This is where I cut the explanatory text and give the concise points of this particular plot:

The plot itself has the hybrids talking about feelings and experiences. Trying to help each other in all this sea of ​​rumors and staring. Mainly by comforting Deuce and letting him open up to them.

There would be some scene with Draculaura and Clawd talking about their relationship. The topic of vampire biology would be touched upon a little. How they age and mature slower than other deadly monsters.

I would also have Deuce and Cleo talking about this matter.

Also the reaction of the students, encouraged in a negative way by Toralei, towards Deuce and his "deception".

In general: Lots of feelings, heavy conversations and ✨drama✨

Now you will ask yourself: Where is the time travel plot in all this? Good. Let's go back to the moment of Rotter pointing at Frankie.

After watching the teacher leave the classroom, Frankie lies down on his table and writhes in his misery. Robecca and Ghoulia who were by her side comfort her and ask her what's wrong. She explains that she has nothing useful to expose. His parents avoided the topic of family too much and gave him nothing to work with. So you're probably going to fail the class. Invisibilly appears (because he is another gossiper) and comments that he also goes through the same thing. His father isn't the most talkative when it comes to whatever turned him into a monster. (because in this school the concept of "private conversation" does not exist) Jackson comments that if there is a family that loves to keep secrets, it is the Jekyll family. It was easier for him to help Heath by putting together the family tree of his elemental family, than it was for Holt to find SOMETHING about his mother's family. They know that their great-grandfather is the one who started the whole Hyde thing but they don't know anything else. Not even what year his grandfather was born or how his great-grandfather Henry Jekyll and his great-grandmother met. It all seems like a big secret that no one should know about.

As he listens to them complain, Robecca has an idea. His father, before he disappeared, was a lover of science in general. He lived many years collecting information, meeting other scientists and doing his own experiments. She suggests they look for something in her father's workshop. Hopefully, they can find something regarding the Stein or Jekyll family. (Robecca apologizes to Billy for not being able to find a solution to his problem but he rejects her. He doesn't care much) Ghoulia was going to say something regarding work but after watching Deuce and Cleo leave the room, she decided that it was easier to help this group with their homework.

This is how Robecca, Frankie, Ghoulia, Billy and Jackson go to the Hexiciah Steam workshop.

While there, they don't find much. At least until Billy stumbles upon plans for a time machine. This draws the attention of the rest. Robecca takes a look at the plans and searches the workshop if there is something similar there. And, indeed, it was a large machine that was in the middle of the room. As they examine the machine, Billy comments that it would be great to test if the thing works and use it to do his homework. That makes them pause and contemplate the idea. The first to be against it is Ghoulia. She doesn't think it's very smart to mess with the timeline just for a school project. Frankie and Jackson support her. But Jackson also comments on how MAYBE if they didn't interact with anyone and were just there to watch, they wouldn't actually be doing anything. It also suggests it could be a good thing for Robecca. After all, it's the most direct way he can find clues to his father's whereabouts. This raises the robot's hopes. Ghoulia is still against it but after seeing her friends' hopeful looks, she decides that MAYBE it's not such a bad idea. As long as the necessary measures are taken. The girls and boys celebrate this beforehand and look for anything about the operation of the machine. They discover that for the machine to work and there to be a way to return, someone needs to be in the current era. Monitoring travelers through bracelets that serve as trackers and controls that allow them to travel by time and place. Ghoulia and Jackson note that there is a very specific way these bracelets work but decide to find out later. Since this was just a round trip to see if the machine worked in the first place. So with everything prepared Robecca, Frankie, Jackson and Billy get ready for the test trip. Ghoulia gives them the go-ahead and turns on the machine. The quartet enters the machine and goes to a year not too distant, just to try it out. More specifically 1950's New Salem.

In fact, the machine works! After watching a bit, the four try to go back to their time to tell the zombie. But can not. No matter how hard they try, the bracelets don't send them back to their time. In reality, it sends them randomly to other places and times. They panic a little (A LOT).

Currently, Ghoulia is worse. The disused machine was broken enough that it had imperfections that none of them noticed. So now the machine was causing fluctuations in time itself. Making time go slower or faster randomly. This is also causing beasts and animals from different places and times to appear today. Not to mention that, for some reason, his friends can't come back. So it's up to Ghoulia Yelps to fix the time machine, prevent the timeline from being destroyed, send the beasts and animals where they belong, and bring his friends back. It's... A pretty normal Monday, if Ghoulia is allowed to comment.

So this subplot has:

Jackson, Robecca, Billy and Frankie traveling through time. Uncovering family secrets and finding clues to the whereabouts of Hexiciah Steam.

To them trying to survive times that they only read about in books, saw in movies or paintings.

And Ghoulia saving the day behind the scenes.

Yes... A standard Monday.

Hey guys! Haven’t posted in a while but I HAVE been working on some personal Monster High g3 rewrite stuff (mainly the design but..)! Designing them was fun and easy but coloring is a separate type of hell. I have designs that have okay coloring but I feel I could do better on (Howleen and Twyla), designs that I don’t really like the color scheme anymore (Lagoona), and designs I straight up want to redo (Kuma) but here are what I have! I’ll also add some stuff that I changed about them personality wise underneath their respective pictureee

Draculaura (sophomore) is still a workaholic obsessed with being study-filled in school and work life. For the most part, she didn’t change much, but she’s more prone to being passive aggressive because of the stress that school and work can bring to her. She’s working on the anger stuff but not so much with taking a break,, (the boo crew is trying to help her don’t worry)

Howleen is also mainly the same as g3. She has a really cute sibling relationship with Romulus and Barkimedes acting as their younger sister who believes she’s the older one (she’s a freshman in my version). She also has a sibling relationship with Clawdeen and helps Clawdeen get around the wolf pack easier. She has a fat crush on Twyla too urrm lesbian??!?? In my universe of g3, there’s also a specific way that the school does the wolf pack hierarchy whatever thing. I’m not going to get too into it, but Romulus is the leader (he’s a junior and lately there have been a gap between leader and second in command with senior and sophomores) and Howleen is under his command, taking notes from him and learning from him as well!

Twyla (freshman) doesn’t have much to her yet, but she’s really fun currently! I have thought of some little gags with her and she constantly having bugs in her hair and her eyelashes always have some dust on them. She usually hides away in the library and she has a fun dynamic with the moth teacher.

Romulus, Barkimedes

I have so much with them I’m not even going to get into it all guys (I am biased and they are my absolute favorite). But they’re fun trust (I’ll make a separate post about what I’ve planned for them in the future maybe). Also they’re dating 😁 (both are juniors)

Lagoona, Gil, Frankie

Lagoona (sophomore) had one of the most dramatic personality changes,,, She’s a lot more airheaded and bubbly now! She can make bubbles from her mouth, she runs a bit weird (it’s always a mindless side to side I love her sm), she speaks slow but not slow enough to where it’s hard to keep up, I honestly love her. She still can get a little crazy and is constantly meat hungry! She is also NOT stupid, she’s very smart and very athletic so don’t take her for granted! She’s apart of the swim team and does tennis as well! She also has a crush on Gil ^^

Gil (sophomore) didn’t get as drastic of a personality change, but his design is a curious one! He’s from a simple but respectably small pond and is based on bottom feeder fish (hence the long mouth and always looking like he’s frowning). Compared to Lagoona, he doesn’t have sharp teeth or claw-like fingers, he’s practically harmless honestly. He’s not that athletic but he obviously does and can swim. He’s a bit of a dork but also charismatic in some ways! I still need to think more about him but that’s what I have

Oh my lord Frankie (sophomore)! They also have a noticeable change, not too dramatic though. The main difference is their Mad Scientist alter ego “Plasma K” that spawn out of them whenever they work on a project or brainstorm. A wild and lightning energetic persona pops out believing that whatever they are making is their new Magnus Opus, the new technology that people will beckon and call after, the new GOD OF THE WORLD! This persona only lasts around 30 minutes to an hour, but my god do they make an impact on everyone!

Toralei, Kuma, Spectra

Toralei (sophomore) hasn’t changed much at all. Something new I’ve added however is a simple rivalry with Romulus and her as well as friendship between her and Heath.

I gave Kuma (senior) a human design because I’ll be so for real it’s lame as hell that he’s straight up just some bear,,, like at least give him clothes. So for Kuma I plan on changing his design and clothing a bit when I redesign this redesign,, he’s based on Teddy bear-like clothes and cabin wear,, Also he likes rocks so much!! He wants to be those scientists that study rocks (I forgot what they were called).

Spectra is a character I’m having horrible trouble with tbh. She’s going to be apart of the morning news crew (when MHG3 adds Honey Swamp it’s OVER for all of you guys I love her I love her) as well as the newspaper club. She died around 1970s ish and has been apart of Monster High for a looong time, basically a permanent member. She is a teen (junior), she will always mentally be a teen. I’m wondering if I can make her lore and involvement in MH less convoluted, but this is what I currently have for her.

Purrsephone and Meowlody!

I don’t have much for them yet,, sorry,, But they do have relationship stuff! At first, Romulus and Meowlody started on the wrong foot but after a while they become great friends! Purrsephone and Barkimedes were friends from the start despite never knowing each other lol. Purrsephone and Howleen become friends because while Purrsephone likes drums to become a professional later in life, Howleen likes them as a hobby! Another thing, their designs are kind of like “popstar” and “rockstar” which I find cute^^

Yeah that’s basically it I am SICK of writing but I really do hope you enjoy my additions!! If there are some criticisms you want to give, just comment and I’ll take them into consideration! Hopefully I’ll make another post with some of the other characters I didn’t show! Ok bye bye

some additional thoughts that i had about this point in my rewrite is that the rivalry between mira and spectra could've been used in conjunction with one of the central conflicts of season 2, namely how organic bakugan were experimented on, and even deemed obsolete, in order to create mechanical bakugan. even if spectra wasn't using mechanical bakugan like the rest of the vexos, he was still relying on a shortcut (forbidden cards) to make his bakugan stronger instead of making them evolve naturally through battles.

the old keith used to chastise mira for her impatience because it would make her predictable in battle, emphasizing the importance of never letting your opponent know your next move. the current keith clearly seems to forego this way of thinking in favor of dominating his opponent through sheer power and strength.

spectra and mira's parallel journeys could've been tied in with the aforementioned conflict and highlighted the importance of growing stronger the right way. mira and wilda would constantly improve through training, losing and growing from those experiences, whereas spectra would remain stagnant in his growth as a battler because he relies so much on artificially enhancing his bakugan that power ends up taking priority over adaptability and strategy.

🔥 Danny Phantom?

Danny Phantom is charmless.

Butch Hartman is a fan of superhero comics, I think that’s something most animation fans are aware of seeing as he wouldn’t ever let you forget while he was working on cartoons. So getting to do a your friendly neighborhood ghost teen seems like a slam dunk…until you remember what most comic fans are like. And then you remember what Butch Hartman is like.

People have really good memories of what Danny Phantom was, but most of those people either haven’t watched it since they were a kid or don’t want to watch it critically now. Because watching it critically you quickly realize that there’s nothing worth your time that another series wasn’t already doing better at the time.

What is it about Danny Phantom that appeals to people?

Is it the superhero in high school shenanigans?

Kim Possible, Spider-Man, and X-Men: Evolution we’re right there, and they did every schtick Danny Phantom did better in spades.

Was it the characters?

Which ones? The parents fans try to rewrite as abusive, malicious nutcases, the blank slate who occasionally says the word ‘NASA’ to convince you he has a shred of personality, the Jewish goth girl who the shows beats mercilessly into the ground and is the only character with certified bad parents, the black tech kid who’s a walking punchline and also plays into the ‘predatory black man’ trope, or one of the many side characters who are all about as deep and refreshing as a dirt patch in a desert.

Oh but what about the villains? Those were always great!

Always? Danny Phantom had a handful of fun reoccurring villains but most outstayed their welcome really early. And far too many were way darker than a show like this needed. Like, why the fuck is Spectra’s plan to kill Danny’s sister in front of him and then psychologically abuse him until he believes it’s his fault? This is some Cruel Summer shit, not exactly yuck yuck the ghost spider-man hilarity you want out of your Nick show.

At the end of the day you liked:

-The voice of Technus and Walker

-The aesthetics of Ember and Skulker

-The idea of the ghost kid

-The idea of Danny getting a dog

-Vlad

-The Box Ghost who was a joke character

-Feeling like you were cool for liking a dark character Spectra or Control Freak (who you might’ve also like for aesthetic alone it depended)

I’d love to add Valerie on here but the show deeply regretted having a black woman be a potential love interest for a white boy so she got the mega shaft in universe and I don’t feel like piling on.

Butch Hartman came up with an idea that boiled down to “cheap Spider-Man clone” with a ghost aesthetic. And couldn’t be bothered to make any of the characters for it compelling or endearing because he was already too busy creaming his pants over all the second rate quips he could write and new powers he could blast the bad guys with.

Every morning Kyle would check the rat traps in the basement for his Dad. It wasn’t that he had strong feelings for the creatures, but he still winced at the idea of killing the poor things. It bothered him, but you get used to it, y’know? It wasn’t like he was a vegan or, god forbid, an ultra-recyclo-vegetarian. But death seemed so… permanent, for lack of a better word. It was such a severe punishment for the crime of just existing in a hostile environment. 

Then again, this is Amity Park. Death didn’t seem to stick here. 

It had been more than a year or so since they moved here, and with every passing minute, it felt like an eternity longer. Kyle, like any child, was apprehensive about transition, but when his father said they wouldn’t have to move again after their resettlement to Amity Park… he was more receptive to it. 

But then again, it’s Amity fucking Park. It had this habit of sucking all the good out. As soon as you step into the county boundary, it's like you forfeit all rights to happiness. 

At the bottom of the first-floor stairs, the sixth-grader had sleepily pulled on his socks. He hated going down there. The concrete floor was always so cold. It was like the ice resting on Lake Eerie. It was freezing and— it’d kill someone in this house to break out the broom. Rocks and shards of debris would lodge into his heel, and the youngest Weston would limp around the house. Kyle’s jaw popped as he yawned. The boy organized his choppy red hair into its natural cowlick before stuffing it into his ball cap. He got to his feet and shuffled towards the back of the house. The stairs creaked under his weight as he descended. The basement door caught a gust of wind and slammed against the wall, sending vibrations through the house. 

Damn, I hope I didn’t crack the wall. 

There was no arm rail for the stairs because this architectural nightmare was built before common sense. Kyle turned his head back from the light of the first floor, back into the blackness of the basement. He didn’t want to upset his Dad again.

See, this first year hadn’t been smooth sailing, if you managed to guess. Kyle’s brothers weren’t as ‘go-with-the-flow’ with the move. Or anything that came after. Kyle didn’t believe in conflict. He was the youngest; he was the baby of the family. He was the one who got the pat on the head for every single achievement; before, inevitably, the conversation shifted. It wasn’t his job to rock the boat. It was his job to be a good student, get the garbage out, and of course…

Go into the creepy-ass basement to check for rats that may or may not exist. 

See, Wes was the first one to see the rats. Or, more accurately, he saw the damage the rats did. Some chewed and frayed wires in the power box—things of that nature. 

…Wesley was a lot to unpack. Some would say. 

He was high-strung, had trouble letting things go, and, oh yeah, he kept seeing things that didn’t exist. That was the concerning part. At first, everyone wanted to shrug it off as a 'middle child' thing. That's before he started saying his classmates were… dead. Wes said one of his classmates had been replaced with a ghost. Then there were the weird phone calls at all hours of the night. The obsession with short radios and the police scanners that would buzz and burst to life randomly with noise. 

That’s what led to Kyle and Easton being dropped off at practices and games, while every other Thursday, they had to wave off their brother Wes in the parking lot of a therapist's office. Kyle had only been inside that building once. It didn’t smell like how a doctor’s office should, sterile, harsh, and chemical. Instead, it vaguely had the stench of coffee and cigarettes and was… overwhelmingly stale. It wasn’t a very ventilated place. There were hardly any windows except those in the private rooms where Wes would allegedly spend his allotted hour staring blankly out like he was in The Shawshank Redemption— effectively burning their father’s money.

The shrink— or rather, Ms Penelope, seemed really nice. Teetering on the edge of overkill. Kyle understood why his older brother would be reluctant to share anything with someone who appeared to be trying too hard to seem trustworthy rather than proving it. She didn’t seem too interested in Kyle’s issues per se; they spent their introductory session playing all manner of board games. Her office was plush. The couch was padded arm to arm with throw pillows, the kind with the fur on them. Not that the sixth-grader could get comfortable anyway. It may not have smelled like a regular doctor's office, but it sure was cold like one. What little hair he had on his arms stood on end with the chill. 

Kyle spent most of his appointment hunched over the coffee table, trying to rationalize in his head which colored 'Sorry!' pawn meant he had the least amount of mental disturbances. The idea behind the practice was to become emotionally vulnerable, but often that feeling overlapped with being completely exposed. Not that the middle schooler had anything to hide. Nothing out of the ordinary for a kid his age. 

Kyle would argue that he was the most well-adjusted in the family, including the two adults, in terms of who needed therapy and who didn't. Ms Penelope agreed and thought Kyle was quite mature beyond his years. However, that wasn’t the thing that stood out the most about that first and last session. Maybe it was something in his mannerisms or when Wes was brought up— perhaps it was what Kyle didn’t say. 

Penelope seemed to believe that Kyle was developing the early stages of SAD. Separation Anxiety Disorder. She said it was completely natural, given what he’s been through. Kyle didn’t like to be alone. Who did? What shocked him was that he didn’t refuse. There was no initial denial when the shrink laid it out like that. With her soft and educated voice, she had smoothed out her red pencil skirt, and lowered her cat-eye glasses to the bridge of her upturned nose. She just said it without any preamble; no fanfare at all. 

Who isn't anxious these days? In this economy? Have you seen where they live? 

Penelope had deduced effortlessly that Kyle used his humor to distance himself from his fear. The facade that took him twelve years to craft had been pierced. 

In even less time, she had come to the conclusion that the trigger for Kyle’s anxiety was… Wes. 

At once, Kyle had leaped to his older brother’s defense. Saying that, while Kyle may have been a bit… stressed , for lack of a less clinical term, Wes would have never done anything intentionally. 

That’s where she stopped him, her pen coming to a halt on her yellow notebook. Penelope dotted the end of her last sentence. Her eyes found him, then the cozy clutter of the office fell away. The maternal cadence dissolved into something cold and purely analytical. 

She told him, ‘The path to hell is paved with good intentions.’ 

Every morning Kyle would check the rat traps in the basement. 

The wooden stairs exhaled—Groaning with each step the youngest Weston landed. The water heater churned ominously. The grey floors were warped with age and stained with damage from times long gone. Kyle carefully found his way to the bottom and glanced up from his feet. He saw his brother now. Wes was hunched over the rat traps. He had one of his freckled hands inside like he was digging something out of it. 

Kyle cocked his head, still blurry with sleep, rubbing his eyes, “What’re you doin’?” 

Startling, Wes didn’t drop the metal box. Instead, the elder brother froze and stared up at his younger with bloodshot eyes. He didn’t answer right away. 

Clearing his throat, Wesley pulled his fist out of the plastic box. He explained, “I thought I’d check the traps for you. I know it's… it’s kinda gross.” 

Kyle let go of a sigh he didn’t know he was holding. He’d rather not look at something that small being dead. He asked, “Did we get’em this time?” 

Hesitant to answer, the elder moved the now closed box into the trash, “Ye-yeah. We did.” 

“Thank god.” Kyle scratched his forehead nervously, “Well, I mean, it sucks that it’s dead-dead, but…” 

Standing, Wes clapped a hand on his younger brother’s shoulder, “It's just nature. Don’t feel too bad about it, ‘kay? If it wasn’t us, then it’d be a cat later or somethin’ else. They were already dead when they walked in here.” 

“I guess…” Kyle begrudged and leaned into his brother’s hand, taking him wholly at his word. It was effortless to believe him. Wes had a way with words. Y'know that was his nickname when they were younger; Wesley the wise. Then there was Kyle the kind, Easton the earnest, and Clay… 

Kyle winced. They weren’t supposed to talk about Clay. 

Awkwardly, the older turned and stuffed something into his backpack before zipping it up, “Hey, don’t get too bummed out, alright? It's still kind of early, so now you have extra time to stop by the corner store and get some doughnuts for breakfast.” He threw his bag over his shoulder, “Doesn’t that sound good?” 

Kyle rubbed his arms, sniffling, “Uh, yeah… chocolate milk with a maple bar… what’re you gonna get?” 

Mirroring his younger brother’s body language, Wes shook his head, “You can go on ahead of me; you're old enough.” 

“But Dad says—” 

Wesley cut him off, “What Dad doesn't know won’t kill him.” He extended his pinkie, “I promise.” 

Taking a step forward, Kyle wrapped his pinkie around his older brother’s; he nodded, “Alright. I’ll walk to school by myself.” 

“Get a move on! I wanna hear all about your solo excursions when I pick you up!” Wes coaxed his brother up the stairs and out of the basement, “Talk to some cute girls, put in a good word for me.” 

The conversation struck Kyle as odd. He couldn’t exactly put his finger on why. Maybe because Wes, for once, didn’t have to be dragged out of bed by his ankles. He seemed motivated. 

Then there was the second fact: Wes basically told him everything he wanted to hear. This wasn’t a conversation but the facsimile of one. Like there was a cue card Wes was reading just behind Kyle’s head. Somewhere out there, the same audience that got their kicks from Full House would be cracking up about this. 

He was pretending to be okay. 

Like with every rehearsed motion, the elder was telegraphing silently, ‘Look! Look at me! Look at how good I am! Aren’t I fixed now? Aren’t you proud of me?’ 

There was something quiet about his desperation to be accepted back into the flock. The family didn’t like to acknowledge their blackest sheep. It was almost like an unspoken rule. Wes’ appointments and his antics were written off and thrown under a huge rug. Less like he was a young adult approaching college and more like a precocious toddler or a rambunctious family pet that was resistant to discipline. After all, both of those options bite people unprovoked. 

Kyle could only wince through a smile. What was he supposed to do? He was just a kid, and as life liked to remind him at a near-constant pace— there was very little someone his age could contribute. So, he stays out of the way. What else could he do? 

“Uh…” He asked once more, knowing he wouldn’t enjoy the answer, “Are— Are you sure?” 

Wes silently tilted his head. He didn’t understand the rising fear in his younger brother’s voice. 

Kyle clarified, “Are you sure you don’t want to walk together?” 

“Don’t sweat it, bud. I won’t be late.” 

That was the furthest thing from what Kyle was worried about.

How would u rewrite Spectra? I have this idea of her being a former famous horror actress who lost her spotlight as she got older and now as a ghost, looks for a new body to return. ep idea, auditions are held for a reboot of the show she starred in(Sam and Paulina are some of the competitors) which is really all a sinister plot to possess and takeover the best role. dont get me wrong I love OG Spectra, scary gal, I just wanted to write her closer to her obsession with youth/beauty.

We seem to have opposite directions we want to take Spectra as a character.

I see her as a scam artist posing as a doctor who preys on vulnerable people and takes their money, leaving her victims worse off if not dead in the process. She's like the Starvation Doctor Linda Hazzard, who scammed people into using her "fasting treatment" aka starving them to death, and taking advantage of their weakened state to steal all their money.

In life, Spectra's "treatment" of choice would be therapy, getting her patients to reveal things about their lives that makes it easier to access their bank account. She convinces them they suffer from aliments they don't have and give her more money to treat these aliments. In death, she does the same thing, benefiting from making those who want her help more unwell.

I'd completely drop the beauty aspect entirely to focus more on the very specific kind of abuse tactics she uses. And she is an abuser, but it takes a while for the characters to recognize that because she doesn't fit what the public consciousness imagines abusers look like, and she seems very friendly in public and private. The sweetness facade is never dropped to better disguise the jabs at her victim's psyches.

Depending on the rating of the hypothetical reboot, lobotomy might be one of the treatment she used to recommend or even perform in life, and she may have a "the mentally ill are subhuman" attitude, with all of the horrible, horrible things that entailed historically and even today. A real fan of ABA or Autism conversion therapy, this woman.

(Needless to say, I don't want to give her a redemption arc. And no one besides fellow con artist Bertrand gets along with her.)

Instead of looking older when deprived of misery to feed on, her human disguise becomes less stable and starts melting, forcing her back into her less taxing shadow form. This way the idea of a ghost's body being unstable can be introduced before we get to the clones. It also plays into the idea that the more human a ghost looks, the more powerful they potentially are. Passing as human is more taxing for ghosts, while for half-ghosts human is the least taxing form.

Having a weak ghost form means that even if she feeds on lots of misery, she won't be able to keep up her human disguise for long, leading to the episode Doctor's Disorders. The goal is very similar. She wants to create a new, more stable body for herself.

In this version, Spectra specifically wants to become a half-ghost, because as a half-ghost she wouldn't have to strain herself to maintain a human disguise and thus could spend more time in the human world feeding on misery.

To achieve this, there are 3 options: 1) Use Danny's ghost half to revive her own dead body, as Danny's ectoplasm is uniquely suited to reviving dead cells. 2) Do the first one but with the recently dead body of someone else. 3) Possess someone and fuse her ectoplasm to this living person, putting Spectra permanently in control of their body and making it her own.

In option 1, my headcanons about ectoplasm wouldn't allow it to work because Danny's ectoplasm only likes his human cells, so Spectra is defeated by her own lack of knowledge.

In option 2 she can also be defeated by the ghost of whoever's body she's using. This would mean some drastic changes to the overall plot, which would be about this person's body going missing, and our heroes have to hunt to find it.

Option 3 allows much of the plot for the episode to be preserved. She infected all these people to find the one she's most compatible with so she can take over their body. She then overshadows them and plans to kill them with a massive amount of electricity reminiscent of Danny's death. The final fight is a hostage situation where he has to free this person from Spectra's overshadowing before Spectra can kill them.

I can't decide which major female character Spectra should choose, because all of them have such good drama potential. The fight would leave Danny very shaken, because Spectra tried to do what happened to him to someone he cares about.

Here's is my proposal of how to fix G1 Gil Webber:

[part 1]

At least Volume 1:

Gil's introduced as a freshwater student from another school. And he and Lagoona start to become rivalry during the swimming competition.

First half Volume 2: Gil gets transferred to Monster High: Due to his family moving in and M.H is the closest school that he can attend it. He doesn't like it being around "air breathers" monsters and his only comfort is being in a pool.

He joins Swim Team joins just despite Lagoona, intentionally sabotaging the swim competition...

After losing another competition: Lagoona has a serious talk with Gil. And tells him if he doesn't get better for the next match. She will kick him out of the team.

Gil makes a poor excuse saying the only reason he's kicking is that he's freshwater. And he's should be captain of the team.

Second Half: In an empty hall. Gil stumbles Manny. Gil calls Manny Dumb Earther. That makes Manny furious and pushes Gil to the lockers breaking his helmet.

Manny leaves before he gets caught by the teachers. And Gil falls unconscious...

Lagoona enters and she sees Gil laying on the floor. She took some water bottles that she always carries in her bag and use inverse recitation mouth to mouth. 

[While Lagoona is saving Gil's life. Spectra takes a photo and plans to make an article about them]

Gil wakes up in the nursery room. Luckily they found another helmet and ask the nurse how he gets there. And Lagoona was just sitting over there watching him.

Gil confused asks Lagoona why do want to save him. 

Lagoona responds it doesn't matter she can't just turn back someone who needs help. Despite he's done nothing but trouble for her. Lagoona leaves the room and Gil has some time to reflect 

Volume 3: Gil has slightly improved his behavior and starts to be more cooperative with the swim team and starts to like Monster High and "air breathers". Even he made friends with Deuce, Clawd, and surprising Heath

At lunchtime: Lagoona was chatting with girlfriends about Gil's change. Suddenly everyone got a notification from Ghostly Gossip blog.

[Rivals to Lovers: Gil and Lagoona story]

Everyone starts talking and Gil leaves the Creepateria and Lagoona follows him.

Gil shouts at Lagoona to just leave him alone.

Leaves MH and goes straight to his parent's house. Luckily nobody was home at the time. Go to his room and laying on his bed staring at the photo of Lagoona "kissing" Gil

He shouldn't be angry at Lagoona, He knows that she saved his life. But he can't help to have this feeling every time he sees Lagoona. He didn't realize how beautiful and kind is Lagoona. 

Sometimes Gil asks Lagoona to help him with his homework [and viceversa] or swimming techniques despite his being good at it. Gil just wants to ask Lagoona for a date.

But Gil knows very well that his parents will not approve of this relationship. More importantly, does Lagoona has the same feelings for him ? or she just saw him as a teammate? 

He doesn't know what to do?

Yes I'm practically rewriting Gil character. Like he considering the worst characters in the fandom. As for me I don't hate him but I wish Lagoona and Gil just broke up and maybe they could find better partners You know they say: There plenty monsters on the sea (and rivers) I know still have 2 volumes left so I will make part 2. I will making more rewriting or fixes in Monster High G1. Maybe Its all depends on my mood and if I have time to write it down.

About Spectra🕷

The "good" doctor has always been trapping people in her webs. As a well skilled psychologist she used her know how of people to get what she wanted, especially through her clients. Wether it's persuading extra pay offers, sharing confidential info, she'd do anything for the right price. Eventually though the consequences of her less ethical practices catched up to her and bit her hard, literally! Now she continues to haunt the world, trying to trap people in her webs, this time they’re even harder to get out of!”.

Character:

For her I'm getting rid of the search for beauty and focusing on her being a person who takes advantage of others for her self gain. I'm thinking of making her dark neutral. She mostly does what she does for her self gain and won't go to more trouble than she has to, for what she wants and willing to work with anyone, for the right price. On the other hand her utter lack of care for the people around her as well as her willingness to abuse her power usually makes her an enemy. She also takes joy in causing the misfortune and doesn’t show much concern or remorse for it, especially if its someone she hates.

I also want to push the parallel between her and Jazz more,both being people I with skills and interest in psychology. She could be what Jazz became if she jsut stopped caring about helping people with their issues and used them to only benefit herself. I’m thinking form a young age, Spectra was aware of humanity not being naturally good and saw that more and more as she grew. Eventually she adapted a ““let them be evil” mindset and worked to be just as, if not more cunning and underhanded than the people around her.

Spectra-You can etheir be their prey or they can be yours.

Im thinking for her ep, Jazz at first likes and really looks up to her especially for her profession(fun fact, OG Jazz in one of her futures goes to Yale, which I’m headcanon Spectra graduated from) Perhaps feels like she’s able to confide to her, always trying to look out for everyone else especially her brother, it’s nice to have someone care about her business, perhaps even encouraged Jazz to care for herself more. She’s definetley much more hurt to say the least when she realizes Spectra’s true colors. I can honestly see Spectra see a bit of herself in Jazz, even has some respect for Jazz’s ability to connect with others, with that said she wouldn’t hesitate to use Jazz as Phantom bait if it benefits her or she proved to be too much of an inconvenience. Which….

She and Jazz, have a sort of similar parallel to Vlad and Danny, if perhaps not as intense.

Abilities- Can make webs that can drain someone's energy as well as trap and grab things and people, even make things out of said webbing and people, can crawl and climb all over walls and ceilings, can shoot out her webbing Spider-Man style, can remove her body parts and attach them back on(like sewing a doll), can fit herself into small spaces, high jumper, very flexible, sharp claws, legs and teeth, venomous bite, experience and skill in Psychology, dark empath, master manipulator, great vision(especially since she can move her eyes around), a sense of danger(like a spidey sense Spectra-NOT LIKE SPIDER-MAN!), good with the piano, experienced in forgery, knows ASL(picked it up for clients with hearing disabilities), great charisma, greater lying and great with textile.

@tachvintlogic​ helped gave me a lot of good ideas on how her web powers can work! 

Weaknesses- Webs can only last so long before she needs to remake them, weak ghost so she cant use too much and will etheir need new people to drain energy from or wait and conserve herself, she or her webs aren’t great getting wet, not strong in cold temperatures, strength if webs depend on her own state, hence why she drains people so much, not the greatest with modern tech, hard to trust even when she’s telling the truth, has little to no compassion, huge ego and too selfish for her own good.

If a person is physically or mentally down already, her webs can drain more out.
