Ramping up to Disability Pride Month: The disability pride flag By-the-Numbers

I made the images of the Disability Pride Flag that are at the end of my Pinned Post in Microsoft Paint (the version with bolder colors, for tee-shirts, physical flags, brochures, etc., are behind a "read more").

So I've decided to put on my grown-up pants, and finally learn to make vector image versions using LibreOffice's "Draw" program. ...It's kind of driving me up the wall, tbh, because the grid lines and rulers are hard for me to read, and I'm squinting at my computer monitor trying to figure out if all the lines are parallel.

In the meantime, I figure there are folks out there who want to make their own Disability Pride art, and would like to use the right colors without copy-pasting from the stuff I made.

So here are the R-G-B values and Hex codes:

For the physical flag colors, I plugged the R-G-B values of my original design into a Convert-to-Pantone™ generator, picked the closest matches that actually look good next to each other, and put those colors back into the "Straight Diagonal" design.

As for the widths, on a 3 foot by 5 foot flag (a standard size for a 'front porch' display -- at least, in the U.S.), each stripe is 6 inches wide. On a 3 inch by 5 inch patch, each stripe is half an inch. In other words, the width of each stripe is 1/10th the overall length of the flag -- so the band of stripes together is half the length of the flag.

HOW TO PUT A BLUR BORDER ON UR IMAGE 4 A RENTRY !!

i see a lotta folk askin how 2 do this, so imma put how this machine does it out there, along w som other ways that also work !

first way u could do it (and the way i use most often, is to use a website called quickpicturetools.com ! you select the 'blur edges' option, and then you can mess with the setting for the blur to see what you like. btw, the hex code for dark mode on rentry is #262626 <3 and the rgb (if u'll ever need it, is r38 g38 b38) this website is pretty useful in general for making small edits to a photo for any purpose <] second way you could do it is to go to a website called online-image-editor.com ! u go to the advanced setting s, and select the option that says viginette ! then u just pick which blur u like best :o i dont rlly like using this site for blurring borders since there are a limited amout of options, but if u do then use it ! lol lastly there is blurring manually by using an art software, such as ibis, krita, csp, any program made for art. you can use the air brush tool to manually blur the border of the image after copying and pasting it into the canvas, or just making the image itself the canvas. if ur also into it, u could instead (make the image the canvas, or copy n paste then delete the bg) erase the borders of the image w the soft eraser, or turning the airbrush tool into an eraser if ur program allows it. i pref erasing, mostly cause it involves less color matching 4 the grey of dark mode, also cause it'll look good for light or dark mode ! !! so thats about it, i hope this helped for all you folk out there that wanna make a rentry look pretty, but didnt know how ! <] below r some example of what the 2 sites look like, in order as mentioned :3

The flag is supposed to show nine alternating blue and white stripes, with a white cross on a blue field in the upper-hoist side. What is the RGB of RGB?

Typical RGB is stored in hex codes of six hexadecimal digits (eg. #FF85A2). But how do we convert the letters RGB into this format, if it only supports letters A-F?

The letters RGB can be encoded in many formats, but the most well known is probably Extended ASCII. This is coded so each character is 8-bits, which is useful as hexadecimal is 4-bit and so it easily divides.

In Extended ASCII, R = 01010010, G = 01000111, B = 01000010. Put these together for 010100100100011101000010, which in hexadecimal is 524742. This is six digits, which is exactly what we needed.

So what is #524742, aka #RGB?

This brownish shade. Makes sense.

It’s only now I realize it’s precede by a phonetic equivalent of “agape” so they’re adhering to the Christian principle of letting all that you do be done in love.

Or I was; I am that one who typed it. It’s really snarky and ironic that the rest of what I typed was sub Spanish for “is equal to that of the USA.” Started out as a post on water.

On the sly, wherever the programmers are located they said hey. We’ve got something equal to the United States too.

Time passed, things cooled down. And whatever this was became a little playful. And that’s what im going to show you.

now translates as “this is a zircon nuclei”

Despite the plurality of nucleus (nuclei), this contains calligraphic alliants:

identifiable reps of“Os”, and “Gu”.

Os is the old Norse word for their supreme God, represented by the rune ᚩ.

Gu is Chinese (古) meaning “ancient,” though they referred to G-D as Shen.

Then there’s a second appearance of “Os” and a similar letter to “j” I can’t explain.

Anyways here the numbers I got from attempting to recombine the digits, using Hebrew and Greek numeric values. Aiming for either RGB or CMYK color coordinates.

As you can see it took me a few tries.

Kept ending up with leftovers. Then i tried using the prompt as a guide.

Plenty of word play. So I had to get a little more creative.

For example, subjectively the word “This” triggers Arabic “hisan” for me, meaning horse. I once had a paranormal experience resulting in a picture of a blue horse. So I knew to tally the values of the word “this” and plug ‘em in.

I came up with a working schedule.

R: 61

B: 81

G : 152

Key: 45

Cyan : 161

Magenta : 28

Yellow : 27

Ended up scrapping some of the coordinates because they altered the color harmfully once id reached the prespecified destination.

Life’s like that sometimes. Sometimes we have to scrap blind obedience in favor of balance and accord with earlier wishes and what we feel to be right rather than what we are told is right.

Anyways, the key alters the previously entered coordinates. But here’s the hex code: #384a8c.

It’s a beautiful hue of almost an indigo-blue.

hi! m sorry but i wanted to ask abt how you got your text to be custom colored :( im a new blog and want to make mine pretty to look at but im stumped on how to make my text different than the default colors :(

hi my love!! ofc! i’ll just tell u abt the coding involved so it will be less confusing (hopefully).

however you want your text to be, there will be an open code with a command: <small> for example, and you close it </small> with a slash at the front of the command! rich text on tumblr does it for u automatically (bold <b>, italics <i>, strikethrough <s>, etc.) but if you want to change the colour (esp with colours that are not in tumblr’s selection) you will have to edit it in html directly.

for starts, you can open up this link that will take you to the website that will allow you to generate the code that you will input in your post. for me i personally have the hex code of the colours i want to use saved somewhere so i don’t have to keep looking for it. my theme’s main colour is #0d8b96 and i just pick a darker variation of that colour: #00353a. paste your starting colour in row three and your ending colour in row four.

and then press ‘run’. this run is only to run the colours you inputed. it will not show the code you can use yet:

the colours should appear in the two small boxes in the white section of the website:

OR if you prefer, you can directly edit the colour in the white sectioned box right away. they have RGB, HSB and hex code adjustments there, and it’s less confusing without looking at the block at coding lol. click the rectangular box to change the method of colour adjustment and you can key in ur starting colour! repeat the process for the ending colour.

now key in whatever you want to in the first box. i left mine open from my previous drabble so “geto’s” is just there. but let’s say i want it to say ‘gojo satoru’, click ‘run’ and the code you can use is generated for you in the second box! what it does is assign each letter descending in the colour until it reaches the end, so the code might be long!

now onto tumblr: click on the settings @ the top right of the posting pop-up box -> scroll down to text editor and select html.

now if we paste the gradient gojo satoru on an empty post it will look something like this. press the preview button to see how it turns out and voila!

some pointers: i usually do it on an empty post because trying to navigate a post that has your dividers / banners / text is very confusing for me but if you prefer it go ahead!!

if you close the tab to the website it resets the colours

sometimes tumblr messes up the coding and glitches so u might need to go back in to change it!

i normally just post the gradient first and make the necessary changes after (bold, small, add link) because it gets confusing if i try to do it in html, but if you prefer to do it by html that’s cool too!!

last one is that i usually save the things i will always use in posts. like a/n: / wc: / warnings: so i just copy and paste into my notes app so i wont have to keep generating codes lol

Convert RGB to RGBA over white

I have a hex color, e.g. #F4F8FB (or rgb(244, 248, 251)) that I want converted into an as-transparent-as-possible rgba color (when displayed over white). Make sense? I'm looking for an algorithm, or at least idea of an algorithm for how to do so.

For Example:

rgb( 128, 128, 255 ) --> rgba( 0, 0, 255, .5 )rgb( 152, 177, 202 ) --> rgba( 50, 100, 150, .5 ) // can be better(lower alpha)

Cách đây khoảng 4000 năm về trước, màu chàm được phát hiện là một trong các sắc tố nằm ẩn sâu và được chiết xuất từ những loại cây thuộc họ indigofera tinctoria và cây isatis tinctoria.

Người dân sinh sống xung quanh khu vực này, đã sớm khai thác và sử dụng dịch chiết xuất từ cây chàm để nhuộm vải. Cho đến thế kỷ 16, một nhà thám hiểm có tên là Vasco de Gamma nguồn gốc xuất thân từ Ấn Độ đã đem theo màu sắc này trở về quê hương.

Theo đó, màu chàm cũng nhanh chóng nổi lên như một xu hướng rất được quan tâm tại Châu Âu, thay thế cho hẳn màu xanh pastel sử dụng trước đó. Không chỉ dừng chân ở Châu Âu, màu chàm tiếp tục được ưa chuộng ở Châu Mỹ.

Năm 1850, người thợ may tên Levi Strauss ngụ tại San Francisco đã thiết kế ra một loại quần độc đáo màu xanh indigo dành riêng cho công nhân, và đó chính là quần jean – một loại quần thế kỷ.
