First and foremost, you seem to be getting a waist trainer mixed up with a custom fit corset vest made specifically to fit comfortably.

Second, one evening in a garment, no matter how theoretically restrictive, ain't gonna hurt me, I'm in fine shape for my age.

Third, if someone's gonna roll out the red carpet and name you and your friends the guests of honour for the evening, wouldn't you wanna look your best, too?

Oh man I have a story for you.

So we went to the big island yesterday to go to the volcano national park, (beautiful! By the way! Very glad to see it in person!) and at the top there’s this pretty open area with informational signs and park rangers you can ask questions to and stuff.

While we were up there, another tourist got into a snit fit that the park ranger couldn’t give her a straw? (You’re not supposed to have food or drink at the summit, I don’t think, so of course she wouldn’t) And I mean full blown I want to talk to your manager.

And Edward went and diffused this, asking the ranger a geology question and acting politely bemused, and -- I don’t know if Pele’s Curse is real? But Ghosts are? So I’m not risking it, anyway -- pointed out a piece of volcanic rock for her to ‘surreptitiously’ take home.

She dropped the whole issue, it was fun to watch.
