I was speaking to a seven year about fanfics. I read a lot of fanfics and she asked me what is it. I told her people write it because they might want the story to change like if a character they love dies. I didn’t want to get into the whole OC’s and reader fanfics. Might confuse her. After I told her about fanfics, the little booger looked me in the eye and said ‘can I put myself in a story?’ She loves Blue Exorcist and has her first anime crush. It’s on Rin Okumura. She asked me if she could write something about her and Rin. She said multiple times ‘I am a teenager in this story’ using speech to text she wrote her story. If you could leave a positive comment I’d appreciate it, you don’t even have to read it. As you can imagine with speech to text it’s not written well plus it’s from a seven year old. She dances around the room when I show her she has a new comment.

The most well know worlds are Assiah and Gehenna. The human world and the demon world. But as will all things in nature, what you have one of you must have it’s opposite to counterbalance. This would be the world Above for Gehenna.

The world Above is home to all you’d expect; the dead, the Angels soldiers, and their God. The one exorcist pray to. The one whose Divine Power assists in the expulsion of demons and sin. The one who oversees all. The opposite to Satan. His rival. His enemy.

They have history the two of them. Used to be in what was close to harmony. God made beings that would at one point or another become gifts to Satan. And oh how Satan cherished the gifts. Until God formed humans. And humans formed God. And suddenly God was favoured and Satan ridiculed.

The relationship grew dark as jealousy and hatred emerged in the cracks.

And so, when it was speculated Satan had somehow had a son that had the potential to rule, an opposite must be formed. The Angels Ariel and Samael agreed to assist. And so the being of Nature was formed. A perfect child weapon against whatever creature was spawned from Satan.

Soon the phrase “God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers” started to relate to the raising of this child. Inquisitive. Curious. Impulsive. Autonomous. Not a good weapon. Too close to human. Human…

…Ariel resisted the idea to give up the young Angel. Too little. Too fragile. But soon they agreed it would be best. They found a nice couple in Japan to raise them, and told them specific instructions for if and when things happened.

Now, it was expected the 2 Angels leave their spawn alone until they were older and could handle it. Expected. Not enforced. And so Ariel was there when they made their first flower bloom, and Samael there when they accidentally killed instead of healed a pigeon.

When they turned 15, they were enrolled into True Cross Academy for schooling and the Cram School to learn how to exorcise. And since they’re away they can go by the name they chose; Ren. Because when you’re forced to bring Peace, sometimes you just wanna raise a little hell.

BLUE EXORCIST HEADCANONS— rin, bon, ash, and shiemi polyamorous relationship

NOTE: I can’t help it. The thought of these four in a polyamorous relationship is fucking adorable 🥰🥰🥰🥰

WARNINGS: mentions of pregnancy.

Ash and Bon are the introverts in the group. Shiemi is a shy extrovert, but an extrovert nonetheless. Rin is definitely more on the extrovert side rather than the introverted side. 

Bon is a huge fan of PDA. Small gestures like holding hands and wrapping his arm around their waist are more his cup of tea. 

Speaking of tea, I feel like Bon doesn’t drink too much coffee. While he doesn’t particularly crave coffee all that often, Bon does love tea. Specifically green tea and chai tea. 

On his off days when everything just seems like nothing is going his way, Shiemi (or Ash or Rin) will make Bon some of his favorite tea. 

Ashley has a collection of Long Furbies. Their names are Roanoke, Winchester, Majestic, Roswell, and (the latest addition) Mackey. If you’re wondering: yes, Ashley named her army of long furbies after haunted places and conspiracy theories. 

Bon doesn’t blush or fluster often, but he's always sooo damn cute to Shiemi, Ash, and Rin when he does 😊😊😊😊

Like I said previously, Shiemi carries the twins, Akito and Reiko, but Bon fathers the twins. 

It’s a common occurrence for someone to walk into one of the lovers’ dorm rooms, only to see Rin, Shiemi, Ash, and Bon passed out on top of each other or cuddling each other. 

Alex has taken pictures of those moments and she uses them as blackmail and material to tease Ash, Ryuji, Rin, and Shiemi. She means well, and it’s all in good fun.

Ryuji with his hair down is omg 🥵🥵😫😫 There are some moments where Ash, Rin, and Shiemi just can’t take their eyes off of Ryuji because goddamn you just look sooo hawt 😩😩😳😳

They take turns sleeping with each other. Obviously, because there are four people, the bed would be very crowded lol. Usually what they’ll do is have two of them sleep in one room while the other two sleep in the other room. For example, Ryuji and Ash sleep in Ryuji’s room while Rin and Shiemi sleep in Rin’s room. They’ll switch who they sleep with every so often to make sure everyone gets to cuddle with every party involved. 

Ash has really bad congestion. It’s chronic allergies, and it can get really super bad sometimes to the point where Ash gets hit with a little sickness called a sinus infection 🤧🤧🤒🤒 

Ash’s congestion gets worse during the spring and summer, as well as her eczema. 

Ashley really likes to carry Shiemi. Ash does this to make her blush lol. 

When Ash is around her lovers, she can be a bit of an oversharer. With anyone else, though, she keeps certain things to herself. Ash just trusts Rin, Ryuji, and Shiemi more than anyone else in her life, and she knows that they won’t judge her. 

There was one time when Ashley was making monkey bread with Brie cheese and cranberries (WHICH IS SOOO GOOD BTW 😌), and Rin was helping her cook it since it takes a bit. Rin had asked her to open some Pillsbury Biscuit cans, and she did, but not how you’re supposed to. Do you know how you’re supposed to hit the middle of the can on something and open it from there? Well, of course, Ashley didn’t do that. She was running off of no sleep for three days straight and opened the can of biscuits up with a can opener. Yeah, the whole thing exploded out of the end of the can… Ashley felt so fucking stupid at that moment, but Ryuji, Rin, and Shura got a hell of a kick outta it, that’s for sure. 

Ashley has a very intense fear of water, insects, and loud noises. Her fears are so intense to the point where she will have panic attacks. She’s very jumpy in general, but whenever there are loud noises and insects she’ll fucking cry and break down right there (or shortly thereafter). Her fear of water is so bad that Ash actively avoids taking baths, and she tries to hold out on showers for as long as she can. When she takes showers, Ashley HAS to have Shiemi, Ryuji, and/or Rin in the shower with her to help distract her and calm down. 

One time, Ryuji walked in on Ash changing into her lingerie (which are her pajamas btw), and she was blasting Tongue Twister by Cash Cash and singing along to it. When Ash turned around and saw her boyfriend in her bedroom doorway, she froze and both of them were as red as a tomato. 

Legit Ryuji just stared at his girlfriend in awe bc omg he loved what he was seeing 😳🥵

Yeah, Ryuji didn’t let Ash live that down for a while after that. Relentless teasing definitely ensued at that moment. 

“I want your tongue twister. You got me beggin’ for your head spinner. I want it, I want it. Let’s get loud—”

“You wanna get loud? Then let’s get loud.”

“Ah! Holy shit, Ryuji, you scared me!”

And that’s how Ryuji discovered that Ash sleeps in lingerie. 

Rin, Ash, and Shiemi affectionately call Ryuji “Ryu” to fluster him.

Please may I have Blue exorcist headcanons of being one of Yukihiro Okumura's familiars..a baby Kaiju named Emi..she is a girl but she isn't human and she's big as Kuro in his large size. Yukihiro had no idea of how on earth he had got roped into raising a baby that wasn't human and it imprinted on him because she thinks that he is her caregiver! He is a kid but Mephisto ended up making him look after her. Emi is 20-feet tall Kaiju baby demon. It was a type of demon but she was pretty much harmless.

Personality:

Emi is basically your typical infant..but she isn't human and..she's 20-feet tall. *Yukihiro had a lot on his plate and dealing with a baby demon isn't fun*. She is your typical baby..but not a human one. Her acid sick reflux is legendary in a disgusting sense..and Rin had to take a 2 hour bath to wash the sick off him when he was caught in the full blast of it the first time. she is extremely sweet and she loves Yukihiro and that much was clear. She only responded in chirps and warbles..the only people who can understand her are Rin and Yukihiro and Kuro and other demons. Rin did play baseball with her at one point just to make sure that she got some exercise..https://youtu.be/qkSv4SL1DBc?si=4k0m8uetE7ZEkMrK and Emi understandingly reacted how all babies did when accidentally hit on the head with the ball..he didn't mean to do it intentionally! She's quite adventurous..with disastrous results as trouble usually follows..she is attached to Yukihiro so whenever he went..she wasn't far behind. Emi was absolutely exhausting to deal with..she is literally a monster version of a typical human baby!

Emi is a baby Kaiju who's the familiar of Yukihiro Okumura (at the request of Mephisto). She's sweet and loves Yukihiro but can cause a lot of trouble and be very tiring. What do the characters think of her?

I think Yukihiro has mixed feelings about Emi. He loves her dearly, but she can be a lot sometimes and he’s still only a kid.

On good days, he enjoys having her by his side. She’s strong and caring and, even if she can be a bit of a chatterbox at times, he enjoys the company.

On the worst days, he resents having to look after her and his dislike of Mephisto only grows because then he feels bad about thinking of her that way.

But in the end, he wouldn’t have it any other way. If anything were to happen to her, he would seek revenge on whoever dared to hurt his dear familiar.

Ginny on the other hand loves Emi to pieces! She thinks the baby kaiju is heaps of fun to be around and will be a good influence on Yukihiro.

Despite that, she does worry about how her brother will cope with the responsibility of the admittedly challenging Emi. Ginny always makes sure he knows she’s there to help if he needs it.

Whenever Yukihiro needs a break from the young kaiju, Ginny’s there to step in. Emi’s separation anxiety isn’t so bad when at least one of the Okumura siblings is around.

Ginny likes knowing Yukihiro has such a strong familiar by his side. She worries about him a lot because of how much trouble follows him and knowing he’s safe means a lot to her.

Rin’s an interesting mix of Yukihiro and Ginny. He likes Emi and thinks she’s fun but he can’t spend a lot of time around her.

He can find her annoying at times and doesn’t particularly want to snap at the young kaiju. He’s made her upset one too many times and doesn’t want it to happen again.

He does like having her with them in battle though. The beams she shoots are really helpful, if a bit distracting.

Rin knows Emi’s got Yukihiro’s back and is grateful for it. It means he can concentrate on other parts of the fight, and his life in general, rather than constantly keeping an eye on his little brother.

Yukio finds Emi exhausting and worries about Yukihiro far more than Rin or Ginny do. He’s only young and Yukio isn’t sure the responsibility will be good for Yukihiro.

He’ll do his best to help Yukihiro look after Emi where possible but I feel like Emi doesn’t like the older brother too much. She finds him scary.

Much like Yukihiro, Yukio resents Mephisto for putting so much responsibility on the young boy’s shoulders. He won’t say anything to Mephisto directly but he’ll make his displeasure clear in other ways.

Despite all that, Yukio does like knowing Yukihiro is safe in combat situations. Emi’s strong, even Yukio acknowledges that.

Bon’s a combination of Rin and Yukio in this regard. He thinks Emi’s a valuable asset in battle and he has a bit of a soft spot for her but he can find her annoying a lot as well.

He has very little patience for the separation anxiety and the excessive chirps and warbles she lets out.

But part of the reason he can’t stand her sad warbles is because it makes him feel bad for her. It pulls on his heart strings hearing the young kaiju so upset.

He probably won’t help out with her that much but he’ll keep an eye on her in battle. He wouldn’t want anything bad to happen to her after all.

Shima’s honestly a bit scared of Emi for a whole bunch of reasons. Firstly, she’s a giant creature who shoots beams from her mouth.

Secondly, she’s a young female who’s got some pretty drastic mood swings. He’s not quite sure how to help out in those situations and it makes him feel bad.

He thinks Emi’s quite sweet though, especially when her mood is calm and she’s happily following Yukihiro around.

Shima’s definitely glad she’s on their side. He won’t say no to hiding behind her in battle if the opportunity arises.

Much like Shima, Konekomaru finds Emi a bit frightening. She is very big and very strong and he worries that her emotions will cause problems in the future.

It takes him a while to get past the fact that she’s a Kauji and realise that she’s just a young girl.

But as soon as he realises that, he goes into full big brother mode. He’s going to help out with her care as much as possible.

He’s still a bit timid around her but he’ll do what he can to make her feel loved and welcomed in their group.

Shiemi really likes Emi but she is quite timid around her, especially at the beginning. Much like Konekomaru, it takes her a while to realise that she’s just a big child.

And much like Konekomaru, as soon as she realises that, his big sister instincts kick in and she starts looking out for Emi big time.

Unlike everyone else, Shiemi’s not super fond of Emi being involved in battles. Sure, she wants Yukihiro to be safe but she doesn’t want the baby Kaiju to be in danger either.

Even if Emi’s exhausting to look after, Shiemi enjoys being around her. She likes helping out and beginning joy to people's lives and she hopes she can do the same for Emi.

Izumo couldn’t be more different from Shiemi on the outside. She acts like she doesn’t care about Emi and will do her best to convince everyone that that’s the case.

On the inside though, that couldn’t be further from the truth. She’s got such a soft spot for Emi, it’s not even funny.

Izumo’s always keeping an eye on Emi, in battle and in daily life but she takes a much more backseat approach than Shiemi does.

She does need to take breaks from being around her though. Even being around other people tires her out and being around a giant baby Kaiju is a lot worse.

If you thought Shiemi and Konekomaru are Emi’s big siblings, it’s nothing when compared to Kuro. He loves having another familiar around, especially one he’s the same size as if he gets big.

He’ll help her in all the ways the humans can’t. He understands what it’s like growing up as a demon.

Her chirps and warbles are quite high pitched at times and he’s got really sensitive ears so at times, Kuro needs to have some alone time to recover.

He hopes Emi can look up to him as a good role model and someone she can go to if she needs help from another demon familiar.

Sun beams down on the beach where Rin, Shima, Kamiki, and I are stationed on a ‘mission’. Which so far, has just being trying and failing at selling fried squid. Rin has taken charge of that department since he’s weirdly good at cooking. Shima and I are helping with testers and trying to help the squid sell. Kamiki ditched us to do who knows what. 

She soon emerges in a very cute swimsuit and ring float. “What? It’s my turn for a swim.” she saunters off to the ocean. The nice, cool ocean. Hey, just because I’m Aussie doesn’t mean I like the heat. 

“That’s what we need! A cute sales girl! Then I’m sure we’ll make sales.” Shima grins, staring off at the sea of cute girls in cute bikinis. I slap him upside the back of the head. “Watch it there, monk.” Bon made me promise to keep him in line. apparently he’s been slipping into bad habits again. 

“Hey! Ok fine. You can’t say I’m wrong though. Why don’t you do it?” I burst out laughing before I can stop myself. “Yeah right! A cute girl would make better sales than an AFAB non-binary in board shorts and a swim top.” Shima just shrugs his shoulders and turns his attention to Rin, who’s attempting to keep Kuro away from the squid. “Hey man, you wanna get out of the sun for a few minutes? Your cheeks are really red.” 

He almost knocks Kuro off his shoulder with how quick he flies his hands to his red raw cheeks. “I’m fine!” Rin’s voice comes out mufffled with the way he’s squished his cheeks. We shrug it off.

Suddenly, we all hear a commotion from the waterfront. We turn to see Kamiki flailing about in the water frantically. Shima and I start bolting to her. Rin follows after shutting off the grill.

“Are you ok?” “What happened?””Hey where’s the guy who saved you?” We all rush out when we reach Kamiki, who in all reality seems fine if not a bit shaken up. “I’m down here!” A small voice from near knee height angrily answers Rin’s question. We all tilt our heads down to meek Kamiki’s brave hero. A 10 year old boy.

After the long walk around the island, we finally reach where we are staying for the night. Shima and Kamiki go to bed right away. Rin doesn’t but I don’t know what he’s up to. I instead go onto the balcony and dramatically stare at the night sky. Heaven is up there. The Above. Where I’m from. 

While lost in thought, Rin sneaks next to me. “Feeling homesick?” He knows the answer. It’s not the first time we’ve had this conversation. He caught me doing a similar thing the night he found out what I am, and what he is. He asked me the same thing. I explained the situation; that it’s not actually my home just where I was born and where my parents are from. Australia is my home. He nodded and said he knew how I felt. His dad is from Gehenna, but his home was with Father Fujimoto. 

I let out a chuckle and bump my shoulder with his. “You know that answer.” He hangs his head for a second before looking back at me. “Not that home, Angel.” Angel. He started calling me that a while ago. I hate it, but it means in return I can call him ‘Sheep’. “I don’t know…I miss my parents, my friends, and the overall vibe of Australia. But I don’t think I miss home in the way you mean.” 

We stay like this for a while. Looking out at the sea and sky in a comfortable silence. My head at one point or another ends up on his shoulder. Crickets are chirping and we can just hear the waves crashing on the shore. It’s peaceful. It’s nice. It’s another long while, maybe 20 minutes, before the next small conversation starts. “What do you think will happen if people find out?” It’s more of a whisper than I meant it. “I don’t know. But there’s nothing wrong with us being friends, right?” He says this as he rests his head on top of mine and wraps an arm around my shoulders. Friends.

It’s quite late when we finally decide to head to bed. Mine to mine. His to his. Kuro though, has decided to follow me and sleep by my feet. I think back over what Rin said. Friends. I play over the hypothetical scenarios of our friends and ‘sides’ finding out, how they would react, what we would say, how it would end.

The next morning, I’m the last up excluding Kuro. The place is nice and quiet, open windows allow the sounds of gulls and seaside sounds to flow in. Since it’s just me, I stay in my racerback tank and shorts. With a short detour to the bathroom to appear decent, I rummage the kitchen for breakfast like a little raccoon. 

As I’m putting together a scavenger plate, the balcony door opens. I freeze and turn to face the being. I must look like some weird fairytale creature stealing food to make a spell. It’s just Rin though, so I relax. “Morning” turning back around, I grab my plate and make way to the table. “Uh…morning” I bite into a slice of cheese “Are you not going out with the other two?” “I am. Just slept in a bit.” He scratches the back of his neck sheepishly. I chuckle “Aight then…Sheep.” 

He walks to find Kuro, who is still asleep on my bed, but as he gets behind me he stops. “Can I help you?” It takes him a while to answer. “No. Just tired still. Sorry” and he leaves.

When we regroup with the others, they’re talking with our new little friend. He is in a very heated conversation with Kamiki. “What’s going on?” We quiz Shima. He fills us in about the demon squid, Kraken, and the kids backstory. We find out about the lack of fish and how the ocean blackens. Hey! Like what’s it’s doing now. Shit.

The kid darts off to the dock with Kamiki hot on his tail. Not really knowing what else to do, we follow behind, trying to coax them both back. 

The kid doesn’t even stop when he gets to the edge, he just jumps straight into the sea, spear in hand, ready to avenge his father. Rin goes in after him with the same lack of hesitation. Kamiki, Shima, and I remain on the dock.

The fight is a difficult one. Knowing only the basics of the Kraken made it hard to figure out what verse, if any, could weaken it. Rin is attempting to fight the squid one handed, the kid propped up with the other to stop him from drowning. I’m kneeling on the docks edge, unsure on how to help. If the demon blade can’t work on it, I doubt mine can. 

A voice breaks through the chaos from a little wooden row boat. It’s the kids father alive and well.

It takes a while for everything to settle down, but when it does, the dad explains how he befriended the Kraken. Ah, a symbiotic relationship between a demon squid and a seaside town, what more could you want?

The rest of our class join us at the sea for a debrief and to relax. We swap stories at the restaurant, and plates. Mephisto and our teachers join us to report on our next assignments and what generally happens next. 

“So, what did you two get up to last night? You were alone on the deck for quite some time.” Shima, ever the one for both chaos and embarrassing his friends, asks, gesturing to the two of us. Rin’s sunburn comes back. Looking Shima dead in the eyes, I answer him sarcastically with a blank face, “Making out, obviously.” 

He whoops and laughs for a few seconds before realising. “Ok but seriously, I can’t be the only one who thinks the two of you would be cute together.” We burst out laughing. Both at Shimas idea, and the idea of a demon and and Angel-born being romantically involved. “When did you become a matchmaker, dude?” I ask between laughs. Shima rolls his eyes. Shiemi looks down at her plate. Bon glares at Shima. Both Rin and I return to our food, quietly thinking the statement over. 

Friends. Together.
