Does Thundercracker use his outlier ability in comics? I know that in g1 canon he could produce sonic booms but I've never seen people talk about his powers as much as Skywarp's teleportation

YES ! he does but only like a handful of times, I think that its a bit of a joke that his Outlier ability is so useless that it should barely even consider as an outlier ability, SOMETIMES HE JUST DOES IT OUT OF INSTINCT MORE THAN INTENTIONALLY-- his outlier ability is.. YEAH. NOT DISCUSSED ABOUT AS MUCH

I've seen a lot of differing opinions on how aware Bucky was as the Winter Soldier under brainwashing. Some say he was fully aware but just indoctrinated into wanting to follow orders, while others say he was a programed machine with no control basically.

I just wanted to ask what your opinion on that topic was. I love your other metas btw 💕

Sorry for the late reply! I’ve been somewhat away from Tumblr and I’ll try to work through the bunch of asks that I’ve missed.

The theories that say Bucky was aware and simply indoctrinated tend to be based on his comics origin. I haven’t actually read Brubaker’s run myself, but my understanding is comics Bucky was far more aware of his actions. While I think he still didn’t know his true identity because of his amnesia, he had far more self-awareness and independent thought.

For me, MCU Bucky is not someone who had the capacity to make his own decisions. The fact that the “wipe” manages to deprive him of every frame of reference including even his most recent memories of his missions means he simply doesn’t have the understanding to make judgements. It also seems to me that they erase his sense of identity - comics Bucky may not know his true identity, he at least had an intact sense of self, while MCU Bucky has a robotic, impersonal demeanour when he’s freshly wiped and in mission mode (both the Helicarrier scene and the Civil War activation scenes show Bucky in this very mechanical, depersonalised state). Certainly both of those scenes suggest Bucky doesn’t have much contextual awareness of who and what he’s fighting for. In particular in the Civil War scenes, it suggests that voluntary thought was stripped from him when he’s “activated” by the code words. He doesn’t respond to Howard calling his name, nor does he recognise Sam and Steve later when Zemo activates the Soldier.

I think a lot of the early meta (from 2014) theorised that maybe he was only brainwashed because of that grand speech Pierce gives him (“Your work has been a gift to mankind. You shaped the century. I need you to do it one more time”). He seems to be appealing to the Bucky that we remember from CATFA, who would’ve stepped up at the beckoning of a greater cause. But to me, that scene was…maybe a bit of Pierce’s mockery and also his manipulation. He refuses to tell Bucky who he’s actually fighting against, and speaks in vague terms about what Bucky’s mission was for. We never see any hint that Bucky knew or understood what cause he was fighting for. As soon as Bucky asks who Steve is, Pierce first minimises and then shuts him down swiftly with the wipe. Bucky also doesn’t respond to Pierce’s pontification — we could either interpret that as him being distracted by his memories of Steve, or that the preaching was just performative on Pierce’s part because Bucky had no idea anyway.

Explanation: This kilometer high cliff occurs on the surface of a comet. It was discovered on the dark nucleus of Comet Churyumov - Gerasimenko (CG) by Rosetta, a robotic spacecraft launched by ESA, which orbited the comet from 2014 to 2016. The ragged cliff, as featured here, was imaged by Rosetta early in its mission. Although towering about one kilometer high, the low surface gravity of Comet CG would likely make a jump from the cliffs by a human survivable. At the foot of the cliffs is relatively smooth terrain dotted with boulders as large as 20 meters across. Data from Rosetta indicates that the ice in Comet CG has a significantly different deuterium fraction -- and hence likely a different origin -- than the water in Earth's oceans. The probe was named after the Rosetta Stone, a rock slab featuring the same text written in three different languages that helped humanity decipher ancient Egyptian writing.

Scribblenauts is a game about everything! Everything's in there! Well, a lot of things are. They don't have Earthworm! What's the deal with that? Trying to summon an Earthworm will spawn a Tapeworm instead. I know it's a lot of work to add so many assets to a game, but I would really expect Earthworm to be added before Tapeworm, you know? It's a much more beloved worm. But I'm not complaining, just musing! Most games don't even get one tapeworm. I don't even get one tapeworm. Some people get all the luck!

It's very possible that you could have played Scribblenauts before, yet have never seen this character. And yet, this is The Scribblenaut! Is this who this is all about? No, it's not. But once upon a time, it would have been!

The Scribblenaut, as we know it, is a design that was originally worked on with the intention of being the game's protagonist. The Scribblenaut would have traveled across planets, helping their inhabitants, hence the name! This kind of roboty astroguy is a very Me design, so of course I would have been just fine if it ended up being the hero! However, the game's concept shifted, and with it so did the design. Any semblance of a story was removed, and you know what they say! "All's well that macks well"!

They say this because now Maxwell was the protagonist! While I love Scribblenaut, Maxwell is a really great design, and a great main character. Human and relatable, though with a rather eccentric outfit, and an iconic little smirk. This kid has the ability to do anything, you'd better believe he'd at least be MILDLY cheeky while doing so!

And that was the end of Scribblenaut (character)'s story, over before it ever actually began. Like it was absorbed by a twin in the womb. But this was only the beginning of its implications!

This here wispy-doodle is called monstermagic! It's formatted in game with an @ in front, but I don't want to ping some random blog that has not posted since 2014. (On that note, 2014 is closer to this blog's creation than the date of this post's publishing is!) Monstermagic comes from the monstergun, and these things have weirdly formatted names because they are not meant to be used by the player, who cannot type @ signs using the in-game keyboard. With some sufficient sneakery, though, the player can spawn these objects, including monstermagic, which transforms a human into a random monster on contact!

Why is this relevant? Because Scribblenaut is one of the possible monsters! This is no mere human in a suit, this is a CREATURE, some kind of alien or robot or who knows what. That's awesome! The one downside of the design was the implication that there might be a boring old human in that suit, but we know that is NOT the case! It's even in the "Mythical Creatures" avatar pack in Scribblenauts Remix, alongside other creatures, such as Mime.

Despite this, there is still the implication that one can Become a Scribblenaut. The 100% completion reward in the first game is the Scribblenaut as an avatar, as if Maxwell finally attained this elusive rank! Though, it seems like over time, this concept faded away, and "Scribblenaut" took on a less formal definition, with Maxwell's entire family being referred to as Scribblenauts. Perhaps the real Scribblenauts were the random kids who stole our identities and relegated us to mere cameos along the way...!

The Flagship-class robotic spacecraft comprised both NASA's Cassini space probe and ESA's Huygens lander, which landed on Saturn's largest moon, Titan.

Cassini was the fourth space probe to visit Saturn and the first to enter its orbit, where it stayed from 2004 to 2017.

The two craft took their names from the astronomers Giovanni Cassini (1625-1712) and Christiaan Huygens (1629-1695).

I'm back!

This concept happened somewhat by accident. I was in the process of updating some old mockups. While looking at my original pitch mockups for Ducktales Remastered, I came across an old revamp of Chip & Dale on the NES back in 2014. Given that I had to isolate all the elements to apply the changes, I suddenly had workable game assets and some extra time on my hands. Things just snowballed from there.

One thing I did want to address from the original was to properly show the scale of things. The NES game was all over the place (mouse sized rhinos for example.) So making sure the big robot dogs from the first level where actually appropriately imposing was important. The game also implied you travel to locations by plane, but you never got to see it.

While the mockup is scaled for modern systems, I've composed the music and sound effects using SNES limitations to give it that old Capcom home-console flair.

Anno2070-to-Sims2: Eco Production Buildings

Published: 2-4-2025 | Updated: N/A SUMMARY This is a collection of hood deco - eco production buildings from Anno 2070 (Ubisoft, 2011), including 40+ factories, farms, fields, and seasonal crops. I’ve edited them to work better with my desert landscape, but they should be suitable for all neighborhood types. Several crops change based on the season – I like to think of this “crop rotation” as an eco-friendly detail. Find more anno-to-sims2 content under the #co2anno hashtag.

DETAILS Requires all EPs/SPs (may work w/ only 1-2 EPs). §0 | Hood Deco > Effects/Misc Buildings light up partially in night/hood view. There are some texture quirks since these are not meant for larger meshes. Also, these buildings are not repo’d/compressed. Some building footprints are OFFSET because they are meant to be placed over sunken ground. Use “modifyneighborhoodterrain on/off” cheats to lower the terrain. Then, place the offset structure over the hole.
